As Ryuga continued to recover in the hospital he learned more about where he was. He came to the conclusion that he was in a different world. Apparently 80% of the world had some kind of superpower called a quirk. Pro hero's were like an advanced form of law enforcement that were created and modeled after vigilantes that started popping up after quirks started showing up in the population. Pro hero's are specially trained to use their quirks to combat villains, which are just criminals that use quirks to commit crimes. Ryuga found out that people went to special schools to be pro heroes and decided to show this world what true power looked like (and totally not because he felt guilty about not helping with Nemesis.)
Ryuga was also experimenting with the power he now had. He figured out that his power was L-drago's. He could call upon the power anytime he wanted to. He was already very strong and athletic, you can't just jump nearly fifty feet from a standing position without being strong, but L-drago's power made him even stronger.
He soon found out about AllMight, the number one hero in the world. While Ryuga thought the rankings were stupid, he had to admit that the man had earned the title of Symbol of Peace. The man's strength seemed unparalleled, he was even strong enough to change the weather. Which is why Ryuga was so happy that he was being released today. If Ryuga was going to be a hero then he was going to be the best and that meant going to U.A. High School. The U.A. entrance exam was in a few months and he needed to get back to training. Not that he needed to train to pass the entrance exam but he needed to get a handle on his new powers so he could become stronger than AllMight.
Ryuga was placed in an orphanage. Seriously? Why!? Well apparently because he had no records of his existence they thought he was an illegal immigrant, but because he was a minor he wasn't deported. Despite the fact that Ryuga tried to argue that he was Japanese and could take care of himself, they chose to place him in this orphanage. Oh well none of the younger kids bothered him and the adults were too afraid of him to stop him from training. Some of the older kids tried to mess with him once but that stopped real quick when Ryuga broke one of the kid's arms when they tried to start a fight. The entrance exam was approaching fast but he was ready. His training allowed him to learn how to control his power. Ryuga was currently studying for the written portion of the exam when one of the younger kids came over to him. "What are you doing?" the kid asked. "Studying," Ryuga responded. "But you've been doing it for hours!" The kid exclaimed. Ryuga looked at him before saying "I have to catch up. Besides, why do you care?" "Because I want to play with you," the kid said. Ryuga stares at the kid and asks "what's your name kid." "Muku." Ryuga smiled and said "sure fine. What do you want to play?" Muku smiled and said, "Hide and seek." Ryuga played hide and seek with Muku for the rest of the day.
Today was the day of the entrance exam. Despite the fact that U.A. and the orphanage he was staying at was 24 miles away Ryuga walked there in three hours. Standing in front of the U.A. gate, Ryuga couldn't help but be disappointed. H.D. Academy was much bigger and it wasn't even known outside the U.S. To be fair to U.A. The owner of H.D. Academy was a crazy billionaire scientist and actively hid H.D. Academy from the rest of the world. "Move it extra," some spiky haired blonde shouts. Ryuga responded with a glare that takes the kid off guard. It was only for a split deco but Ryuga could see the shock and fear that came from his survival instincts telling him not to anger Ryuga. Completely ignoring his own instincts, the blond kid walked past Ryuga, shoulder checking the kid with green hair. As Ryuga walked by the green haired kid, the kid took a step forward only to trip and fall. Ryuga watched as a girl used her quirk to stop him before Ryuga walked off.
Ryuga was glad that he did all that studying. While science and mathematics weren't that different from his world, the history was radically different once quirks showed up. Luckily spending several hours a day studying for this test helped him catch up. The hardest part was definitely the quirk laws. Most of the questions were critical thinking questions about how the laws would apply to different situations. Considering that Ryuga spent most of the time in his world and this one blatantly ignoring those laws, Ryuga was not very experienced in how the laws applied to quirk usage. He still did the best he could to determine how certain laws would interact with each other. Finally the written test was over and the practical was about to begin. U.A. had every one of the participants brought in to an auditorium where the rules of the practical were explained. Ryuga sat behind the green haired kid from earlier when the announcer started talking. "Hello U.A. hopefuls. Are you ready?" During the silence that followed Ryuga was just barely able to catch that this guy was a pro that went by Present Mic and that all of the teachers at U.A. were pros. "Like your application says, today you will be conducting a ten minute mock battle in a fake urban setting. After I'm done here you head to your specified battle centers," Present Mic says. Ryuga looks at his card and sees that he is in battle center C. "Ok, let 's check out your targets. There are three types of fake villains and you gain points based on their level of difficulty. The goal of this trial is to use your quirks to gain as many points as possible. Attacking other examinees is not accepted." A tall boy with navy blue hair stood up and said "excuse me sir but I have a question." Ryuga already didn't like this kid. "On the print out you've listed four types of villains, not three. If this is a mistake on official U.A. material it is shameful. We are exemplary students and we expect better from Japan's best school. Additionally you with the unkempt hair. You've been muttering this entire time. Stop it. If you can't take this seriously then leave. Your distracting the rest of us." Ryuga had enough of this and spoke up. "Would you shut up? I'm right behind this kid and I could barely hear him." Ok examinee 7111 thank you for asking. The last villain is worth zero points. It is just an obstacle for you to avoid. It's not that it can't be beat but there is really no point. I recommend that you ignore it on the ones at the top of the charts. Now before we send you on your way I give you a sample of our school motto. As Napoleon once said, a true hero is one that can overcome life's misfortunes. Now let's hear a Plus Ultra.
Ryuga looked up in amazement. This was the mock city. And they had how many of these things each one looked like it was as big as Hades City, well at least the above ground portion. Ryuga quickly regained his composure. "Go." Ryuga heard Present Mic and immediately began running, quickly outpacing the rest of the examinees. When Ryuga entered the city he ran into a one pointer. Ryuga slowed down to a walk and backhands the robot, sending it into a building. "This is all they got? This will be boring," Ryuga thinks.
Ryuga sits at the top of a pile of robots. In the last seven minutes he had managed to destroy over one hundred robots. He had long since lost track of his points, only counting the number of robots he had destroyed. Ryuga was also bored. The robots were so fragile that even his weakest attacks shattered them. Meanwhile in a dark room a collection of people were watching the exam. "Clearly the examinees have no idea how many villains there are. Some use information gathering abilities" the camera focuses on an examinee that has several arms. "while others use speed to pull ahead." The camera now focuses on the blue haired kid that had engines in his legs. "Of course staying calm under pressure can be a huge advantage". The camera shows a blond boy with a laser coming out of his stomach, "as can pure power." The camera shows images after images, one of them being Ryuga sitting on a pile of robots, the other of the blond boy from earlier, surrounded by robot parts and with smoking hands. One of the female figures says " this year looks promising." A different voice says "Well there is still plenty of time. The real test starts now. Let's see how they react."
Ryuga had started to search for more robots when he heard a distant rumbling. The earth began to shake as a giant robot began to rise above the buildings. The rest of the examinees were running away from the behemoth but Ryuga finally saw something that might challenge him. Ryuga began walking towards the Zero pointer. He hears that there is only two minutes left in the practical but Ryuga did not care. He was focused solely on the challenge in front of him. The giant behemoth threw a punch at Ryuga but he merely held his hand out in front of him and stopped the strike. The machine held the attack and continued to apply pressure but Ryuga was still stopping it. Ryuga pushed and threw the fist back seemingly knocking the robot off balance. "This has tested me more than anything else in this test, for that I shall show a fraction of my true power." Ryuga brought his hands together and an orange- yellow energy built up in his hands. "Dragon Emperor Soaring Bite Strike!" Ryuga shouts as he throws the ball which explodes in the orange- yellow dragons. The dragons rap around the zero pointer before driving themselves into it and tearing it apart. As the pieces of the zero pointer came crashing down Present Mic called out the end of the practical.
It had been a week since the practical and Ryuga was getting impatient. They said the results would be ready by now. Ryuga was coming back from training when Muku came by. He was holding a letter in his hands. "The administrators asked me to give this to you." Ryuga takes the letter and sees that it is from U.A. Muku then says "Ryuga." Ryuga looks down at Muku. "I hope you pass." Ryuga smirks and ruffles Muku's hair while saying "Of course I passed." Ryuga walked back to his private room. Opening the envelope he found a letter and a small disc. Ryuga took both out and prepared to read it but when he set the disc down it came to life. "Bo-yah. I am here. With the results. Young Ryuga, you scored a 98% in the written test. One of the best scores we saw this year. In addition to that you had an outstanding score on the practical. You scored an awesome 274 points which is a new U.A record. Congratulations Young Ryuga, this is your hero academia." Ryuga smirked as he looked at the hologram. He has the highest score in the history of U.A. Ryuga looks at the letter and sees that it has some more information. It contains everything that he needed to get for the first day. Ryuga Began laughing to himself thinking about how much better he did than the person who got second place.
Bakugo was pissed. Not only was he second place but first place was 197 points ahead of him. He didn't know who this Ryuga guy was but he should have known that he, Bakugo, was the strongest. He would prove that he was the best.
