"Ladies, ladies, settle. We can all swim together" Nate says walking towards the ocean with his arms wrapped around all three girls' shoulders. He removes his arms and walks closer to the water. Lewis and Zane are running across the beach hoping to stop the girls before it's too late. They notice the girls are extremely close to the water and start yelling to get their attention. The girls stop and look back at the two running towards them. Lewis and Zane keep running until they are standing in between the girls and the ocean.
"Come with us, right now or you're going to regret this" Zane says with his arms up like a make shift barricade. Nate notices that the girls are not with him and that Lewis and Zane have crashed the party. He gets upset and heads back on to dry land. "Hey, you guys need to get over this jealousy thing and face the facts. The girls jump for the Nate-a-roo, don't you ladies?" Nate asks looking at the girls, expecting them to faun over him like they have been all day. Cleo smells the air and suddenly the girls start to come to. As if they are waking up from a dream.
"What are we doing?" Cleo asks looking at Emma and Rikki.
"Why am I here?" Emma asks looking between her friends and Nate. Lewis motions for Zane to move behind the girls so they can have a private conversation.
"The salt water must have washed it off of him" Lewis says pointing out the obvious. All three girls look at Nate and then to Lewis and Zane.
"Zane, what is going on?" Emma asks trying to figure out what is going on and how they ended up at the beach.
"It's hard to explain, but you've been attracted to Nate" Zane looks between the three girls "You all have" Zane says. The girls look at him like he has gone completely crazy. Rikki takes a step to the side and reaches for Zane's hand hoping that it will comfort her. She also hopes that she can silently communicate with him that she would never willingly chose Nate over him. Zane squeezes Rikki's hand letting her know that he understands.
"Just, forget about these losers, let's go party" Nate says motioning toward the ocean, not realizing that the girls no longer like him. The girls all look at each other and then look at Nate like his is crazier than normal.
"Nate I wouldn't go anywhere with you, if you were the last man on the planet" Rikki said disgusted.
"Who would, if the human race depended on him to survive, I think we would all gladly die" Emma said wondering what would have caused them to be infatuated with Nate. Suddenly water rolled up the shore and washed over the girl's feet. The three of them looked between each other as well as Lewis and Zane scared of what was going to happen.
"Go. Swim. Now" Lewis said
"Quick" Zane said at the same time. The girls took off running for the ocean knowing that they only had a few seconds before the magic took over. As soon as the girls were safe in the water, they took off for Mako as fast as they could swim. Back on the shore Nate was excited that the girls were going to join him.
"That's more like it" Nate said looking at the ocean as the girls ran in.
"Nate if you actually think they like you, you really are an idiot" Lewis said thankful that the girls were safely away from Nate and the ambergris.
"If I didn't have three beautiful ladies waiting for me, I'd…" Nate said with a smirk. Lewis smiles and points to the ocean, Nate looks back confused. "Girls" Nate called not seeing the girls. Zane and Lewis smile and turn around and walk away. "Girls" Nate calls again not sure how they disappeared.
"Nate I know you were never the smartest person around, but you are one of my mates, so I am only going to ask you this once. Did you really think that it was okay when my girlfriend, someone you know I have worked hard to have like me, suddenly finds you of all people attractive?" Zane asked looking at his friend who was still staring at the ocean. Not waiting for an answer the two boys walk away. As they reach the spot on the beach where Nate left his clothes, Zane stops to pick up the ambergris bottle so that Nate can't abuse it any longer.
The girls arrive in the moon pool wondering what could have caused them to be attracted to someone as repulsive as Nate.
"I can't believe we almost blew it, because we were attracted to Nate." Emma said leaning against the ledge in the pool.
"I think I'm going to be sick" Rikki said looking almost like she wanted to throw up. "Whatever caused that I never want to know or be around it again, I can't escape Nate without breaking up with Zane and right now that is not something I want. I really like him despite part of me telling me that I shouldn't."
"You don't think we kissed him, do you?" Cleo asked looking both mortified and disgusted.
"I need to disinfect my mouth, just in case" Rikki said. Suddenly things started to clear up in Emma's mind.
"Oh no, that is why Ash was acting so weird. What did I do in front of him?" Emma asked before sinking back into the water and headed back to the café. Cleo and Rikki soon followed after her. The girls made it back to the marina and dried off before Emma and Rikki headed back to the café hoping they respective boys they wanted to see were still there.
"Hey Ash" Emma said walking up to him.
"Oh, hey" Ash said walking behind the counter.
"Is everything ok?" Emma asked following him.
"Well yeah, business is booming. Now that your stinky friend has moved on" Ash said as he started making the drinks some customers had just ordered.
"Yeah, about that, it's kind of hard to explain" Emma said trying to think of an explanation without fully telling Ash the truth and what little about the situation that she knew.
"It seemed pretty obvious to me" Ash said both wanting to end the conversation and learn the truth for once. "Is he an old boyfriend or something?"
"Nate? An old boyfriend? Not really. He is just someone I put up with because we grew up together and more so lately since one of my best friends is dating his best friend" Emma said.
"Is that how you behave around all your old friends?" Ash asked not fully believing Emma.
"No can we just start again?" Emma asked hopefully. "Whatever happened earlier today was some weird unexplainable occurrence that will never happen again." Emma finished with absolute certainty that something like that would never happen again.
"Are there any other weird things in your past I should know about?" Ash asked wanting to believe Emma.
"Um, no" Emma said not thinking about the weird things in her present that she didn't want him to know just yet. Maybe not have him know at all.
"Well, all right then" Ash said not fully believing her but happy that she is being honest with him. Across the café Rikki is sitting with Zane in one of the booths. Rikki was holding Zane's hand on the table. Even though they both knew she wasn't much for PDA, they both felt like they needed the comfort.
"So do I want to know what happened today and if you were somehow involved in all this craziness?" Rikki asked her boyfriend.
"Honestly, I don't think you want to know, but if you want I will tell you all about it." Zane said knowing that to make this relationship work he needed to be honest with Rikki.
"Will I be mad at what I learn, if I ask for you to tell me?" Rikki asked skeptically.
"More than likely, I know I would be if this was reversed." Zane said.
"Then in that case, you and Lewis can keep your secret. Just make sure nothing like that happens again, just the idea of being attracted to Nate makes me want to vomit." Rikki said smiling.
