Chapter 5: Ackerman vs Oldenburg
Year c.847
Paradise Island, Remnant of Eldia
Training camp, somewhere close to, Wall Rose,
Leon Oldenburg POV
As Leon stood in the sunlight watching others of the 104th cadet training he thought of want happened in the last 9 months; most of the training for the past 9 months was, ODMs training, titan biology (or on how much most of the population it allowed to no) on how to kill the titans or immobile them and survieval. But today it was Hand-to-hand combat training, this was more against human enemies being how would you use this against giants, Leon was just waiting for Eren to get off the ground after throwing him on to it. For him this part of training was easy well almost, most parts of the cadets course was easy to him, being that he had trained for two years before joining the cadets. Also being that most cadets didn't have any fighting experience, or had very little or were weaker then him, plus with their families fighting style that was only known by their family and was made to fight other people it made a lot of sense on why he defected most people in the course easily.
"I don't think I'm doing it right" Eren said as he gotten from the ground.
"Don't worry about it, most people start off like you, with more practice you will be as good as me in no time."
"It reminds me, were did you learn how to fight" Eren asked him.
"Well my granduncle, taught me, if you want to know" Leon said, he wasn't laying, he was trained and how taught how to fight buy his granduncle, he didn't really see a problem in telling that.
"Well your granduncle, seems to know a lot, doesn't he" Eren said.
"Yep, you can say that." And yes the Leon granduncle new a lot, being first part of the internal MP's, and being the commander for some time before leaving one year before the "betrayal of the king" happened. The internal MP's were trained in hand-to-hand and ODM usage, and survival training, in other words made to be best of the best in there kingdom. The only ones that came close were the scouts, being that the only the best survived in there ranks, outside the walls and inside.
"Well come on then, we don't have all day, let me show you the last fundamental move to my fighting style" Leon said. In his families fighting style there is five fundamental moves, there were more but these were the most imported ones that were taught first. The Leg sweep, which is meant to imbalances you're opened, by kicking behind your enemy's leg, to get them on the ground after that, you put your knee on his chest and do a quick punch to the head to knock out your enemy. Second would be the Side Kick, were when the enemy would through a punch you would grab it and pull on it to you before using your planted leg to kick into yours enemies rib cage, pushing him back and giving you space. Thirdly would be the calf crush that it used to break a person calf, in using your legs of surrounding the person's calf and pushing on it. Also, there is the scissor take-down, which is when you use you're to legs and to imbalances, the person you are fighting. Lastly the Uchi Mata, which is one of the many take downs, it is one of the easiest, you would need to do first is placing your body in a dominant position. You have control over his posture and his arm. Once you are sure you are in a dominant position; you now have to decide the best way to go into this move. One way is to go directly into it. This means you are in a position to enter into the throw and complete it. There are more move but that are the main ones in his fighting style and the ones he is trying to teach Eren, he was also trying to teach him how to throw punches, at somebody , in the right way, that was going batter though.
As Eren moved in, Leon grabbed Eren's sleeves, then getting into the dominant position, and throwing him to the ground, as Eren was on the ground Leon got on one knee and said.
"That is want we call a Uchi Mata, it's a take downs I now and is easy to learn, with knowing this moves you should go and use them on people on your level and when you get ready, we can get up a level" Leon said, but as he did his family senses hit in. it felt that if he won't move now something will fall on him, so he move out of the way, and how you see Reiner fall on Eren, it seemed that it was going for him.
'Weird, it would seem that was going for me but who what to do that and why?' Leon thought, but was interrupted by somebody calling his voice.
"Hey Leon" he heard his name being called as he turned his head around, he saw the caller. It was none other than Mikasa Ackerman, looking straight at him, with anger showing in her eyes; it was probably because he hunted Eren when training and she didn't like it. This was probably the biggest reason on way it was heard to training and spare with Eren, because Mikasa would always be there stop it.
"Yes Mikasa, what is it."
"You seem good with your techniques, so how about you show me" she said, he already new she was asking him, or more like telling him they are going to fight. He really didn't, want to fight angry Ackerman, who also unlooked their powers; it was something he didn't want to do. But it also seemed that not only he heard what Mikasa asked of him.
"Hey guys, look Mikasa and Leon are about to fight" said Connie, and on que, a giant crowd crowding around the both of them.
"Who do you think is going to win?"
"I don't know" said another cadet.
"I betting my whole dinner on Mikasa" said Jean.
"Wait did someone say something about food" said Sasha.
As people talked to one and other about who would win in the fight that was about to happen. Reiner helped Eren off the ground before asking a question to Eren about the fight that was about to happen in front of them, at that moment.
"So who do you think is going to be the winner in this confrontation" Reiner said looking at the two fighters.
"What?" said Eren looking at Reiner confused.
"I said who out of does two do you think is going to win in a fight" he said now eyes on Eren.
"Well I don't really know… Mikasa is probably the strongest person I ever known in my life but… Leon is a good fighter who hasn't lost yet, so I don't exactly know who out of two of them would win" he said. Looking at the two, he really didn't know who would win, in fact Mikasa and Leon are out of the three best had-to-hand fighters in the 104th (and pretty much everything else to) the third being Annie.
"Well then let me refreeze my question" Reiner said looking at the two cadets ready to fight. Eren looked at him waiting for Reiner to say his question to him.
"Who do you want to win in this fight" Reiner said.
"Who do I want to win?" Eren didn't know how to answer that question, in other words he didn't know who he wanted to win in this fight. His first answered would be Mikasa, but she was always at the top and better then everyone, she always nagged him on about something not being safe, or always intervening on him behave, without him asking. Where Leon, has being teaching him how to fight like Annie, and has help him in the ODM training, he was also the probably one of the only people who could bit Mikasa in something , so Eren thought about want his answer was to Reiner.
'Mikasa is my sister and she have been with me for four years, but she's always batter then everyone, like she is it even human" he thought.
'But Leon is the second best had-to-hand fighter he knows, in the 104th and had been teaching me how to fight so who?'
"So Eren" Reiner said, as Eren looked at the two before answering.
"I… think I want… Leon to win" Eren said, what Eren didn't know was the both Mikasa and Leon heard what he said, and both had different reactions. Leon Turned, his head to Eren's direction, looking at the boy, with anger in his eyes.
'YOU GOTTA BE FUCK KIDDING ME EREN' Leon screamed inside his head, looking at Eren, knowing that he was going to fight the person who was close to Eren. He looked back at Mikasa, and it seemed, that she was hurt by the comment.
'Well done Eren you really no how to word your fucking thoughts don't you' Leon thought, but then Mikasa looked at him, and now she wasn't mad but infuriate, but not at Eren but Him. He was completely confused at way she was angry at him.
'The fuck is she angry at me.' In truth he wouldn't use his powers in normal situation moment, but fighting an angry Ackerman, who unlocked there powers and was probably going to try kill him. So ye it seemed he didn't really have a choice here at the moment.
"Well then Ackerman, do you want to be attacker or defender" he asked.
"It doesn't really matter!" she almost snarled at.
"Ok then" Leon got back into his stents, as Sasha came up being the Jude of the match that was about to happen.
"Both fighter s ready' she said but both Mikasa and Leon didn't answered they just looked at each other ready to fight and nothing else.
"Beginning" said the girl as she moved back not wanting to be part of what was about to happen. As she ran back Mikasa moved to attack being he was supposed to be the attacker in this fight but for Mikasa that didn't matter. As she did attack by first throwing straight punches, Leon instinctively dogged them, he then caught one of her punches, then kicking into yours hers rib cage, pushing Mikasa back and giving Leon breathing space. As Mikasa stumbled back from the attack and then getting her back together, Leon moved in and through a high left Kick to her head, she instinctively blocked it with her arms, before throwing a right hook at his head. But Leon caught the head again and tried to do the Leg sweep, but Mikasa realized want he was trying to pull before herself, throwing a powerful kick that landed, forcing Leon back. With them having space they looked at each other thinking how to out match the other.
'Well it seems she is it using all of the power she has, that's something and it seems she knows some of my moves, maybe I should mix it up a bit' Leon thought as he prepared for attack to come. If Mikasa didn't attack then he would go on the offensive, using some over techniques he learned from his granduncle when training with him. But from want it seemed after some breathing space Mikasa attacked again, but this time he was ready, he was going to use a move that would be perfect for this moment being that Mikasa was moving fast. As Mikasa came close he used the Sacrifice throw, as she was about to throw a other punch he grabbed her and fell back on his back, at the same time putting his foot in her midsection, throwing her over. The thing with this takedown was the master and more powerful the attack is the fathered the attacker would go flying and land harder, and that what just happened. As he stood up he moved to Mikasa who was on the ground no, thinking he just needed to let the knife make contact with her body he would win. That was his first mistake, as he was about to do that mikasa kicked at his leg, unbalanced, him and going to the ground and getting on him to take him out.
'Shit I should have known that Mikasa would do that I'm going to have to use the fucking powers if I want to win this fucking fight' thought Leon. He for the first time in the cadet course, was going to used his powers, this allowed him to over power Mikasa for sometime, allowing him to get a upper hand. The latter half of the fight for Leon was just him and Mikasa struggling to overpower one and other, using anything they can to win. But after stunning her and getting on top of her the and got her in a lock the fight was pretty much over.
"Well it seems I won, it would be wise to you to surrender or you may break some bounds if we continue and even…" but before he could finish he was interrupted.
"Cadet Olden, Cadet Ackerman who the World told you can fuck on my training grounds!" Shedis yelled looking at the two, some sinkers and laughter was heard from the crowd of cadets.
"WHAT!" both Mikasa and Leon said in unison, both of them confused on why there instructor said that before realizing in want position they were. Beginning he was between her legs on top of her, would give off a bad imprecation and intention, or Shadise was just fucking with him.
"We weren't…" he tried but was interrupted again.
"Its understandable being your age and all but you do it on your own time, not in my camp or my training grounds, do I make myself clear cadet Olden"
"But…"
"DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR CADET" the instructor yelled.
"Yes sir" Leon answered being he didn't want talk about this.
"And this goes for everyone, understood cadets"
"YES SIR" answered the crowed of cadets.
"WELL THEN GET BACK TO FUCKING TRAINING NOW!" the instructor yelled at them, as Leon when back to the informative to get some bandages for the wounds he got from the fight. He didn't notes Mikasa razing her scarf to hide the blush that was on her face, also being asked a lot of questions for the cadets on if he was okay being that he gotten a lot of bruises and wounds.
"So are we continuing on our sparing or…?" Eren asked, but Leon didn't answer as he just walked away not caring in the world. he was to angry to speak to anyone being that he had been embarrassed in the hall 104th cadet course.
(Later that day)
As Leon got his trait of food he was looking through were he would sit he didn't really feel like being with anyone today after the fight. So he looked around for any table with nobody at it, but sadly all of the table were taken, so he looked around and found one being used by one person, he knew that person would most likely not talk about want happened and wouldn't ask any questions. That person being Annie Leonhart, she was probably the only person that wouldn't talk about what happened today, so he went to that table. As he set down, Annie looked up looking a bit confused, or that what Leon thought it was head to understand want was going through Annie, as he set there was a long silent of Annie looking at him before Leon spoke up.
"What is it" he asked looking at his food.
"It's just wearied that you would choose to sit here," she said.
"Well this was just the only table with one person" he answered.
"Then why not sit with Jean and Marco, it seems that you guys are close or something" she said.
"Well if you're asking, the reason on why I didn't sit with were I often sit is that both of them would start talking about want happened today" he said as he took in a seep out of his cup.
"Then Jean was mostly pisst of losing the bidet to Sasha, and want happened with me and Mikasa, so no, then most other people would ask me or annoy me about want happened today" he said now looking at her.
"And you choose this table because you think I wouldn't be asking about your love match with Ackerman." She said, as Leon inwardly cringed at want people started to call his a Mikasa fight.
'Shit, should have used a different technique on her, if I did nothing like this would have happened' he thought as to how badly he fucked up this time.
"Well yes, that is the reason I set here and I hope I don't have to regret it" He said.
"Don't worry about it, I don't really care about in the first place" Annie said, but as there conversation ended Jean and Eren were at it again, something to do with the scouts it something. But before it could escalate, Mikasa herself stepped in this time and stopped thinking that could have happened will it looked like that before Jean grabbed Eren's shirt.
"You bastard" said Jean.
"Hi let go of my shirt" answered Eren.
"Shut up bastard" as the fight was about to happen, Leon thought that it would just be some punches or something. But something he didn't think would happen, happened, Eren used on of his moves that he told and teach, that being the Uchi Mata, as Jean was one the ground now most of the cadets were surprised, the most being Leon and Annie.
"Well it seems Eren Learned something from my lessons" he said.
"Ye it seems like it" Annie said also surprised at want Eren just pulled.
"What was that" said Jean, looking at Eren from the ground, with something of confusion on his face.
"It's called an Uchi Mata, it something I learned from training, and fucking doing something not like you who has been slaking of" Eren said. But as He did that the door opened, showing a Shaides, who seemed angry at the commotion that happened.
"What is all the noise Cadets" he said,
'Well it seems like the whole corps about to get in trouble because of the two" he thought but before anyone could do anything Mikasa came to the rescue, by throwing Sasha under the Bus.
"Sir Sasha let out gas" she said to the complete shock to Sasha, and with most of the cadets snickering at want was said.
"As expected from cadet Braus, really need to get that under control cadet Braus" the instructor said before leaving. Most of dinner went normal as any day before, the bell ring for the end of it, Leon waited for most people to live so he could have some time for his self. After sometime he was the only person left in the hall, and then he took his leave, but as he left the hall outside he was stopped with somebody calling his name. As he turned around he saw Mikasa standing there looking at him.
"What is it Mikasa" He said.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry about want happened today and that…" she said before Leon interrupted.
"Don't worry about it, I was also in the wrong when we had the fight, also I bet Armin advised you to ask forgivens" he said, as a long and awkward silent between then began, he didn't know want to say as they stayed there. It seemed Mikasa wanted to say more, probably, about the training he did with Eren and that she didn't like it or something not wanting to prolong this he started first.
"Do you have more to say" he said, as Mikasa sighted before starting.
"It's just I don't like it when Eren gets hurt" she blurted it out, as looking at the floor.
"We'll all of as have things we don't like, but it doesn't change that some of these things we have to do, one of them is getting hurt when training" he said, crossing his arms.
"I have a promise to keep protecting Eren to someone and I'm not going to break it" she answered back.
"Well were solders, its part of the job also you're not really doing a good job; I did win in the end" he answered back.
"That won't happen again, and you're going to help me in that" she said.
"And how are you going to do that"
"You're going to spare with me from now on" she said.
"And why should I agree on that" he said looking at her.
"Most people you spared with head no experience in fighting, and with sparing with me there will be less of chances of Eren getting hurt and me getting better at fight" she said, as Leon sighed.
"Fine, I do need more stronger fighters after all" he said, as again a long silets between them begin, before Leon spoke up.
"Well it getting dark so goodnight them" he said as he left, it seemed as Mikasa wanted to say more but, in the end she ddin't say anything any more.
N/A: well there is chapter 5 to my story, sorry for the long wait being i was working on a side project, but the next chapters will be coming out soon.
