In the Grim Darkness of the far future, there is only War.
But there was time long before this, a time when people had once believed in a brighter future. Within the planet once called Earth, Humanity faced many conflicts and many threats from within and beyond the Solar System. They would have soon been annihilated were not for the brave heroes that rose up to face those threats. These heroes wielded powerful Titans, humanoid machines that came in different shapes and sizes. With the combined power of their Titans, they changed the course of history and though the battle was long, and they went through many hardships, they had emerged victorious. The conflicts had ended, and a new age had begun, an age of peace and understanding. But it was not meant to last.
Tens of thousands of years later, even greater conflicts had begun and the great heroes of the distant past as well as all they once stood for had been long forgotten. No longer did Mankind want peace but dominance. Under the Imperium of Man and the will of their Emperor, they went on a galactic crusade to fulfill their destiny as conquerors. But through the machinations of Chaos, their greatest enemy, the Emperor of Man was brought low and now forced to watch as Mankind went down a far darker path. The Imperium now fights in an eternal intergalactic war with the many species of the Galaxy. From the cunning Eldar and skillful Tau to the brutal Orks, the world devouring Tyranids and worst all, the dark forces of Chaos.
It's now the 42nd Millenium and the universe is now on the edge of oblivion. But those that were once forgotten, and their titans may soon be needed once again

Hello everyone and welcome to my first SRW fanfiction. Super Robot Wars: Defiance will be exactly as the name means. It will be about defying the very will of the Warhammer universe and everything it stands for. I always kind of prefer stories like this where it changes the status quo of Warhammer instead of fighting to preserve it. The Imperium will also be one of the antagonists of this story. This is because it will feel unoriginal if the protagonists just works with the Imperium just because they're all human and besides, it wouldn't really be "defiant" of them to just be fighting for the Emperor, would it? So, say I'm wrong and shout "HERESY!" all you like, I'm not changing my mind about it.
This story will also have time travel, so it won't just be in the Warhammer timeline. There's probably a few more Mecha I could add here (provided I actually watched them) so let me know what I could use here.
