Healing Jutsu

Sakura put her hand on Sasuke's shoulder and circulated her chakra. The wound closed little by little, until it disappeared completely. Earlier in the morning, they had helped a father and his son who were being robbed. They easily stopped the thieves. The man and his son thanked them and they returned to their village. It was then that Sakura noticed that Sasuke had been wounded on his shoulder. It was only a superficial wound, but it was the kind of wound that needed to be healed before it became infected. Sakura moved her hand from his shoulder. Sasuke thanked her, but he saw that something was wrong. She looked upset. He gently took her hand.

'What's wrong ?' he asked.

'Nothing.'

'Sakura, I can see that something is wrong.'

She sighed.

'You were hurt.'

'But it was nothing serious. We've had worse.'

'I know, but it could have been worse.'

'Everything went well and you heal me.'

That was exactly what he did not understand.

'If one day I'm not here to heal you. We don't know what can happen.'

If he had more serious injuries that he could not heal ? She knew it was an irrational fear and that he had spent years alone without needing her. But she was worried. She had always been worried about him.

'I'll be fine,' Sasuke tried to reassure her. 'So don't worry.'

Suddenly, an idea crossed Sakura's mind.

'How about I teach you Medical Ninjutsu. At least the basics. I will be more reassured if something happens and I cannot heal you.'

Sasuke looked at her, surprised. She was really serious. She wanted to teach him the Medical Ninjutsu. He could also see the concern in her eyes. He told himself he could learn the basics. At least she would be reassured.

'Fine,' he said.

Sakura smiled in relief and hugged him.

'Come on. We have to go fishing.'

Sasuke frowned. Why did they need a fish ?

~00~

Sakura and Sasuke were on their knees, the fish in front of them and Sasuke trying to practice a Medical Ninjutsu technique. Even if Sakura was an excellent teacher, Sasuke felt like he could not do anything right. He could never have been as patient as Sakura. He understood her a little more and he admired her. He admired her for all her efforts, for the difficulties she had gone through. He admired the woman she had become. And every day he loved her more. He took his hand away from the fish and sighed.

'You're almost success,' Sakura encouraged.

Sasuke looked at her, perplex. He was far from success.

'Try one more time.'

'You're with me, anyway. Everything will be fine.'

'Sasuke-kun.'

'Sakura.'

She sighed. He could be really stubborn. An idea crossed her mind. She approached him and she smiled.

'If you learn this technique, I'll give you a kiss.'

Sasuke smirked.

'How about you give me one kiss to cheer me on.'

Sakura pretended to think. She wrapped her arms around his neck and moved her lips close to his.

'Just one,' she said. 'Then we get back to work.'

'Just one,' he agreed.

They kissed. One kiss became more kisses, and the training in Healing Ninjutsu was soon forgotten.
