My name is Sofia Eaton. I live in Chicago, home to the faction system. They are Dauntless home of the brave, Amity home of the kind, Candor home of truth, Erudite home of the smart, last Abangation home of the selfless. Now I am from Abangation where my brother Tobias and father Marus. You are wondering where my mother is, well she died when I was 6. Now two things you need to know about me, Marus is abusive to me and my brother when he was here. Two I am gay I have been dating Sami Prior for three years.
But that is not my story. I am now 16 years old. Tomorrow is my choice day Sami and I will be choosing dauntless just like my brother did last year. We are both nervous to get out of Abangation, you see my dad found out about us maybe five months ago. He was not happy about it, with that being said he would not be happy I am running away with my girlfriend.
Now today we had our test to see which faction you are in. fun fact I am divergent with Dauntless, Abnegation, and Amity. But the cool part was my girlfriend's mom was the one that gave me my test and put Dauntless as my test answer. She knew that I would pick it because my brother is there and Sami will be there.
The next morning I woke up to my choice. I can't wait to leave last night because of my dad. But I am not going to tell you that story. No one wants to hear that, let's just say my back hurts.
Now onto the choosing I was not paying attention to. But I heard Sami's name be called and saw her choose Dauntless. I was happy for her. Maybe three minutes later it was my turn. I look at Sami then look at my father. My blood in a Dauntless bowl. I hug Sami when I get to her. Now besides my dad who found out no one knows I and Sami are together. So it's weird now to say I can be in a relationship. The choice is done and we start running to the train that will be coming anytime now.
We are going running then we have to claim to get to the train. I feel bad for Sami. I know that she is deathly scared of heights. I get up first and help her up.
"Thanks, Sof."
"You know I will always be there for you. Now the train is coming so we have to jump on as we have done before."
"Got it too let's do this."
We got on the train with ease but we noticed that we were the only transfers in the train car.
"What are you doing here? The transfer car is one back"
"Adam leaves them alone. The transfers are only one back because no one can keep up with us, but if they are here they are good. Why are you mad that they are here anyway?"
"I don't want some stiffness on the train!"
"You better watch what you say," I say shyly also trying to hold back Sami
"Is that a threat stiff?"
"No my girlfriend hates that word and you just called the one person that means the world to her a stiff." still trying to hold her back that this point but the other dauntless guy had to help me
"We may be from Abnegation but that does not mean we are stiff. Like we have been training for this for six years. I think that we have proven that we are good, we are in the same train car as you. Never call us that again! Also, not everyone is what you think they are." Sami yelled in anger.
"Whatever," Adam said
"Well you are strong I could not have held you back anymore. Ps don't listen to him he is just a bully. I am Ben and this is Kira, my girlfriend."
"Well nice to meet you I am Sami and this is my G..Girlfriend Sofia."
"So have you been training for six years? How is that if you are from abnegation?" Kira asked.
"Well my mom comes from Dauntless and we were on the edge of abnegation so in the backyard, my mom would teach us both and my little sister. But they taught us how to be yourself."
"O what is your mom's name we could know who it is?" Ben said
"Natalie Stone. I think that was her last name but I'm not sure."
"NATALIE STONE is your mom. Damn, we have to fear you."
"What are you talking about?" I asked
"Natalie Stone is the most known person besides Four. She has ten fears. Her Tori, Max, and Hana are known for pranks and being the best Dauntless ever had. We were so mad when she left."
"Wait you are telling me my mom was a prank? When did she leave, we don't know when our birthdays are or parents really."
"Um, I think about 15 almost 16 years ago."
"Hey, it's time to jump to dauntless two times."
That's when I see people jump out of the train "let's do this Sami I am here for you we can do it." I say this because I see we jump on a roof but we have a problem Sami is scared of heights.
"See you on the roof girls." Ben and Kira said at the same time.
We jump and make it
"Welcome to dauntless I am Max one of your leaders. Now you just jumped now you have to jump to Dauntless. So who is first?"
"I will be first," I said but still pulled Sami with me because she is going to be the second jumper.
"Then why are pulling the other girl with you?"
"I am pulling her because she is the second to jump."
"I will always jump after you. And if she didn't I would not jump because I know that is one of my fears."
"See you down there girlfriend," I say. That is when I jump to Dauntless to be my life for the rest of my life. I hit a net and have to get out so Sami can jump so I go to the close's hand.
"What's your name?" a guy said he was strong but I didn't look up to his face but when I did it is Tobias.
"A stiff jumped first that is unheard of."
"You might not want my girlfriend to hear you say that. It was the darkest time of our lives. And my name is Sofia." when I said Toby knew that it was me. But we were cut off from Sami jumping. So he went to help her down but the thing is that he didn't have to ask her name before he talked.
"First jumper Sofia and second jumper Sami! both of you welcome to Dauntless."
"How did he know my name I never told him?" Sami asked
"Sami get a good look at him the eyes will give it away." she looked at him and knew who he was. She made an O with her mouth. But what I want to know is how he knew that my girlfriend is Sami. I will have to ask him that later. Ben was the third jumper and Kira was the fourth jumper. The rest I did not know.
"My name is Four, normally I would be in the control room but for the next six weeks, I will be your trainer. Now dauntless born go with Lauren we will meet up later, that will be the change that will be in training you will train together and rooming together boys and then girls." Toby said now I really need to talk to him
"Hey, we will see you later meet us in the dining hall when the tour is over," Kira said to me and Sami. we nod because we know that they are the only friends we have right now.
We go on a tour and Sami was so into it that I knew I could not pay to attend but still know how to get a place because Sami is not leaving my side anytime soon. But when we got to the dining hall I had to talk to Toby.
"Hey, four can I talk to you sometime soon?"
"When we go back to the dorms you and Sami can talk to me. I want to meet her as your girlfriend, not as my future wife," he said the last part trying not to laugh
"Thanks, Four."
"No problem sis have fun with your friends Ben and Kira are good people for you to hang with. PS does she know about father?"
"Yes, I do know about it. Sorry I know I should not have been listening in but I do because I did not want to go without her." Sami said
"Ok go hang out with your friends, and they will sit with my friends no talking to me like you know me." we both nod
"Hey, Sofia Sami over here," Kira said
"Hey, guys thanks for letting us sit here with you."
"Yeah no problem you guys are really cool I want to be friends with you. So we introduce people this is Marlen my younger sister, Uriah her boyfriend, their best friend Lynn, Zeke Uriah's older brother, Shauna Zeke's girlfriend, and last this is Four their best friend."Kira said
"Well, it's nice to meet you guys," I said now I know that Toby had friends. We were going to say more but someone else came up to us but did not seem happy.
"Four, Max is looking for you! Why is he looking for you? And are you going introduce me to the stiffs?"
"He wants to give me a job. Calm down, Sami. two this is Sofia and Sami." He can tell that Sami was mad
"Well let's see how long they last. And why would Max want to give you a job."
"Well, they can keep up to us Dauntless was born and one is Four's sister and the other is Natalie stone's daughter so they can make it. Two four is a Dauntless protege so he would make a great leader." Ben said but Sami, Four, and I were so shocked.
"How did you know we were siblings?" I asked
"Well, you guys look so much like all of us do remember you being stiff for what a day before you went by Four. and before you get mad Four wanted that name because he does not want people to know his name," Ben said
"Why did you not a government job?" Sami asks
"What makes you think you can ask that?"
"I don't know maybe because you are so approachable like a bed of nails," Sami said. I can tell she was happy with herself she used to do this all the time when we were younger.
"Watch it, Samantha," he said to Sami she was mad no one called her Samantha
"Ok, I dont care Four max wants to talk to you tonight," Eric said
"Fine. no telling anyone about my sister. Initiate follow me we are going to the dorms!"
We walk to the dorm we set up but I and Sami am going to follow Four.
"Hey, Kira we are going for a walk to look around."
We walk out the door and went to follow Four but we can't find him. But could not find him until he comes up behind us
"Hey, girls what are doing? Ps sorry, I called you Samantha."
"We want to see Max because Marus needs to be stopped. He even harmed me when he found out about us. Plus Max is my godfather from what I hear. Also to talk to you about becoming a leader. Yes my dad was an ex Erudite but they have talked about overthrowing abnegation but you can get eric off of the leader and get Marus off the leadership"
"You guys are really smart. Come with me but I will not promise that I testify."
"Ok we will take it," we say together then we got to the offices. Toby nock on a door and max says come in
"Four nice to see you, but who are the two girls behind you?" Max said
"These are two of my Initiates They wanted to talk to you. This is Sofia Eaton and Sami Prior."
"O does this have to do with fear number four. Do you guys want to testify?"
"Yes it is they want to testify against Marcus but I understand Sofia but with Sami how are you going to testify?" Sami looked scared to explain what she went through without being Marcus' daughter. I hold her hand saying that I was right there for her
"When he found out one year ago he started to beat me because he wanted it out of us. He would say to my parents that he needed help from me, but then beat me really." Tobias looked at me sadly. Where Max looks really really mad.
"This man can not just get away with hurting my daughter." Max had a face that he had relieved something really bad.
"Wait did you just say, daughter?" Tobias said really Confused.
"Sami you were born six months before your mom transferred. But being pregnant is nine months and your parents did not meet a year before choosing. There is no way that Andrew can be your dad. I know everything about Nat's life and I was the only other person that she was with. Now with that being said Four you don't have to testify but I am calling an energy meeting." he said as he started making calls
"Eric! Go tell Initiate that they have tomorrow off and training started in two days."
"O and max I will take the job and testify, which means that you can use my fear land case." toby said
"Great than eric you don't have to help training Four will be doing it himself. Now get out! Great, we will tell everyone after he to jail."
"I never did like him. We have to get him out. Now they should get here anytime."
_Time skip_to the meeting_
"Welcome to dauntless. Now you are probably wondering what you are doing here." max said
"Well yes but I am wondering more why Marcus is not here?" Mr prior asked
"Because Andrew this is about Marcus. He can not know what is said until he gets arrested." max said
"And why would he be arrested?" jack asked
"That is not my story to tell, but this stays in room the testify will stay here this is a court meeting. Now for the kids coming forward. This is Four/Tobias a leader here then Sofia Eaton his sister and last Sami Prior. These kids are testifying against Marcus for abuse." when max said this Mr prior looked really sad like he was about to cry.
"How long for all of you?" was all Mr prior said
"For me and Sofia, it was a week after our mom died," Toby said
"With me, it was a year ago when he found out I and Sofia were dating. He wanted to beat it out of the two of us. It was back when he would ask for my help dad he would just beat me."
"Sami why did you not tell me?"
"Would you have believed me, dad? Because I dont think that you would have. It is selfish and I would never do that in abnegation, being here gives me the courage to do it."
"Now I hate to do this but there are two effects. One is we found out one year ago but he did not want to come forward. This will be Four last fear in his fear landscape." Mas said as he put toby's fear up. Both Sami and myself were now holding toby's hand. I can't look it makes me relive all those years.
"Did all this really happen?" Jack ask. All the three of us could do was nod our heads.
"Now we have Four who will be showing his back to see. Now the girls have the same with their backs but we feel that Four's back is even." we give him one quick hand sequence. Then he takes his shirt off to show them his back. They all look very shocked that it was that bad.
"This is an outrage! Our lead of this city is abusive that is not right. Now with that being said yes we will be arresting him, but this is the real question who is going to become the leader of our city?"Johanna asked
"Well, maybe this will be the best time to change the head faction."
"No jean abnegation stays the head faction. which speaking of this. Divergents are being hunted in all factions because of Janine. I have one of her lackeys in my leadership. I have an office where Janine is breaking a lot of laws. Here are two folders with both cases. we have already taken down eric as he is one of my leaders" max said.
"Men take jean to candor she will be tried. But now we have the problem of we are two leaders down." jack said
"Well I thought of that for abnegation Andrew Prior is the best he knows how it runs and I think he will improve the government. Now for erudite, I have someone who worked with jean and it worked to help take her down. I think that she would be great and the same as Andrew that will improve the government. Cara Jones, who is here right now. Cara steps forward." a young girl from erudite steps forward.
"I would love to but Max, my faction has to be ok with it. Just as much as you guys are. But if they do I will be willing to take the job." she said with a smile
"Ok if you are ok with me sending some men with you so that we can make sure it all goes alright?" Max asked
"Yes that is fine I understand why you do it. I can work with it."
"I think we have an erudite leader but if you don't mind me asking how old are you?" Mr prior asked
"That is fine Mr. prior, I am 17 I went through my choosing last year."
"Got it thank you. Now we have to get Marcus. Max will you send men with me to bring him to court. Otherwise, I think that we are done here." Mr prior said
"Yes, I will send men with you. Four do you want to go with them? It is your choice."
"As a leader and I can put him behind bars would be great." toby said
"Great meet Adjourned. Andrew can we talk real quick. girls you can stay this has to do with you" max said
"Yes Max." they waited until all the people left
"I am really sorry I didn't mean to tell her but it just came out. With that being said I want you and your family to come in and talk about everything, but only if you are up to it."
"That would be great. What time works for you?"
"Tomorrow, if that works for you."
"That works for me, Sami I want you to know that we never told you because we didn't want you to think that I was not your dad and that you are different from your siblings."
"It's an ok dad now I just have two fathers and family in dauntless. I love it." both of her dads have a smile on their faces.
"Thanks for everything max my family will be back tomorrow. See you later girls and I am very happy for both of you."
Wow, it has been a long day I will be sleeping well. We go back to the dorm.
"That was a long day ready to go to bed?" I said
"Yes ready."
