I'm actually getting back into writing again. I still have chapters in my doc manager for my other stories as well, some stories I need to re-read to refresh my memories. I started writing in middle school and now I'm in my mid-20's (I'm so old!), but if there's one thing I always told myself is that I don't want to be those authors who never finish their stories and ghost their account.
It may take me some time to update, even years, but my account is still open whenever I'm ready, so it's never ghosted. I read great stories from other authors without a proper ending, and it left me wondering. Not me. So please understand I'm not gone.
Btw, I'm on a fucking roll right now. I'm updating tf out of my stories and I'm almost done editing "half breed pure heart" chapter.
Chapter 2: Blue lights
Len's P.O.V.
7:09 a.m.
I slid myself out the back door as soon as I was done clocking out. Most of the other workers walked out the front, but I still had some integrity in me to not get caught walking out of a brothel-house. Especially the way I look? People will know right away that I wasn't a customer, just a prostitute.
The bright lights of the sun nearly blinded me, so I made haste to put on my shades after I finished rolling down my hoodie. "Fuck. I'm starving" I then murmured to myself.
The more I walked through the alleyway, the more the idea of visiting Rin began to fill my head.
Usually I would grab something quick to eat at the local diner, but I was barely paid anything last night and needed to save my money to survive and get around. And that's what pisses me off. The owner taking most of my money out of interest and I get left with what? Scraps? ... Even strippers make more money than I do.'
With that thought lingering in my head, I began to hurry down the street towards Rins apartment.
It was honestly twelve minutes away by foot, so I wasted little time reaching the building and entering into the front entrance.
I casually walked up the stairs to the second floor and turned the corner, spotting her unit number almost immediately. Part of me was a tad bit nervous because we don't see each other all too often.
It's not like we fought or anything, I just tended to distance myself because she's constantly worried about me, and that makes it even tougher for me to do my job.' I then took a deep breath and knocked on her door.
Within a few seconds I began to hear footsteps coming from the other side before the locks came undone, along with the door creaking open to reveal a familiar face.
Her eyes widened almost immediately as she flung the rest of the door open. "L-Len!?" And right then and there, she pulled me into her arms for a hug. "Are you okay? Is someone after you?!" She frantically asked.
I returned the gesture and hugged her back, shaking my head against her shoulder. "No, no. I honestly decided to stop by to see if I could eat here? And maybe take a shower since I'm in the neighborhood and all." I meekly responded.
She slowly separated from me and began looking me in the eyes. I could tell from her expression alone how worried she is, and I was afraid of that. But it wasn't something I can dictate. If I was her, I'd be worried for me too...
"Come inside" she softly said as she stood to the side, allowing me in.
I nodded my head and came inside, walking directly towards the living room so I could sit on the brown sofa.
After she had closed the door she walked over into the living room as well and sat across from in one of the loveseats.
Her hair was neatly brushed into a clean bun with two heart-shaped hairpins clicked onto the side. She wore a light-blue spaghetti-strap shirt with a pair of white joggers. If I were to guess, today must've been her day off from work.
I shifted uncomfortably into the couch and took off my shades.
"... I know I haven't seen you in a while-" I started, but she rose her hand to stop me from talking.
She shook her head. "Len, you don't need to be sorry. I just want to know that you're still safe every once in a while. And it's not like I can have a say-so in your situation, you don't even have a say-so yourself. So I understand that to the very least." She calmly explained, putting me at ease a bit. "I've told you before that my home is open to you if you need help."
"I would, but I don't want to risk it. ... What if a weirdo decided to stalk me and finds your place? Or worst. I can become behind in payments and the debt collectors start involving you. I don't want that." I told her, placing my gaze towards the floor. "I already made up my mind about this from the very beginning. I'd take on the job they want me to do to pay them back, all on my own for you to be spared. Hell. It's not like they can harass our parents. They ditched us to go to Japan and didn't tell us about their debt. They knew what the fuck they were doing-"
"Len, please." She then pipped up. I glanced up to see the pained look on her face.
Awe shit.
I sighed inwardly to myself and took a second to calm down. "I'm sorry, Rin. I get a little upset when I think of these things. Although you want to open your home to me, the time is still not right yet. I mean, it'll be different one day. You won't have to worry about me soon. Besides, I might do something different today for a change."
It was then that she rose a brow and said, "Something different? Are you going to look into being a hairdresser again?" She questioned.
I merely shook my head as I dug through my pockets and pulled out the pass from last night. "As much as I want to, not yet. But some asshole found me when I was taking my break last night and randomly began having a conversation with me. So he gave me this to go to his concert tonight." I briefly explained as I handed it to her.
Almost immediately her eyes lit up, followed by a, "What!? B-B-Rabbit?! You met him?!"
Fuck. Don't tell me she likes this guy? He's even a pain in the ass even when he's not around. Great.
"Er, yeah. Tall guy with blue hair, right?" I explained.
She excitedly nodded her head rapidly and squealed. "No way! I can't believe you spoke to him; you know, he never talks to anyone. He doesn't even do interviews or anything, but he's pretty famous in the underground scene as far as his music goes. I can't believe you don't even know who he is and you were lucky enough to talk to him!"
I wouldn't even call it "lucky". He was annoying, but I guess he's not considerably a bad person.
I shrugged my shoulders.
"I mean I guess. He told me I should come to his show, but I'm still on the fence about it. It'd mean skipping work." I told her.
She then threw the pass at me, having it hit my chest. "No, you're going" she smiled as she clapped her hands together. "You need to take a break to live. Even if it means going to a concert for a person you don't know. Plus, I really want an autograph from him if you can get me one." She then asked.
I couldn't help but give a small smile and relax into the seat. "Alright alright. You're right. I'll go to the concert and get your little autograph" I mocked her near the end, making her roll her eyes at me.
"Whatever" she chuckled "anyway, hurry and take a shower. I have some clothes for you in the hallway cabinet for you to change into. Just leave your clothes in the dirty hamper by the washer machine." She then stood up and dusted off her lap.
"Clothes?" I rose a brow at her as I stood up as well.
She nodded her head, "Yes. I always keep some clothes for you in case you decide to come here. Also, I'm well aware that you don't have a stable living situation, so I don't know how limited your wardrobe is, or if you even have normal clothes that aren't skimpy."
Rin...
I silently bit my tongue to hold myself back from trying to cry. So I nodded my head and gave a brief smile before I began walking towards the hallway to the cabinet.
"Hey, I'm gonna start cooking breakfast so it should be ready by the time you're done!" She partially shouted from the other room.
Right when I opened the cabinet I immediately saw on the first shelf a series of folded up clothes and men's body wash. I don't mind men's body wash, but I'm so used to using floral scents to the point I like how it smells on me. So I'm sure as hell are going to borrow her perfume afterwards' I thought to myself as I began unfolding each of them.
I found a black pair of fitted jeans with a white V-neck through the pile. On the left I spotted some accessories. But not just any one, the ones I thought I lost. So I quickly grabbed my black choker and a pair of briefs before hopping off into the shower.
I don't know. Maybe I should stay here every now and then.
Kaito's P.O.V.
8:32 p.m.
"I think we should invest in one of those coffee machines. I'm still tired from the last performance we did" Gakupo pipped up as he began adjusting the playlist on his laptop.
Although we were backstage, we already could hear the stadium becoming filled with people, but the show doesn't start till 9.
Meito was too busy on the phone with his sister while I was picking at the food on the snack table. "Well shit, that's why we have all these Red Bull's." I mumbled back before I shoved a piece of cantaloupe in my mouth.
"Psh, I don't even like Red Bull. I might go grab me a monster from the vending machine." He then responded. "Anyway, I'm just about done with the playlist. I hope you have enough energy for this final show-"
"Hey! Meiko says hi!" Meito then interrupted us as he held the phone out.
Both me and Gakupo greeted her back before he continued talking on the phone.
I walked over to the couch Gakupo was sitting on and plopped myself on the edge. "Yeah, I'm ready to go back home." I briefly responded. But as soon as I did, a knock came from the door followed by it opening.
One of the security guys stood in the opening.
Everyone looked over to him.
"I have a person here with a backstage pass? He said that B-Rabbit gave him it." He announced.
As soon as he did, he stepped to the side to show a very familiar blonde stepping forward to lean against the doorframe with arms crossed against his chest, immediately staring over to me.
Hm. So he decided to show up after all.' I inwardly thought to myself as a smirk crept across my lips before I nodded in approval.
With that, the security guard walked away.
"Mm. I'm here, so now what? Are you going to bust into a rap?" He then sassed, causing the other two to snap their attention to the blonde.
Meito quickly hung up the phone and stomped across the room to point to the boy. "Kaito, who the hell is this and why are they talking to you crazy? Are you going to allow that?" The brunette balled up his other fist.
"So Kaito is your name?" The boy then rose a brow at me.
Fucking Meito and his big mouth...' I sighed. "Meito, he's someone I met last night. No need to get defensive, that's just his personality" although he need to fix that little attitude of his. "And yes. That's my name. And no, I'm not going to bust into a damn rap. That's what the concert is for." I explained.
Meito continued to eye the blonde as Gakupo got up from his seat with the laptop. "Well we have to get ready to start. Meito, you need to get out there first. I have to tune my equipment." Gakupo had then reached over to bump my fist before heading out the door with the brunette, leaving me and the blonde alone.
We continued to eye one another in silence.
Again, the color of his eyes really stands out. More-so now that I see him in the light. Compared to last night, he actually looks a lot more relaxed.
Black skinny jeans with a beige knitted sweater, gold hoop earrings, and a black choker that hugged his neck nicely. And his hair, like before, loose and framing his face damn near perfect.
I briefly scratched the back of my head and finally decided to say something.
"Hey, about last night. I didn't mean to get at you all sideways or anything, and I'll admit that it wasn't my business questioning you like that." I started. This had caused him to relax his demeanor a bit.
From crossing his arms, he relaxed them more to the point he was just holding them. "... It's not really a big deal like that. Who wouldn't question me?" He shrugged.
"But it doesn't make it right, shorty. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm sorry. Thinking back at it, I know I bothered you. And I can't blame your attitude. It's probably on high-alert all the time because of the people you have to deal with."
Our eyes met once more, and finally, I caught a faint smile rising up on his lips.
"... I appreciate the apology. I didn't expect to receive one once I came here, but if you really want to make it up to me, you can give me your autograph so I can pass it along to my sister. She like freaked the fuck out when I told her who gave me that pass" he chuckled near the end.
But right when I heard his laugh, it felt like something jumped up to my throat.
I quickly shook the feeling away and coughed a bit. "U-Uh yeah, sure." I nearly stammered. "If you don't mind me asking, but are you going to work after this?"
The question took him aback, but he shook his head.
I'll keep that in find for afterwards.
"You use less slang now that we're actually talking." He mentioned.
"That's because I sometimes get stuck talking that way after I'm done rapping. If anything, I curse a lot when I talk normally and shit." I briefly explained. No one really know about that except for my family, but he picked up on it quickly. "Subside from that, it's about time for the show to start. You ready?"
"I guess I am, Kaito" he smiled.
