The day was beautiful with a light breeze with a ebony Hedgehog standing on a hill with a tree covering him for some shade while he stood watching the city with a newspaper getting caught on his leg that reads "FIRE IN THE SKY FESTIVAL* Celebration! 50 Year return of Black Comet!".The wind picked up again and blew the newspaper away."Shadow the Hedgehog... Why does that name haunt me? It's the only thing I can remember. And that gruesome image…"
The ebony hedgehog said with a memory of him and a girl running down a hallway of sorts and then a soldier shooting a girl."MARIA!" The hedgehog said in his flashback."Who am I... and why can't I remember anything? And who is this Maria?"The hedgehog said.
Suddenly the sky over the city was consumed in a black and red cloud and with a opening in the center of the cloud and thunder roaring from the clouds with some weird creatures raining down from the sky and flooding the minutes the city is in chaos and the hedgehog decided to stay and watch and after about 10-15 minutes the whole city was in ruin.
"Hmm, look how pathetic they are! I don't have time for these humans." The Hedgehog said
"Shadow…" a quite raspy voice said
Shadow stood there with a look of shock on his face before turning around then a starfish like floating alien appeared and projected a hologram of a giant alien."As you can see, the day of reckoning will soon be here. Find the SEVEN Chaos Emeralds and bring them to me as promised." The hologram said."Huh? Who are you and how do you know I'm Shadow? And what are you talking about?" Shadow said."The promised time is here." The projection says and fades away with the alien flying away and a bunch of explosions around Shadow went off before he could chase after the alien.
"Just what the hell was that all about? If he says he knows the truth about who I am... then like it or not, I have to believe him. The only way I'm going to get the secret of my past is to get those Chaos Emeralds!"Shadow said before he ran off into the city hoping the aliens would guide him to what he was looking for.
Westopolis: A City In RuinThe aliens were running rampant through the city destroying buildings and cars killing soldiers and people while they were a blue blur came speeding through the city taking aliens out in a flash before he had to stop and assess the situation he was was able to find a group of GUN Soldiers to fill him in."Hey what's going on here?" Sonic asked. "The black aliens started falling from the sky and started attacking. We are trying to get to the Chaos Emerald we were transporting to a more secure facility before anything happens to it." one of the gun soldiers said. "So that's why they must be here!" Sonic said
Shadow was speeding through running up a building set up almost like a ramp before reaching the top and diving down. Hmm.. 'The promised time' huh? Well then, time to go fulfill this promise." Shadow said to himself as he reached the ground and started running through seeing lasers bombard the city from the sky, soldiers and aliens shooting each other.A GUN soldier was killed right by Shadow and had a pistol on checked it out before releasing the clip and reloading with a full magazine the soldier had on him. '10 shots…let's make them count." Shadow said aloud.
"Hey it's Shadow!"A soldier said soldier were happy to have a force like Shadow on their side…or so they happiness faded to terror when Shadow aimed the pistol at the soldiers and one by one they were shot dead."5 left" SHadow said refering to bullets in his one of the soldiers started crawling realizing they were not dead Shadow shot them point blank range "4" he said once more took off through the city before running into Sonic.
"Hey Shadow, long time no see,I would love to chat but we have to stop these black aliens." Sonic said."Why would I help you?" Shadow said "Now's not the time to be a jerk now come on" Sonic said. "Shadow, you are late" a raspy voice said, belonging to the starfish alien. "I am Doom's Eye and I will be watching you." the alien said. "Wait, you're working for them?!" Sonic didn't reply, only shot his gun at Sonic but the blue blur was too fast and he decided he needed to try and weaken him first so engaged in hand to hand combat with the hedgehog.
"Shadow, don't you remember me?"Sonic asked."No,I don't remember anything and these aliens do know who I am,". Shadow Sonic could reply he was shot in the back by one of the laser guns from the aliens and was knocked to the ground and before he could get back up Shadow kicked him in the skull and pointed the Pistol at Sonic's Shadow pulled the trigger he saw a alien hit one of the soldiers with a laser gun and the way they fell gave him a memory of this Maria person falling backwards the same way with a gun didn't know what it meant and filled him with sadness…Tears forming in his backed away from Sonic lowering his was able to get up "What are you doing…He dares to defy us…make him suffer." Doom's Eye was know pissed shooting the alien that Shot the soldier and beat the lifeless corpse of the alien to a pile of broken bones and mush. "Shadow…What are you doing?!" The alien said. "Go to hell Black Doom" Shadow said, aiming his pistol right at Doom's Eye."Very well Shadow…your defiance has been noted" the alien said before floating off.
"Good to have you back Shadow now let's-" Sonic stopped once he realized Shadow was was going on a rampage killing the aliens left and then came across what he was looking for."A Chaos Emerald" Shadow said to himself it was a small diamond like gem that was was locked in a special cage inside a wrecked GUN truck with soldiers surrounding went marching up to the soldiers."Hey Shadow we got this area under control for know but maybe other parts of the city may need your help." one of the soldiers said."I'm not here to help im here to learn about my past" Shadow said aggressively "We can tell you about yo-" The soldier was cut off "Why would I trust anyone who killed Maria!?" Shadow said more aggressively this didn't know who this Maria person was and why he cared but all he remembered from earlier was the sadness and anger he felt when that one soldier that soldiers were wearing the same uniforms as them and he snapped,He took one of the dead aliens laser guns and just unloaded on the soldiers dropping them dead until no one was left standing but dropped the gun and opened the cage with the badge of one of the GUN Soldiers."My first Chaos Emerald…Only 6 more to go" Shadow said to himself.
"Surrender now or we will use force" A GUN beetle robot said with more mechs surrounding Shadow."You humans took her away…Allow me to return the favor." Shadow said as his quills began to point upward and had a red aura flowing through his mechs tried to shoot Shadow but the bullets had no effect on him."Death to all who oppose me…CHAOS BLAST!" Shadow yelled with rage and a wave of red energy in the form of an explosion blowing up cars, street signs, mechs, and whatever was caught in the stood there looking at the destruction he had walked on with his Chaos Emerald
"You've deliberately disobeyed me, Shadow!" a hologram of Black Doom said."No one tells me what to do. I have my own reasons for collecting the Chaos Emeralds." Shadow replied."You REALLY don't understand the situation here, do you?! Perhaps, Professor Gerald has done more to your memory than I imagined." Black Doom said."The professor...?" Shadow questioned."You don't remember anything, do you? But you will, in time. But now, there's no time to waste here. Go and access the United Federation's mainframe. Understand?"Shadow stood there questioning his creation but now knowing that Black Doom knew of his creation he decided to listen to him."Got It.." Shadow replied confidently to hide his confusion.
