Once again, I must sadly announce that...
Drumroll, please!
I do not own Kung Fu Panda!

Po was sat on his bed, looking down at a paper held in his paws. It wasn't just any paper, now. No... this one was different. It had a special place in Po's heart. It was a drawn picture had captured a moment that neither he or Tigress would ever forget. A life changing event, in fact. And though the picture wasn't necessary in order to keep the memory fresh, it was still a constant reminder. That picture brought back every miniscule detail of that day.
Po readjusted one of his paws, trying to straighten out the paper a bit more. The picture showed both Po and Tigress, with her leaning against him, her back arched, forming into the shape of his stomach. They fit together perfectly and had accomplished as to forfeiting any gaps that would have been between them. Each of their paws were locked together tightly, Tigress slightly reaching her arms back towards Po. Her chin was raised and had her head tilted just enough so she could look at him with a warm smile. But, for Po, his head was angled downwards at her with a vibrant grin plastered on his face.
And even with her back arched, the small slope in her stomach was still visible. Definitely not big or entirely rounded, but it was there. Po sighed contently, letting his thumb drift over to Tigress' lower abdomen, caressing the little bump. He continued to gaze the picture, ever so slightly bringing it closer to further admire the true beauty of it.
"Put that away." came a bold voice.
"Ahh! What the-!" Po shouted, nearly jumping out of his fur.
Po looked around his room in a rush, trying to find a place to hide the picture. Not being able to think of anything else, he stuffed it under his pillow. When Po turned back to the entrance of his room, he saw Tigress glaring back at him. He nervously smiled at her at scratched the back of his neck, hoping to lighten the mood. Much to his dismay, she brushed off his rather poor attempt and continued looking at him impatiently.
"Tigress... When, w-when did you get here?" Po stammered.
Completely ignoring his question, Tigress walked further into his room, not daring to break eye contact with him. She stepped directly in front of Po, tail swishing wildly behind her. Tigress reached her arm out towards the pillow, having her paw face upwards.
"Give it."
Po looked at her, eyes full of worry and fear. He looked at the picture under the pillow, then back to Tigress and shook his head. Her expression hardened as she leaned over him and tried to snag the paper herself. Po grabbed her arm with both paws, making her come to a freeze. In this position, they were face to face, and in addition, holding a stare over one another.
Tigress pulled her caught arm downwards, taking Po with. He fell off the bed and faceplanted into the floor. Tigress finally took her chance to confiscate the paper and headed for the door. As Po recovered from his fall, he noticed how she didn't even look back at him after taking the paper. He quickly got to his feet and chased after her, stumbling a bit.
"Tigress, wait!" Po called. "Give it back!"
She continued walking, ignoring him. His footsteps boomed behind her, key to knowing that he was running. When close enough, he grabbed her shoulder with a paw, but she elbowed him in the ribs. Po yelped and doubled over in pain. Realization rushing over, Tigress slowed her walking, coming to a halt. She held the picture out in front of her, just staring at it.
"It's lovely." Tigress said softly.
"No." Po shook his head. "It's more than that. It's... It's bodaciously-awesome-lovely!"
Tigress ever so slightly felt herself smile at the memory. However, it was short-lived, and her smile faded just as fast as it had appeared. Her thoughts had drifted to the night of the... the...
...The event that had happened only a matter of days after their picture had been taken.
The evening it had happened, she could barely get herself to move. It wasn't that she was in severe physical pain, but, more the fact of how she felt like such a failure to everyone. Not only did she fail herself, but she had failed Po, and their...
"Hey, Tigress?" a quiet knock came from her door. "You're not alone in this. We've been by each other's sides for as long as I can remember, and I plan to keep it that way, okay?" his voice was shaking.
"If you want, you can sleep in my room with me... like you almost always do." He said. "I just wanted to make sure you didn't forget or anything, since, ya know... you're in there all by yourself."
Tigress let the picture fall back to her side, still loosely gripped in her paw. She looked down at her stomach, disappointed as to not seeing the little bump that had once been there. Her paw gently rubbed over the spot...
...where her baby should be...
"I still can't believe it!" Po's voice rang out.
He bent over, eye level with Tigress' stomach. He softly stroked his fingers across the barely visible baby bump and kissed it, making Tigress laugh lightly at the sweet sight. She rested her paw on her torso, cupping her 'almost beginning to round' baby belly.
Tigress removed her paw from her flat stomach, ears flattening, and expression dropping. Po made his way over to her, one paw still clutching his aching ribcage. He stopped about an arms length away, and stopped to take in deep breath, preparing to speak.
"Tigress... Sometimes, you need to just take a second to pull yourself back together. We have every right to be grieving right now." He said, slightly flailing his arms around.
When no response came, Po became confused. He could only assume that she was upset with him and was about to disagree. But, Po became concerned when he heard a small sniffle coming from her direction. Tigress was still yet to turn around, though now, she was reluctant to do so because of her watering eyes. Po came up behind her, laying an arm around her back.
"I don't like it." she whispered.
Oh my gosh. I nearly cried while writing this. ;(
But anyways, hope I didn't make you too sad.
