I own nothing here. This idea got into my head and wouldn't get out, so I wrote it down so I could get back to focusing on my other fiction. Warnings fluff, some angst and two males in love, if that's not your thing the please don't read. Yes, I wrote the words of this song and yes, I know they are not good, I tired okay.
Moonlight and sunlight.
Sportacus was struggling to sleep, this had been happening to him more and more often lately. For some reason he just couldn't get to sleep as easily as he used to be able to…Who was he kidding Sportacus knew exactly the reason that he couldn't sleep it was Robbie.
Somehow, he had unknowingly fallen in love with Robbie, he had only realised his feelings for him recently and when Sportacus had taken the time to look back at his feeling he became aware that he had in fact been in love with Robbie for some time now.
Sportacus was well aware that Robbie completely hated him and the likely hood of him ever loving was lower than a zero. Then there was the fact that he was an elf and Robbie was mortal, Sportacus had seen the pain of loving a mortal could cause for one of his kind. They would spend the rest of their long lives wandering like lifeless shades of themselves, utterly heart broken by their loss. It was not a pretty fate and some couldn't even live with the pain and ended themselves or died much younger than they should have.
Sportacus really didn't want to suffer such a fate, but no matter how hard he tried to reason that falling in love with Robbie was an extremely bad idea, but his heart wouldn't listen to his head and it practically sang in his chest whenever Robbie was around him.
Lately every time Robbie did something slightly nice towards him, conversed with him in a pleasant way or didn't try to get rid of him Sportacus's heart pointed out that this had to be a good sign and that maybe just maybe Robbie was softening towards him and might even have some romantic feelings for him as well.
When ever Robbie would act negatively towards him it now caused Sportacus a great deal of pain and he desperately wanted to find a way to make Robbie like him, even if it was just a little bit.
Knowing that these thoughts were unlikely to go away for some time now they were in his head again Sportacus let out a deep sigh, he got out of bed.
After thinking about how he might be able to get back to sleep Sportacus decided to go for a walk to see if helped him get to sleep. "Airship door open!" He called out in a voice which was less than normally cheerful voice.
"Door open!" It chirped back to him opening the door.
Sportacus jumped the short distance from the airship to the ground, he then looked around the area, it was odd to him to see the town as it was. Everything was so quiet, many of the street lights where off at this time making the town darker than usual, this however made the stars clearly visible in the night sky.
There was Sportacus had to admit something soothing about this semi darkness and silence which held the town in its embrace.
Sportacus set off on his walk, as he walked along Sportacus decided to make his way to the Lazy town castle. He was part of the way there when Sportacus heard something in the distance, wondering what it was he came to a halt and tried to work out what he was hearing. After a few moments of listening to the sound Sportacus realised that it was someone was singing.
Curious as to whom would be out at this time of night and singing Sportacus changed direction and followed the singing through the town. As he got closer to the source of the singing Sportacus realised it was a male singing and that they had an amazing voice.
Then another realisation struck him, he was translating the words from elven to English in his head without even being aware of what he was doing. This recognition startled him, it caused Sportacus to stop walking for a moment, his eyes went wide, his brain seemed to come to a complete standstill.
A few moments later Sportacus shook himself out of his surprised stupor, he set off at a run towards the source of the voice, wondering who in Lazy Town could be an elf like him.
As the buildings of the town fell away, Sportacus stopped running as he saw the tall slender figure of Robbie standing in a nearby meadow looking up at the night sky. He was silent at this moment leaving Sportacus to wonder momentarily if he had imagined hearing that wonderful voice singing in elven.
Then much to Sportacus's surprise when Robbie began to sing in elven again, he was singing one half of a duet that Sportacus knew well. It was a duet which was normally sung together by wooing couples. If he joined in with the song and Robbie continued to sing with him then it would mean that Robbie loved him and wanted to be his. While at the same time by continuing to sing with him he would in return be telling Robbie that he loved him and wanted to be his.
"The sun is as my love
Brilliant handsome and untouchable.
I am the moon
Doomed to never see his light."
Just the thought of the possibility that Robbie might love him and want to be his brought a wide smile to Sportacus's face and his instantly made the decision to sing the other part of the song. As he started to sing Sportacus walked through the meadow towards Robbie wanting to reach his side and show him how much he cared for him.
"The moon is as my love
Luminous, handsome and mysterious.
I am the sun
Doomed never to see his light."
Robbie gave a start of surprise when someone else's voice joined his, he whipped around, his eyes widened at the sight of Sportacus coming towards him. For a moment he hesitated to sing the next part of the duet, but when Sportacus shot him a pleading look Robbie found himself cracking and singing the next part.
"His eyes will never fall on me.
I shall drift past him quietly
He will never see my light.
I will hold my love in silence
As quiet as the stillness of the night."
Giving him a brilliant smile Sportacus came a little closer to Robbie, but as he did this the other elf backed away from him, his eyes full of uncertainty and his posture speaking of the fact that at any moment he might turn and run.
Seeing this Sportacus didn't try to come any closer to Robbie, instead he held both hands out towards him and then sang to him in a yearning voice.
"My own bright light drowns his out
I am too radiant and scare him
Though I wish I might embrace him
But I fear I will burn him.
So, I keep my love hidden
Within my bright light."
Robbie staired at Sportacus's hands for some timeless moments, he had never expected for Sportacus to discover he loved him like this, in fact Robbie had never thought that Sportacus would ever know about his feelings for him.
Robbie wasn't sure why he is singing with him or why Sportacus wanted him to go to him, it just couldn't be possible that he loved him back, Sportacus had to just being kind to him or feeling sorry for him because he was a compassionate elf.
He briefly considered turning and running away but as Sportacus shot him a pleasing look Robbie found himself pinned in place by that look and singing back to him before he could even think to stop himself.
"My tears and hopes born of my love
Are the stars in the night sky
But they go unnoticed by him
lost in his burning light."
Sportacus smiled softly towards Robbie as he continued to sing, he took a small step forward while continuing to hold his hands out towards him, while he tried to trap Robbie's gaze with his so that hopefully Robbie would be able to see from his eyes that he meant the words of this song.
As Robbie's gaze met his Sportacus was thrilled and awed to see that Robbie's eyes were filled with love for him. All Sportacus wanted to do in that moment was close the distance between them and take Robbie into his arms, hold him close and kiss him, but he knew that until he could calm the flighty elf down doing as he yearned to was not going to be a wise idea. So, instead he took another small step towards Robbie, and sung the next part of the song.
"My longing and dreams of him
They are the rays of my light
But they never reach him.
The cool night extinguishes them
They will never touch his heart."
Somehow Robbie managed to pull his eyes away from the intense gaze of Sportacus, his eyes darted down to the hands being held out to him, then back to the other elf's face then down again, before Robbie gathered up what little bravery he had, he took the few steps towards Sportacus and placed his hands into his.
Slowly Sportacus closed his hands around Robbie's it was a simple gesture, yet it filled Robbie with such an intense feeling of joy and rightness. Robbie staired at their joined hands for a little bit, it was amazing to him how well their hands fitted together and how warm he now felt inside from just this small amount of contact from Sportacus.
Eventually Robbie lifted his eyes from their joined hands to meet the gaze of the other elf and the love he could see in those brilliant blue eyes was as bright as the sun itself. When Sportacus gave him a shy but loving smile Robbie was sure his heart was going to burst with the elation he felt in that moment.
With a lot more confidence than he had in him before Robbie sang the final part of his section of the song to Sportacus.
"The sun is as my love
Brilliant handsome and untouchable.
I am the moon
Doomed to never see his light."
Sportacus was smiling widely at Robbie, he was thrilled to know that Robbie was pleased to know that Robbie loved him and he was reasonably sure that Robbie now knew that he loved him in return.
Despite feeling this certainty, Sportacus decided the best thing he could do was tell Robbie that he loved him as soon as they finished this song and to kiss him just to get his point across to the stubborn elf.
As he thought about kissing Robbie delight raced through him and Sportacus began to sing his final part so that he could share his feelings and a kiss with Robbie as soon as possible.
"The moon is as my love
Luminous, handsome and mysterious.
I am the sun
Doomed never to see his light."
The two elves stood in silence, holding hands and looking at each other lovingly for a few moments before Sportacus said in a hushed voice. "I was so afraid that to love you would mean I would end up like those elves who have loved and lost their mortal loves…But my heart wasn't listening and I still found myself falling in love with you any way…I love you Robbie, with all my heart and soul. I'd be honoured if you would join your life to mine."
Robbie stood listening to what Sportacus was saying to him, hardly able to believe what he was hearing and if it hadn't been for the hands holding his so tenderly Robbie would have thought that this whole thing was nothing more than a dream. "I never dreamt that you could possibly love me…I thought it was the most impossible thing…Like the moon loving the sun…"
"Is that why you chose to sing that song?" Sportacus asked him gently.
"Yes…" Robbie said in a breathy whisper.
Sportacus smiled widely up at Robbie. "I'm glad to know you love me too…May I kiss you?"
Instead of answering this question verbally, Robbie just nodded his head to Sportacus. Aware that he needs to go slowly and gently with Robbie Sportacus releases Robbie's hands, he carefully places one hand to Robbie's waist, the other to the back of his neck and then brings his lips softly to Robbie's.
Sportacus had not expected kissing Robbie to feel so wonderful or so right and he was finding it very hard not to kiss him harder or to take this first kiss further than just a soft press of lips against lips.
A tension he had not known he had been holding eased in Sportacus, when Robbie placed on hand to the outside of his shoulder, another to his waist, before he then gently and a little uncertainly started to kiss him back.
A murmur of delight issued from Sportacus, he was delighted that Robbie was kissing him back, he didn't want this kiss to never end and felt so blissfully happy right now. Nothing in his life had ever made Sportacus feel like this before.
Robbie was lost in kissing Sportacus, he felt like he was floating, while at the same time he felt sure that his heart was about to burst from the joy he was experiencing. Even after dreaming about what kissing Sportacus might be like reality was so much better.
Robbie loved the way that the shorter elf fitted against him, holding him felt so right and he suddenly found himself feeling rather protective of the smaller Sportacus. All at once Robbie felt guilty for all the times, he had hurt Sportacus and tried to make him leave town.
This guilt made him wonder how Sportacus could forgive him for what he did, let alone love him and so Robbie pulled back from the kiss saying sadly as he did so. "I'm sorry…I don't…After all I have done to you, I don't deserve you."
After he said this Robbie tried to move back, but Sportacus tightened his hold on him. "I forgive you for it all Robbie."
"I don't see how you can." Robbie said as he shook his head at him, he refused to look at the other elf, while at the same time he tried to get away from Sportacus.
Once more Sportacus tightened his hold on Robbie and said commandingly. "Robbie stop! Look at me!"
Robbie stops fighting Sportacus's hold, but he continued to look down and away from Sportacus. "Look at me!" Sportacus told him firmly.
Very slowly Robbie turns his head and looks down at Sportacus. As soon as he did so Robbie found his gaze trapped by an intense pair of blue eyes which burned with a mixture of furry and love. "I love you Robbie! I forgive you for the past. Forgiveness is part of love and I love you with all of my being. I won't deny you trying to make me leave hurt, but it hurt me because I didn't want to be parted from you. The past is just that the past, we cannot change it but we can choose to forgive and move forwards into a new future. What I want is to leave all that went before now in the past where it belongs behind us and I desire for you to walk forwards with me into the future where things will be different between us because we know we love each other and don't want to hurt each other."
Delight and relief spread through Robbie as Sportacus made it clear that not only did he loved him, but forgave him for the past and wanted to build a future with him. "I love you so very much Sportacus…Thank you for forgiving me, I don't think anyone but you would be able to do so. I love the idea of leaving the past behind and taking this as a new beginning for us…I too want to walk forwards into the future with you."
"May I call you my boyfriend Robbie?" Sportacus asked him blushing slightly as he made the enquiry.
Robbie found the blushing Sportacus adorable and all he wanted was to kiss him again, but first he decided to answer the question he had been asked. "Of course, you may."
This answer caused a bright smile brake out on Sportacus's face, before he could say anything to Robbie, he was letting out a surprised sound as Robbie kissed him softly but fully.
Robbie gently slipped his arms around Sportacus, he spread his hands wide on his back and then firmly pulled Sportacus closer to him so that their bodies where touching at last. As their bodies made contact, they both hummed in pleasure, Sportacus moved his hand at Robbie's waist round and onto his back holding him tightly but lovingly.
When they broke this second kiss the two of them shared a loving smile. "I look forwards to our future together." Sportacus told him honestly.
"As do I." Robbie said in a soft, but loving voice, before he hugged Sportacus to him.
Without a moments hesitation he returned the hug and revelled in how right this felt. Sportacus let out a sigh of satisfaction and allowed himself to relax for a moment.
"It's rather late for you to still be up. Would you like me to see you back to the airship so you can get back to sleep?" Robbie enquired of him in a solicitous voice.
"I think I would be able to sleep now…But I don't want to leave you…I wish I could share a bed with you but mine is a single." As he spoke there was a disappointed tone to his voice.
A slow mischievous smile appeared on Robbie's face, he leant down and whispered into Sportacus's ear. "I have a double bed we can use if you want."
"Oh, that would be wonderful, are you sure you don't mind?" Sportacus enquired of him nervously.
Robbie shook his head. "I don't mind at all."
After he said this Robbie took one of Sportacus's hands in his and side by side the two of them made their way to the lair. Sportacus and Robbie made their way inside, Robbie led him away from the main room of the lair into the corridor to one side of it, after a short walk he opened a door and turned on a light to reveal a bedroom with a large purple bed to one side.
Robbie walked across the room, he turned on a bedside lamp and pulled back the bed linen so they could get in. Still fully clothed Sportacus and Robbie got into bed, after taking a few moments to settle down Robbie asked Sportacus. "Are you comfortable?"
"Wonderfully thank you." Sportacus replied honestly, as he snuggled up against Robbie.
Smiling widely Robbie kissed him on the forehead, he turned off the lamp, wrapped his arms around Sportacus and let out a contented sigh. "Good night, Sportacus."
"Good night, Robbie." He said in turn.
Wrapped around each other, feeling utterly content and complete at last the two elves fell into a deep and peaceful sleep.
