"Mamma Mia! This place is-a so creepy!"
Luigi shivered at the sight of the haunted mansion he was stood before. It was even creepier than he remembered. Why did a scaredy-cat like him always get dragged into missions that took place in this spooky place?
Lightning flashed across the bleak night sky as the howling wind rustled the trees in the woods. All of this made the atmosphere of the haunted mansion seem very scary - and this was only on the outside! Who knew what terrifying supernatural beings were waiting inside for the lanky, moustached plumber?
Luigi tensed up nervously. He could well remember being startled and chased by the countless ghosts during his last few visits to the mansion. Perhaps they were still lurking inside, awaiting his anticipated arrival? Maybe he would encounter something even worse than those undead spirits this time? He really did not want to go inside the haunted mansion.
But he had to. There was a mission to complete - and he was the only one who could do it.
"Okay…" Luigi said bravely as he took a deep breath. "Let's-a go!"
Putting his best foot forward, Luigi cautiously approached the ominous-looking building. The window continued to whistle eerily as the lightning illuminated the sky. The mansion stood uninvitingly in the darkness. It was as if it was trying to warn the cowardly plumber not to enter; telling him to instead leave and never return.
Luigi urged himself forward until he reached the door of the mansion. He raised a shaky hand to take hold of the rusty handle. He took another deep breath before easing the door open, about to enter the mansion and face the dangerous threats and frightening creatures on the inside.
"BOO!"
"AIIIIIEEEEE!"
A shocked, terrified, panic-filled scream escaped Luigi. His eyes were wide as they fixed onto the most horrible-looking thing in his life. Never had he seen anything so terrifying and ugly. There was no way he was going to enter the haunted mansion now. Not if this hideous thing was on the inside.
"HEEEEELLLLLP!"
Still screaming, Luigi swung around and raced away as fast as he could. His arms were raised above his head as he disappeared into the woods, leaving the creature that had just frightened him off standing in the doorway on the haunted mansion.
"Luigi! Where are you going?"
A puzzled expression formed on the face of the scary being. He was taken aback by the cowardly plumber's reaction to him. Why on Earth had Luigi been so frightened just by the sight of him?
"It's-a me, Mario!"
