I opened the door to the class and saw everyone in a line, as usual, except our teacher out in front, facing them. Clarrise and I quickly joined the line and tightened our belts, and class immediately started. Like normal, Clarrise wasn't exactly the best in class. She kept falling backward after kicks and confused jabs with crosses. It might've been because Amanda was right next to her, showing off. She was the best in our class, especially better than all the boys. By the first month, she had already earned her green belt. By now, she's already up to her blue-black belt. Meanwhile, Clarrise is only up to her green belt, and I'm only slightly ahead with a purple belt.
Halfway into class, I had to go to the bathroom. Nothing out of the ordinary. I went, washed my hands, and dried them. As I was heading back out, though, I stopped for no particular reason. Somehow, it felt as if I'd forgotten something. I turned back around to look, even though I knew I hadn't brought anything in. A few seconds after, I felt a pinch on my hand, as if something had bitten it. I immediately shook my hand like crazy, even though I came to a conclusion it was a mosquito or some insect. I headed back to class, assuming everything was normal. Class went on like regular until it was time to head home.

When Clarrise and I were heading back home, however, I started to feel dizzy. I started to wobble back and forth, but thankfully I made it back to the apartment building. We said our goodbyes and she headed off to her house. I opened the door and started walking up the stairs. I probably just need some rest, I thought. So I got my house key and opened the door, and immediately my older sister Camila could tell something was wrong.
"What's the matter with you, Addison?" she said, though not in a rude tone. "Did something happen at karate?" She rushed into the kitchen to grab a glass of water as I headed for the couch. I laid down and she came back. I thanked her and took a few sips before setting it down to the coffee table.
"Is Mom still in the office?" I asked her. Our mom - well, my adoptive mom - does a lot of her work virtually, so she stays home. Luckily in our apartment, we had a spare room that she can use for her work.
Camila sighed and sat down next to me. "Yeah, but she should be finishing up soon," she answered. "Let's hope this is only a headache, or else she'll freak." We both laughed it off, and I closed my eyes and fell into a slumber.
I had a pretty weird dream, if I do say so myself. It was nighttime, and I was sitting on top of a tall building. It immediately made me nauseous, since I'm quite afraid of heights. A few seconds later, I heard a thud from behind me. I would've jumped, but I guess I was familiar with this person - or whatever this thing was. I turned around and it was no one other than...
Spider-Man. He was there, right in front of me. His suit was so detailed, even though I'd only seen him on the TV before, and once he swung right over my head, which I couldn't stop thinking about for a whole week. Anyway, the point is I'd rarely ever seen him before, and I have no idea how we had gotten on top of a building.. together.
"Hey," he said, looking directly me as if we'd talked a million times before. "How was the fight earlier? You okay?"
I suddenly felt sweaty, realizing I had goggles, a mask, and a few layers of clothes on my body. "Yeah, I'm fine," I heard myself respond. "Thanks for checking in. What about you?" I wanted so badly to tell him how big of a fan I was, but my dream wouldn't allow me to. I guess in this world, this scenario happened, like, five times a day, which I couldn't get myself to believe.
He tipped his head toward the ground, although I could tell he wasn't too upset. "Glad to hear it," he told me. "I'm fine, thanks." He let out a small laugh as he looked back up, looked around, and took his mask off, breathing slightly heavily. "I don't know how you get around with all that gear," he joked, and I laughed with him.
He then suddenly started shaking me softly, asking me, "Are you awake? Addison?" I was super confused, both to why he was shaking me when I was perfectly awake and looking at him, and also because he somehow knew my name. Eventually, it faded to black, and I perfectly recognized that voice.
I opened my eyes to Camila lightly shaking me, asking if I was awake. When she saw I was back, she immediately looked happier. "You had me worried!" she exclaimed. "You've been asleep for hours. I put your water in the freezer 'cause it was getting warm." She embraced me in a hug, and I hugged her back. I somehow felt way better than I did before, and I felt more energized, too. Right then, I saw Mom come out from her office and she looked at us.
"You feel better now, or you still need some time?" Camila asked me. I told her I was feeling better, and she gave me a high-five. Suddenly, Mom emerged from behind.
"What happened?" she asked. "Is Addison alright? Did something happen at karate?"
"I'm fine, mom," I told her. "I just had a.. headache, that's all." I wasn't exactly sure what it was, but I didn't want to worry her. Camila gave me a thumbs up and a smile, so I returned the favor.
I wanted so badly to tell someone about my dream, but I couldn't think of anyone besides Clarrise, and I wouldn't see her until school since Mom wouldn't let me go out by myself yet, which is reasonable. Luckily, it was a Sunday, so I didn't have to wait long. I still got to talk to her online when we played together, but I felt this needed to be said face-to-face. The day went by like normal, and soon it was time for bed. I headed to bed and went to sleep, actually being excited for a Monday for once.
