Hi Spider-verse, this is my very first Spider Man story! My mom and I found "Far From Home" on cable last weekend, and since my mom and I love Tom Holland, we watched it. So then of course we had to go rent "Homecoming" from the library and watch it the next day. And then we ran out and saw "No Way Home" immediately. Thus my new obsession with Spider Man was born, and so was this Fanfiction. I'm planning on this being a series of drabbles, mostly based on some prompts I've had lying around my house for another fandom for far too long. Forgive me any continuity or characterization errors; I'm just going based off of the latest trilogy and what scenarios make me happy. Please enjoy!

"Peter Parker!"

Busted.

"MJ, just hear me out…"

"Nope. Bring that monstrosity here this instant."

Peter sheepishly pulled the package he was holding from behind his back and placed it on the kitchen table. He was going to surprise her later, but MJ caught on immediately. He couldn't hide much from her; even though she didn't have super powers, sometimes he swore her spidey-sense was even stronger than his. He cautiously looked up to meet his girlfriend's eyes, and though she was trying to maintain a serious demeanor, she was failing. She might not admit it, but she looked thoroughly amused.

"What part of 'no Valentine's Day gifts' didn't you understand?" she asked, glaring at the small, pink gift bag now making itself comfortable on her table.

"Is that what you said? I thought I heard 'I'm too tough to admit I'm actually a softy and would love a Valentine's Day gift.'"

She punched him in the arm.

"Ow," he lamely added, considering MJ's punches didn't hurt too much, unless he was already bruised there. When she continued to glare at him expectantly, he decided it was best he elaborate before she hit him again.

"Come on, MJ. It's our first Valentine's Day together. And I tried not to get you anything, I really did, but… you're my first girlfriend, the best girlfriend, the most AMAZING girlfriend I could've ever asked for, and it didn't feel right to not acknowledge it with at least something. So I promise I kept it simple. Can you just indulge me and open it?"

Her eyes still boring into him, she reluctantly tore them away to glare at the offending package again. She loved him, more than she was even ready to admit out loud, but if he had gone all out and gotten her something expensive…

"Fine." She grabbed the package, averted her eyes, and quickly yanked the gift out of its paper prison. She popped open one eye to assess the gift, before opening the other and fully taking in what she was holding in her hand.

Then she burst out laughing.

"Peter, I love it!" she laughed as she looked at the small bag of peanut M&M's in her hand. Unlike the normal yellow wrapper, in big letters, this one read "I just want to apologize for whatever I do in the future."

"I saw it at the bodega on the way here, and couldn't resist, so I grabbed a gift bag too, to… ya know, make it more special," he explained.

"Peter, this is the best gift I didn't ask for that I could've asked for." His face broke into a wide smile.

"Really?"

"Really. Thank you." And with that, she gave him a well deserved kiss.

It started soft and slow, as their kisses usually did, but soon took on a heat that both of them had to admit had been growing stronger and stronger in the months they had been together. MJ had to pull herself away before things went too far, as it would ruin the opportunity for her to give Peter his gift.

"Wait…"

"What, is something wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong, nerd." She rolled her eyes at his worry. "I actually have something for you too."

Peter looked at her like she had just greatly insulted his grandmother. "I thought you said no gifts!"

"I did, but…" she paused for dramatic effect. "I also went to the bodega."

She reached into her backpack and revealed another bag of M&Ms, handing them to a very confused Peter. "Read it," she prompted.

He read the writing on the wrapper out loud: "I love being socially awkward with you."

He let out a relieved sigh, and then they both burst out laughing together. "Of course we would end up getting each other the same gift!" he said.

"Mine's better," MJ quipped.

"No way!" he laughed, pulling her in for a hug and teasingly yanking on one of her curls.

"Keep telling yourself that, spider-boy," she replied, laughing into his chest. "Let's go watch that movie like we planned, it'll be better now that we have snacks."

They quickly settled into their usual spots on MJ's couch, lights low, Netflix on, and just the simple joy of being with each other and sharing a few bags of M&Ms. Neither one of them could have imagined a better first Valentine's Day. And secretly, they both hoped there would be many more.
