"What do you mean you're leaving?!" Ren exclaims.
"I don't have a choice," I mumble. "Derek has custody of me now. There's nothing I can do."
"I'll convince him to let you stay here!" he exclaims and hugs me tight.
"Ren, honey. She has to leave," his mom says softly to him.
"We'll make this work. I promise," he says before kissing me.
I kiss him back and feel tears escape my eyes. I feel Ren pull back slightly.
"I love you," he whispers.
"I love you too," I whisper back. "I'll see you over summer."
"Text me when you get there," he says and wipes my tears.
"Okay," I say and feel him kiss me again.
Ren pulls away and walks me out to Derek's car. I climb inside and wave goodbye to Ren as we drive off. Little did I know that my life would be changing more drastically than I expected.
*At The Midoriya's*
I get out of Derek's car and grab my bag as I say goodbye to my brother. Derek waves goodbye and I head up to my aunt's apartment. I take my phone out and let Ren know I made it safely as I make my way up the stairs.
"Skylar!" I hear someone call out. I turn around and find Izuku catching up to me.
"Hey!" I say a little excitedly. It's been years since I've seen him. He's finally taller than me now.
Izuku drops his bag and hugs me. I hug him back for a second before pulling away.
"Sorry to hear what happened," he says as he picks his bag up and takes mine from me.
"Yeah," I say. "Can we not talk about that?"
"Sure. I'll be here to talk when you're ready," he says with a smile.
"Thanks," I say with a small smile as we reach his apartment.
Izuku unlocks the door and we head inside to find his mom asleep on the couch. Izuku approaches her and gently wakes her.
"Izuku!" she exclaims and hugs him tightly.
"Hi Mom," he laughs and hugs her back. "Skylar's here too."
"Hi Skylar," she says and lets go of Izuku. "My, you've grown."
"Yeah, a little," I laugh slightly.
"Dinner's in the fridge if you kids are hungry," she smiles. "I'm gonna go to bed."
"Okay, thanks!" Izuku and I say in unison.
"Oh, Skylar, you'll be going to U.A. with Izuku when he goes back in a few days. Everything's ready to go," she says before heading down the hallway.
"You'll love U.A.," Izuku smiles as he takes dinner out of the fridge.
"I've heard good things about it. As well as all the villain attacks on your class," I say.
"That's why they have us living on campus now. We're under 24 hour security there. I'm actually surprised they let us go home for more than a day," he says as he hands me a plate.
"I mean, the hero program is pretty good back in Tokyo, but nothing compared to U.A.'s.. Are you sure I'll be okay?" I ask as I take a bite of my dinner.
"Sky, you're strong and pick up very quickly. You'll be okay," he laughs.
"If you say so," I laugh as we eat our dinner.
*A few days later*
Today is the day Izuku and I leave for U.A.. The last few days were fun, just hanging out and enjoying our time off from school. Aunt Inko took me shopping for new clothes and personal belongings yesterday so I'd be set for a while.
Once we arrive at U.A. I'm in complete awe at everything. It definitely is so much bigger in person than on TV. As Izuku and I are walking to the dorms I decide to text Ren.

Hey! I go to school at U.A. now!
I'm really excited as nervous!

I'm jealous! Have fun baby!
I smile at the text and put my phone back in my pocket as we approach Class 1-A's dorms.
"Be prepared to be bombarded," Izuku laughs as he opens the doors to the building.
"Deku!" a girl about my height with short brown hair exclaims as we walk in.
"How was your break?" someone else asks.
"Who's that?" a boy with red spikey hair asks when he notices me.
"This is my cousin Skylar. She just transferred here," Izuku explains to everybody.
"Hi!" I exclaim with a warm smile.
"Aw! Hello!" the girl from before says. "I'm Ochako!"
"Hello!" I say.
Soon everyone else starts introducing themselves to me. They're all so friendly and sweet. I'm gonna like it here.
"What's your quirk?" Tsuyu asks.
"Fire," I tell her.
"Ooo another fire user!" Momo exclaims excitedly.
"Another?" I question.
"Todoroki is a fire user and I guess Bakugo is considered one as well," Ochako explains.
"Speaking of Todoroki," Kirishima says as the building doors open and a boy with half red and half white hair walks in. Everyone turns their attention to the boy.
"Why are you all staring at me?" Todoroki asks in a monotone voice.
"Skylar here uses fire as well," Denki says and pushes me towards Todoroki.
"Hi," I say to the boy.
"Hello. I'm actually a half fire user. My other half is ice," he explains to me.
"That sounds cool!" I exclaim.
"It kinda is," he smiles ever so slightly. Todoroki looks up at the rest of the class. "Has Bakugo met her yet?"
"No," Izuku says. "We'll cross that bridge when we get there."
"Why do you all seem worried about me meeting this Bakugo kid?" I ask.
"Well, Kacchan is really competitive. He doesn't like me that much and he doesn't like Todoroki too much either," Izuku explains.
"What Deku's trying to say is; Bakugo doesn't really like any of us. He's had it out for Deku since they were kids. He doesn't really like Todoroki because he's starting to use his fire side more," Jiro explains.
"So when he finds out you're a fire user he'll flip and won't be too nice to you," Tsuyu continues.
"He can't be that bad," I say.
"Kacchan is hard to read," Izuku says. "He'll come off mean, but he'll eventually warm up to you at some point. Hopefully."
"You should show her around Deku," Ochako says. "You should join them Todoroki."
"I have to go see Hatsume anyways," Todoroki says.
"Alright lets go!" Izuku exclaims and the three of us head to the main building of the school.
The boys show me where our classroom is as well as the cafeteria, gyms, and training areas. Our last stop is Hatsume's workshop.
"Hey Hatsume," Todoroki says as we walk in. Just as the door closed, a gadget starts smoking.
"Give me one second Todoroki!" she exclaims and puts the smoke out. "What can I do f— Oh! We have a newbie!"
"Hello," I smile.
"Let me tend to Todoroki then we'll talk about costumes!" Hatsume exclaims excitedly.
She helps Todoroki refine his costume then helps me design mine. I chose a black jumpsuit with orange flames going down the arms with a black and flame eye mask. Hatsume puts the request in and we head back to the dorms.
"Kacchan should be here by now. He should actually be coming out to train any minute now," Izuku says as he checks his phone. "Don't start flirting with him! Please!"
"Why wou—," I say just as a tall boy with somewhat spikey blonde hair comes out of the dorms in sweatpants and a black tank top eating a popsicle.
"Who is that?!" I whisper yell at Izuku.
"That's Bakugo," he says and looks at me.
"Why didn't you tell me he was so hot?!" I whisper yell again.
"I— wait, don't you have a boyfriend?" he questions.
"Yes, but that doesn't stop me from thinking someone's hot," I roll my eyes.
"Good point," he laughs just as Bakugo notices us.
"Deku!" Bakugo yells in a raspy voice.
"Hey Kacchan," he says nervously.
"The extras tell me there's a newbie with you?" he says angrily.
"Yeah, this is Skylar. She's my cousin," Izuku introduces me.
"What's your quirk?" he asks.
I look at Izuku who nods. "Fire," I tell Bakugo.
Bakugo smirks. "Wanna go a round?"
"Um not really," I say nervously.
"Is she just as weak as you Deku?!" Bakugo yells at Izuku.
"Hey! I never said I was weak!" I defend myself.
"Then let's go a round," Bakugo says snobbily.
"Why? Is your ego that fragile?" I question.
Izuku looks at me like he can't believe I just said what I said. Bakugo's face turns bright red and he clenches his fists.
"Let's go Fireball!" he yells at me and gets in his fighting stance.
I roll my eyes and take my jacket off and hand it to Izuku before getting into my fighting stance. Bakugo launches himself at me and throws a punch. I block his attack and knee him in the stomach, causing him to cough. Bakugo throws me a few feet backwards and launches himself at me immediately afterwards, not giving me time to react. He lands a punch on my shoulder and a kick to the ribs.
I get back up and launch a stream of fire at him, causing him to use his quirk too. Our quirks combining causes a huge explosion in the space between us. Bakugo looks at me and chuckles slightly.
"Not bad Fireball. That quirk of yours could come in handy for mine," he says and walks over to me.
"Whatever," I mumble.
"You're not bad at hand-to-hand combat either," he says and sticks his hand out to me.
"Well, I did train with my dad and older brother when I was a kid," I say, taking his hand.
Bakugo helps me up and I brush myself off. "I actually look forward to working with you," he says.
"Thanks?" I question.
"See ya later Fireball," he says and continues to the training field.
"Kacchan actually complimented you," Izuku says surprised.
"I take it that he doesn't do that often," I say and take my jacket back from him.
"No, not at all," he laughs. "Come on, let's go get you settled in."
Izuku and I head back into the dorms and head up to my room which was at the end of the boy's hall on the fourth floor.
"Skylar?" Izuku says as we reach my room.
"Yeah?" I respond as I open the door.
"Bakugo's room is next to yours," he says and follows me inside.
"What?!" I exclaim and close the door.
"Have fun with that," he laughs.
Great. I have to deal with Bakugo all the time. Not just in school.
