As Ochako clicked the pen, her arm was forced back as a massive net surrounded by weights trapped Izuku, forcing him to the ground. "Agh! I can't move!" He struggled under the net, realizing that he was completely out of energy. "What... is this stuff?!" he asked the girl, yawning.
Ochako remained silent, taking cover behind Iida. The indigo-haired teen pushed his glasses up his nose. "Is that Sea Prism Stone?!" he asked, getting a closer look at the weights. "I've never seen it up close like this."
"What the hell is it?!" barked Katsumi, stomping on the boy.
"It's used to restrain devils," began Iida. "It's a part of the sea bed that has been submerged in the sea for so long that it has fused permanently with seawater, becoming a form of solid sea."
"Jeez!" said Katsumi, stomping harder on the boy's face, rubbing her boot on his cheek. "Not only did you leave for ten months, but you also ate devil fruit?!" she asked.
"He can't escape that, right?" asked Ochako.
Izuku stopped wriggling from under the net as he looked at the girl and paused. He then smiled. "Thank you!" he exclaimed.
Before anyone could ask what he meant, a small group of examinees formed around the four. "Oy…," said one of them. "What was the bounty for the Gomu Gomu no Mi, again?" he asked.
"I think it was 500 thousand yen," answered another. A massive wave of killing intent surrounded the group, showcasing their quirks as they prepared to kill the devil in front of them. However, before they could approach any further, Katsumi and Iida stepped in front of Izuku, protectively.
"Don't tell me you guys are willing to kill someone just for monetary gain!" shouted Iida.
"Tsk!" scoffed Katsumi. "If anybody's going to kill this bastard, it's me," she said, explosions forming in her hands.
Before either party was able to throw the first punch, a puff of black smoke appeared above the net. A strange man appeared crouching atop Izuku. "Oy, oy, oy," the tired-sounding man said. "The exam is over…, so get lost." He glared at the students, his long black hair covering one of his eyes. His words had told them to leave, but his smile dared them to try continuing.
The group disbanded, leaving Ochako, Iida, Katsumi, Izuku, and the strange man to their own devices. Standing up, still on top of Izuku, the man looked towards Katsumi and Ochako. "For hurting another examinee, you two will have 30 points deducted from your total scores." Katsumi was pissed, however, she knew that she still had more than enough points to pass. Ochako, on the other hand, was distraught as there was no way she could pass now.
The man then turned to Iida. "You will be rewarded ten extra points for stepping up to protect this idiot," he said before turning to Bakugou. "That goes for you too." The girl only scoffed in response.
He then looked downwards, locking eyes with the boy. "And you…," he began. "You'll be coming with me."
Izuku gulped.
"Ow!" exclaimed Izuku, receiving a fist to the top of the head. "I said I was sorry, Aizawa-sensei!"
"Sorry doesn't fix anything!" exclaimed Aizawam sitting across from the boy in his office. "Do you know how much you just lowered your chances of getting in, now?!" he asked. "Ten months of training, wasted!"
"It wasn't my fault-!"
"'Your body just moved on its own,'" he finished. "Yeah, yeah, I know." He sighed, running his hand down his face. "Whatever, there's not much we can do now, besides wait."
"What?!" asked Izuku. "Is there nothing you can do?!"
"Not when it comes to something like this," said the man. "The most I could do at this point is put in a good word for you to Nezu, and hope that he's feeling very sadistic..."
He sighed once more. "I'll see what I can do about it, but for right now I need to think. You're dismissed." Knowing that he would just be distracting the man if he said any more, Izuku left and made his way home.
Aizawa was left alone in his office. "How did I even find myself in this mess?"
The sun had set as Shota Aizawa had begun making his way home after doing some weekly grocery shopping when he stopped by Dagobah Municipal Beach Park. Normally he would walk right past the junkyard, however, he heard something that made him stop and look.
"Gomu Gomu no Pistol!" shouted a voice from within the park.
Peaking over the railing, Aizawa watched as a green-haired teenager used the powers of the Gomu Gomu no Mi in broad moonlight. He was shocked. "Is he an idiot?!" wondered the man, picking up a pebble from the side of the path. "If he gets seen doing that, who knows what'll happen to him!" He launched the pebbled towards the boy, hoping to let him know that this area was too open.
Izuku had just finished assaulting a refrigerator, preparing to move on to a washing machine before he felt every fiber of his being scream for him to duck. He promptly did so, dropping to the sand below. He was sweating heavily as he watched a rock soar past where his head just was. He turned to face the direction the pebble came from. "Who's there?!" he yelled.
"Those are some nice tricks," said a voice as a man emerged from the shadow of one of the surrounding piles of trash. Izuku's fists clenched as he mentally readied himself to fight the man. "Relax, kid," said the man. "My name is Shota Aizawa, better known as Eraser-head. I'm not here to turn you in."
Izuku loosened a bit. "Eraser-head, huh?" he asked. "What do you want from a devil like me?"
"Well," he began. "I'm curious as to why someone as young as yourself would eat a devil fruit, knowing it would ostracize you from your peers."
"I never had any 'peers,'" said Izuku. "I was quirkless. Quirkless people aren't given the luxury of peers, nor the ability to become a hero."
"So, you ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi to become a hero? That's not what I would call a step in the right direction. There's never been a hero who was a devil," said Aizawa.
"So what?" asked Izuku. "200 years ago, there were no such things as heroes at all; times can change... They do change." He began packing all of his things into his backpack. "Besides, I'm not just going to be any hero."
"Is that right?" asked Aizawa, his eyes narrowing on Izuku. "What kind of hero will you be?"
Izuku stood up, placing the strawhat on his head as he looked the man in the eye, furrowed his brow, and smiled. "I'm the man who's going to become the Number One hero."
From that day on, Aizawa always made sure to walk past Dagobah on his way home from work. As time passed, he would see things that Izuku could improve upon and shout things such as "Use your back more!" or "It's all in the hips!" These comments soon turned into full-blown lessons as Izuku began to refer to the man as "Aizawa-Sensei," no matter how much the man told him that he wasn't his teacher.
A week had passed as Izuku had received no word from Aizawa or UA, therefore he had decided to take matters into his own hands and made his way to UA. Besides, he had something important to discuss with the principal.
Arriving at his destination, after extensive searching and background checks from HoundDog, he waltzed right into the principal's office. "Principal Nezu!" he exclaimed, startling the mouse as he spat out his drink.
"M-Mr. Midoriya!" exclaimed the man. "What *cough* what can I help you with?"
"I want to give some of my points to that girl that trapped me in that Sea Prism net!" he said, dropping to the ground, bowing before the rat/human/…thing?
If the man had any more liquid in his mouth he would've done another spit-take. No human had ever bowed before him, and Izuku had just done it without hesitation! He put his amazement behind him as he walked towards his coffee maker. "Oh?" he asked. "And why would you want to do something like that? She probably hates you for costing her all of those points."
"Probably," said Izuku. "But I don't hate her!" Nezu's eyes widened as he finished his brewing. "I may be her enemy, but she is not mine!"
Nezu's hand shook as he poured his coffee. Then, an idea came to mind. "Unfortunately, I'm unable to just... give her some of your points, as her record has already been wiped from the system." He watched Izuku's face grow upset. This made him shake all the more as he over-poured his cup. He loved seeing that face on humans. "However, if you're willing, I can exchange your information for hers, meaning that she will be attending in place of you."
Izuku looked at the man before smiling widely. "Really?!" he asked. "Thank you so much! Tell her I said I was sorry for the scare and I can't wait until she becomes a pro!"
The man shook as he sipped his coffee, spilling some of it on his shirt. "You… You're dismissed, M-Mr. Midoriya," he said, sending the boy on his way home.
"So…," began a voice, sliding open the man's closet. "Did he pass?"
"With flying colors, Mr. Aizawa..." he snickered once more. "With flying colors."
The next day, at the Uraraka residence…
"I can't believe it!" shouted Omoiyari Uraraka, slamming her fist on the kitchen table. "What kind of security do they have there to let such an evil beast into the same place as our little girl?!"
"Seriously..." said Kitsubuki, Ochako's father. He looked towards his daughter. "You didn't answer any of its questions, right?"
"Never!" exclaimed Ochako. She had heard what happens when girls answer the questions of devils. They fall under their spell and become part of its… harem. She shivered at the thought.
"Good," said Omoiyari. "I couldn't bear the thought of purifying my own daughter."
"Don't say things like that, Omoiyari!" exclaimed Kitsubuki.
"'Purifying?'" asked Ochako. Before she could receive an answer, a letter bearing the gold UA emblem on the front slid through the Urarakas' mail slot.
"Huh?" asked Omoiyari. "I thought UA didn't send out rejection letters..."
"They don't!" exclaimed Ochako, grabbing the letter and ripping it. A small blue device dropped from inside, landing on the floor and turning itself on. Suddenly, a holographic version of Principal Nezu appeared before the three of them.
"Miss Uraraka!" exclaimed the mouse thing. "I first and foremost wish to congratulate you on making it into Class 1-A of the hero course."
The girl felt her heart speed up with excitement. "But… I thought that-"
"Now, you may be wondering what happened to all those points that you lost. This leads me to my next point." The screen behind the principal flashed on, revealing a bowing green-haired teen. "This is Izuku D. Midoriya, the man you trapped in your Sea Prism Stone net."
"Is that it?" asked Omoiyari. "Is that the devil?"
Ochako nodded as the man continued to play the video. "She probably hates you for costing her all of those points," said the principal.
The girl watched as the boy claimed she was not his enemy and begged the principal to exchange his spot for hers in Class 1-A.
"As you can see by this video, Miss Uraraka, Izuku harbors no feeling of hatred towards you. So, I suggest you start to reconsider your prejudices of devils, for they are as human as you and I, despite popular opinion." She heard her mother and father scoff at the man's words. "As a former victim of prejudice after earning my promotion to Principal, I understand what it feels like to have undeserved hatred pointed your way. I implore you, Miss Uraraka, please reconsider your views as there is no room for prejudice here at UA, thank you and congratulations." The video shut off, leaving the three of them to process the man's words.
"That's ridiculous!" shouted Omoiyari. "You can't be prejudiced against a devil! That's like saying it's prejudice to set up mousetraps because you don't want them contaminating your food!"
"Did you see how he bowed before Nezu?" asked Kitsubuki. "This is why we joined the church, Ochako, to keep devils from persuading people to get their way, just as that one did in the video."
"You got his name, right?" Kitsubuki asked his wife.
"I sure did," replied Omoiyari. "Wait until Zadkiel finds out about this."
After the dismantlement of the International Angel Society, a member of the society bought seven plots of land, building upon them seven massive facilities. Each facility was numbered from one through seven with a golden roman numeral laid out on the pathway in front of the entrances.
After being opened to the public, each facility was soon discovered to be a church of some kind. Each church contained a sanctuary, a school, a field for activities, and an office space. Each church was given one person to govern over them. This person was referred to as an Archangel, for whom the church was named.
Musutafu was home to the seventh church of the Angel Society, the Church of Zadkiel. Although, the Archangel Zadkiel always seemed to be out of town busy with other tasks.
Shoko Todoroki recoiled in pain, sliding backward in her father's training room as she recovered from his kick. Any kid would be happy to spend time with their father... unless their father was the Number Two pro hero Endeavor.
The two flame-quirked individuals clashed. "Consider yourself lucky," began Endeavor. "The UA Entrance Exam weeds out the trash and uselessness that try to call themselves heroes. Be grateful that your father doesn't tolerate humiliation and sent in that letter of recommendation."
"Yes, father," replied the quiet Shoko.
"Now, I will not tolerate humiliation by you proving my letter of recommendation wrong due to your weakness." Flames sprouted from all over his body. "Come! Prove to me you're worthy to call yourself a Todoroki!"
Shoko wiped the blood from her chin as she skated towards the man on a trail of fire that emerged from her feet. She quickly dodged under the kick that the hero had sent her way before turning and returning the kick to his back, sending him falling forward. He quickly caught himself as he turned to look at his daughter. "Always pay attention to your surroundings!" he exclaimed as the girl received a flaming basketball to the face. "Did you think that kick was meant for you?!"
The man had kicked a basketball that was now flaming and flying from wall to wall at great speeds. She was too focused on dodging the ball that she missed the man's fist approaching her face, slamming directly into her cheek and sending her to the ground.
Endeavor mounted Shoko, slamming fist after fist. "In battle, your enemy won't let up! So neither will I!" He slammed fist after fist into his daughter's chest and face.
"I give up!" she shouted.
"No!" he yelled back. "I won't tolerate quitting. It's not befitting of a Todoroki!"
She took blow after blow from the man before she realized if it kept going like this, she would be knocked out. The room began to grow cold as the girl panicked. The burn marks she received as a drawback of her quirk disappeared. As the man's final punch approached she raised her arm in defense, closing her eyes.
She heard what sounded like shattering glass. Opening her eyes, she saw ice shatter from the barrier she had reflexively created. The man stood tall above her, his eyes shadowed over. "You disappoint me again, Shoko." He raised his right foot high above the girl, trapping her under his other foot. "Don't ever use that bitch's power again!" he slammed his foot down onto his daughter's face, knocking her out in an instant. He gathered his coat and left the room, leaving Shoko on the ground, struggling for air. "Weak."
AN: I know that you guys may be wondering what the upload schedule is for this story, but I'm not even sure myself lol. I'm on vacation right now so I have more time to write. However, I go back to work next week. I've been able to pump out a chapter's worth of typing in about two days, but unfortunately, that's not all there is to making a good story. I wish I could say I'll update this story every week, but I doubt that'll be the case. Instead, I'm just going to try to work on this story as well as "Junction" during my free time. Work was super busy these last four weeks, resulting in me working about 200+ hours even though I'm only part-time lol. It's whatever though, I enjoy it. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the rest of this story, however often it gets updated.
