He stood out there frozen for at least a mere moment later now. His phone-holding arm was trembling as well as his whole body. He was shocked he didn't faint at all, likely now just wasn't able to register his surroundings. He couldn't register to shake him, James, he couldn't register sounds around him, even he couldn't register a room he was right now finding himself into. Eventually, when his racing heart slowed down, as well as from phone was getting out only louder and louder sounds, he finally spoke. "I-i am, here. I'm just-." He cleared his throat. "I'm surprised, that's all."

I would say you're more likely excited than that. You seem to me so, at least behind a phone.

"I-i am, probably." His arm was shaken again by James, his sight followed up towards him, just to rapidly walk forward to get out of the hold as well as to ramble through the kitchen. He scratched his head. "W-what now? I m-mean, I'm not much sure what to do."

It's okay, that's why I am here.

Behind the phone, he could hear a few sounds of trashing around papers, at the only hearing of them his heart fastened. It all felt like dream now. Just a few minutes earlier he was thinking through how he would be able to sleep after such a day as it was. Terrible. But, now? Everything felt like dream! Everything kept happening so rapidly, like all of it wasn't even happening!

Okay, ~ the idea is to meet in about half an hour in the city hall. I've got a few papers for you to sign, and a few documents I have to make myself as well, but afterward, you might take him yours home immediately.

His eyes widened. "I-immediately?" He asked as he stocked his forehead now.

Of course, I spoke with Atali and she informed me Hiccup is ready to leave the hospital. She kept him longer in case someone interested in adoption, like you, would occur. So, might we meet in half an hour? I promise it would only be formalities, I already grand you permission so, besides questions about documentation, I won't ask about anything.

"R-right." He breathed loudly as he took away his phone slightly. He closed it when he calmed. "Then it's deal. Half an hour."

That's right. See you soon then.

"See you soon." He glanced over the phone as he turned it off. Tobias moment later stood here, holding his phone against his chest, until his sight was met with James laying on the couch. He raised his brow at him.

James likely noticed. "I got bored of trying to make you conscious." He got up and stood rather straight now. "You seemed insane while that phone conversation. What it was about?"

"I-it was this civil servant-"

"I took it from your talking, but what did she want?"

Tobias looked over him, rather shocked, about what he was even talking about, the face he likely spoke between his breaths. "She informed me she apologies for her behavior, as well as grand me permission for the adoption." James's eyes widened as he grabbed the top of his head. Tobias smiled brightly. "I've adopted Hiccup."

"That's amazing Toby!" He rushed to him and grabbed him by the shoulder, so both boys stood by each other's sides, with James's arm encircling the back of his neck. "I knew that one." He smirked proudly his chest sticking out. "After such great help from me, I would've been surprised if you didn't succeed." Tobias glanced at him, with one brow raised. "What can I say? I'm best." He stood nice and tall.

Tobias shook his head, but just then he throw himself onto James, at least that was what he thought about it. The truth was Toothless hugged his friend. "One I have to admit you. I wouldn't probably make it without you."

"Bullshit, of course, you would."

"Maybe, but I'm happier knowing you were by me through even worst."

They stood like that moment later before the two of them now came back to their old position, but this time both were encircling one another's the neck, likely supporting each other. "That's what friends are for." He smiled from ear to ear. "Anyway, when we're going to get yours baby, daddy?" He blinked, immediately regretting it as he finally register what he said. "Please, don't say Sarah I said that."

Tobias let go of his neck as he glanced away from him. "I'm not going to say, anyone!"

"Let it stay between us."

"I will take it to the grave."

Their little embarrassment was finished as there was a knock on wood, reasoning into opening the front doors from which a group of known Tobias persons made its way into his apartment. The first one who came in glanced over him with a rather reassuring smile as well as her shorter friend. Just behind them, two twins rushed inside with velocity about the same as a firework. Both of them held in theirs hold glass bottles. "Hey everyone! We have alcohol, let's wipe those tears off!" Belch exclaimed as he looked over everyone around.

Barf leaned onto Toothless's shoulder. "We have vodka, whiskey, beer, everything you would like!" He smirked at him, showing off before him bottles. Toothless glanced over him annoyed as he impacted his elbow in his stomach, immediately making the shorter boy step back, holding onto the place of ache.

Sarah facepalmed as she rushed her palm over her face. "I said something for consolation! I didn't mean the whole bar!"

"Listen, Stormfly. This is our chance to finally see him drunk. There is no way we're going to miss it." Belch leaned onto her, making her those serious eyes. "Toothless, I suggest we start with that cheap vine you probably started with, then we would get to vodka just to end up by whiskey and beer about 1 a.m. in the night. What do you say?"

Tobias rolled his eyes as he, as well as the rest of his friends, facepalmed. "If I wanted to vomit-" He glanced over him. "Looking straight at your face for a full minute would be enough to do so." James showed him his fist, and immediately knew what he meant he bumped into it.

"You know Tobias-" Martha got everyone's attention from behind her friend's back. "-maybe alcohol isn't best for you now. You lived through much today. Let's make something that will make you forget, but not in the way alcohol does." Everyone looked at her rather questioning, twins even rather like on madwoman. "I mean, we might watch something, play something. We have the whole night for that, aren't we? It's a lot of time."

Toothless glanced at the floor. Time. "But I don't have time!" He panicked as he now ramble in the circle.

James crossed his arms. "What do you mean?"

"She called me in half an hour at the city hall!"

"Half an hour is a lot of time! It's 10 minutes by foot, calm down!"

"You don't understand! I didn't buy anything! I got no clothes, no nappies. Nothing!"

James's eyes widened. "You've got nothing and you accepted a visit in half an hour?! What's wrong with you?!"

"I panicked, okay?! What else could I say?!"

"I don't know?! Maybe if you could get a little more time?!"

"Can anyone explain what's going on!" Finally, their little screaming contest was stopped by Sarah, which with a rather astonishing look glanced over both boys, once at one, once at another.

"I think I know a good explanation." Barf glanced over the ceiling thoughtfully, and everyone around sighed. "They are going to kidnap that child." He got a lot of annoyed glances. "What? They were saying something about nappies! I took it from context!"

"Barf, I'm sure even Toothless isn't that insane to kidnap an innocent child!" Martha smiled softly, then frightened as she glanced over at the said boy. "You aren't, are you?"

"Obviously no! I-"

"That's a perfect idea!" Toothless started but was interrupted by Belch who with maniac eyes glanced over everyone. "It won't be so hard if we work together-"

"Nobody is going to kidnap anybody!" Toothless finally screamed getting everyone's attention. He sighed. "Okay, you want an explanation? I will give you one. The civil servant called me. She changed her mind. She permitted me. I adopted Hiccup." He exclaimed between breaths. Everyone around inhaled. "Okay, so about the case-"

He didn't finish as Sarah throw herself into his side, hugging him tightly. "I'm so happy for you!"

"I-I-" He sighed. "Okay, thank you." He returned the favor as he placed his palm against her back.

She turned her face to rest, but the way she remained the same. "He hugged me back!" She squealed.

"Guys, please. There is still an issue-"

"I want to!" Martha exclaimed as she throw herself as well into him, as well as her friend, into his other side. "It's like hugging a big, hard teddy bear!"

Tobias was about to say something but eventually softened as he patted hers back. Just then, he felt an impact on his back as two rather skinny figures made their way to his back. "What the hell!" Twins jumped onto him and as they did they almost caused him to fall onto the ground. Fortunately, thankfully for his balance as well as strength, he was able to keep stable with them hanging from his neck over the ground.

"We want cuddles too!" Barf exclaimed into his ear, making Tobias flinch painfully.

"Barf, I'm going to cry," Belch whispered with watery eyes. "I'm hugging Batman, Darth Vader, and Bucky all in one!"

"For fucking sake!" Tobias groaned.

"Come here, everyone!" James exclaimed happily, but Tobias could see that mocking smirk on his face, as he embraced both twins behind their backs.

Toothless sighed loudly, all of them remained like that for a moment later before he grew tired of that. Eventually, he pushed the twins from behind his back, causing them, as well as James behind them, to end up on the ground hard. "Okay! Enough!" Then, he lightly pushed girls from his sides. Now breathing loudly to calm himself.

Belch raised his head from the ground. "He stood like that for 37 seconds!"

"Toothless I'm so proud of you!" Sarah showed her face before him, in imitation of a kiss. Immediately with his whole palm placed against her whole face, he pushed her away. Offended, she immediately pushed it off. "I hate when you do that."

He smirked. "That's why I do that." He shook his head. "Back to point-" He sat hard on the couch with a thoughtful mind as his legs shook uncontrollably.

Martha sat by him. "Maybe we could help you somehow."

He sighed. "I think there is no other possibility." He bit his lip. "Shops are closed since it's Sunday, I've got nothing from my younger age and I should come for him after signing those papers."

James stood up as he pushed clinging to his arm Belch, which by that fell onto the ground. "Can't you just go for him tomorrow?"

"No! I don't want him any longer there. I want him home. His home." Toothless answered sharply afterward getting from Sarah a rather comfortable smile. "What?"

"His home." She said softly.

"Right." He smiled to himself. "His home."

"Aw~ that's so sweet." Barf sighed gently as he pushed his, trying to stand up from the ground, brother, causing him to yet again end up onto it.

Said brother making him offended glance before focusing on others, still on the ground. "You love him! Please, just remember, don't send him into the temple." Toothless tried to say something, but he didn't let him do so. "Just don't! It's not safe for him."

"I fucking can't with your movies references." Tobias covered his whole face.

"That wasn't a movie reference! It was a show reference. Besides, Barf listen to that!" Belch exclaimed as he glanced over at his brother. "Toothless as John Wick and Hiccup being his dog."

Barf's eyes widened. "Yes!"

"Can we focus already!" Toothless screamed. "We have no time for that! I have no time for that!"

"Okay! I've got a plan!" Sarah screamed as she stood up. "How many cars do we have? Two right?"

"Three." Tobias confidently exclaimed. "If it's needed I'm going to give you mine."

Everyone glanced over at him shocked. "I'm going to drive his car!" Screamed Barf.

"No fucking way! I'm gonna!" His brother pushed him.

He pushed him back. "I saw you drink vodka! You can't drive!"

"What a fucking snitch!" Eventually, both fall onto the ground, now fighting each other.

Hookfang chuckled. "It's like watching a TV show, I love it!"

Toothless facepalmed. "I won't any of you my car!"

"Then who would you?" James asked with his hands supporting the back of his head as he lay on the couch. As an answer, Tobias stood up and walked towards his coat from which he took the keys. At only its sound everyone in the room glanced at him, just then he walked and showed keys before no one else than James. He held onto his heart. "M-me? B-but I have drank vine-"

"Only one glass." He handed him said keys. "I trust you with them."

James held tightly said keys as his eyes watered. "Storm, he gave me his keys. He let me drive his car. I'm going to cry." The girl hugged him by his shoulder. Martha patted his back.

Tobias sat by the armchair. "Guys, back to plan."

Stormfly cleared her throat. "Right, as I was saying, we have three cars, let's make it three groups. Me with Martha, Tobias with James, and-" She glanced onto fighting, this time probably for fun- "-twins." She shook her head after that sight, focused on the rest of the group. "We will drive through friends and family if they can borrow needed for us now items. What exactly do you need?"

"Some clothes for sure, for about three maybe four days before ordered by me would come. I need those just for those first days, if there would be a need to give them back, I will. Second of all just some typical things, nappies, tissues, maybe even soother, but it's not as needed. Well for a sure baby carrier, I won't take him from there onto my arms."

Everyone glanced after one another nodding at each other. "It might be done." Martha smiled at them.

"How much time do we have?" Sarah asked.

Tobias glanced over his phone. "20 minutes for the meeting."

"How long meeting is lasting?"

"Something like 30 minutes, maybe less."

"Alright, almost an hour. It's possible to do so."

Meatlug pointed at herself and Stormfly. "We're going to get those changing articles. My aunt runs the shop, maybe she could open it just for us."

James impacted his palm onto Tobias's back as he stood up and walked behind his back. "Before meeting we're going to my house, maybe my father left something from times of my childhood."

"We want to help too!" Belch exclaimed as both of them now stood before them. "We're going to get that carrier."

"No fucking way!" Tobias sighed. "Listen, I'm really happy you want to help, but that carrier is too important! Anyone else?" He glanced over everyone.

Everyone shook their heads. "My father sold mine when I was a child. These are pretty expensive." Everyone then nodded pointing at him, rather agreeing with him.

Tobias sighed as he glanced at the two twins. "If you're going to bring a shopping basket-"

"How did you know?!" Tobias was about to scream at them, but immediately afterward Belch continued. "I'm joking, it was a joke. We're going to bring that carrier."

"If we won't, you can even kill us with a pencil if you want." Both nodded.

Tobias glanced over them coldly. "Not only I will do that, but I'm also going to strangle you with only my thumb-" He stood up, now likely over them as they started to shrink from fear. "And if you think that's enough, know that I'm going to haunt you even after death for the rest of your afterlife!"

Both now shivered as they smiled at him nervously. "We will get you that carrier." Barf squealed as they rushed out of the apartment.

Tobias sat hard in an armchair once again. "Tell those morons we will see under the hospital about 50 minutes now." He glanced over his phone. "45 now." He covered himself with his palms.

Martha patted his back. "It's going to be okay. It's a final push now."

"Exactly," Stormfly exclaimed as she crossed her arms. "Calm down, it's already ended." She pushed James by her elbow.

He groaned quietly, but painfully. "Right. You have no choice now." He stood up. "C'mon Toby! There is work to do."

Tobias glanced over every one of them. "Thank you guys, I wouldn't have done that without you."

"We know. You're lucky you have us, especially me!" James smiled proudly as he raised his chin.

Sarah shook her head as she stood up. "No problem Toothless, we are happy we can help." She impacted her shoulder into the side of Hookfang which flinched painfully. "That's what we are friends for." Everyone rushed then after their coats. "Let's go, guys, we have no time for that now!"

As all of them rushed, Tobias stood for a mere moment now thinking all of that situation through. That's not what are friends for. He smiled to himself. That's what family is for. He breathed loudly as he as well rushed towards coats, getting ready for their way out.

Thank you, guys. Thank you for being my family, far earlier than I thought you were.

As time passed everything seemed to go in a good direction. Everyone around drove their way. Tobias and James ended up in James's house, unfortunately for them, they didn't find anything necessary, but Toothless was glad they came here as he was welcomed by the gold-hearted father of Hookfang who congratulated him on his adoption as well as asked for a meeting sometime later.

Time passed and both of them now rushed towards city hall. As they walked in, they were already met with smiley Minden, which from the same start once again apologized to Toothless for her earlier behavior. When they walked into her office, James stood outside, as he said, keeping his thumbs for him. The meeting wasn't long, it felt for Tobias like 5 minutes. As promised, Minden did, as the only questions were these like confirmation of Hiccup's birth date, and the proposition of changing Henry's name which Tobias disagree with, remaining by his old one, despite the fact it was given to him by his old parents. Eventually, Tobias had to sign the certificate and almost cried at its sight. Just beyond his name in the guardian column, there was beautiful writing he wasn't going to forget fast.

Henry Hiccup Night

He did it.

Bored to the death James who sat by the chair in front of the said office was surprised when Tobias rapidly burst outside and asked him if he would be Hiccup's godfather. Him. Godfather! Hookfang immediately throws himself into his friend screaming almost at top of his lungs his agreement. When everything finished, Tobias was informed certification would come to him by post in a few days. Both boys walked out, rather happily, rather joyful. It's all done.

As they drive to the hospital they were rather surprised to see all of their group was already there. Girls as asked were done, as they gave Tobias almost a whole bag of everything he needed. By the present, he smiled at them brightly as well as hugged them. The biggest surprise was about to come. Both twins did what was asked. They brought new carrier nobody knew from where. It was rather green, but Tobias wasn't looking at the color at all. When he told them he was proud of them, both of them throw themselves at him with thick tears. When emotions passed and everyone seemed ready, they rushed into the hospital as Tobias insisted on them going with him. Together.

He opened many known doors as he walked first into the white room. He breathed loudly as the knowledge he is probably here last time encircled him. He glanced forward as he saw, already waiting for him, Atali. She immediately walked to him and without hesitation hugged him tightly. "Minden called me. I'm so happy for both of you!"

Tobias returned the favor as he smiled brightly. "Thank you, very much for everything, for taking care of him." He moved from her so they could look eye to eye. "For letting me create that bond with him. I own you one."

"Knowledge my patient wouldn't end up as an orphan is just enough for me." Her eyes watered as she wiped a few of her tears. "But if you want to return it, I don't know if you know, but I'm also a private pediatrician. You might sign Hiccup to me if you want."

"I will for sure."

Both giggled as behind Toothless's back he could hear known him voice of Sarah. "May we?"

As he glanced behind, five heads were looking through the cracks of doors.

Atali pointed at them. "Those are-?"

He facepalmed. "My friends." His palm gets through his face. "May they?"

"Of course! More of us the better!"

They happily walked in. James already offended Sarah as he praised her that he was here already making the shorter girl jealous. Twins glanced over everything, Tobias could swear he heard them saying they were looking for scalpels. It was confirmed as Martha with all her strength tried to dissuade them from that idea. Toothless shook his head at that sight.

Atali chuckled. "Minden wasn't right." Tobias glanced over at her surprised. "You aren't alone."

Toothless nodded. "Yeah, I'm not." He sighed. "I guess we should head home." He glanced over at the bassinet. "Is he sleeping?"

"No, but I think he is going soon. I guess by your ride home he would fall asleep."

"Thank you for the information then." He walked forward towards... his son now. Before glancing down at him he took a big breath just to exhale calmly. This is it. As he looked down he was met with the sight of playing Hiccup with his Night Fury plushy. Toothless chuckled. "Hey, buddy." At the sound of his voice Hiccup rapidly turned his head in his direction. At his view immediately he squealed loudly, informing everyone around he was there. As Toothless glanced around everyone was now walking in their direction. He shook his head onto him. "And what have you done?" He whispered. "Now we have to deal with them." He showed his hand before him and Hiccup immediately held his pointing finger.

Everyone started gathering around them. Stormfly placed her palms against Toothless's shoulders. "He is so sweet, like a little pie!"

Hookfang and Meatlug came after her. Both of them melted and Martha's legs shook as she lost consciousness in them. Luckily, James was able to catch her. Atali noticed that as she called to them. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah!" She exclaimed as James helped her onto her legs. "I'm sensitive towards cute things, that much I'm almost fainting."

"Then better prepare yourself-" Behind her twins made their way. Barf crossed his arms. "-because something tells me Toothless wouldn't let him away from his sight now, because of which where Toothless would be, that boy as well."

"Hiccup." Toothless added harshly. Barf nodded bored.

Belch smirked. "He is so cute I would get him in the oven and eat sweet."

Barf's eyes widened. "Maybe that's Tobias's plan?"

Belch nodded. "From all along Tobias didn't require love, maybe he is just hungry."

Toothless shook his head. He would add there was something if it wasn't for the child before him. Eventually, Hiccup started to glance over everyone, visibly frightened. Toothless immediately started stocking his little palm in his hold. "It's okay buddy, it's okay. I know, there are much of people around, but you have to use to them. No matter how annoying they are, these are your family now."

Everyone present glanced over at each other. There were touching looks from Sarah and James, there were disgusted as well as frightened looks from Barf and Belch, and there was Meatlug... who fainted on the ground. Immediately Stormfly looked over her. "Are you okay Martha?!"

"I-I'm fine. I-it was just t-too much."

"I'm sorry I didn't catch you." James apologized and Tobias was sure what he felt behind his back was a strong poke from Sarah toward James.

Meatlug chuckled nervously. "I-It's okay. Maybe that's for better, I will just lay here for a moment."

Tobias was still glancing at Hiccup, which eventually started to pull out tiny hands to him in discomfort. He glanced at Atali who only crossed her arms. "Why you're looking at me? He is yours now."

Right, he is mine. Tobias stood up and hold little one in his hands as he pulled him against his chest. When he stood straight, he started stroking Hiccup's head with his cheek, immediately making him squeal loudly. "You like that, don't you?" He continued, just so to be interrupted by sharp and rapid light. As he glanced over his friends all now, even Meatlug, stood before, with their phones on him.

Belch shrugged. "What? We need evidence. You think someone would believe us?"

"I don't mean that, at least if you have to, shut down your flashes."

Meatlug shrieked slightly. "My bad, I always forget about those."

Time passed and Tobias started preparing Hiccup for their leaving. He placed him onto the diaper changing station and started dressing him up from his hospital clothing. While he did so, both girls kept on staring as well as occasionally making sounds of affection. Every time they did that, he was forced into pushing them away as both of them stole his personal space as well as his working space, biggest problem of all was they wouldn't give up so easily and every time he did that, they would come back to their place.

About the rest James, because of his sudden new position as Hiccup's godfather, decided he would gladly help as much as he could. The problem was he had done that in not such, for Tobias, good way. Hookfang kept giving him bits of advice and kept saying something was too tight or too loose. If it wasn't for his charge now, he would for sure attack him from furious. He already counted at last five times he would throw himself at him. About twins... they were just themselves. They weren't interested in Tobias's job, but their target was to annoy as many people as possible. Stupid jokes, mocking as well as dissipation were only slightly part of what they were doing now behind everyone's backs.

Meanwhile all of that, somewhere in the other part of the room, Atali stood glancing over the whole group with a bright smile on her face. It was an amazing feeling, knowing that child which was about to become abounded orphan, happened to find such a lovely family. As Tobias raised Hiccup into the air, with a rather a breath of relief, he made a cold glare next to him tall male, which just chuckled nervously.

"I guess that's it." Tobias glanced with a smile over at Atali, with Hiccup in his arms. Just then he turned towards James. "Where is the carrier?"

"I placed it by the doors. I will get it." He answered as with a nod of the head he rushed forward.

Atali stood before him, stopping him there. "Just, please, one more thing." As she noticed she got Tobias's whole attention, she breathed loudly. "Mister Night, there is a tradition among my patients by which after leaving they would take photos of them. May I-"

He didn't let her finish as he smiled brightly. "Of course."

Afterward, Atali almost rapidly took her Polaroid camera, as well as she directed it onto both the boys. Just at the moment when she was about to make it, she noticed Toothless's friends as they were trying to get away from it. Atali rolled her eyes. "If you want, it might be group foto."

"I-It might?" Martha asked nervously.

Everyone glanced over at Tobias, likely waiting for his agreement. He shook his head as well as smiled brightly. "C'mon, we won't wait for you the whole day long!"

There were squeals of happiness as well as screams of victory. "Okay, but only if we would get a copy of it!" Sarah exclaimed happily.

Everyone started gathering around Toothless as well as Hiccup. When everybody was getting ready Tobias glanced over them. It was his family, his rather strange family, but still family. He smiled towards them last time, before directing his sight onto the camera as well as everyone else did.

Mom and dad, thank you for the gift of life. I used it, and I hope one day I would make you proud. I will take care of Hiccup, as well as you wanted to take of me. I will give him the happiness I always wanted. I will give him the love he deserves. I will give him something, I didn't have.
