Dawn of a New Order

The Empire has fallen. In coup d'etat; Great General Budo has seized power and is now President. Gen. Najenda now acts his ruthless Chief of Secret Police, working tirelessly to stamp out opposition to the new regime. Meanwhile, Tatsumi, the man who inadvertently brought on the fall of the 1000 year empire is nowhere to be found.

OK guys, I developed a liking for the show Akame ga Kill, and after reading several stories by other; I am now inspired to write my own tale.

Here's a short proposal for my story:

In this story, Najenda discovers Tatsumi's duplicity as he joined the Jaegars and became Esdeath's lover. As details of their relationship become, Tatsumi's attempts to spin his actions as undercover mission fall on deaf ear's. Fed up with the excuses, Najenda gives him a simple ultimatum, kill Esdeath, or be turned over to Rebel High Command for immediate execution. To ensure his success, he is teamed with his jealous "ex"-girlfriend, Mine.

Of course, Tatsumi instead of following mission protocols and killing Esdeath, has sex with her instead. All the while being filmed by a skeevy Palace Guard, interested in using blackmail to secure his pension fund.

Needless to say, the leaked tape of TatsumixEsdeath, confirming her scandalous and traitorous relationship with a member of Night Raid (the enemy) is enough to send Budo over the edge, and launch a coup. The corruption of the Prime Minister has extended so far as to cross battlelines and make a mockery of all that he has stood and fought for. Budo offers commissions in his new army to various high ranking rebel commanders, and offer they accept, and proceeds with Operation Omega, the last resort, where they overthrow the government.

Now President, he rids the empire of corruption, inefficiency, and injustice. The Prime Minister, and his puppet, Makato, are swiftly put to death, and a democracy of sorts is declared. However, true to his authoritarian nature, he governs with an iron fist, a benevolent despot, yet a despot nonetheless. Najenda, now working for the new regime, dissolves Night Raid, having outlived their usefulness. The members, now unemployed go about their separate ways. Only Akame, Chelsea, and Mine retain employment as their skillset prove useful to the new regime. The remaining teigu users, are hunted down and persecuted, since their weapons and their mastery pose a threat. Only those who voluntarily give up their Imperial Arms can avoid persecution.

Only one armed teigu master has escaped the clutches of the regime unscathed. That is Tatsumi, bearer of Incursio, who is holed up on an enchanted tropical isle filled with exotic Danger Beasts.

Now here comes the big question

What should I do with the other characters?

I cannot decide between giving them happy endings or tragic ones. And I want to ask other fans of the series what would be best?

- Should Esdeath get killed? Sniped from behind by Mine, while engaged in the act with Tatsumi? Or should I have her escape to the tropical isle and grow their relationship further? Should I also base this island on the one they spent time on in the anime?

- What should I do with Leone? I thought of confining her to cage, spending the rest of her days as a circus attraction? Or should she also escape her fate?

- How about Lubbock? I thought about giving him a super-sad ending: He hangs himself with Cross Tail having lost his job and ultimately rejected by the object of his desire, Najenda. But I thought it might be cool if he meets up with Tatsumi instead.

- Wave. I figure I'd have him turn in Grand Chariot. Disenchanted with the new regime, he eventually sets out on his own and lands shipwrecked on Tatsumi's island. Question is, should he be accompanied by Kurome?
