Chapter TWELVE - I wish you could have known them

Amanda pulled up to the cemetery and turned off the car. She looked at all of the bouquets she had and quickly arranged them into a beautiful bundle. She took a deep breath and got out of the car. She walked over to the graves of her husband's parents and gently laid the arrangement in between their headstones. She smiled at the stones as she read their names. Jennifer Hamilton Stetson and Major Matthew Davis Stetson. Lee's parents. Suddenly a light breeze came upon her and she pulled her coat tighter. She knew they were with her at that moment. She sighed and began talking.

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Stetson. Well, I guess I could call you Mum and Dad. I am, after all, Lee's wife, Amanda. I wanted to stop by and tell you all about my day today. You see, four years ago today I met Lee. He picked me out of a crowd when he needed help, but you already knew that. From that moment on I knew that Lee needed me. I think I needed him as well. Our timing wasn't always there but I think I fell in love with him early on. I think Lee did as well, it just took him longer to realize it. He's the best thing to ever happen to ever happen to…well not only me...but to my family as well. You would love our boys, Phillip and Jamie. Lee loves them if they were his own. He's going to be an amazing father. I can't wait to tell him my news. Yes, I am going to have a baby. I am excited about this and I know Lee will be as well. I wish you could be here to enjoy your grandchildren. I know that you are watching.

I don't know what else Lee has planned for the rest of the day but I wanted to share some of it with you. I love your son very much. You know all of this of course. I am going to spend the rest of my life making sure he knows he's loved. Well, I just wanted to stop by and let you know about your grandchild and tell you how special I think your son is. We are all lucky to have Lee, even though he says he's the lucky one. I will try and come by more often and give you updates on the family if you would like. If you see my Daddy, please let him know how our family is doing. I know he's going to be happy about all of this."

Amanda sighed and crouched down. She rubbed her fingers over Lee's parents names and said

"I love you very much Mum and Dad. We miss you greatly. Goodbye"

Amanda stood back up and walked over to her car. She smiled as she got in and drove off to her next stop before heading to Lee's apartment.

**** "What do you mean they lost her? How could they lose her? She went to the house in Georgetown, right? But then where did she go?" Lee Stetson knew he sounded frustrated. He tried not to let his anger get the better of himself. Francine had come into the guys changing room to let Lee know that the agents following Amanda throughout the day lost her after leaving the cemetery. She knew Lee would start getting worried about this wife and it would possibly cause an issue. Lee couldn't control his emotions when it came to Amanda's safety. Francine sighed and tried to calm Lee down.

" Lee, she went to the cemetery. She put all of the flowers you have been giving her all day at your parents grave."

Lee's mouth opened in shock and he didn't know what to say. He knew that Amanda was just including his parents on their special day. It was her way. He cleared his throat so Francine wouldn't notice how emotional he was getting.

"She went to see my parents?"

Francine nodded. "She sure did. She was there for about 15 minutes. Seemed to be talking to them. Then she got in her car. That's when Turner lost her. She was heading towards your apartment but Duffy hasn't seen her yet." She put her hand on Lee's. "Don't worry about her. She's fine. She's just probably caught up in traffic or something."

Lee sighed and said "Yeah. That's probably it. I am sure she's fine." Lee didn't know who he was trying to convince more. Himself or Francine. " Let me know the minute she's at my apartment, okay?"

Francine told him she would as soon as she heard something. She walked out the door and Lee went over to where the boys were watching TV. Phillip looked over at Lee and asked "Everything okay with Mom?"

Lee nodded " Yeah, She just took a small detour and went to see my parents. She gave them all of the flowers I have been leaving for her."

Phillip looked at Lee and smiled " See, Pops, she's just making it a true family event. She didn't want your parents left out. I think that's pretty cool."

Lee chuckled and said "You know Chief, you are right. Well, you mom is hopefully now heading to the last stop before this one. So it's almost show time. Why don't we go see what your grandmother is up to?"

The boys stood up and headed out to find Dotty. Lee ran his fingers through his hair and wondered where Amanda had gone.
