Chapter 2: shock and awe

It's hard to say goodbye to a place you had always called home. A thought that could not leave my head as the main elevator crawled up the many floors the vault spanned. After a short wait, I heard these words:

Floor 0 exterior access.

Well, here we go, into the open… Why is it always one? Why can't there be two people… Well sometimes one is the burden of the other, so it makes sense to send only one at a time.

The elevator gently stops, and a couple of seconds pass before I hear a small bell. The elevator doors slide open, revealing a stubby corridor leading to a dead end as a HUGE solid concrete slab blocks the way. It's a confusing picture.

No one told me this… Thing was in the middle of the way. How the hell do they expect me to remove this?

Suddenly, I hear a buzzer.

Hey, em… It's me, the Overseer! Now, you might be confused by the optics of a concrete slab in front of you. This is part of the water seal! The elevator has triple doors, the one from the elevator itself, one sealing every floor, and another on the first floor that opens at the same time as the ones of the elevator

Interesting, but you are forgetting something. THERE IS A GOD DAMNED GIANT SLAB OF SOLID CONCRETE IN FRONT OF ME!

HEY! Take a chill pill, I mean no ill will! Now, in our vault, there is constant overpressure to keep small leaks of water, toxic gasses, and fumes out. Between you and the main vault door 5 auxiliary concrete walls, each having more pressure than the former one. As we open them your body pressure should equalize to that of the outside world.

Well, that makes more sense

Prepare yourself, the first slab is opening.

After that chat, the concrete slab does as the Overseer told me. It starts to slide as a warning light cries over my head. After some time it finalizes sliding and neatly hides within a wall groove made for it. A plate of thin aluminum slides covering it. I spend most of the time sitting down, only getting up to approach the next slab when it opens. Overall, I'm quite enjoying this well-deserved break.

After 5 minutes the last slab opens and I see it: a gigantic steel-plated reinforced concrete gate shaped like a 12 teeth cog. From my side I can see it has some sort of inner cog as well that protrudes from the main one; it has 5 inner grooves and 8 outer ones to give the extracting arm some extra grip. Suddenly I hear outside air pouring in. As I read once in an operating manual of this door, each tooth in the cog has a hydraulic pusher that of course, pushes the door outside and into a track. Then, the extracting arm plugs into the inner cog, rolling the door out of the way. This plus the cork shape of the door created quite a formidable water and air seal, and the pressure of the ocean sealed the door even further, suddenly another intercom message.

Godspeed comrade.

I don't answer. I was too occupied gazing at the door's opening. As it opens I manage to gaze into the outside world: a long cave and a bright light at the end of it

Another buzzer and the door is no longer in my way. I started to walk down the corridor like a moth following a lamp; I was hypnotized by the sunlight coming from outside the cave. The walking is complicated as the ground is very uneven; it is also filled with grooves and stumps, even some really sharp rocks. Avoiding them is the only thing that distracts me from my desire to get out of the cave. I hear birds outside and see the light approach. Being so impatient I run towards it, it's getting closer and closer until I just bust out of the dark cave.

My god, it's glorious! I haven't felt like this since I got inside the vault. I'M ALIVE! The sun looks amazing, and it feels warm too! I was not expecting this. What I had in mind would be something like a barren wasteland of pain and sorrow, filled with deadly heinous mutants and dangerous anomalies or radiation hot spots, but this is an awesome revelation! The Earth is as marvelous as it was before the flooding!

The tainted glasses of my mask mitigate the effect of the sun in my eyes. I would not be able to see if they were regular glasses. My grudge against the Overseer quickly fades away as the lush green meadows and small trees cover the horizon where the sky meets the soil. I take my reinforced phone and play "Let's Talk About A Man" by Giorgio and Andréa Prezioso as I start to run like a child that just got permission to be outside after a long forced stay inside their home.

I never expected the earth to be so vibrant and alive! And the air is so clean and fresh. I feel like I might overdose on oxygen if I breathe harder than needed. There are trees, stones, foliage, rivers, FUCKING RIVERS MY MAN! Damn, I didn't realize how badly I miss the outside world! If things go like this, I might cover the whole 30k radius in a breeze! This day has gone incredibly well so far.

I spend most of the next 30 minutes jogging across the woods, jumping and sliding to traverse the rough terrain. Jumping about stones and thick roots, sliding down steep slopes, or crawling under low branches. This is making good use of my time so far. The PDA automatically maps my surroundings and keeps track of the location of the mother vault in case I need to go back and restock, even though considering the walk in the park this has been, I don't think I'll need to go bad that much to restock.

After about an hour of constant running, I make a quick stop to rest and take a bite or two from my food reserves. I search for a suitable place to sit and build a makeshift refuge. I find a depression covered by the roots of a tree and near a stream of water, an idyllic place to claim as mine and build something.

This is exciting; I'm the first man to step on the surface of the Earth in the last twelve millennia! I hope history books have me on the front cover! And even more considering I'm going to build the first human structure as well! I'll use the multi-purpose machete I got issued to cut down some branches, then I'll lay them on that big root behind the depression, over the slope and create some sort of wall and roof combination, then I will take some mud and vegetation to make it waterproof and then, at last, A CAMPFIRE!

I start getting some branches for my little project, using both my weight and the weight of my gear to snap medium branches. I use my issued machete to cut thinner ones; cutting them is easier than expected, but it is indeed tiring. Last but not least I use the serrated end of the machete to cut the thickest branches that will give my hut the structural integrity so it doesn't crumble on top of me at night. It's not like I want a heavy branch to crush my head while I'm dreaming about girls… Yes, sounds pathetic, I know.

That's it, done. Now, let's make it waterproof.

I walk towards the small river near my improvised shelter. I pile up mud, leaves, lichen, and twigs among other filth. I walk back and smother the mulch on the branches, making sure to apply a thick enough layer. I go back to the river to grab some more and repeat the process. I do it several times before feeling like a thick enough layer of said materials is covering the branches.

Ok, now I need a fire over here. Light is starting to be scarce and I need something to scare away whatever creatures in these woods. Why did mother vault have to send me here in the evening? Why not early in the morning? You know, so I can have all of the day for myself and my things. Oh well, at least I can get some rest now… Speaking of resting, this kit they gave me is not 40 kilos; it's at least 50… Damn Overseer, always screwing me over.

I pull out the compression bag and open it, seeing two things: a synthetic futon covered in organic petate for reinforcement, and a usual sleeping bag with some rags to clean stuff. I use the rags to clean my shoes and my hands so I don't get the sleeping bag all messed up from the get-go, but before hittin' the hay I take some time to gather things for the fire: a scratch from a dry tree stump to make a starter for the fire, and some logs to feed the fire. I grabbed from the bag some flint and a steel rod that was in there, took a few swings to get a small spark onto the starter, and

Gently covered it from the wind with my hands while blowing on it till it started to burn. Quickly, I drop it along with the bigger logs, branches, and twigs. With some time it turns into a decent size fire.
Well, it seems it's ready now. Finally, some well-deserved sleep. My little sis would have loved to experience a place like this… God, I miss her every day and night. I wish things could have gone differently, but the money used to make the world spin and I did not have enough. I hope she is in a better place, watching down on me and looking after me like we used to do with each other.

After cleaning myself a little and setting everything up for my makeshift bed, I enter the sleeping bag to get used to the stiffness of the futon and set my eyes shut.

Brother, you don't need to do that, I'm not six years old anymore. I don't need you holding my hand when we go out to school. You're embarrassing me!

Well, I'm your older brother. I must take care of you, as I'm sure you remember you're safer grabbing my hand.

Yeah, I know. I miss mom and dad. Since the accident things have been harsh.

Well, thank god that I had finished my military college, so I can take care of you, and the government won't take you away from me.

That is a great thing big bro indeed great.

Alright, let's get you something to eat.

Yay!

I suddenly open my eyes, all crusty-eyed and more tired than I was when I went to sleep. I think I had a dream, or maybe a memory of my sister and me getting ready for our day. I would leave her in school as I went my way toward work. Ahh, golden days, but I think they will never come back. Though hope is the last to die. I get out of the sleeping bag and look outside. The fire has died a long ago, with the only thing remaining being a small pile of ash, my stomach growls demanding me some food, my mouth also demands me to drink something, I quickly reignite a smaller fire to get some water from the flask boiling, I pull out one of my ready to eat meals and make it, some instant coffee, canned meat, and vegetable snacks that taste like crap but is enough to make my body shut up. As a dessert: some black chocolate that tastes as if I had somehow missed the chocolate bar and was eating the wrapper it came with, I store whatever items I haven't used or eaten of the MRE, considering I'll need them later. I get up and walk away having already stored my bedspread and sleeping bag, I don't take care of the trash of my meal because is completely biodegradable and will disappear in a couple of weeks, as I pass along the river I take a quick pause to get the gas mask off my face knowing the air is good to breathe, clean my face and rinse my mouth basic hygiene you may say.

Ten minutes walking and there are only woods and more woods, at least the weather is nice, I can even hear the birds sing, should I play another song? one can only appreciate nature so much before getting fed up with it, honestly, I was expecting to see more like animals or well something more than birds and plants, this is getting too boring too quick, it must sound weird to be all alone talking to myself about completely random things, rambling over nonsense, I ain't going crazy ain't I? Did I lose the few screws that held up my mind…? Nah I'm just bored as hell.

As I stroll along the repetitive landscape I hear something weird over the distance, it sounds strangely familiar. Is it music? Are there more people in these woods? Are there other humans? Did more people survive this whole kerfuffle? My curiosity started to drag me towards the sound; it was tempting me to rush towards it. Like a kid the moment you see Babushka or Dedushka or as westerners know it: grandpa and grandma. I kept getting closer and closer, the sound kept getting more vivid and detailed as well, but something was off, as it did not sound like anything I had heard before, it wasn't Russian or English or Spanish, all I could tell it was some strange nonsensical mess of a language made out of gibberish at the same time it followed a very generic pop archetype, the kind of music Korean and Japanese people would hear, but if there was something I knew for sure THAT WAS NOT JAPANESE OR KOREAN, and I am willing to bet my life that whatever might be hearing that music is not part of those countries, but my mind was already dead set on discovering the nature of the individuals or in the worst-case scenario… creatures that were hearing those songs.

What the hell with that music? I should not approach it is common sense after all not to get anywhere close to weird sounds and places, unless you have something to defend yourself in case of need, like a gun! And I have a lot of those, I made up my mind I'm definitely going to look at the commotion over there, after all, is more interesting than be strolling like little red riding hood across the forest but that doesn't mean that I'm going to allow myself to just bust in like a guy coming late to a party, after all, I don't know the nature of the… individuals that are playing that music.

With time the tree line starts to fade away, becoming thinner. I get a glimpse of whatever is behind the trees, it's a tower!?

This must have been built by someone… Did one of the other vaults already start repopulating? No that couldn't be. I'm supposed to relay the status of the outside world to the mother vault and by thus the other ninety-nine lesser vaults there is no way a human built this… now this is worrying if it wasn't humans who built that structure then who.

I stop, keeping my profile low I get close to the edge of the forest, using the bushes and trees for cover, I realize is not a single tower, is a whole wooden complex of towers, catwalks, corridors, stairways, pergolas, and canopies, they seem to be arranged in such a way that keeps whatever occupants as far from the river as possible, they are covered in some sort of tarps with weird symbols in both vibrant fluorescent green and orange, the structures also seem to be painted in red and white stripes in a tribal fashion, it looks like one of those American style summer camps; there are also pillars all over the place, it seems they have some sort of totem-like sculptures on top of them but they are oddly shaped like a … I don't know if it was some sort of ugly ass squid or weird ass squid, or why it had to be a squid.

Meanwhile in camp triggerfish.

Hey wassup! Welcome back to the national ranked championship where the best turf war players duke it out for glory and money.

My name is Vance spine and in here is my man Steven chum, how's it going, Steve

I'm fine and dandy Vance, this is a beautiful day at the famous camp triggerfish, a classic of the competition, today we are playing splat zones, which means: there is going to be a mess near the center of the map.

You are right Steve it seems we have quite a well fleshed out pair of teams for today,

Well said Vance, on the right side of the map we have the tryhard team composed of a splatling a charger, a slosher, and a brush.

It seems they got real creative about their name Vance.

might as well introduce the other team Steve in the left side we got team noob, and I'm dead serious that is their name and quite accordingly to it they were the worst team last championship but they are having quite the comeback right now they are made of a shooter also a blaster, one roller and at last a charger as well, just to be able to neutralize tryhard team's own.

Well Vance this is going to be an interesting match.

Yes indeed Steve, and for our audience at home, don't change the channel that this is getting started

Meanwhile, on the spectator's bleachers.

You see Marina! I knew a little time out of the studio would do wonders for your stress; one has to rest from being the top singer of Inkopolis.

Stop that pearl! Don't get too cocky, the squid sisters are still great singers and quite popular, they are even our friends… something I never believed I would be that day I saw them sing with DJ Octavio back at Octo canyon.

TCH Marina, stop telling me your back story for cod's sake, you always end up saying it on every opportunity you get to do so, scratched record.

Well that is a good point

Back in the woods

I'm approaching the structures slowly, I see splatters of a colored liquid fall onto the river, the air pump is doing its work quite well as the water reaches my neck at times, but the river flows so slow… is convenient, I have my guns holstered but ready for use, I have also placed several magazines and clips in easy to get places, I find several low height catwalks, two in each side, there is also some low platforms and scaffoldings bellow the wooden building, suddenly I hear something and turn my head is a creature falling from the wooden platforms and exploding after trying to stay afloat, is a creepy and disturbing sight, my heart starts to pump faster than usual, something is not right.

This is going to be a long day.

While I approach the nearest low platform, the water level lowers to my beltline, with some effort, I grab the platform and pull myself onto it, hiding behind a nearby log I get a look at the bleachers: there are a lot of humanoid creatures… I take a chance to attach the PU-1 3.5x scope sliding it into its rail and adjusting the Mosin from riflemen mode to sniper mode by sliding the front sight from left offset to fully centered, is better than using binoculars because I have the gun ready for use this way, I realized the kind of creatures in the bleachers, they seem to be humanoids with a height of around 1.5 meters up to 1.8 meters, surprisingly human for a group of strange creatures, their anatomy is similar to us as well, 5 fingers 4 limbs… their eyes are similar too, the only different thing is the black ring that outlines their eyes, but their most striking characteristic was their hair, if even that counts as hair, is some sort of tentacle-ish kind of appendices glued to their hair… it seems… squids and octopuses? Wait what!? The… let's call it "hair" has some sort of rings in it that resemble the suction cups of cephalopods, wait does that mean squids, octopuses, and cuttlefish populated the earth? There used to be a lot of sea species that had developed intelligence at our level back in the day… that couldn't be. There have been only 12,000 years since we entered the vaults… something must have set up their evolutionary process in overdrive for such a quick advance… I remember reading in a magazine that squids and octopuses have the capacity of directly editing their genome… but I don't think that is enough to get such results so damn fast… I'll call them Xenos because they are alien to this land… even if they never came from another planet.

Meanwhile in the announcer's booth

whoa, another splat from the noob team… it seems the tryhards can't hold the ground due to the intense spam in the direct road, it seems that bringing a heavy splatling and a slosher wasn't the brightest of ideas right now as the noobs are proving to be more versatile as they are exploding the lack of range of the slosher and the lack of short-range mobility of the splatling, it seems that the noob team is pretty much leaving the charger and roller on a supporting role and the tryhards are pretty much overloading them to not be completely whipped off the match Vance.

Well said Steve, it seems they have it hard to get back into the lead.

Meanwhile at the spectator's bleachers.

Come on marina have a drink, get something to eat… REST! This is the first break our manager has given to us in a long time and I'm planning on getting all the juice out of it.

Sorry pearl… is just that I have been worried lately, don't mind me I'm not in the best mood to eat but I still enjoy the match.

Let me guess, worried about the injured agents and their small commotion with some Octarians in one of those weird as fuck domes?

Yeah, but I should not let that screw my day.

Back under the stage.

This is not ok, I must tell mother vault about this before they find us. This is dangerous as hell, let's drop a gear and disappear before those Xenos notice me under this… thing.

At that same moment, I turn my head behind me out of sheer paranoia that someone could be looking at me, to my sheer bad luck one of those Xenos is already behind me. Holding some sort of BIG ASS PAINT ROLLER. The sight takes me with my guard down as I clumsily fall to the river, luckily for me my suit is waterproof and I did not take the rifle out of the waterproof bag, I take a couple of seconds underwater before maniacally trying to get back up and onto the platform again, after doing so I see the giant Xeno with a horror expression on its face and its hand extended as if that creature tried to prevent me from falling into the water he immediately swings its roller and a flurry of whatever strange liquid is dripping hits my body

What the FUCK was that

It hurts as if someone had hit me with a bat, though more evenly distributed across my body. Knowing this is for real I try and get the paint out of my lenses and tear the waterproof cover on the Mosin, the Xeno looks at me with horror, it seems it cannot comprehend that I'm immune to his weaponry.

Take this you asshole.

I quickly level the rifle and take a small breath, pulling the trigger a loud bang can be heard, the rifle kicks like a mule as the Xeno is hit by the bullet, it seems to recoil in pain, without waiting I cycle the bolt again and place another shot dead on its head, it explodes leaving a mess of strange green liquid, is an ugly scene… but this is not over as another of those Xenos holding some sort of long rifle shaped pipe clumsily starts to aim at me as it seems to be shocked by the fact I just killed one of his kind, another quick bolt cycling and a bullet to its head put an end to it but not before it hit my leg with more liquid, it stings and hurts like a bad cramp.

Meanwhile in the announcer's booth

Wait a moment Steve… something is happening near the low platform on team noob's side, someone just splatted the roller and charger users. Wait a minute that is some really weird gear for a turf war player, it seems we got an invader in the field, Steve.

Well said, Vance. I heard they are sending security to stop the invader so we can continue the match; meanwhile, team tryhard is taking a well-deserved break for the almost heroic defense of their only foothold in the splatzone.

At the bleachers.

Hey, they stopped the fucking match, just at the moment it was getting interesting, fuck this at this rate I won't enjoy my day off damn assholes.

Pearl calm down, I'm sure that there must be a valid reason to stop the match.

Might as well be a good one, heads will roll if they just stopped it for some mediocre shit.

Pearl! Stop it; you are being more rude than usual.

Well, I'm in my right to be.

Back under the structure.

Damn more Xenos I must get rid of them quickly.

I quickly detach the sniper scope as I see myself surrounded by 3 xenos, they look to be dressed in the way security officers tend to do, they are holding small batons covered in white liquid and have some sort of square small pistols, I don't give them time to capture me as the location of mother vault is of the upmost importance, I aim at the head of the nearest xeno and pull the trigger, the rifle responds with a loud bang, a 7.62x54mm 7n14 bullet flies at 875 M/S or mach 2.5, it pierces the air creating a loud crack as it instantly makes the xenos head explode in a thousand splatters of white liquid, it's body slowly melts, as I do this I hear a loud commotion, looking around I can see the other security xenos around me look in sheer horror and the group of xenos on the bleachers scream as if someone had just done a terrorist attack as they are trying to get away from the place, I see two groups of xenos rushing towards me, quickly I fire another bullet at the xeno next to the one I just killed and bash with the stock of the rifle the last remaining one while screaming, in hopes it will scare and shock the two group

AAAAAH RAR GARG

It seems to be working as the other two groups hesitate. I look back at the Xeno that I'm currently bashing; it looks disgusting, all deformed and partly melted. Is hard to look at, I use the last bullet to end its misery, as it was shrieking in pain… even if I cannot understand what they say, pain screeches are a universal language, I know my actions are pretty much those of a monster but in my situation, is either me or them; and for me, the choice is a given: ME.

Meanwhile at the narrator's booth

for cod's sake we got a monster in the field, it has splatted several of the security members and just beaten up one till it got splatted too, are we witnessing a new Octarian superweapon In action? Our broadcasting cuts here, cut c cut it out now… alright friend let's dip out before that lunatic gets here.

Better do so Vance, is scaring me.

Back at the field.

I ready the dyakonov grenade launcher, its tripod and range finder are permanently attached to the Mosin Nagant, the only thing I attach is the muzzle piece for the grenades, I ram one and another five-shot stripper clip as both groups of Xenos stop being frightened by me and start to charge towards me, I fire the grenade that flies away after a small thump sound, from the eight Xenos three explode, the other five stand still in shock some of them, two to be precise drop the weapons and run away, I eliminate the other three with another grenade… but suddenly they appear from behind me, I spin my head and realize there is some sort of sewer grid that keeps spawning them, so I aim another grenade and blew it to pieces.

At the bleachers

Holy cod! I think it is the Octarians again

Let's go and stop them marina, stop trying to get backup they are occupied, with that kidnapped witness of theirs, we don't need them after all

WOAH HOLY FUCK, he just blew the respawner into a thousand pieces, let's get the fuck out marina, this guy's for real.

Wait but weren't we going to stop that Octarian?

marina, there is no Squid or Octo weapon that can destroy a respawner, that shit is not one of us or theirs, take a few pictures of it and get the fuck out of here before it notices us.

Alright *takes a couple of photos and a quick video before leaving with the rest of the spectators*

Back in the field.

That evens the odds.

after destroying that sewer grid thing I make my way running back into the platform I was beforegetting attacked, I jump off of it and into the river, walking the 2 meters to the nearest shore, once there I start to run away towards the woods so I can hide and collect information later, as I run across the complex I can see tents around me, they seemed to have been left recently, there is food still freshly made and steaming hot, far away I can see a crowd of xenos evacuating the place, or at least it seems to be the case here, there seems to be mobile bathrooms and other typical paraphernalia you would find in any sports event or music concert, is extremely unsettling scene all I can see footsteps and along dropped belongings like bags and toys across the sand, dirt and mud, I can hear small xenos crying, something too familiar to little kids crying for their moms, this situation seems like a bad fever dream, it doesn't feel glorious or even something that had to be done, it feels cheap, dirty and like something a coward would do. But is not the time nor the place to let morals be a burden, is me or them and the answer is and will always be ME, I keep on running along the maze of structures till I see an opening that leads to a thin corridor that leads into the forest, I press my luck by blindly rushing in, as I run away from the danger zone I notice the layout of my surroundings change as I keep on running, it seems that I went from the main area to some sort of cabin area, as I can see Xenos trying to hide inside of them.

Might as well do the same.

I get off the main road and start to use the bushes and trees as cover while trying to get as far away as I can from the danger zone, as it is obvious the xenos will send something to investigate the area and search me, I keep on walking seeing more and more cabins, suddenly I find one, it seems derelict and deep hidden in an unkempt area of the woods, very much concealed from view, I approach it as it makes for a damn good hiding place till the coast clears, once there I look around for chokeholds, scapeways and pretty much forms of defense, but I hope they will go pass this cabin, getting inside of it I can notice that there is some furniture and loose wooden planks, as well as hammers and nails, it seems this cabin was in renovation before, Is unknown why would those xenos halt the renovation, but what is garbage to a man for another is a treasure , I grab whatever is of use and start to cover the windows blocking the front door with the biggest piece of furniture that I can find, a bed frame on purpose left gaps on the windows to shoot outside also leaving the back door free for a quick escape; I lay down setting my backpack aside for the moment

Dammit what a day, it seems I won't be able to leave this place for a while

Better contact mother vault, they must know about this whole "situation"

I grab the PDA out of my backpack and use it to voice call the mother vault

Meanwhile back at mother vault

MISTER OVERSEER!

WHAT! CAN'T YOU SEE IS 1:00 PM AND I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF MY BATH!

IS THE SCOUT WE SEND, IS CALLING BACK.

Ow! That guy, turn the chat on but keep the camera off, I don't want him to see that I bathe with a rubber duck.

HEY how are you dude, how is the scouting going, boring right

THERE IS AN ENTIRE FUCKING CIVILIZATION OUT HERE SHITHEAD, THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN WITH "BORING" THIS WAS NOT ON THE PLAN YOU DIPSHIT

Wait what! … Are you serious?

Hell I am. There is another civilization, they look to seem to be some sort of humanoid squids and octopuses, they seem to have language and pretty much be like us before the flooding.

dear god… this changes everything, now stop scouting, we will change your mission, get back here and pick up the new gear we are going to give you, once you do that your mission will be to sneak into their closes settlement and collect as much information about their society, culture and military prowess, also you will capture a specimen so we can know it's anatomy, is there anyone searching you.

Well, I killed several of them and destroyed a sewer grid type thing that created more, or did it bring them back to life I'm not sure.

this makes It harder for you, alright stay there and don't move, wait till the night falls so you can get out of your hiding place, kill anything that looks like one of those "Xenos" I don't want witnesses

Alright, but why that voice for Xenos, Xeno means stranger

Because it reminds me of war hammer 40k you dimwit

Shut the fuck up

You too friend, goodbye.

He is annoying as fuck… but he seems to be a good guy I should give him more of a chance, after all he is the new guy.

Knowing that this would be a hard evening, I lay on the walls of the cabin, waiting for the storm to pass.

I hope they don't find me; this is going to be a whole mess of Xeno… I will call it "blood" now thinking about the mother vault, I hope they give me more of a combat-oriented kit next time. Is hard to use what is pretty much a sniper rifle at point-blank range better take a rest while I can.

hey wassup, fellas, is me t55-flyer I know I know. it took me quite a while to write the second chapter, but look on the bright side is more than double the length of the first one, and I am not a native English speaker so it took me like 6 days to write the chapter and 3 to polish any errors in grammar and lexicon, and those are not accurate measures... I don't remember how many days it took me to write this, so 6 is the plain minimum.

Now as always: leave your comments, give feedback, tell me how can I improve this, or share with me any ideas you have for this thing that I might add here. and well, I'm going to take a small rest for creative purposes but stay tuned, there is more chapters in the future
