Chapter 1: Prologue

Year c.839

Paradise Island, Remnant of Eldia

Oldenburg Manor, close to Ehrmich District, Wall Sina.

Lord Lukas Oldenburg POV

To say that Lukas Oldenburg, the patriarch of the ones great house of Oldenburg was having a bad day would be an understatement. The problem would have to be that he and now his family were being hunted down by the royal govermant, and the First Interior Squad it's self, because he and his family to some case opposed the kings will.

"Come on, we don't have all day we need to hurry before the MPs arrive!" Lukas shouted, at what was left of the Servest that stayed loyal to his family and to the guards that also stayed, packing what they would need for the road to Wall Maria.

Lukas always knew that he and his family to some degree, was always on thin ice, with how they talked about the way the kingdom was run and about the outside world. But he would never, in his whole life, have thought that he and his family would be called traitors to the kingdom and hunted down like scum of the world, and to make things worse, this was commanded, By non-other than his childhood friend Uri Reiss himself... the true king of the walls. He would always talk with Uri and with his brother Rod, about the outside world and about how one day when they were younger; they would free the people of Paradise form the titans sent there by Marley. But everything changed 10 years ago when Uri inherited the foundering titan from his father; he became more distant to their old ideas and to him in general. Even then he still had hope that Uri can make their dreams true, after Uri had pardoned the Arkermans after years of persecutions of that family and even allowed Kenny Arkerman or Kenny the ripper who was well known for his mass killings of MP's, and now he was his personal bodyguard. He had hoped that with this it would be a new beginning for the people of Paradise. He was dead wrong, with all his power and his well he tried meaning times to negotiating with Uri about his ideas, but all fell on death ears. All thanks to the ghost and will of the 145th king of the Eldian Empire.

"If not for that bastard and the dame Tyburs... we wouldn't be in this mess." But then again his family was one of the many noble houses to join the 145th king grand escape, in hope that the king would save his Subjects from extermination from their enemies. But they would be wrong, the king would wiped their memories of the outside world, making the people believe they were the last of humanity in a world overrun by the Titans.

Of course some of the old Eldian nobility were Immune to the founders powers, dose being the Ackerman's, Oriental clan and the Oldenburg's and some other non Elden nobility, to keep silent the king promised status of power, as most of the old nobility included the Oldenburg's would agree to this. But the Ackerman's and the oriental would be the first to oppose the king, for that, they would be hunted down and almost wipe out. He knew some of the Ackerman's survived but for the oriental clan, chances were low with how they looked completely different to any one else on this island and thanks to that was easier to find. Worst part was the Oldenburg's were about to meet the same fate as the latter.

"No that won't happen, over my dead body!". He said to him to himself, but then again there were only four of them left, his eldest, John was killed by Kenny and the second and his family were ambushed by Interior MPs nobody survived from what he new and he had didn't now what happened to his only daughter. Only he his brother, sister-in-law and his grandson of his eldest son was all that was left. Looking around they were almost ready to leave this place.

"Lord Oldenburg the carriage is ready to go everything is ready for your escape" said George one of his oldest friends who was the captain of his guards.

"Good bring Lady Sofia and my grandson Leon," he said to George.

The man nodded and went off to get his sister in law and his grandson, as of staring down the road they would be taking somebody came be hide him. Looking around he saw his younger brother Tobias Oldenburg standing and looking at him with sadness in his eyes.

"You know I never thought that we would have to hide for the rest of our lives in." Tobias said.

"Me too" He replied.

"So we going by the plan" he said looking at me with his normal smug face. He turned to him and answered him.

"Yes, we will be going to wall Maria for hiding, somewhere the Interior MP's won't look, probably Shiganshina." Lukas said to his brother.

"We will be breaking up at Trost you will caution onto Wall Maria without me." He said, for a minute I stopped myself and looked at him with disbelieve.

"What do you mean it would be much safer for us to stay together" Lukas said.

"I now but... somebody should keep tabs on the royal government and at the moment I'm the only one who can do this." He said looking at me, after some time I nodded and agreed on to this change at that moment both Sofia and Leon came. Sofia was trying to look as here normal self but that was hard after hearing about her husband's death and Leon was his normal self, happy and with a lot of energy as was his father.

"Grandpa why are we living our home?" His grandson asked him in an innocent voice looking at me I tried to hold my tears in, 'it is not the time to cry' Lukas said to myself after all they needed to move and fast.

"We are just going to move places for some time, when things get better we will come back I promise" I said the kid nodded and step into the carriage as doing that I look at the mother who herself was trying to hole her tears in.

"How are you doing dear, I know things are going to be hard after Johns death..." Lukas said to her.

"I know it's just so sudden and we were just not ready for something like this to happen" Sofie said. As she stepped into the carriage Lukas after looked at ask for all of the servant and guards to come close so he could explain their next actions.

"Thank you all for service to my family for as long as you were under our services so form now you are all relive form your services form the Oldenburg family". Lukas said to the servant and guards who were shocked at this bold statement.

"Lord Lukas we still can help your family" George said looking at him.

"I know and I'm happy to have known you all and have you as friends but live the rest of your lives with your families not serving an old family that are now traitors to the king". He said looking at them and one b y one they left until only George and Oldenburg family was left.

"Our you sure about that my lord" George looked at Lukas well asking him this question.

"Yes old friend I'm for sure now it's time for us to go, goodbye old friend and good luck out there" Lukas said, this would be the last time he would see George.

getting on the perch with his brother (N/A were the driver sits in the carriage.) with his daughter-in-law and his grandchild in the back, and riding off to Trost. Looking at his old home he live his whole life set aflame by George this would the last time he would ever see it. he only Hoped that his grandson would see his hope.

N/A: So that was my first chapter for this story hope you guys enjoyed it, this was small as I just wanted to talk about the family a bit. Also this is a Au a bit, with the technology being a bit... advents then in the original timeline, were in the original it was somewhere in the 1800s, in this one it's late 1830s. On why I did this is because I just personally don't think that everything was not allowed to advents, just my opining.
