Through the week, Charlie had several of the demons helping around. Most of them did not like it and complained loudly when the chance presented itself. Charie told me today she was cleaning our floor. I had insisted she did not need to clean my room but she was so ecstatic about the fridge and the amount of food I had provided, she wanted to do it for me.
No matter what excuse I used, the princess didn't listen, so...
I relented.
This woman wanted to be so helpful, I didn't want to upset her at all.
Through this week, we chatted everyday. She told me my therapy sessions would become twice a week starting next week since we got through a lot this week. I was more cooperative than most even though she seemed slightly tramumatized by my words and memories of my killings, she kept on smiling and talking to me. In the two hours a day we talked in my room, we set aside forty five minutes for her. She claimed she needed fifteen but in my opinion the cheerful, rainbow filled demoness needed the whole two hours.
I learned so much about Charlie.
So far, my favorite thing about her is not caring much about what others thought. She had a lot of spunk. She was competitive as well. She taught me this card game called 'Speed' and she was absolutely relentless! She didn't let it go until she was at least tied with me.
It was all very amusing.
I hated that I enjoyed every moment with her because we weren't dancing. The whole point of me being here was to dance and instead I was doing all these other things.
If someone would've told me all their issues when I was alive, I would've killed them on the spot but Charlie craved my very attention. She sought me out quite often to just see how I was doing. I liked it so much and I always greeted her with the least creepy smile I could muster up.
Whenever I saw her, my heart would flutter. I had to be coming down with something.
So, after lunch Charlie appeared with her cleaning cart. She wasn't wearing her usual uniform but an old shirt and cut off shorts with some old shoes. She had her hair in a ponytail with a few stray hairs framing her face. She gave me a big smile but it was just so odd to see her outside of that or her unusually bright pajamas that I couldn't help but stare a little bit.
"Hi Al!"
"Hello again, Princess."
I held open the door for her and she came in bouncing with every step she took. I closed the door behind her before seeing her pull out a broom.
"Oh, you can leave Al. I got this."
"As if I would leave dear! I enjoy your company! I still would prefer if you didn't clean my room. You aren't a slave."
She rolled her eyes, "No more arguing. I'm doing it."
I chuckled and nodded. I really wasn't sure what to do with myself so I took to my recliner and snapped my fingers for a book to read. I could do that to make it less awkward for us both. The whole thing…. felt too domestic for me.
It made me feel unusual.
I did not like that.
I did my best to read my book but I couldn't help but watch her bop her head to whatever music she was listening to through her headphones. After ten minutes, I managed to tear my eyes away from her and focus on my book. I couldn't help but keep rereading the same damn sentence. I could not concentrate for the life of me and I was becoming irritated with myself.
What was wrong with me today?
I went to snap my book close when I saw Charlie bent over picking up her duster she had dropped and I felt my poor dead heart thump so weirdly I almost yelped at the sensation. I slammed the book into my face hurting my own nose in the whole embarrassing process. I peaked over my book after a minute or so to see she was still busy cleaning and thank god for that.
She didn't see what I did.
I could feel my own face heat up and I just hated that.
Good lord, it was just a bottom! Why was I getting so flustered over something attached to someone else's body?
It wasn't like she hadn't placed her bottom on me before…. When we danced, we were all over each other. Not in a sexual sense (I believe) though. I still remember the very air around us was charged- electrifying even. Everyone's eyes had been on us- it should of been like that. Everyone should've seen how real dancing is done and not that crass crap others do.
I sighed heavily looking at Charlie who was half way under my bed now.
I was frustrated just looking at her as wiggled there on the wooden floor. I find it... adorable.
I barely paid attention enough to notice if she danced while she was cleaning- maybe even a little shaking of the hips. I was so busy trying to actively not look at her when I should have the whole time.
Goddamn myself.
Really!
I snapped my book shut and got up.
I noticed Charlie disappeared into my bathroom during my own private personal, internal crisis.
I relaxed finally.
What in the world was wrong with me?
I continued to stare at my bed for several minutes until I saw the princess backing up with her cleaning cart. She was shaking her hips a little bit and boping her head. My ears instantly perked up like an animal on high alert, just watching her.
Perhaps it was creepy the way I was staring at her.
I specialized in creepy and Charlie knew that. She turned around to see me staring at her with my eyes wide and glowing. I couldn't even tell if my face was as red as my clothes but I decided to ignore that thought for now.
I got up from my seat and marched right over to her. I tilted my head at her, making sure I towered over her. I felt the sudden need to just intimidate her- I need some damn control over this whole embarrassing scene that I had caused myself. She moved the headphones from her left ear and looked at me curiously.
"Yes Alastor?"
"What are you feeling the rhythm of my dear?" I asked, "Is it a good song?"
Her mouth opened up but no sounds came out. After a few moments, she recovered.
"I don't think you would like it. It wouldn't suit your tastes."
I had told her during our therapy time what kind of music I loved. Not shocking enough, she liked it too but her tastes varied why more than my own.
"I'm always willing to try."
Charlie smiled weakly at me and pulled off her headphones. They were pastel pink with little hearts all over it and kitties. I was not surprised- Charlie was the type to like cute things.
"Let me see if I can place this on your ears."
I have no idea why and I couldn't explain it if I tried, but I leaned over so she could place those electrical earmuffs on me.
"Oh! They do fit! Nice! I'll start the song over but…. it's a good song and don't judge me. I love the beat."
"What's it called darling?" I asked curiously.
"Ode to the Bouncer by Studio Killers."
"I see. Go on and play. I won't judge until the end."
I nearly jumped out of my skin by how loud the music was and Charlie smirked as she turned it down a tad. She turned around and waited for me to finish the song. I suppose she didn't want to watch me react to the whole song.
Well, it had a good beat I had to admit and the song was about someone who wanted to dance very badly but there was a bouncer in the way? The song was rather… suggestive but I was not hip like most of the sinners around here. Once it was finished, Charlie paused it and I pulled off the headphones.
"So?"
"Ironic really," I said handing her the headphones back.
"What do you mean 'ironic'?" she asked looking taken back by my words.
"It's about the singer wanting to dance when in fact you refuse to dance. If you wish to dance Charlie, I will dance with you and you won't regret it."
Once again, I left Charlie speechless for several minutes in fact. I enjoyed all the emotions flickering across her face.
"Are you ok Charlie? Did I say something wrong?" I asked, curious for her answer.
"N-no… I…."
I placed my hands on her shoulders, effectively turning her pale doll face red.
"Yes?"
Her dark lips moved wordlessly and it left me amused. Oh how I wished I could hear those thoughts running through her head. She suddenly raised her hands, dropping her headphones onto the floor. Her fingers were inches my face and I can't explain why but I didn't move. I had to know what she was going to do and it was causing my black heart to thump wildly against my rib cage.
I was just so damn curious and I wanted her to touch me.
Good lord!
Charlie stopped with her fingers barely grazing my skin when she jerked back very suddenly like I had burned her. Her red eyes went wide and she turned around quickly.
"I-I gotta go!" she shouted leaving me stunned where I stood.
Even after she left my room, I stood there frozen in my place unable to understand what just happened.

After a few hours of trying to figure out what just happened and why Charlie felt compelled to try and touch my face, I went looking for her. I even sent my shadows out to search for the blonde princess. They couldn't find her either. I spent a whole hour. AN HOUR looking for her and she was no where to be found.
Finally I went to the lobby with a mildly annoyed look on my face.
I didn't like the feeling I had in my chest. I hated it more than anything. I felt like the princess was actively avoiding me and I didn't like the feeling I got when that thought crossed my mind.
I paced the lobby a few times….
It was around four in the afternoon…. Dinner would be soon and Charlie would be down here to make it. I sat down on the black and red gaudy looking couch. I snapped my fingers for my book and started reading.
Another hour passed and she still didn't come down.
Instead….
It was Vaggie.
Good lord- it's as if Hell wasn't bad enough!
Her eye landed on me and she scoffed. Apparently my intentions were that transparent because she came to me walking with a spear in her hand.
"Why the hell are you down here?" she snapped.
I held up my book, "I wasn't aware reading was a crime my dear. If it is, I'll be sure to read a lot more if it offends you so much."
I gave her a wicked smile and she rolled her eye.
"If you're down here looking for Charlie, don't bother. She's passed out in her room."
My eyes widened a little, lowering my book into my lap and my eyebrows shot up.
"Passed out?"
I was shocked. Passed out from what? Was she sick?
My stomach twisted at the thought.
"Yea. She was acting all hung strung and weird. Then she proceeded to pound shots with Angel until she couldn't walk when he found her freaking out by herself. We dragged her to her room and rolled her on her side. She hasn't been drunk in a while. Sometimes, she's the type to get so stressed out and she needs to let loose."
"I see."
It was quite early for anyone to be drinking. I suppose Angel Dust drinking that early wasn't a shock but what did Charlie have to be so stressed out about? I figured we were having a grand time with our therapy sessions…. I suppose not. Did I miss something? She didn't seem to have a problem with opening up to me.
"I'm making chili for dinner. It should be done by six thirty if you want any."
"Alright then. Thank you Vagatha."
I returned my attention to my book and stayed there until dinner time. It would be so very rude of me to check on Charlie or even use my shadows for that matter so I kept to myself. I did indeed eat dinner with the rest of Charlie's sinners and then I retreated to my floor. I stopped at Charlie's door.
I shouldn't but I did. I knocked. I had to know if she was ok. It was going to drive me mad if I didn't at least find out if she was ok.
I heard an odd groan from the other side of the door.
"Charlie darling? Are you ok?"
If she was very drunk, she probably wouldn't be able to answer me but she groaned again more loudly. I grabbed the door knob and it was locked. My own shadow slipped under the door and unlocked it so I could go inside.
Yes, it was improper for me to do such a thing as going into a lady's bedroom but she didn't sound so good. I saw Charlie sitting on the floor at the side of her bed.
"My word Charlie…. You shouldn't be on the floor!"
"Trash… can," she breathed out in a way that suggested she would vomit.
I snapped my fingers and handed her the trashcan from my own room. I didn't use it anyways. She hugged it with all of her might and dry heaved. I had no idea why but I sat on her bed and pulled back those silky blonde locks. She groaned something and then puked violently.
She finished after a few minutes and the air now smelled sour of alcohol and vomit. Once I was absolutely sure she was done, I got up and headed for her bathroom. I found a wash rag on a rack on her wall and wet it with warm water. I returned to her, forcing my disgusted shadow to move the puked in trash can and I knelt down in front of her.
I just started wiping her face when her bedroom door flew open to reveal the angriest woman in Hell itself.
"What in the fuck are you doing up here?!" Vaggie screeched at me making my ears turn downward at the shrillness of her horrible voice.
The princess let out a groan of pain as she rolled her head back against her bed and I shot that horrible gray woman a dirty look. Her eyes went down to see the wash rag in my hand, her expression softened slightly. I returned my attention to my future dance partner and finished wiping off her face.
"Thawanks," she slurred.
"Stay right there Charlie dear."
She slurred something else but it didn't make any sense. I stood for second then leaned over to lift the poor princess to her feet high enough to lay her on the bed gently.
"Vagatha, can you fetch Miss Charlie some crackers and water?"
I leaned over her again to pull Charlie up to her pillows when I felt that woman grabbed my sleeve. I whipped around, my neck cracking in the process, causing her to gasp and let go of me. She looked scared for a second but then that brave face of hers came back at full force.
"Don't do anything to her!"
"Excuse me?"
"Don't take advantage of her!"
I'm not sure what expression I had on my face but I'm sure it showed I was clueless as to what she was talking about. She realized I had no idea what the world she was talking about she let out some sigh of relief and left.
It took me a few minutes before she returned to realize what in the hell she was talking about and I became infuriated.
With all the self restraint I had, I moved Charlie onto her pillows, making sure she was on her side and covered her up. She had her eyes closed the whole time, letting out a soft sigh. Vaggie came back in with the bottle of water and a pack of white crackers. She placed them on the night stand.
I barely gave her a second before I backed her out of Charlie's room. I knew my symbols were dancing around me wildly and I knew my entire being was screaming with murderous intent but I was furious. Her back hit the hallway wall and I slammed a hand against the dry wall. I loved how terrified she looked- it made me feel better.
"I do not appreciate you insinuating I would do such a thing to Charlie or anyone for that fact. I am not that kind of sinner. Whatever disgusting creatures slither and crawl around here is not my damn business but do not- do not think I am like any of them. Do you understand me you wench?"
"I-
I slammed my other hand against the wall pinning her in.
"You love her? Is that your excuse to treat me like utter crap when I haven't given you such a reason? I can assure you I would not harm anyone unless I wanted too and if I did, I would've done it already. I do not care for your damn feelings for the princess at all. The fact you reek of desperation says she doesn't like you like that and you must've lost her so you keep nagging to keep her at an arm's length at all times…. But do not drag me into your problems."
The looked of despair and hatred over took her wretched face. I almost laughed in her face. I hit the nail on the head because she looked like she was about to cry.
"You want any respect dear- act like it. I have the patience of a normal person but you are wearing it out very, very thin."
She only trembled.
"Do you understand?" I asked.
She nodded quickly. I straightened myself up and placed my hands behind my back.
"If you require my assistance, I'm down the hall. Shut off Charlie's alarm and I will take care of breakfast. If she isn't ok by lunch, let me know and I will do that too."
Vaggie nodded again, "Alright…. thanks Alastor."
"No problem dear."
I went to my room and stayed there for the rest of the night thinking.
Sleep wasn't going to come easy tonight.

So! I did breakfast as I intended.
Apparently breakfast tacos are a thing when one of the sinners came up to me when I was about to walk into the kitchen. I do not like taking orders but since they were so skittish about asking me, I went ahead and did it after they went on to explain what it was. I figured why not... Charlie would probably love the idea I got along with others.
This sinner was named Tai apparently and his father's side of the family made them when he was alive when he visited them.
Anyways, I made it more a serve yourself. I even put a threatening sign that said Don't Be Greedy, I'm Watching You. I placed out a silver tray of bacon and egg, ham and egg, bacon, sausage and egg and beans. I left the cheese on the side with tongs so those disgusting creatures don't touch it with their hands and the same for the tortillas.
I was rather unsure what Charlie would eat so I made one of each with cheese. I made her coffee as well and headed up to her room. My shadow was such a good fellow and let me know the princess was still recovering from her drunken endeavor from yesterday so I went and placed the food there on her stand. I was tempted to leave a note but I felt I was giving myself too much credit.
That was an odd thought.
I left her room and locked the door behind me before back downstairs to the lobby when I saw Vaggie almost running to the serving table. She looked delighted and that…. made me feel weird. I sat down on that gaudy couch and started reading my book when the gray skinned woman decided to plop down beside of me with a plate full of breakfast tacos.
"I haven't had these in a while! My grandmother made them all the time when I would go to her house! Who's idea was this?" she asked looking the happiest I've seen her and she was looking at me!
"That black demon looking fellow, Tai."
"Ah, I should've known! He was telling me about his dad's family a few weeks ago."
"I see."
"How in the fuck are you sitting beside of him?!"
I turned my head to see the adult video star looking at me like he had seen a ghost. Miss Vaggie snorted and started eating.
"He almost murdered me the first time I met him!"
"You probably deserved it knowing you!"
The spider demon looked offended and I gave him a smug smile. My, Vaggie was a riot when she wasn't angry! I cackled for a few seconds, seeing what little color he had drained from his face.
"You just think yer bad shit cause the Princess took a liking to ya! I held all about ya! You're sick- no matter how hot you are!" he screeched at me.
I tilted my head, my smile bordering on maniac, "What did you hear? Do tell!"
"You murder and eat other demons! Isn't that right?! Does your precious princess know that?!" Angel Dust snapped pointing his four index fingers at me.
Miss Vagatha stopped eating and stared at me. Her eye was wide but she stayed quiet like she was waiting for my answer.
"It is true. Miss Charlie knows all about it already and I'll have you know my body count is usually five to ten a day. I've cut it down quite drastically since I've been here. It seems I am looking to better myself a little at a time but how long have you been here? Have you shown any improvement at all? I think not considering how disgusting you still are and you barely lift a finger to help these poor ladies who are working so hard for your ungrateful bottom."
Miss Vagatha's lone eye looked like it was about to pop at my sudden confession. Apparently, I also left that gruesome spider speechless as well. While he stood there dumbfounded, I returned my attention to Vaggie.
"I placed coffee and food in Charlie's room. I suggest next time if she plans on doing that kind of drinking with the hotel's degenerates, that she drink some water and take some aspirin before she falls asleep. It's worked for me in the past."
"Oh, yea…. Thanks."
"You think you're such hot shit?!" Angel yelled at me again.
I was becoming annoyed greatly by his presence.
His finger came dangerously close and I snapped my book shut making him jump back.
"You touch me and Vaggie here will have to go through the trouble of ordering a cleaning service for all your innards and limbs being splattered everywhere against the floors and walls. I do not like being touched by filth, so take this one warning and do not touch me."
I saw the color drain from the woman beside of me but she stayed quiet. Angel Dust whipped around, swaying his ruler straight hips as he headed for the food. I let out a sigh of relief I hadn't noticed I was holding in. I opened my book again before glancing at Miss Vaggie.
"I do not mind your closeness. I allow those close if I like them enough but touching me is a no. So, do not be afraid dear. I won't harm you. Women are usually more interesting and intelligent than their male counterparts."
"Oh…. so you're straight?"
I cocked an eyebrow at her.
"I had a young man call me a Dorito once…. He did not live to tell anyone else."
The woman stared blankly at me for a good minute before she busted up laughing, almost dropping her half empty plate.
"No, no! Alastor- straight as in you like women!"
"Like women as in….?"
Her smiled faded off as I stared at her in utter confusion.
"Romantically, like women," she clarified.
"Oh."
I stared down at my book for a few minutes thinking about it.
"I do not believe I ever had such feelings for any woman I suppose."
"That's interesting," Vaggie simply said and started eating again.
"I need a coffee dear. Do you need anything?" I asked politely.
"No! I'm good for now."
I went to the kitchen humming to myself. Most of the sinners were done eating but there were a few stragglers so it would be a little bit before I could put everything up.
Why would Vagatha ask if I was romantically interested in women? It seemed like a strange topic for us to discuss. Perhaps there was something I was missing? I poured myself a cup and headed back to that ugly couch where Vaggie waited for me.
"Do you only like women?" I asked once I was settled.
"Yea. There's something about men in particular I don't like."
"Oh, I see."
"I dated a guy once. He didn't take my no as an answer and forced himself on me. That was the first fight I ever had been in and it landed him in the hospital. Once I was arrested, I moved away and never was with another guy after that. Women are nicer, more comforting and aren't always for a pissing contest."
I actually frowned, "That is quite unfortunate but at least he learned hopefully never to underestimate another lady such as yourself."
She snorted, "I doubt it. Shitheads like that don't change no matter what. Once they think they can control everything, it goes to their head. They can't change."
Well….
That left me feeling…..
Unnerved.

The Princess of Hell did not come out for lunch either much to my dismay. I felt as if maybe she was avoiding me in some way and left me feeling…. odd. Vaggie assisted me today in the lunch making duties. It was rather unimaginative but it was hot dogs and fries. Apparently Angel Dust was a bottomless pit when it came to eating and I ended up seeing it for myself. That lanky fellow devoured ten hot dogs and a half a pound of fries.
The mothy woman sat beside of me at one of the tables furthest away from the others. We didn't really chat much about anything in particular but I somewhat enjoyed her idle chit chat. I hadn't planned to spend the rest of the afternoon here at Charlie's Happy Hotel. I needed to get out and release some of my frustrations on some scum to make myself feel better.
"I'm making meatloaf," Vaggie informed me as I stood up, "Do you want me to save you a plate?"
"No thank you, that's very kind of you but I may stay out a little after dinner. I have a couple of companions to check on since my absence. I have to make sure they're still alive after all."
"Alright."
That was that.
I had no idea what I wanted to do with myself- I just needed out of that hotel. I had simply wanted to have Charlie's attention and I wasn't getting it. That left me bothered. That one week was enough to make me crave her attention to a degree it was almost disgusting.
Well….
She had me hooked after one night of dancing and that was months ago now.
Good lord what was wrong with me?
I went tearing through downtown, covered in viscera as I made my way back to my radio tower. Niffty greeted me with an angry screech of words I couldn't understand, since I made her clean floor dirty.
"I can't believe you disappear and then you come back covered in blood on my floor!"
"I apologize darling…. I'm simply in a bad mood is all."
She looked at me weirdly.
"You are?"
I gave a quick nod. She suddenly looked more empathetic for some reason. She's never aimed a look like that at me before. I frowned at her trying to figure out what she was thinking.
"So…. did Charlie not want to dance with you?"
"Well….." I trailed off.
"Would you like a drink Alastor?"
"If you don't mind, darling. Thank you."
Such a sweet one Niffty was. She didn't question me anymore once I cleaned myself off and headed for my chair. She placed the stiff drink in my hands and was gone to cleaning the mess I made. I actually felt a little bad about it….
Hmmm….
Apparently Charlie's ridiculous ideals was making me…. nicer.
Suddenly I was so annoyed, I couldn't help but huff and my inner radio just screeched making Niffty jump, knocking the mop on the floor in the process. She heard me sigh again, so she abandoned her mop and came over to me looking curious. I suppose I was never like this and she seemed so interested in seeing what my issue was I couldn't even argue with her.
"I'll get me a drink and we'll talk!"
I only nodded and stared down at the amber liquid in my glass. She returned shortly with a red drink with little strawberries on the rim of the glass and a large amount of whipped cream on top. I arched an eyebrow at her with an amused smile on my lips as she placed her lips on the bright pink straw she had shoved in the thick liquid.
"So, what's bothering you Alastor?" Niffty asked looking very concerned, "You're only like this with Vox but this time it seems you're a little sad."
"Hmmm, sad you say?"
She nodded quickly.
Was I sad?
"So, tell me. What happened between you and Charlie?"
I proceeded to spill my guts to the little lady before me as she sipped her drink carefully, listening to every word. Her expression changed every once in a while. The most notable of all was when I told her about Charlie doing shots with that disgusting porn star. How I held back her hair, insulted Vaggie and everything else after that.
"What do you think is the problem Niffty? What did I do wrong?" I asked.
"Am I able to speak freely or will you try and kill me when I tell you my answer?" she asked with a big grin.
I cackled, my bad mood lifting quite a lot.
"I won't kill you dear."
"Alright!" she placed her glass down and looked at me with her eye, wide, "I cannot believe this…. but I think you might be crushing a little."
I stared at her eye without blinking for the longest time she started to look uncomfortable.
"I think she kind of caught you when you two danced and that's why you obsessively looked for her…. I mean…. I knew you went out whenever there was party. It's hard to miss when I did the same thing when I was alive!"
She laughed manically before sighing.
"I see…."
"It doesn't mean the start of it is unhealthy though," Niffty said waving her hands, "The fact you went to her place and hung out with her…. You developed something with her- that's why you did all those nice things on your own without her asking. You simply like her enough to want to see her smile!"
I drummed my fingers against the arm of my chair.
"I understand…. So how do I make it stop?"
Niffty snorted and coughed loudly.
"Stop it? Do you really want too?"
"Yes."
"Then you can't go back."
I straightened up in my seat.
"What?"
"In order to make all those feelings go away, you shouldn't be around her anymore. Not even to dance Alastor. Not even for that."
My chest suddenly felt heavy and it was like my stomach dropped.
"My word Niffty! Are you sure that's the only way?!"
"The only way, Alastor."
"I don't know how I feel about that."
She smiled but it was a soft, heart felt one.
"Well, then go back!"
"Just go back?"
"You really like her!"
"I do not believe in such things."
The little darlin' had the audacity to scoff at me like she didn't believe my words. I glared at her for a moment when she decided to finish off her drink. She looked rather thoughtful for a moment then placed the glass down.
"See, the thing is… You can go all your life thinking something like that wouldn't happen but it does when you least expect it too. You may have not had any thoughts on it before because you simply didn't allow it to happen. You aren't the type to just let anyone close! You sealed your fate the moment she came back and started dancing with you! It could be just platonic- it could be more than that."
Niffty stood up and plucked my empty glass from my hands. She disappeared and returned quickly. She placed it in my hand. I gave her a big smile. She simply was the best thing Hell had to offer when it came to something like her.
"Do you want more than a hell of a dance partner?"
"I have no idea."
"Ok… Let me try something!"
She reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. I wrinkled my nose at the device. For some odd reason she turned it sideways and had it facing me. I heard a weird beep come from it.
"I want you to think about Charlie now."
I instantly smiled at the thought of her but I had no idea what Niffty was trying to get at. She watched me for a few seconds longer before she tapped on the screen of her blasted device.
"Alright. Sooooo, are you ready to see how you feel about her?"
"You're phone can tell how someone feels about another?" I asked looking fascinated.
"Well, no…."
She turned it around to show me the screen where I saw my face. She pressed the triangle that was in the middle and it I heard Niffty ask me to think about Charlie. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect but I did not know my face could look like that. My face relaxed instantly, I smiled and my eyes looked weird- like I was fond or something. I've seen those looks before.
GOOD LORD- I was coming down with something!
The look on Niffty's face was rather comical and I started laughing once I saw it.
"Why did you look so horrified for?!" she asked loudly, "You act like it was the worse thing you ever saw!"
Once I managed to control myself, I chuckled darkly.
"I know what that look is."
"You do?"
"I do. I… I've seen it on a lot of people's face when I became popular at my daytime job."
"Ok…. so what is it then?"
I let out a sigh, gulped down my drink quickly. After a minute, I stared at Niffty who was awaiting my answer.
"I-I'm smitten with Charlie Morningstar."
Reynaldo Reyes: do you mean off this story? I hadn't really planned to do any longer than 10 chapters. I kind of was dipping my toes into different types of stories to see which one I liked best. So far, I like all of them. I kind of started one with Alastor being a wendigo. I read a few one shots on AO3 I really liked but none of them were too long. They were adorable though lol
The most popular AU i've seen is a human Charlie in the 1920's with Alastor.
