Chapter 3
Club troubles
Yuuta P.O.V
Surprisingly, life has been going quite well for me. Besides the whole, unknown guy vanishing out of thin air, and after he vanishes, no one(minus the magical people I know) knows he existed.
Over a good, month at school, that's when the mold of social status sets in. Around then, everyone grasps who they want to be interesting with, and how they work within friends groups.
For example, Isshiki and I are a sold duo. Rikka is my current guide for the mysterious magical world. And I have a decent standing with Nibutani, but will not be asking her out any time soon. My mind refuses to throw me a bone when I try to think about how that will go.
Speaking of Rikka, she had a small habit of vanishing after school but showing back up just in time to have lunch with my family. As a result, Yumeha slowly started to continue her progress with her magic skills.
Overall very good, but one day clubs became a large topic of discussion.
"Hey, Yuuta, what club do you think you're going to join?" Isshiki asked me in the hall.
"Clubs?" I asked. "Huh, I haven't given it much thought. Is there a club you think I should join?"
"Not in particular," He replied shaking his head, with a grin slowly growing on his face. "I wanted to ask you because I've already picked mine. This year, your man is going to be in the music club!"
Briefly, his enthusiasm reminded me of a certain girl with an eye patch, however, I shook those thoughts out of my head. Comparing them is like comparing a classic to a children's book that no one even knows the title of besides in older areas of Germany. Not a fair comparison.
"I never realized that you were that into music"
"Of course not! No one in his right mind would join the music club for just the music," He crossed his arms once he finished.
"Please educate me more," I said blandly
"For the boost in popularity! Think about it, all of the most popular and hottest guys have guitars of some kind! Soon I'll be walking around school with a guitar in one hand and a girl in the other"
I felt my eyebrow raise. "I thought girls were into confident guys"
"Maybe we just have a different taste," Isshiki said with a shrug.
As silly as his reasoning is, he has a point. Maybe I should try and find a club Nibutain would find attractive.
Quite abruptly, the sound of pounding footsteps rang out through the hallway. I looked over and found Rikka running towards us like a ninja.
"Oh, hey Takanashi-" Isshiki started, but was cut off once Rikka quickly landed a roundhouse to his face, which she followed up with a backhand to his forehead and threw him to the floor with a loud thump.
"What the..." I stammered trying to process what I saw. "Why did you do that?"
"My apologies, once he started talking, I didn't know what to do" Rikka stated
"You- You can't just- do you see why people avoid you now?!" I sputtered.
Riika ignored me, grabbed my unconscious friend by the shoulders, and tossed him down to the other end of the hallway. "I've figured out the next course of action in our quest to destroy the invisible boundary lines!"
"Our quest?" I asked.
"Indeed, this benefits you as well," She explained. "I'm going to establish a base of operations on the school campus, under the guise of an afterschool club."
"...Excuse me?" I blinked. There is no way, among the sea of black and white on this page, that she said what I think she just said. A club...on this...hobby?
"I am making a secret base at school disguised as a club," She said slowly as she pulled out a sheet of paper. "This is the paperwork. Just sign your name here and you shall henceforth be known as the Vice President of the Far East Magical Society."
I glanced up and down at her. In the few weeks I've known this girl, I had a good grasp of how she is. Which was always serious but not always honest.
"I would have figured with your eye, you would see the problem with that"
"Hmm?" Rikka asked before seemingly concentrating on her eye. "Ah-ha! Of course! I should have figured this out sooner!"
"Oh good, so I don't have to say-"
"Vice president doesn't sound cool in the slightest! In this predicament, I shall bestow you with the rank of Major Commander while I bestow the rank of general unto myself!"
I bite back the itching impulse to land a good magic attack on her. "No, you idiot! We cant make a club without members! Unless there happens to be at least three other Nemah or Exalts on school grounds, but I doubt we could find any."
"You misunderstand. We do not require a full Nemah or Exalt. We need only a human who has awakened at least a small part of their magical potential, or even one with a strong enough imagination"
"Imagination?" I asked. "Does that mean this is just pretend after all?"
"Not even slightly. This is extremely important Dark Flame"
"Don't call me that in public!"
"Imagination is where magic comes from. Those with a strong ability to conjure spells in their mind may conjure spells in our plane of existence. That is the reason young children are the most likely to use magic at an early age and are soon after Chuunirized."
"Seriously? So that's why Yumeha can magic so well"
"Now let us begin the search for members!"
.
"When you said search, I'll grudgingly admit I expected something else"
Currently, we were sitting at a stand in the middle of the school courtyard underneath a sign that said "Saving Society from the Dark Organization: Join the Far-east Magical Society," which Rikka had made herself
The most unsurprising thing about this is that everyone tried not to laugh and also avoided them like the plague.
As we were waiting, Rikka turned to me. "So, how is it rejoining the Nemah?"
"Excuse me?"
"I was born and raised as A Nemah, learning Magic at the same time as other mundane subjects, being instructed on my duty as the holder of the Wicked Eye, and fighting to protect the people I care most about. How are you doing?"
"Well...I don't think it's all that different," I said, thinking back a little. "Sure, the battle with your sister scared the crap out of me, but so far, nothing else can really be considered a problem. I enjoy all the perks, like being almost anywhere in a few seconds flat. But...is it normal to see...weird things without the Invisible Boundary Lines?"
"It's not uncommon for magical creatures to integrate themselves into society or for humans to gain limited magical abilities without learning the truth about themselves by coming into contact with such creatures. Why do you ask?"
"Well, I was walking home the other day..."
As I was walking suddenly the sky turned black. Standing above several buildings that weren't there before was some kind of large humanoid parrot. It launched some kind of attack and suddenly I noticed a large Orange and blue T rex wearing a skull with a large horn on it, in the rubble like it was covering something. The rex then seemingly moved its mouth a little as if it was making noses to something, then got up to face the parrot thing.
Much to my surprise, the Parrot tried to take off and the T rex yelled "Nova Flame!" causing what I assume to be blue fire to shoot out of its mouth, destroying one of the parrot's wings.
The two kaiju-like creatures then charged at each other, meeting in the middle and using their arms to try and grapple each other.
It seems the rex wasn't as physically strong as the parrot and was knocked back, grabbed by the neck, and thrown down.
As the Parrot tried to finish the rex with a simple claw, the rex quickly grabbed the hand and tried to regain its previous standing but took a nasty punch straight to the face with the one free hand the bird hand. The hit sent the rex reeling onto the ground with no quick way to get up, and the bird's head seemed to spark a little before sending off a large bolt of electricity down onto the poor rex.
As the rex hit the ground, unable to fight, the bird slowly advanced on it, charging another bolt attack.
It paused moving for a slight second and an ear-piercing whistle noise rang out, almost as loud as the previous attacks from the two monsters.
The rex jolted awake and quickly charged up another Nova Flame, blasting the bird and all my vision was blinded with a bright blueish white light, but when it cleared there was nothing there.
"Oh, that? You were most likely viewing a dimensional overlap, it happens sometimes when events of extreme importance happen. I believe you were viewing a dimension that several children were tasked with saving 2 different worlds that are very much intertwined. Most likely, something equal to that event happened here, therefore, we got to see what their event was"
"No way, that's crazy!" I exclaimed. "What else is going on around here?!"
"Several things, I don't know several either. But never go into the room behind the paintings of the first-floor art room."
"We have more than one art room?"
"Never go there. Some fool left an open portal that leads to an exorcist school in Tokyo. Rumors have it a legitimate son of Satan is in the area. It's far from safe"
"Well, that sounds like one of those interesting school rumors that everyone talks about but never actually has the guts to do something," I said, thinking about how crazy that sounded. Son of Satan? Does that mean God is real and just doesn't get in the way of gods from other places?
"Well, what about them?" I asked pointing to a group of kids crowding a table, all with some kind of brown cards and one of them gave off this strange aura.
"That..." Rikka glanced at them. "That has to do with an ancient form of magic that runs deeper than our origins. Best not to get involved" she quickly turned away as the kid with the strange aura suddenly grew taller after his necklace glowed.
"Oh hi, there you two!"
"Huh?"
Right next to us was our old friend Kumin had her own stand, with an equally small sign that said "Napping Club! Refresh and recharge your mind, body, and spirit!"
"A napping club?" I asked.
"Yep! Do you like napping? It's very good for you, especially if you have a tight schedule!" She said, once again using a cute voice and an equally cute smile. Why is she so endearing?
"I- I do take a nap now and then but it's not something I'd consider a hobby" I tried to remain nice as possible.
"Eh, everyone always says that/ I tried to make this club last year as well, but nobody signed up. Maybe your friend would like to join!" She exclaimed with bright eyes.
I mean...Based on what I've seen, he doesn't seem like the type to...nap. Or enjoy anything.
She once again clapped her hands together, producing that glow, but when she placed them on the ground, nothing happened.
"Ah, pooey." She said.
"I still don't quite get why it worked the first time, but not anymore" I scratched my head as I thought out loud.
"It is quite possibly one of three options happened. 1. He is no longer in our plane, such as in a parallel universe or possibly deceased. 2. Kumin doesn't have a large enough 'need' for him to appear"
"What is the last one?" I asked when she paused.
"Something is preventing him, such as canceling the ritual summoning him, or simply pulling him back, stopping him from showing up," Rikka said with a worried look crossing over her face.
"What could stop something like this?"
"A curse, someone with a great deal of knowledge of spells, or possibly, him being Chuunirized"
Judging from my mess of memories, I've figured out one thing. This guy is an enigma, if you are confused about what the hell he's doing, I'm just as confused.
"I think he once mentioned a curse to me," I said
"Well because your friend isn't here to explain what's going on, I'll just go to sleep," Kumin said as she pulled out a rather comfortable-looking pillow.
"You brought your own pillow?" Rikka asked, rhetorically of course.
"Wow, you must really enjoy naps!"
"Yep, napping is how I maintain a sweet and relaxed demeanor so I can wear a smile for everyone around me," She said as she placed her head against the green pillow/ "Today, I will have dreams of green rolling hills in the lovely sunshine."
Once she finished speaking, she quickly dozed off, and the look of pure satisfaction on her face could stop an angry hoard.
Suddenly, Rikkas eyes went wide. "Yuuta, it's time for a tactical compromise"
"What?"
Rikka quickly cut and stuck our two banners together, now the sign above us read "Rest yourself and then save the world with the Far East Magical Napping Society!"
"Oh, kami..." I said as I glanced at Kumin who was still sleeping.
She muttered something about green.
"Is she lucid dreaming?" I asked
"I've always wanted to do that" Rikka said. "Maybe I'll have her teach me later"
.
About half an hour and the only change in our number of members is how embarrassed one was.
"Combining our clubs just made us 10 times weirder" I muttered. "Could we use our magic to pull in some new people?"
"Unfountally, we cannot. The Invisible Boundary Lines prevents all forms of magic we may try on humans." Rikka explained, who had also run out of steam as her face was now resting against the desk.
Kumin started to mumble something, which caused Rikka to promptly cover her mouth with her hand.
"Such a high Magic Reading is somewhat concerning" Rikka muttered. "Alas, I have come up with a possible solution to our problem. All the Wicked Lords are famous, not just for their magic but also their spectacular showmanship. Maybe if I showcase some of my skills, I could draw in members"
"I don't think that's a good-" My voice was ignored as Rikka stood on our stand and made a pose from another manga that I most definitely read before.
I chuckled a little as I watched her start dancing, kinda complicated but also not much more difficult than a dance routine you could learn from TV.
Sadly, the only sound we could hear was Rikka making noises signifying she was straining herself due to the lack of music, which hampered the effectiveness of the dance.
Speaking of sound, the sound of Rikka on the desk woke up Kumin.
Kumin let out a small cute yawn as she looked around looking a little confused. "Oh, is this the dream where I'm in a street performance?"
"Not at all, this is reality," I said
"All dream people would say that." She said with a giggle. "I guess I'll join her"
Kumin proceeded to stand up on her desk and do a drastically different dance than Rikka.
Needless to say, it wasn't a good show anymore, unless you like comedies then this would be a favorite show for a long time.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any funnier, Rikka started to sing. You heard me, sing.
To put it nicely, Rikka was far from a professional singer. Very far. No amount of magic or skill could ever hide that.
I quickly learned how to use Zetsu(From HxH just so we are clear) as I tried to hide in plain sight by the two 'idols'.
Now the strange kid with cards seemed like a much better club to join. Maybe the exorcist school will take me.
"Togashi-san?"
I yelped, canceling out my stopped aura flow as Nibutani walked up to the stand for the club-that-shall-not-be-named.
Oh no! That's not good! Why now?!
Nibutani sudden speaking caused the two performers to lose focus and fall to the ground with a loud thump.
"Hey, Nibutani" I smiled and tried to hide the two on the ground. Key word tried.
"The Far East Magical Napping Club?" She tapped her chin a little while reading the sign. "Is this some kind of Lucid-dreaming-related club?"
"Wrong!" Rikka exclaimed, her voice stern. "This club's sole purpose is to bring together an all-powerful group of magic-users to defeat the Dark Organization and bring our world back to the way it should truly be. With plenty of naps on the way!"
"Napping is amazing and a health befitting way to spend your time!" Kumin exclaimed, giving everyone a blinding smile.
"I see..." Nibutani said. "So, Yuuta, what are you doing here? Are you doing occult stuff? If you are, I used to really be-"
"What?! No!" I said frantically, cutting her off but more worried about what I could use to explain this. "I'm just- helping Rikka here with her club! Because we're friends! She is just really into all this magic stuff!"
"So that's how it is," Nibutani said with a shrug. Her tone indicated that she was close to figuring me out, but not quite there yet.
"You two seem to be great friends! Well, I wish you both the best of luck!"
As she left I released a breath I didn't realize I was holding in. I almost had to bite a poison-covered bullet.
Oh god, that was too close.
I turned over to Rikka and noticed her staring into my soul with the intensity she would use in a complicated spell.
"Something wrong?" I asked
"Do-" She hesitated briefly. "Do you really consider us friends?"
"What?" I asked as I recalled that my exact words were "Because we're friends!" I mean saying "Because she's that girl!" Seemed kinda rude, ignoring that we are all currently doing the same thing to a single person. I crossed my arms with a sigh, "Of course I do, it'd be weird to call you anything else since you drag me into so many magical antics"
"Thanks, that means a lot to me-" Rikka started as she realized she wasn't speaking Chuuni, she quickly back-peddled. "A-anyway, we are unable to receive the required amount of members through regular means."
Rikka reached into her bag and pulled out a small brown card similar to the ones that kids from earlier were holding, inside its blue outline, was a large box with a picture of a scroll with a blue dragon on it.
"Hey...why do I feel like I've seen that before?" Kumin asked sleepily
"I don't have the faintest clue what you're referring to," Rikka replied sounding almost defensive. "I shall invoke Ancient Magic to summon an ally of mine that I could trust with my life. Let's get this done"
"I activate the spell Ancient Rules to summon Mjolnir Hammer in Attack Mode!" Rikka loudly exclaimed as she held the card as high as she could while it glowed brightly with white light.
The uncanny resemblance hit me like a truck, "Hey isn't that Yu-gi-oh?!"
Ignoring me, the glow died down and the card shattered into pieces while Rikka's phone began to ring. She quickly answered it and had one of the quickest phone calls I've ever heard.
"Hello? Ah, I see. Well, the thing is, I'm going through with plan beta. Uh-huh. I understand. Well, the Far East Magical Society demands- Oh, that's great. Ok, bye" Rikka said, not giving me much of a clue what the heck she was talking about.
When she put her phone away, she looked at me. "She will be here tomorrow"
"What was even the point of that?" I asked motioning to the whole glowing card thing.
"I have been saving my points for a more specific summoning card, due to my lack of sacrificial materials. But it seems I may need to purchase more packs and hope to get lucky"
"I swear that is still Yu-Gi-Oh!" I exclaimed but I was promptly ignored.
.
Next day
.
"Good Morning Big Brother!"
"*yawn* Good morning Yumeha," I said still slightly drowsy, but never the less glad I got to wake up and slam my alarm clock with more force than the hulk. It made me feel like I was going to have a normal day because I got to wake up normally.
Yumeha spoke up once again. "Hey, Big Brother, what would you call being taken and held without wanting to be by another person?"
"I...guess *Yawn* Kidnapping?" I said rubbing the sleep out of my eyes slowly.
"Well, I think I got kidnapped."
My eyes snapped to attention. Please no, why can't I wake up normally for once?! I jolted out of bed and sure enough, there was some girl I don't know just standing in the middle of my room.
She was wearing some kind of school uniform, her pale green eyes boring into me with over-exaggerated glee and her insanely long golden hair put up into pigtails but still managed to reach the floor.
I didn't fail to notice my younger sister in the corner, tied up in said golden hair, and still looking completely clueless.
"Yumeha! Who are you?!" I nearly yelled at the small intruder. In response, she let out a loud mocking laugh.
"It would seem you have exited your deathlike state, Dark Flame Master!" She said as one of her pigtails hit the floor. Now that I'm looking at it, there were something small yet heavy-looking orange things that hung from her hair, like some kind of mace. "Now you shall face the personification of power and death that resides in Dekomori Seane!"
"What are you doing here?!" I said as I conjured a bit of black fire in my palm. "What are you doing with my sister? I'm giving you one warning!"
"Dark Flame Master!" Rikka leaped into my room from the balcony. "Fighting in close quarters like this with magic is advised against!"
"She is deathly right, Dark Flame Master!" Dekomori said. "One wrong move and your younger sister shall meet an untimely demise! If you wish to save her, you must duel me in the OverLap"
"The Overlap?" I asked not sure what the heck she was talking about before Rikka explained.
"The Overlap, it's the place I fought my elder sister three weeks ago. Put simply you meld together several different worlds to create an arena in which no harm can be inflicted upon any plane in existence after the fight."
"Fufufu! If you fail to grasp such a simple topic such as this, Dark Flame Master, then you and your sister shall perish to my hand soon enough!"
"Rikka, how do I make the Overlap?" I asked, half ready to risk it and throttle this girl right where she stands. I have a gun somewhere, I could channel some magic through that and finish this with a quick shot to the head.
"You are required to say an incantation to create it! You must pose as well!" Rikka said with her expression dead serious. "This shall be testing the worth of your training!"
"My sister's life is on the line! I don't have time to be acting like some anime character!"
"Enough with this! Let our battle begin!" Dekomori's hair released Yumeha as the girl took a fighting stance. "Repeat my words exactly if you desire to avoid your upcoming death. Reality is rejected!"
"R-Reality is rejected!" I said as I quickly struck the first pose I could think of.
"Synapses shatter!"
"Synapses shatter!"
"Banishment..."
"From this world!"
The next thing I know the room around us added as if someone was turning down the brightness, and soon enough I was surrounded by open space, unlike the fight Rikka had done, the floor was a light purple color, and I could see stars around in the distance.
I felt a cool breeze hit my face as I stared, trying to take in all the beautiful sights at once. Then I glanced at my opponent, there she stood in a suit of golden armor, almost like a knight.
"Holy fu-" I started when Dekomoris eyes widened.
"So this is the true form of the Dark Flame Master, even on the verge of death!" She stated. "Your body clearly hosts the dark powers of the Nemah, but will your battle skills be as cool as your outfit?"
"I- Uh not sure, to be honest!" I called out to her when I realized something. "What did you mean by-"
I glanced downward, not expecting much, maybe my fly to be down or something, but instead of my old sleepwear, I was clothed head to toe in clothes I thought I had buried in several boxes. A black trenchcoat, and pants that had various leather belts strapped to my body. The whole look was tied together with black fingerless gloves and the inside of my jacket having several red highlights, vaguely like a cape. These were the clothes of the Dark Flame Master.
"In the Overlap, there is no influence from any world's version of reality, so your imagination, the fuel for your magic takes over! The way you view yourself is how you appear here! Take that imagine and form a weapon to fight!" Rikka quickly explained to me, now I noticed she was wearing the same gothic lolita dress she was wearing when we met.
"Enough, let our duel to the death, BEGIN!" As she yelled a magic circle flashed into view, which a large golden hammer ejected out of, covered in what looked to be Nordic symbols engraved all around it.
I'm starting to wish I kept the Termination Breaker sword right about now!
I summon more fire, which was really my only ability currently that could be used in this fight.
"You got this Yuuta! I believe in you!" Rikka shouted her words of encouragement
Something tells me the power of friendship won't help me in this fight. shaking off that thought, I awkwardly gave weak thanks.
"Direct Impact!" Dekomori yelled as she charged at me, she moved so quickly, she almost made it seem like her weapon was weightless.
"Incarnate Wings!" I zipped out of the way and made another magic circle. "Infernal Shotgun!"
The small golden-haired girl gave a movement of surprise when I fired off my spell and when she was hit by the fireballs that hit her, I prepared another spell.
As the smoke cleared, I noticed she didnt seem harmed. In fact, she looked more surprised than anything.
"Are you mad? A normal human would have tried to tank the attack or pull back for a better position to avoid it altogether! But you managed to combine a perfect amount of offense and defense into a single movement!" She exclaimed, her eyes were wide.
As flattering as that was, I really didn't do that much, all I did was dodge and fire a ranged attack.
I drew back, ready to launch another attack when she raised a hand. "Wait! Dark Flame Master, I apologize with deathly sincerity! Please be aware, I am not your enemy nor did I plan to bring you or your sister any harm"
"Huh?" I asked, once I did, the Overlap began to fade, leaving us in my bedroom once again.
"I wished to see the fruits of my masters labor, out of concern you may not be ready for a proper battle quite yet"
"Your master?" I asked and without a word, Rikka jumped into my room.
"Allow me to introduce Dekomori Senae, my every faithful servant, otherwise known as the almighty Mjolnir Hammer," Rikka explained. "Her introduction was my means of testing your battle resolve and reflexes as it is- OUCH!"
"Stop waking me up so weirdly!" I scolded her as I once again grabbed the back of her eyepatch.
"Ow! Please let go! But slow! Very Slow! AH, MY EYE!"
Dekomori slid a bit closer to Rikka. "Are you sure he is befitting of this? His mannerisms is that of a human"
"I understand your claims, Dekomori," Rikka said with a small nod. "I am very aware of the heavy damage he has sustained from the Administration. But both the power of the Dark Flame Master and the Black Flame dragon holds far too much promise to let pass. " She turned to me. "Dekomori and I met back when her powers manifested at a young age. I proceed in helping her hone her capabilities, and now she serves me whenever I summon her. Speaking of which, how are things going in your world?"
"The war is continuing along as fiercely as one of the wars of old, all for the control of Hoover damn. Rest assured I would be here no matter how inconvenient it may be master, but were I not needed her I would be fighting for my home country."
"I see, I offer my deepest apologies, but your presence here is far more valuable than there"
I feel like I'm watching a game of air hockey, but the puck is the chuuni.
"That makes four members," Rika said. "And for the fifth, it seems I must call upon my loyal familiar. Yumeha, if you so please? "
"Of course!" Yumeha cheerfully said and clapped her hands together. "Summon Chimera!"
Instantly, Chimera walked out of a magic circle that popped out of thin air.
"Young Yumeha has mastered the art of summoning magic in the first three dimensions. Most importantly she has managed to block out the 4th one, so no more accidental time travel" Rikka said with a bit of pride in her voice. She picked up her winged cat and spoke once more. "Chimera shall be our last needed member. We could summon her after school to avoid rules and such from preventing her."
"I don't think she could count as a member"
.
"I'm afraid cats don't qualify as a possible member." Miss Nanaste said as Rikka held up her pet- I mean familiar. "Even a cool winged one with a snake for a tail."
"You can see that?" I asked but was once again, ignored.
"I see..." Rikka said
"Perhaps you should try and ask someone else to join?" Ms. Nanaste suggested.
Great we're screwed
We had been here for a few minutes trying to convince her to let us have our club. Clearly, it wasn't in our favor.
"Oh, my Wicked Eye tells me there is a spirit standing over there who wishes to join" Rikka pointed at a spot that looked like thin air.
"Oh yes, I am getting a deathly aura from over there!" Dekomori added trying to be helpful
"Hmm? I guess it is a little colder." Kumin said as she tapped her chin.
"Don't encourage-" I cut myself off when I felt a burst of cold wind coming from the said spot. "I'll shut up for now"
"Sorry, one of the basic requirements is being alive to join," Ms. Nanaste said
"Then...I know! I'll tap into one of my future descendants to join and let them use my body for said purposes! Let me bring my firstborn child up..." She closed her visible eye for a moment before striking a pose.
And pure jibberish flowed out of her mouth.
"Oh my..." Kumin said looking confused. "Erm...Konichiwa?"
"Good God!" I buried my face into my palms.
"Sorry, I don't speak whatever language that was," Ms. Nanaste said. "Also based on what you said, I doubt they are old enough."
After a bit more gibberish, she slapped herself before returning back to normal. "Sorry it would seem that my firstborn son in that world lives in a world where he speaks a different language and there is a lack of magic but heavily believes he owns something called the Black belt and is on the run from the Dark Reunion"
"I'm just surprised you have any kids in the first place," I said
"My wicked eye tells me I shall have two, one is the aforementioned boy and a girl who possesses explosion magic." Rikka shook her head. "So that was a failure but! Now I shall summon a powerful servant to be our last member!"
With no hesitation, Rikka pulled out a piece of chalk and drew a magic circle on the ground and this time pulled out a small golden key.
"Hey isn't that-"
The key glowed a little before a poof of smoke emanated from the spot it once was, revealing a girl around our age, but lacking height.
Her hair was black and nearly just as long as Dekomori. She stood in a mainly grey uniform with golden buttons and a dark green skirt. At first, she started speaking what seemed to be Japanese, and once I complained about how Rikka couldn't summon anyone that spoke English, the girl cleared her throat.
"Sorry didnt realize this was dub," She said as she rubbed her arm awkwardly. "Yo, I'm Akari."
Completely baffled that this kinda cute girl broke into English, I forgot to say anything about the key that seemed similar to something from fairy tail.
"Uh hello Akari!" Kumin said excitedly. "Uh...Konichiwa?"
"Well hello Akari!" Ms. Nanaste said. "Where did you come to us from?"
"Wait, your buying this?"
"Uh well, I was born in America but moved to Japan when I turned three, I wanted to develop my quirk so I started attending a hero school, I go to U.A"
"Quirk?" I asked
"Ah..." Ms. Nanaste said, seemingly unfazed that this girl started speaking utter nonsense. "What do you think of Rikka?"
"I mean, I don't even know how I got here, to be honest. She seems like a fun chick you know? Someone, I'd spend more time with"
"Really, is that so?" Nanaste said with a giggle. "Rikka what do you think of Akari?"
Rikka blinked. "uh...she's great?"
"I can't let this go on. Let's address the elephant in the room, she is clearly in a different school and likely another world. This-" I motioned to all of us in a whole "Won't last long."
"Yeah, homie I think yall somehow summoned me to the past or something, cuz I remember your face in the newspapers back in that at least 50-year-old video about how not to be a bully or something." She said pointing at me. "You were the bully-victim. Anyway maybe ask one of your normal friends."
"I for one agree," Rikka said and I nearly let out a sigh of relief. "Sorry Akari"
"It's all cool, see ya another time" She waved before vanishing.
"Darn it!" Dekomori said as she whipped out a black book. "Maybe-"
"I know!" Kumin exclaimed suddenly. "I could try and summon that guy from your class again!"
I don't-" I paused. If she could pull it off, we could learn more about this guy and fill in the last needed spot with a magic user. "Go ahead and try it"
She once again repeated the ritual thing she does with the glowing hands and such, this time when she placed her palms to the ground, a poof of smoke happened, but this...was not our classmate. He resembled him kinda, but it was a bad resemblance.
First off, he was taller, his hair was tamer and shorter and his skin was slightly lighter.
"Don't worry Kanade-" He seemed mid-charge at something but paused when he realized he was somewhere new. "Where am I?"
"Your not my classmate," Rikka said rather blandly.
He snorted. "I wish you guys were, those damn NPC's get annoying sometimes"
"NPCs?" I asked.
He answered my question, but avoided looking directly at me, eyes scanning the room. "NPC's back where I'm coming from, that's what people like me call the native people there"
His eyes settled on Dekomori, Rikka, and me. "So, what did you bring me here for? I take it none of you are god"
"Far from it, although I am quite powerful in my own regard, same goes for my servant and the Dark Flame Master" Rikka replied, subtly placing a hand on her umbrella.
I noticed his body started to spark with electricity. "Oh, that sounds fun, although I need to get back now, so if you don't want to feel a little pain, I kindly suggest you send me back to hell"
"First things first!" Ms. Nanste cut in, unbothered by the clear display that this boy is ready for violence. "What is your name?"
"Inei Kanashii" He responded, never taking his eyes off of us.
"Kanashii?" I asked, remembering that Nibutani called the mystery man that once.
"Well my real name is something different but that's what I go by now"
"So Mr. Kanashii, how would you like to join a club with these people," Ms. Nanste asked motioning to us.
"Sorry, kinda swore off clubs because of a personal reason back in what I'm just going to call hell." He said casually, taking his eyes off Dekomori for one second, instantly, she lunged to attack him but he fluidly dodged and from his back a blast of electricity shot out, nailing her in the stomach, sending her flying into the opposite wall.
His offensive demeanor dropped completely and he stood casually. "Sorry, if I could help you without going against my moral code, I would. I break that enough in my life, death ain't gonna be the same"
"Well, I'm sure you are a man of your convictions. However, even if you wished to join you also seem to be from another world and some form of the dead based on what your word choice is." Ms. Nanaste said, far too casual for my liking. Do you think she does this often?
He nodded and slowly vanished. "See you guys another time, the afterlife is something I need a break from now and then."
Dekomori quickly rushed back with a large black book that had colorful stickers on it, spelled out "Mabinogion". "According to this passage, the following spell can summon the last mage on earth when read aloud! Ahem"
She took a step back and started reading with more melodrama than needed. "If thy world is infected by hate, only the restoration of life may cure it! If thy world is full of death, only love shall purify it! The balance of nature and mankind need not be a series of firm glances and handshakes but a harmonious melody of intimate exchanges that shall ascend our world to a greater state. If only man may understand the greater good. And what is the greater good the humanity is so labored to grasp? Whi, itself! A human is not a lump of flesh that exists and lives it is the result of two humans finding love and joining a beautiful courtship that creates all of the beauty in life that which faires may thrive upon. But man thinks otherwise-"
"ARGGH!" Suddenly the door to the lounge slammed open, causing all of us to jolt, and confusion to flood our faces as we saw who was the perpetrator.
"Nibutani?!" We all exclaimed
"Who read that? Who has that damned book? I hope I'm clear in what is going to happen-" She fumed as she stormed into the room as Dekomori wisely hid her book.
Ms. Nanste cleared her throat and asked the question we were all wondering. "Miss Shinka? What are you doing here in such a way?"
She paused as if she was resetting the personality of her character. When she finished, she flashed us a cheerful grin and spoke normally. "I'm here to join the Far-East Magical Napping Society!"
"Did I hear that right?" I asked but was once again ignored.
"Well..." Ms. Nanaste said. "That makes five members, so congrats! Your club is official and approved!"
Before anyone could say anything, a green glowing magic circle flared to life above us.
As if someone had pushed him off a cliff, the dark-haired guy fell out, landing face-up, but a nasty crack rang out. That couldn't be good for his spine or head.
He let out a drawn-out groan. "Make that...six"
"Hooray! We even have an extra member!" Everyone cheered besides the guy on the ground and me.
"What is happening right now?" I asked, not expecting anyone to respond
"Complete and utter BS. Please...get me to a hospital or something" The guy on the ground responded before passing out.
Sadly, no one tried to get him to the hospital for the next thirty minutes.
