"I guess you're rather curious about why I gather you here."

"Not much, but thanks for noticing."

Saturday sun which kept shining outside the window showed everyone that it was indeed morning. Late morning. A Group of teenagers spends their time in the apartment which belonged to Tobias. Most sat on the black couch with few white pillows, same with James, in an armchair. The owner of the place, the same person which gathered them, stood in front. His arms were crossed, proudly stood upright in a way showing his confidence over the theme as well as his lack of willingness towards changing his mind. "So, would you explain already, or won't you?" By one of the corners of said couch Sarah was laying almost bored alike.

Tobias rolled his eyes. "I'm almost certainly sure that you already know that."

"Maybe, but the reason for that is sitting just here." While saying her head pointed to a figure sitting by the armchair. "Not my fault he must say me about everything, causing a lack of surprise for me."

"Excuse me?" James exclaimed. "It's not my fault!"

"Come on Hook. You once told me about one of your 'arguments' while it happened at my surprise birthday party, destroying all of that surprise." She snorted. "Only thing that surprises me is how I may think you aren't able to get any stupider, but here I am."

He bends over her. "And you love me for that." He whispered.

"Okay, shut up." Tobias finally exclaimed. "We're not here to hear about your strangely possible and still-lasting relationship."

"Then why were you here?" Barf laid onto the couch, almost sinking onto it.

Unknowingly why the head of the second brother made its way from underneath the table. "Exactly. And why you're not hiding any money underneath the couch." He sighed and laid his face first onto the carpet. "I was sure there would be some." He spoke between the carpet floor, making the sound blurry.

"That's a great question." He turned towards the blond girl. "Why they are here? Because I understand why Martha is here-" Without any movement of the head he pointed with his palm at the shorter ginger-haired girl, which by that smiled nervously. "- again, I'm certain sure they would be useless in that theme."

"I don't know how-" Sarah sighed. "but first of all they are your friends."

"Friends? I would likely prefer to say parasites."

Belch raised higher his head from the carpet. "Aw~ you're treating us as part of your life!"

"You're part of my life only because of the red-haired idiot who for an unknown reason still keeps you close."

James smiled mocking alike. "That red-haired idiot keeps them close just to see how they annoy you." Tobias raised a brow at him.

"Besides-" Sarah pointed at them that way everyone looked over them. Belch tried to stand, but painfully impacted into the table. Barf roared in laughter, because of which with his foot Belch punched Barf's leg underneath the table causing his lack of balance leading towards him ending on the ground as well. "-comedy."

Tobias glanced over at her, not much impressed. "I think it's not time for comedy." He exhaled. "Since we all gathered, there is something I wanted to share with you."

"What the fuck!" Belch interrupted him while taking a slip from the black cup, immediately regretting it. "Black tee, who the fuck drinks black tee!"

Tobias smirked and walked towards him. "Me." He snatched it from his hold. "Next time don't take something that's not belonging to you." Putting it into its old position he walked toward the center of the room yet again. "What was I saying?"

"What is the issue exactly?" Martha sat upright, staring at him alike.

"Issue, right." Toothless breathed loudly. "A few days ago, as you probably noticed, I was rather let's say moody."

Barf confused. "Moody? Did I miss something?"

"Isn't yours typical? We didn't notice any change." Both brothers chuckled at which Tobias made them a cold glare.

"Very funny." Tobias turned to rest. "For those who have a brain, all of that was caused by a situation that happened to me some time ago."

Sarah smirked. "You mean finding abounded child onto streets?"

"There is nothing I actually can hide from you, is there?"

"Again, fault of red-haired."

"Wait. Abounded child? Mind explaining that?" Martha almost stood up surprised. Her eyes were now wide alike, but she wasn't the only one caring for an explanation.

Everyone around likely stood silent, even twins surprisingly. Tobias glanced over the floor and scratched his head. "Abounded child, onto streets, in rain, storm exactly."

Martha saddened. "That's terrible! What did you do?"

Barf's eyes widened. "He killed it!"

"Tobias stop doing Anakin's references! Know your limits!" Belch placed a palm over the chest, likely scared now for himself.

"I didn't kill it! W-what stupid ideas these are!" He almost yelled it, everyone looked at him astonished. Tobias was always likely hiding his emotions, because of which that outrage was rather strange for them. Afterward everyone, including the twins, listened to him carefully. "I found him on the streets. Done everything which anyone would, call an ambulance, taking care of him, nothing beyond it." He covered his eyes. "I never saw such a view in my life, and I feel terrible with the knowledge that this boy, abounded by his parents, left of his own is about to become an orphan."

"That's why you want to adopt it." Sarah smiled at him and everyone glanced over at her.

Toothless noticing she wasn't against the idea nodded thankfully. "Exactly." Before anyone could add something, he rapidly added. "I wanted to search for his family at first, it isn't that I didn't, but then nobody was willing into adoption, which broke my heart." For a second he kept staring at the twins, waiting for any of those idiots' comments, but there weren't any. He sighed. "I know probably everyone here thinks I shouldn't do that, but-"

"Nobody here is saying something like that." Martha confidently glanced over at him, both looked straight at one another. "Do you care for that child?"

"His name is Henry." He shook his head. "Hiccup exactly, and I do."

"Do you consider him as your family?"

"Obviously."

"Are you aware you would have to change your daily behavior because of it?"

"I already did. I slept today for 8 hours and ate breakfast."

Everyone immediately almost jumped from surprise. Barf's eyes almost get out of orbit. "Is it possible to learn that power?"

Belch smirked. "Not from a Jedi." Both afterward burst into laughter.

Tobias was annoyed, but before he could ask Sarah did. "What is exactly the reason for that." He glanced at her questioning alike. "I mean, we all know your father's history, I hope you're not doing it only because of him, do you?" She crossed her arms. "Are you doing it for the memory of him, or because of Hiccup?"

Tobias didn't need a moment of thought. "Maybe at first I did, but the truth is I'm doing it for Hiccup. He is really important to me right now." He then focused on them. "Not that you're worse, but-"

"We get that." James smiled. "We're happy he is making you happy." He then straightens. "Besides I will make a great uncle! Best uncle!"

Barf snorted. "You wish."

"Why nobody is talking about the most important!" Everyone glanced afterward at Belch's outburst which now stood up.

"I can't believe I'm saying that." Tobias facepalmed. "What's that?"

"He is Mandalorian."

"I'm what now?"

"Mandalorian. He adopted baby Yoda." Tobias raised his brow, and both giggled. "Straight painted Din Djarin."

"But he was great Anakin as well." Barf smirked with his brother.

"May we come back into reality?" Martha sighed. "How Hiccup looks like?"

"I have a photo of him in my bedroom." Tobias immediately regretted saying that as two skinny figures made their way running toward the said place. He became pale. "Don't even think about it!" He screamed at top of his lungs as he ran after them.

As three of them disappeared, the rest traded their glances. Eventually Toothless with both of them held by him by collar left his bedroom. Both twins were unsatisfied. "Almost." Barf glanced at the ground.

"It's almost impossible to outrun him."

Tobias smirked victoriously. "And remember that."

Martha stood up, wanting to see the said picture which Tobias let her without any problem, getting from both twins' offended glare. After the same thing was done James as well as Sarah. When everyone saw it almost everyone came back to their places, besides Martha who now stood by James's armchair. "I must say that Tobias, Hiccup is cute."

Toothless smiled brightly. "If you saw him in person, you would be surprised he might be even more than that." Glancing around everyone almost didn't believe what they saw.

Belch was close to fainting. "Oh fuck, I think I have hallucinations. I just saw him smiling."

"No it's not that, I saw it too." His brother patted his back.

"It would be great to see him in person." Sarah returned his smile after a mere moment of disbelief.

James raised his chin and laid even more into an armchair. "Well, I saw him in person." He smiled proudly.

Sarah cleared her throat. "It would be nice if my boyfriend took me with him as well."

"For last time Sarah I didn't know there would be a child in here!"

"Still you could just say me about his presence in the hospital! I might come here as well!"

Two of them started arguing about which rest didn't look much amused. Same shit as always. Tobias even took his tee into his hand and started slipping it slowly satisfied with their situation. Glancing next to him both blond boys started smirking. Fuck, not that again. "So~ Tobias~ you're going to become a father." Barf smirked mockingly.

He raised his brow at them, his mouth still by the cup. "I don't know what you're up to, but I already disagree."

Belch snorted. "Don't worry Tobias! We won't do anything wrong! Just know if you need any help with that child of yours we might with pleasure."

Toothless stocked his forehead. "There is no force in this world, by which I would let you even hold him if everything goes good."

Martha joined them and smiled at Tobias. "C'mon Tobias! They aren't that bad! Give them chance."

"Exactly! We're going to be like those funny uncles!" Barf raised his chin. "We're going to get that child entertainment he deserves. Besides by your side, he would get bored in no time!"

Toothless glanced over them from beneath his palm. "Entertainment?"

Both smirked now. "You know, having fun!" Belch whispered. "Like playing with him-"

"With knives."

"Taking him for walking-"

"Through most dangerous alleys."

"Giving him toys-"

"The more dangerous, the more fun they would bring."

Martha's eyes went wide. "Okay, I changed my mind."

"I as well, now I'm not even letting you close to him." Tobias started drinking his tee furiously.

Martha glanced around over everything that was happening around them. Her best friend was always arguing with her boyfriend over issues that she didn't even understand. She imagined even now how flirty they would be later. In front of her, both twins and Tobias stood beside each other. Blondes still kept mocking larger males, now laughing at their stupid jokes. At each of them, still drinking his tee, Toothless kept showing them his middle finger in a way showing them his ignorance towards them. She just stood still, observing the situation which she just shrugged. Their group was the weirdest she had ever seen, but that didn't matter. All of them knew they had one another's back, no matter what. All of them knew that, and because of this all of them loved each other for that. Because that's what friends are for.

A few hours passed now. Their meeting ended with the last analysis of Tobias's situation. They all got to the conclusion Toothless can adopt Hiccup. He had work, which let him same time take care of the said boy. His financial state was just enough for living for both of them. The difference in age between both Hiccup and Toothless was acceptable for adoption. The next thing he had to do now was talk with a psychologist who would consider him as able to foster parent. Afterward, the only thing would be a conversation with a civil servant, and with their permission, his desire might become reality, and he might become a real father to Hiccup. Or brother. He didn't think about it.

The situation now led him towards stress. He walked through streets, worried alike. It was something like 6 p.m already. It wasn't his typical hour of meeting Hiccup, but then Atali's coercion, as well as the begging eyes of his friends forced him into coming to training. The next reasons were ones like the knowledge that Hiccup would be asleep over a typical hour, so he preferred to come a little later so Hiccup would be rested. Besides that, he also just wanted himself go there. He missed those stupid teammates of his, missed that adrenaline while skating.

That training was really hard today. Cloudjumper because of his lack of attendance prepared special revenge for him. His training ended with him being whole red and sweaty, besides that he stepped out from the captain position. It was well known by him that he wasn't the rather best example of a captain. He kept being absent, as well and didn't have the best relationship with the whole group. Said position was passed into the hands of James, which screamed like a girl because of his success. Eventually, when everything finished, he rushed into the hospital direction.

His stress with every step was getting worse and worse. He wasn't exactly sure if he would be even left for seeing Hiccup. Last time Atali get him well to know she didn't want to see him until he made himself better than he was earlier. Tobias himself was pretty sure he did, but still, he wasn't sure if it would be enough. Maybe she wouldn't let him at all now? Dark thoughts started halfway encircle his mind. Luckily, they all disappear as his foot was in said building. As always he informed the receptionist about his presence and walked toward known him room.

Just when he was about to knock, a figure made its way from it. There was Atali, but not exactly herself looking. She was a complete mess. Her hair, which almost every day was in a perfect ponytail was now half tied, half free. Tobias easily noticed little black bangs underneath her eyes. She was breathing loudly, and by the sight of him almost attacked him. "Mister Tobias! You don't even know how happy I am to see you!"

He chuckled nervously. "P-pleasure is mine." He shallowed. "I wanted to ask if I-"

"You can see Hiccup!" After those words, Toothless's lungs get out to exhale in relief. "I'm so sorry I didn't let you that day."

"Why?" His eyes widened. "Something happened? I'm sorry for saying that Atali, but you're looking terrible!"

"It's my fault it happened." She placed her head against the door frame and closed her eyes. As she stood like that Tobias started hearing a few snores getting him to know she fell asleep. He confused, shook her lightly, because of which she jumped. "W-what was I saying?"

"What's going on?"

She sighed. "Hiccup."

"Hiccup? I don't understand. He was always rather well-behaved, kind." He glanced over the doors. "What happened to him."

She crossed her arms. "It all started when I first didn't let you in, because of which I'm sorry by the way."

"It's okay Atali. I went after your offer and changed my behavior."

"I noticed, you're likely much more lively today." Tobias thanked her with a bright smile. "Back to theme, when you didn't come that day, I don't know how Hiccup did that, maybe he just felt the time or so, but at the hour your typical coming he started crying."

Tobias was saddened, and his heart ached. "Crying?"

Atali nodded. "You don't know how hard it was to calm him, and by that, I don't mean I did. The only thing I was able to do then was to wait until he got tired of that and fall asleep."

"What's with him now?"

"Well, I finally was able to get him to sleep-" Just then, from behind doors, a scream got out. She exhaled loudly. "Right, was is the important word here."

"May I?" Toothless with begging eyes alike glanced once over her and once over doors. Atali didn't think twice, she opened wide doors, by which he stepped inside.

Instinctively he rushed towards the known hospital bassinet, and what he saw broke his heart. Furiously alike tiny Hiccup was squirming, his palms were in little fists as well as his mouth was getting out screams that loud Tobias was certainly sure that those were at top of his little lungs. His eyes were now tightly closed, underneath them little tear drops made their way toward the counters of his mouth. Toothless felt blameful. If it wasn't for his behavior he wouldn't get any ban as well as he would be here for him. Tobias was rather sure Hiccup didn't notice his presence as somehow yelling got louder. He finally woke up from thoughts and silently, not a too the scary little one, got closer to him.

"Hey buddy, hey! It's me!" Hiccup afterward lightly opened his eyes, so at the sight of a larger male went wide. Tobias smiled. "It's good to see you Hiccup." His palm was now holding the side of Hiccup's head as he started stroking his forehead. "I'm sorry I left you alone for while, I didn't mean to." The yelling stopped, and now in whole silent Hiccup listened closely to Tobias, likely understanding each of his words. "I swear I'm not going to leave you like that again." Toothless glanced around, seeing that Atali didn't go after him he got closer to Hiccup, his head was now almost touching Hiccups. Immediately the tiny boy's palms made their way toward Tobias's cheeks, holding them. "I promise." Afterward Toothless didn't know why he had done that, or if he could do so, but he placed a little kiss on Hiccup's forehead. When he does so Hiccup gets out a few giggles. Toothless smiled even brighter afterward. He wished he could see such a view every day.

When he pulled himself slightly from Hiccup it didn't make the little boy much happy. Within a moment Hiccup started sobbing, and Toothless immediately got closer. "Hey, hey! I'm still here!" Tobias placed his forehead against Hiccup's, but it didn't make its work how he wished so. Panicked Tobias then did the only thing he had in mind, he pushed his arms inside the hospital bassinet and without permission took the tiny body against his. When he stood up straight Hiccup likely calmed, now little head was placed against the side of his shoulder. Toothless rocked his whole body. "Sh~ Sh~. It's all alright buddy." He whispered into his ear, then placed his cheek against little head. "I'm here, I'm here with you." Even so partly it's made its work Hiccup still kept sobbing, now uncomfortable closing his eyes. Toothless made his worried glare.

"He is tired." Toothless was surprised by the new presence as he always was able to feel someone coming. Hiccup probably distracted him from his surrounding. "He didn't sleep almost the whole night."

"Whole night?!" His sudden outburst cause Hiccup to get distressed. Tobias panicked. "Sh~ sh~!" He placed his arm over his back and embraced him fully. "It's okay! I'm sorry buddy, I'm sorry." He glanced over at the boy, both now looked at each other. "I didn't want to scare you." When Hiccup calmed Tobias made a questioning glare toward Atali.

"That's right." She glanced over at Hiccup. "The nurses which kept night watch called me in the middle of the night, I'm here almost 15 hours now." She yawned. "I didn't get much sleep as you see, but even with my assist we weren't able to calm him." She crossed her arms and sighed. "Because of which it's magical for me to see you calm him in less than 5 minutes."

Tobias chuckled. "If I have to be honest, I don't know how I'm doing it either."

She shook her head. "Liar." Then she just chuckled as well. After a mere moment, she was saddened. "I'm just worried about how he is going to make it in an orphanage since without your assist it won't be much possible for him to get a peaceful sleep."

At first, Tobias stood silent, fighting his thoughts. After a mere moment, when he likely won with them he bit his lip. "Atali, what if he didn't get into the orphanage at all?"

"I'm sorry Tobias, but his days here are lasting, and if there aren't any volunteers-"

"What if there is voluntary?" Atali at first glanced over at him confused but then likely understood it whole as her eyes widen. "I mean-" He sighed, glanced over the tiny body still fighting to not fall asleep. Tobias with his thumb stroked the back of his head. "I thought I..." He bit his lip again and closed his eyes painfully.

"Did you think about adopting him?"

Toothless looked over her and nodded, then turned his sight back at him. "I know I'm not the best, I know I won't give him everything he deserves, I know there would be much of issues at nursery until I graduate, I know all of this." His eyes welled up. "But I hope what I'm offering would be enough." He placed his cheek again against the boy's head.

Atali thought for a moment, but it wasn't too long before she started walking toward them. "Some time ago someone cleaver said to me something same cleaver and important." She stood now by him, likely staring at him. "He needs someone who would love him, no matter what." Toothless glanced over her, his eyes became watery. She placed a reassuring palm over his shoulder. "He explained to me how much a child like him doesn't need any value matters. What he needs, is love, and I'm sure you have plenty of those for him." She smiled. "I just have to ask. Would you be able to love him?"

Toothless glanced over at Hiccup. The little boy was calmly breathing against him, his palms holding onto his hoodie at his chest. His eyes still battled the thought of sleeping. Tobias breathed loudly as he smiled. "No, I won't." Atali at first worried but was surprised when despite her presence, without any doubt Toothless kissed the place he just stroked underneath his thumb. "I love him already."

Her eyes teared, and she smiled at him brightly. "Then, know that I'm all behind you if you need any help."

"Thank you Atali."

She yawned, this time it got larger and louder. "Am I able to leave you with him? I'm really tired and I trust that you're going to take good care of him."

"Of course." Atali took a last look over both of them, then turned and walked forward towards the entrance. "Sleep well." As a reply, she just waved, closing the doors behind her.

He glanced over his charge, which was already asleep on his shoulder. He could never explain what emotions went to him, he couldn't say what happened to him, but at last, he knew one thing, he loved that change. Tobias thought about getting him yet again for the bassinet but decided about staying like that for at least one more moment. "I love you, buddy." He whispered. "And if everything goes alright, I promise you the love you deserve."
