I will forever love the fact that this whump challenge has helped me to branch out in terms of my fandoms otherwise I was always writing the same fandoms which is not bad, but it is nice to explore different characters. This is written for Day 21 which is "Help them". I felt like doing some friendshippy whump.
"Help them, Nezzie, Slider," Digit said as he stepped towards The Hacker. The one who had once been his boss. Matt and Jackie were tied at the edge of a cliff and the green cyborg had a smug smirk on his face. He knew his old boss well enough to be able to distract him alone although a chill did envelop him at the thought. He knew better than anyone how cruel the evil green cyborg could be, but he had to make sure that his precious friends did not fall prey to that.
Slider nodded to Inez, running forward but Inez didn't follow. That was odd and Slider stopped, turning back.
"Nezzie, aren't you coming?" Slider asked her, confusion etched onto his face.
"Awww, Cyberbrat, did you change your mind about saving your friends?" Hacker mocked her and Inez stepped back even further but surprised them all as she took Digit's wing into her own hand.
"Go ahead, Slider," Inez said firmly. "We're going to save our friends, Hacker, whether you want us to or not. But I'm not leaving Dige to deal with you alone to save them. Matt and Jackie would never want that and neither do I."
"Nezzie," Digit began, wanting to say that he would be fine, but Inez cut him off.
"No, Dige," Inez said firmly. "I'm staying."
The fire in her eyes showed that it would not matter what Digit would say, she was staying. And he could not tell her in that moment how much this meant to him.
