Since this is the world of Vampire Knights, that means it wouldn't make sense for Danny to be referred to as a "halfa" since there are more creatures than just ghost and human. Thus "halfa" is just ghost slang for what Danny really would be referred to as: the embodiment of life and death in balance, {WIP}.

Warnings: Spoilers, Minor OOCness, and Possible Canon-Divergence. I'll be honest, I've only watched the anime so far, which would obviously skip a lot of content, but I am in fact using information I find on the Wikis as well, which means Manga spoilers ahead. I'm also not the greatest at having the characters fully in character, but I'll still try. Another thing I'm bad at is changing up the canon events but I'm going to try having things make sense, which means if Danny's added to the story obviously some things are gonna be different.

Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom, that honor belongs to Butch Hartman, or Vampire Knight, which was created by Matsuri Hino.

3rd Person POV - Danny Centered - Cross Academy Entrance

It's been almost a year since Danny first half-died, thus becoming a half-ghost. He is now 15, and a sole wanderer. His family and friends still live, it's just not something he would like to think about at the moment.

Danny stood in front of the large gates of Cross Academy's entrance, his new school, in Japan. Clockwork had sent him through a portal with a school bag containing some legal documents and an envelope. One of those ones that have a single strap and resemble briefcases more than backpacks - a satchel, that's what it was called!, along with a note telling him to ask the principal to be placed in the Night Class and to show off his elongated canines for whatever reason. Danny knows something's up, but doesn't know what, yet, something's always up with Clockwork involved. A passing thought made Danny laugh a bit if he didn't know better he'd think Clockwork wants him to be mistaken as a vampire or werewolf or something. As if. The closest thing Danny knows to a real vampire is Vlad.

The elongated canines had actually freaked him out a bit a first along with his ears getting pointier, partially worried he was losing more of his humanity or becoming more like HIM but after all his teeth finished their growing a bit larger and typically sharper, especially his canines, and getting used to them both mentally and physically, they stopped appearing in his human form and only showed on his ghost form, in which case they became more amusing scare tactics when his enemies were being too annoying. Though the small thrill from scaring his enemies was new and a bit concerning when he had time to reflect on it he realized he still had all his own personality traits in tact and still behaved like the hero he is he wasn't too concerned about it after a while - it also helped a bit that he made Dash squeal when he hadn't had full control on his teeth yet, that was a good day, he managed to convince the freaked out Dash they were fake teeth the next day. Which just got him labeled as a "freak" more often, which didn't bother him too much coming from Dash.

He remained getting concerned however as his new traits didn't stop there though, the fact his senses increases yet again and his eyes could do more than just see like regular, which was actually a awesome getting to see space in colours usually reserved for infra-red telescopes, plus the incredibly gross ecto-acne, migraine like headaches, from his overwhelming senses, and occasional different eye colours, he doesn't like the red that shows when seriously angry, gave him enough hints that he was going through some kind of ghostly infused puberty - at least he finally got his growth spurt and another hair on his chest. Clockwork helped him control micro-transformations and manage his new senses as to not be overwhelmed by them, though really he just gave him tips and told him to figure it out himself while fighting his enemies, he really was extremely tempted to completely evaporate Ember's guitar that month and stuff the ashes down her throat - to say the least he was incredibly agitated throughout the whole process which had led to many ghost actually avoiding him instead of taking advantage of his over-powered/weakened state, many but not all, Skulker, Technus, and Boxy had what was coming for them.

In any case, Danny walks through the front gate where the other students were beginning to leave, getting more than a few looks thrown his way, his hearing picking up a few girls calling him cute or hot and wondering if he's a new night class student, a few others - guys included - were making comments on his clothes and lack of uniform making a few wonder if he's going to register as a student. Danny blushed a bit at the first part, not used to his human side getting such positive attention - unaware that he'd be considered truly good looking and probably would've been an honorary A-lister on looks alone if not for his parents, friends, and behavior.

Danny continued asking a few people for help with directions to the principals - sorry - headmaster's office, a few girls squealing and swooning when he asked them so he mostly asked guys. Danny showed his nervousness to the girl's reactions with his nervous expression and tick of rubbing the back of his neck which just caused a lot more squealing which was really starting to hurt his advanced hearing at that point, so he hurried to the office.

POV of Kaien Cross, The Headmaster of Cross Academy

The Headmaster, Kaien Cross, looked up from his desk when he heard a knock at his door, "Come in." The Headmaster was soon greeted by the sight of a pretty good looking guy, not quite at the level of the better looking night students' but close, which considering their looks were outright supernatural is a fairly impressive feat, and considering how he's holding himself more abashed, probably due to my students mainly of the female variety, than condescendingly confident or as if being forced into being here he most likely wasn't a vampire. Though it's not like it's impossible he's a D-class, turned by a pureblood, and only just became a vampire, well I'll see what he has to say first.

"Hello. Um, I'm here to register as a student."

"Alright, please sit. Would like some tea?"

"Oh, uh, yes please, thanks."

"So what's your name young man?"

"Ah, Danny, Sir. Daniel Work. But please just call me Danny, I don't really use my last name and just came from America."

Well that's surprising, he doesn't often get transfer students from abroad, especially Americans. Not to mention you can't get dual citizenship in Japan so at least one of his parents must've been Japanese and he must've been born here before going to America. I suppose he'll have to get used to the customs here though from what he said. It's also surprising how well he speaks Japanese further solidifying he probably has at least one Japanese parent.

"Well welcome to Japan, Danny-san. The tea's almost ready, so is there some specific reason you chose this school?"

"Ah that's right. I'd like to register to the Night Class."

Pause. I turn around to see the kid giving me a toothy smile, with teeth that definitely not human anymore, and for some reason just a bit more animalistic than the usual vampire's, actually all of his teeth but especially his fangs were wider than normal which if I didn't know better would make me think he were a werewolf rather than a vampire, but I haven't heard of werewolves existing outside of legends. It actually sent an involuntary chill down his spine for some reason, which considering what I deal with and have dealt with is another feat, he's not even snarling just sincerely smiling which for some reason unnerved me more. Now things are beginning to make some sense while new questions arise, I won't be too strict on his documents now, it seems likely they'll possibly be forged anyways, most Vampires don't actually have the most accurate documents considering their long lifespans and everything. Probably wouldn't be much use asking about his parents either, perhaps I can ask about other relations he has, though many Ex-human D-class or C-class vampires get defensive about the person who turned them, especially to humans.

He might not even be a Ex-human though now that I think about it, sure I basically has an appearance and name for every pureblood or A-class in Japan, but this Danny did just claim to come from America, I don't know about any vampires there. He could also have been born to common or Level C vampires, instead of being turned, which would keep him from records and would explain how he knows about the night class here at Cross Academy but that doesn't explain his behavior.

He moves himself confidently despite his nervousness and earlier bashfulness when he first entered my office but doesn't seem condescending or like he's looking down on me for being human either, he also seems to hold himself in subtly defensive positions as if ready for an attack at any time. Was he perhaps only recently turned and did so willingly, or was he born to either an ex-human or human? That would explain his behaviors best since he behaves like a normal human for the most part, perhaps one used to fighting, but not one not yet used to their own skin as many newly turned are. Well I can just ask, I've probably been staring a bit too long anyways seeing as he looks like he's getting nervous.

"I see. Alright, I can enroll you for the night class right away then, if you can just answer a few questions that'd be great. So what class are you?"

He looked confused for a moment but quickly replied, "Ah well, I've always dreamed of becoming an astronaut one day so maybe classes towards that goal! Some sciences would be cool too." Danny was enthusiastically talking about his dream to be among the stars and what classes he should probably take while here which did make me smile but also feel a bit bitter knowing that if he really did only recently it hasn't set in just yet that just how improbable that dream is with his new biology.

"Hahaha, -I get lightly glared at- sorry sorry, it's just that I meant what classification are you, not what classes you wanted to take, though I suppose the latter is good to know?"

"Classification?"

"Oh my, you didn't know. Tell me, Danny-san, how much do you know about the night class and what you are?"

Danny stared at me in what seemed to be an analyzing way for a second then shrugged, "Not much honestly, a friend of mine was the one who told me to apply for the night class here at Cross Academy, and they tend to know things but not tell me, preferring I find things out myself mostly." Was that a trick of the light? I was carefully watching Danny as he was answering my questions and it seemed like he suddenly shifted his seating position slightly, hand, shoulder, and breath placement but without moving, ah well since I doubt he can teleport and just did so to change his sitting position I'm going to go with me just having missed his movements. "To answer your second question, I still don't understand the full extent of what I am, but the night class is for vampires right?" Why did he look a bit annoyed now? It seems he really was turned then, which leaves the questions as to whether he drank the blood of his pureblood or if he's resisting.

"Oh good, so you do know then, since you know the night class is full of vampires, that makes this conversation easier. What I'm trying to do with the Night Class is bridge the gap between humans to hopefully stop all the fighting. I've only got a few more questions for you then. First, prove to me that you're actually a vampire and not a hunter with shaved or fake teeth, flash your eyes red for me please."

Danny's annoyed look went away with the part about stopping the fighting and he actually smiled but then gained a new minor annoyed look as he seemed to register my request to make his eyes glow but he seems to have resigned himself to something and closed his eyes, when they opened they were literally glowing a bright soul burning crimson.

Chill.

Okay yeah, that must've been some kind of show of power, he's certainly different from other kinds of vampires, even by vampire standards those glowing red eyes were terrifying and abnormal, none of the vampires I know have such a dark red, though there is a glow so it's not too abnormal, maybe it's some kind of mutation, well it doesn't matter that much. Then again maybe I should trust my instincts that there is something off and wrong about that red.

There was suddenly a knock at the door and in came my adoptive daughter. "Yuuuukiiiiii!" Danger instincts gone.

Danny was giving me an incredulous expression with his mouth slightly ajar.

"Oh, sorry Headmaster didn't know you were talking with someone. Who's this?"

"My name's Danny, nice to meet you."

"Oh, nice to meet you too, my name's Cross Yuki."

"Danny-san here is an American transfer student about to join the night class. Danny this is my daughter, Yuki."

Yuki's eyes widen, "Oh! So your a vampire then!"

Danny's eyes widen momentarily and looked to me seeming to silently question if everyone knows what the night class students are.

"Don't worry Danny-san, my daughter here is part of the disciplinary committee or guardians so only her and Zero-kun are the only two day class students that know about the true nature of the night class. They'll also be the ones along with Kaname-sama from the night class to be keeping all the rest of you in the night class in check. So long as you don't break any of the rules and stick to the blood supplements you should be fine though."

"Understood Sir."

"Oh right! I almost forgot to ask, 3 more quick questions: I take it you don't know what the classifications or levels are yet?"

"No Sir, not yet."

"Alright, you can ask Kaname-sama or any of the other vampires later for all the extra details on that, it seems though that you are most likely a level D or C though, someone turned by a pureblood vampire into a lesser vampire themselves. All vampires, though especially level Ds or Cs, are compelled to obey whatever a Pureblood says, which is why Kaname-sama as a pureblood who agrees with my philosophies is in charge of the night class dorms. Level Cs are regular vampires and ex-humans who drank the blood of the level A or Pureblood that turned them, those ex-humans that become level Cs or regular vampires become servants unable to disobey or kill their masters, the Pureblood that turned them."

Danny nods to show his understanding.

"Based on your mostly human behavior I'm assuming you turned only recently, but it would still be best to know for sure, did you used to be human? If so can you tell me how long it's been since then?"

Danny puts on a thinking face, "Yeah, about a year and half ago I guess."

I nod to his response, "Okay last question - I put on a serious face - have you drank any blood yet? Your pureblood's or a humans?"

Danny's eyes widen in what looks to be a mix of horror and surprise before vehemently shaking his head, "No sir, I haven't." So he's a level D resisting then, though it is impressive control considering he could control his red eyes at will, though that also means I'll have to have Kaname keep an extra careful eye on him since he could become a level-E easily if he loses his mind.

"Then how have you survived to this point and looking healthy at that?"

"Uh." Danny's eyes widen a bit as a look of realization came to his face, then pulls out a metal tin from his bag and showed me. Now it was my turn for my eyes to widen for what he had in his hand was the Cross Academy blood supplements, just how did he get those?

"My friend gave these to me." Just who is this "friend" of Danny's?

"Would you be willing to tell me this friend of yours is exactly?"

Danny just shakes his head in the negative before replying, "No. They prefer to be anonymous."

I sigh, that's about what I expected but still a bit disappointing.

"Alright well all should be in order, you'll of course be watched for a bit while your here but don't be afraid to ask any questions you may need or to ask for help."

"Thank you Sir, just one last question."

"Hm."

"Can I still attend some day classes for the courses I'd need to become an astronaut?"

I widen my eyes in surprise not expecting that, I also can't help the smile that breaks out for the young boy who still wants to follow his dream despite everything that's happened to him.

"I can arrange something, I'm sure. Though that will mean you'll be getting a lot less sleep than your peers."

Danny actually laughed at that. I noticed my little Yuki turn her head away quickly, seeing how her cheeks are dusted red probably to hide a blush, oh yeah I'd definitely need to keep an eye out on him. Though genuine laughter is rare around here, everything can be so melodramatic at times, so I can see why she thought pleasantly of it.

"Oh don't worry Sir, I'm quite used to that, I'll be fine. Thank you again, Sir."

"Please, just call me Cross-Sensei."

Danny seemed to realize something, "Ohhhh, Cross is a surname, -he turns to face my daughter who was now watching the two of them again silently- so then your name is Yuki. Once again nice to meet you."

Direct attack. Yuki didn't turn fast enough to hide her blush at being called her first name like that, though it was rude especially without the use of honorifics I'll let it slide as he's just recently come to Japan from America.

My smile drops, both due to my daughter growing up too quickly and that I just remembered how unlikely it is that Danny'll actually be able to accomplish his dream.

"Remember Yuki-chan, Danny's from America so he may need some time and help getting used to our customs."

"Ah was that rude of me, sorry."

"No no, well a bit, but it's fine." Yuki replies. "Once again, it's nice to meet you Danny-san hopefully we'll learn a lot together from now on." She offers a polite smile.

"Likewise. Well then I don't have much on me besides this satchel so I'll be grabbing my duffle bag with my stuff tomorrow, could you lead me to the dorms?"

"Of course, I just came here to drop off these documents anyways. See you later, Headmaster."

With tears in my eyes, "Please, just call me father..."

They already left.

Ah. I forgot to ask why he wanted to join the night class and how he speaks such excellent Japanese without knowing our customs or honorifics.

Well he seemed a nice enough boy, I'm sure there'll be nothing to worry about, then again he's still fairly new to being a vampire and the smell of blood may just be enough to drive him over the edge. I'll make sure to have an eye kept on him for now.

Hopefully he enjoys his time at this school and behaves, now to go make that schedule for him.

Was that green in his eyes at that time? Probably a trick of the light, his eyes are a brilliant icy-blue.

3rd Person POV - Danny Centered - Cross Academy Night Class Dorm Entrance

"There aren't too many night class students so you'll all have the same schedule, which makes things easier. Their class actually begins in about a half-an-hour so it's up to you if you'd like to stay in the dorms to familiarize yourself or we can leave in ten minutes and I can show you where your new class is currently being held so that you can introduce yourself to everyone right away and familiarize yourself with the directions to said class." Yuki suggested.

Danny thought about it for a moment and decided that he probably wouldn't be received very well to just be a stranger in the sleeping area of a bunch of actual - honest to Clockwork - VAMPIRES. Cue nervous anime sweat drop.

"I'll check out which room is mine then you can show me where that class is. So, where would I be sleeping?"

"Ah. About that. I'm not actually sure, as I don't typically go into the night class dorms outside of special circumstances so I don't know which rooms are taken. You know it probably would've been best to actually just start by going to the classroom now that I think about it. My bad."

Feel free to take this off my hands at any time. I mostly write to inspire others to make stories of their own within these crossover categories. I'll still continue to write, I suppose, even if this is adopted so I suppose adopt to share custody? I guess. In any case, you can feel free to use word per word of any o my works if you really want to, rather than offended I'd be honored if someone did well continuing what I wrote. Just give me a bit of the credit for what I do write and/or let me know so that I can read it too.

I honestly don't have any real direction I wanna go with this so far, I've really only watched the anime so I suppose I'll have to read the manga for more plot to work with. That being said, I do wanna practice my comedy a bit and what better way to practice than in the fire, putting comedic things in an otherwise fairly serious show would be difficult which should make for decent practice.

I've got no ships planned, as the only girl we really get to know in the show is Yuki, though she's got two powerful people fighting for her already and while she does have her good points I'm not certain I want Danny entangled in that mess. Maybe. It's undecided. Either way, while I may still come up with a pairing it won't be too large of a focus in this story. Hopefully.

Well, 'til next time. Don't expect regular updates, I'm very sporadic.
