MerAdd - Together forever

Chapter 1

Dr Addison Montgomery had woken up with a bad feeling and didn't want to go into work that day but knew she had to so she forced herself to get up and go to the hospital.

As soon as she got to the hospital she got paged to the ER. It was absoulte chaos when she got down there and she found Mark and asked what had happened.

"Pile up on the freeway. a couple of residents were sent out there and are on their way back with the most critical patients"

Just as he was finished an ambulance was heard from outside and Addison ran to it whilst Mark was paged elsewhere.

Addison was met by 2 paramedics and Dr Yang when the ambulance opened.

"Jane doe. Hit by a truck from the drivers side in the pile up stable but in critical condition- " He was about to continue when Cristina cut him off.

"She's not a Jane Doe her names Meredith" Cristina looked back at Addison. "Its Meredith Addison"

Addison was frozen for a minutes before leaping into action and rolling the gurney through the ER. Bailey came up beside her and asked what the situation.

"its Meredith Bailey. Its Meredith Grey"

Everyone in the ER stopped and looked at Addison before some on them came over to help.

Addison didn't realise she was crying until Callie came over and asked if she was okay and told her to step back.

Callie was the only person who knew about her crush on the resident and understood why Addison was so upset.

Reluctantly Addison left the room with Callie who said she would be back to help Meredith when she was stable enough as her breaks weren't the main concern at the moment.

Callie lead a now sobbing Addison to the floor across from Merediths room and heald her close.

"Now i might never get to tell her" was sobbed out.

"Oh Addie, Merediths a fighter she will be fine and stronger than ever and you too will be able to spend the rest of you life together."

"Even if she is okay she probably doesn't feel the same way"

"I don't know about that one Meredith Grey is full of surprises"

Addison chuckled and then sniffed and placed her head on Callies shoulder.

Bailey walked out of Merediths room a few minutes later.

"She's stable and she's going to be fine. Callie i think you shoud go check her out for any breaks whilst she is still heavily sedated we didnt have time to asses all of her breaks but all her scans are still in there."

Callie nodded at bailey and then turned to Addison who has sat up since Bailey came in.

"Are you going to be okay Ads"

Addison nodded "Go do your stuff Torres"

After Callie got up and went into Merediths room Addison looked up at Bailey who was looking at her with a questioning look.

"So Montgomery are you going to tell me why you got a teary eyed over the site of an injured Grey. I mean aren't you meant to hate her. She's your ex husbands girlfriend."

"Ex" Addison sighed "She's his ex girlfriend"

"Addison Forbes Montgomery you have a crush on your ex husbands ex mistress."

"

What- I - I " Addison stuttered over her words and then sighed and looked at Bailey. "Im in love with her Miranda and i was so scared i would never get to tell her"

"Well i think now might be your chance" Just as she said this Callie walked out.

"She has a broken wrist and a fractured ankle. She wont bee able to walk on it for at least two weeks so i'll check it again then and i have put a cast on her wrist which will come of in 4 to 8 weeks but i will check it when i check her ankle. Now i think she is starting to wake up. Go get your girl Addie"

Addison looked up at Callie and blushed but nodded and got up to go into Merediths room.

Meredith had just woken up and was looking around the room in confusion.

"Hey Grey how you feeling" Addiosn pulled up a chair and sat down beside her whilst taking her left hand in hers as it wasn't broken.

"Dr Montgomery hi. What happened exactly?" Mereedith looked down at their interwined hands and blushed slightly.

"you were in a pile up on the freeway on your way to work. Cristina brought you in and bailey and Callie fixed you up. You were very lucky you didn'y need surgery but you do have a fractured ankle and broken wrist and have to stay here for at least a couple more days"

Meredith groaned " And im guessing even longer until i can work"

Addison chuckled "im afraid so Grey"

"Addison. Can i ask you a question?"

"Go for it Mer"

"why you? why are you here of all people i mean i know we are civil at work but you hate me and i don't blame you but why didnt you get somone else to come and tell me what had gone on"Meredith could see the internal battle going on inside Addisons head.

"Meredith i have beeen sat outside this room with Callie for the last 1 hour crying and praying you would be okay because i wouldn't have been able to live with myself knowing i never told you if you weren't"

Addison was crying now and meredith lifted her hand to wipe tears of Addisons cheeks. "Told me what Addie"

Addison smiled at the nickname Meredith had used and decided it was now or never. "i'm inlove with you Meredith i have been for a while and i know you don't feel the same way but i just had to tell you. I'll go now"

Do you now?"

"what" Addison was slighty confused at what Meredith had just said and stopped in her tracks.

"Do you know i don't feel the same way"

Addison complety froze and almost in a whisper said "What"

"I feel the same way Addie i have for a long time and i wished we had told each other sooner because it has been killing me for so long."

With that Addison leaned forward and kissed Meredith like she had never been kissed before. "You love me" Meredith nodded " oh god i love you too so so much"

"Stay with me. I hate hospitals I don't want to be alone"
Addison nodded and went to sit at the chair next to her bed but Meredith shook her head and moved over on the bed before tapping the spot she was previously in.
