The class was left speechless, watching the devil in front of them showcase his power. "Y-You can't be serious," said a purple ball-headed student. "They let a devil into UA."
"It was bound to happen sooner or later," said Momo Yaoyorozu, feigning calmness.
"But it had to happen this year?" asked Mina Ashido. "Why does it always have to be me?"
Aizawa's head pulsed, causing him to look towards Shoko Todoroki.
The girl had grabbed Izuku by the throat. As her left hand was engulfed in flames, a small, single tear fell from her eye.
Aizawa dashed towards the girl. His eyes drifted towards Izuku, knowing he would need to stop him from retaliating, otherwise Izuku would prove everyone right about devils. However, what the boy did next shocked him.
Izuku smiled.
Aizawa stopped dead in his tracks as his mind raced with flashes of a familiar face from his past.
As Shoko's hand sped towards the boy's throat, an overwhelming sense of doom affected every student present.
"What's happening to them?!" asked Izuku. Bakugou and Todoroki shakily watched as each of their classmates fell to their knees.
The feeling stopped. As Shoko looked at the boy, her grip loosened. Before she could tighten it once more, a hand was placed on her shoulder. "Perhaps you didn't hear me the first time…," said Aizawa. "Do NOT harm another student."
Shoko let go of the boy, still shaken up. "It shouldn't be here," she said to the man. "It's only going to be causing problems."
"Tell me something that I don't know," thought Aizawa.
"What… What the hell was that?!" asked Denki Kaminari, standing up as he tried to calm his heavy breathing. "W-Was that the devil who did that?"
"Th-That was me,' said the scrawny blonde man. "It's my quirk."
"That's your quirk?!" asked Eijiro Kirishima. "That's a crazy quirk! You should totally be a hero!" The man smiled at Kirishima's remark.
"Can we please focus on the fact that there is a devil standing right in front of us?!" yelled Mineta, taking cover behind Momo. "Is that something that we're just gonna ignore?"
"I don't see what the big deal is," said Kirishima, walking towards Izuku. "It's not very manly to hate someone because of what they did in their past." As he neared the boy, he stuck his fist out. "I'm not sure what led to you becoming a devil, but as long as you're here to become a hero, you're okay in my book." The two fist-bumped each other.
"Thank you for being reasonable, Kirishima," said Aizawa. He looked towards his class. "That's more than can be said for some of you. Listen up! This boy is a part of UA's hero course, the same as you idiots. If any unauthorized harm comes his way, the responsible party will be expelled."
He then looked towards Izuku. "And if this idiot harms any of you without permission, then he too will be expelled. While you are within the confines of UA, you are all equal."
"Sensei," began Momo, raising her hand. "If he is in our class, then why was he not in homeroom with us?"
"He's not in your class," replied the man. "He's in the hero course, yes. However, he's in his own separate class that was made just for him: Class 1-Z."
"'1-Z?'" asked Tenya Iida. "Would it not have been easier to just fit an extra student in 1-A or 1-B?"
"Of course it would've been," answered Aizawa, smacking Izuku. "However, this idiot gave up his spot for one of you bozos, so now he's not allowed to be in that class. Plus, we think it best to keep him separate from the rest of the student body for a while until things calm down.
"Until he can matriculate into one of your classes, I will be teaching him when I'm done with your homeroom." Aizawa looked one last time at Shoko, trying not to make it too obvious. "One more time, DO NOT harm Midoriya."
"Is it true?" asked an upperclassman to Tenya Iida as he made his way through the cafeteria, hoping to get a healthy lunch in for the day. Ochako walked with him even though she had brought her lunch.
"Is what true?"
"Is there really a devil in your guys' class?" asked the senior. "That's all everyone's been talking about since first period."
"Of course it's not true," said another senior, grabbing the shoulder of the former. "The first-years always tell some crazy rumor when they start attending, hoping to gain some fervor with the second and third-years."
"Move out of my way, extras," said Katsumi as she burst through the group. "You idiots are holding up the whole line, now get moving."
"Huh?!" asked the latter of the seniors. "Who the hell do you think you are?"
Katsumi glared at the boy. "I don't think you really wanna find out, dickhead."
"Is that so?" The boy cracked his knuckles. "You should learn to respect your upperclassmen… perhaps, you learn better when you're taught the hard way."
"You're not supposed to start fights," said a voice as it made its way through the line. "Don't you remember what Aizawa said?" A hand placed itself on Katsumi's shoulder before a boy made his way in between the two of them.
"And who the hell are you?" asked the tall boy.
"Midoriya Izuku."
"Is that supposed to mean something to me?" asked the boy, sizing up Izuku as he stood tall over the boy.
"Maybe not to you," Izuku took his eyes away from the boy. "But, your friend here was asking about me."
"I- I was?" asked the girl before a revelation hit her. "W… wait- you don't mean?!"
"Midoriya!" exclaimed Iida. "You shouldn't tell-!"
"I'm a devil," said the boy. "I ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi, turning me into a rubber human." He stretched his neck high in the air before he himself looked down on the boy. "Do we still have a problem?"
The boy slowly backed away in fear before taking off in a full-on sprint out of the cafeteria. It was then that Izuku noticed that he had achieved the attention of what he assumed was about a quarter of the student body.
He smiled, stepping onto a nearby table. "Listen up!" he yelled. "I'm a devil!"
"What the hell is that idiot doing?" thought Katsumi. "He must really have a death wish."
"If any of you have a problem with that, you're more than welcome to fight me! I'll kick all of your asses if I have to!" he continued, ushering a bunch of ugly looks. "Although none of you are my enemies, I won't let you get in my way to becoming Number One!"
"Ai-Aizawa…," began Nezu, snickering. "Do you remember how you wanted to keep Midoriya being a devil a secret for as long as possible?"
The man groaned. "What now?"
"That idiot," said Aizawa as he watched a horde of reporters crowd the UA gates. "He just couldn't help himself, could he?" He approached the reporters.
"Eraser-Head!" shouted a female reporter. "Is it true that there is a devil attending UA?"
The man groaned as he pressed a button on the side of the gate. "Buzz off." A huge steel door rose from the ground between the horde and Aizawa.
"Dammit, Midoriya…," thought the man. "Those bastards are gonna run that story regardless, and if I lie, then UA's rep goes down the toilet." He rubbed his hand down his face. "You really dug us into a hole."
"Is everyone here?" asked All Might, standing in front of the entrance to Ground Beta as he faced Class 1-A.
"Yessir!" shouted Tenya Iida. "Everyone is present and accounted for!"
"Perfect!" exclaimed the hero. "Now, who can tell me why we are here?"
Iida raised his hand. "This is one of the battle centers from the entrance exam, so we must be conducting urban battles again!
"Close," began the hero. "But no! Instead, we are going to move two steps ahead!" The man stepped to the side to reveal a yellow box with a hole on the top. "Most of the time, fighting villains takes place outside, but if you look at the total numbers, atrocious villains appear indoors at a much higher rate!
"For this class, you'll be split into heroes and villains and fight 2-on-2 indoor battles."
"Without basic training, kero?" asked Tsuyu Asui.
"This is a battle to better understand those basics. If I teach you the basics now, you'll have nothing to base them on, making them harder to remember. However, the key this time is that there is no robot that you can just beat up."
"Then how shall wins and losses be determined?" asked Momo.
"Good question, Young Yaoyorozu!" exclaimed the man. "The situation is that the villains have hidden a nuclear weapon somewhere in their hideout. The heroes are trying to dispose of that.
"The heroes need to catch the villains or get the nuclear weapon back in the allotted time. Meanwhile, the villains need to protect the nuclear weapon the whole time or catch the heroes.
"Teams will be decided by drawing lots!"
"How will teams be even when there are 19 of us?" asked Iida. "Not to mention drawing lots seems to be a very haphazard way of choosing teams."
"Oftentimes, pros have to create makeshift teams with heroes from other agencies," answered Momo. "As for the 19 people, it's possible that one of us will be going twice."
"Exactly right!" exclaimed All Might. "Although, I feel like I'm forgetting something…"
"Gomu Gomu no…!" echoed a voice from the far end of the tunnel leading to the facility. "Rocket!" None other than Izuku Midoriya came shooting through the tunnel at an astonishing speed.
As the boy exited the tunnel, he skidded to a stop. He was clad in a green patchwork kimono that he had tied around his waist, his strawhat sitting comfortably between his shoulder blades.
Katsumi looked the boy up and down. "When the hell did he get all that muscle?" she wondered. "Where was that bastard for ten months…?"
"Midoriya!" said All Might. "I knew that I was forgetting someone!"
"Aizawa filled me in already, All Might," said Izuku. "Let's fight!"
"That's the spirit!"
"We aren't really doing this, right?!" yelled Mineta. "You want to pair that thing up against two of your students? Are you trying to get us killed?!"
"As much as I don't like it either," said Shoko. "This is All Might's class, so if things get out of hand, we should have faith that All Might will step in."
"Exactly, Young Shoko!" exclaimed the man. "I was also informed about Aizawa's rules, so if Young Midoriya here gets too out of line, he will be expelled." The man proceeded to draw lots from the box, eventually making his way through all of the names.
"Looks like we're on the same team, Uraraka-san!" said a giddy Izuku. "Let's show Iida and Bakugou what real heroes look like!"
Before the girl could react, the voice of Katsumi emerged from behind the two.
"Oy, oy, oy…" Izuku turned around. "Don't you think that you're getting a little ahead of yourself, Deku?" She glared at the boy, unable to keep the excitement from making her smile.
"Not at all," said Izuku, returning the look.
Small sparks erupted from the girl's hands. "I've been waiting to see just how strong that stupid fruit made you."
"Be my guest."
"All right, you two," said All Might. "Save your energy for the battle."
"All Might's correct, Bakugou," said Iida. "We should be inside, developing a plan. Not trash-talking the enemy."
"I'll see you inside… Deku."
A short time later, after the villains had time to set everything up, the heroes made their way inside. Uraraka followed Izuku from a distance. "Never answer their questions." Her mother's voice wrang from inside the girl's head.
"What are you thinking, Uraraka?" asked Izuku. "Knowing, Kacchan, she's not going to go down easy, so we're gonna need a plan."
Izuku waited for an answer as he peeked around a corner, making sure no one was around. "Uraraka?" The boy turned around to find an empty hallway. He stepped forward, thinking that the girl had taken a wrong turn, only to hear a crunch from beneath his foot. "Her earpiece…?"
Izuku clenched his fists. "Dammit."
"One hero captured; one remaining," said the voice of All Might as it boomed over the speakers of the building.
"What were you thinking, Uraraka?" asked Iida as he stood over the captured female. "Are you and Midoriya planning something…? Why else would you come here by yourself so recklessly?"
"Don't be an idiot, four-eyes," said Katsumi. "She came here on her own cause she's scared of that shitty nerd."
"You don't know what I know," said Ochako. "I don't want to be alone with that thing. I-I-It's not natural!"
"Shut the hell up," said Katsumi, kicking the girl across the face. She squatted down before grabbing the girl's face, preventing her from moving. "There's real evil out there in the world, and you're worried about some shitty nerd who ate a fruit."
She let go of the girl. "I've known that bastard for years. The only thing that has changed about him after eating that damn fruit was that he now has the power to back up his big ass mouth." She turned her back on the two as she made her way out of the room.
"Bakugou, it's better if we both stay here!" exclaimed Iida. "Where are you going?!"
"I'm going to go down there and kick Deku's ass, maybe then I can prove to you bigots that he's nothing more than an idiot who made a bad decision."
Izuku snuck through the halls of the building, searching for Katsumi and Iida. "Deku!" shouted a voice from a nearby room before a massive explosion tore through the wall next to the boy. "There you are…"
"Kacchan?!" exclaimed Izuku. "I guess you decided that since my teammate was captured, I would be less of a challenge, huh?"
"Not at all," said the girl, smoke rising from her hands. "I knew that she wouldn't be able to get in your way now."
A determined smile grew on his face. "You're right," said the boy, cracking his knuckles.
"Woah, Woah, Woah…," said Minoru Mineta. "She's going to take on the devil all by herself?" The students were watching the battle take place through multiple different camera feeds. "Is she crazy?"
"Quite the contrary," thought All Might. "She's trying to show you all that you're the crazy ones."
"She thinks you're evil!" exclaimed Katsumi as she ducked under one of Izuku's attacks. "She called you 'unnatural.'"
"That's her right," said Izuku, sending his leg flying towards the girl. "Gomu Gomu no Whip!"
Katsumi propelled herself in the air before dodging the attack and grabbing Izuku's leg, preventing him from snapping it back into place. "Hah!"
Before she knew it, Izuku came flying towards her, using his free leg to kick the girl, forcing her to let go. "It won't be that easy!"
The girl skidded to a stop. "That's what I was hoping!" She blasted herself towards the boy once more. As he sent a fist towards the girl, she propelled herself over him, angling herself towards his back before delivering a massive explosion.
Izuku zoomed to the wall of the building, slamming into and cracking it. He quickly steadied himself back on his feet. "I see you weren't sitting around for 10 months," he said.
"That's right." The girl raised her right palm, flipping a switch on her gauntlet, revealing a pin. "I was training to become the Number One." She slowly pulled the pin out of place. "Die!" A huge explosion shattered through the side of the building. Izuku soared across the street into a parallel building.
The air fell quiet.
"Tsk," scoffed Katsumi. "Here I thought that you could take something like that." The girl turned her back as she began walking back to the bomb site. "I guess your still nothing more than a boy with a big head."
"Who are you turning your back on?!"
The girl turned around, facing the dust cloud that had been kicked up in the other building. "Gomu Gomu no ROCKET!" Izuku shot across the street, using his arms as a slingshot. "Nobody said I was done!"
The boy flipped in the air, his feet pointing towards his opponent. "Gomu Gomu no…!" The soles of his feet slammed together as his knees bent. "Spear!" His legs shot forward as he drilled the girl right in the chest, delivering a blow as strong as her gauntlet.
The girl coughed blood as she received the blunt-force attack. However, before she could go flying, she stomped her boot on the ground, using all her strength attempting to prevent any movement. She had managed to grab onto Izuku's leg, which aided in her attempt.
The girl had let go of the boy, causing him to snap his legs back into place as he landed back inside the building. The girl had stopped smiling. "Let's end this…" She raised her other hand, angling the gauntlet once again at Izuku.
Izuku was breathing heavily. "Yeah…," said the boy. He shot his leg high through the building, smashing through each floor of the building on its way up. "Gomu Gomu no…!"
The girl flipped the switch on the gauntlet as Izuku's foot broke through the roof.
"DIE!"/ "STAMP!"
Izuku's foot came slamming down the way it came, landing on the girl's head. At the same time, she pulled the pin to her gauntlet releasing an even more devastating blast than last time.
As she broke through the floors below, face-first, Izuku once again flew out towards the street, shattering through multiple buildings on his way.
"Holy SH-!"
"Villains Win!" shouted All Might into his tiny microphone. He pressed a button, releasing Recovery Girl's robots onto the scene to collect Katsumi and Izuku. "If Young Midoriya was not made of rubber…" The man clenched his fist. "I had to let it play itself out."
"She beat it," said a big-lipped student of the class, looking at the screen that showed an unconscious Izuku.
"So then, what does that make her?" asked Shoko. She was looking at another screen, showcasing the unconscious Bakugou. Although unconscious, the two student's brows were furrowed.
Meanwhile, in an abandoned, but well-kept bar, two men were conspiring. "Oy, Kurogiri… look more into this," said a man, twirling a shot glass as he placed a newspaper in front of his colleague. "POSSIBLE DEVIL AT UA HIGH!"
"Of course, Shigaraki Tomura."
