Author's Note: Hey, everybody! In honor of Valentine's Day, I decided to post this fluffy little story. (Not that I haven't done it before :) lol.) Enjoy!

Runnin' Home to You

"Katherine… Wake up, Kath."

She slowly opened her eyes to see sunlight filtering through the windows.

"What time is it, Jack?"

He grinned, his hands behind his back. "Seven."

"Ugh." Katherine burrowed deeply under the covers. "So early…"

"Does you know what day it is?"

"A Monday…"

"No…" Jack, much to Katherine's surprise, pulled a guitar from behind his back. "It's Valentine's Day!"

Katherine perked a bit, and sat up. "And do you, good sir, plan to serenade me?"

"Somethin' like that," Jack smiled, gingerly sitting himself on the bed. He positioned his smooth guitar in his arms, plucking a few strings to ensure it was tuned.

"I'm excited," Katherine admitted, her cheeks rosy.

Jack closed the gap between them and pressed a kiss to her lips. "I'm excited you's excited." he smiled.

He placed his fingers on the correct spots, then began to strum a beautiful tune.

Katherine's brows furrowed- it sounded familiar, but she wasn't exactly sure what the song was.

She melted as Jack began to sing, and his gorgeous voice floated through the air:

"Can't say how the days will unfold

Can't change what the future may hold

But I want you in it

Every hour

Every minute."

Katherine teared up. "Jack."

"This world can race by far too fast

Hard to see while it's all flyin' past

But it's clear now

When you're standing here now

I am meant to be wherever you are next to me.

All I wanna do

Is come runnin' home to you

Come runnin' home to you

And all my life I promise to

Keep runnin' home to you

Keep runnin' home… To you."

As Jack's fingers played different chords, Katherine scooted closer to him- as close as she could get without hindering his lovely guitar skills.

"And I could see it right from the start

Right from the start

That you would be, be my light in the dark

Light in the dark

Oh, you gave me no other choice

But to love you."

Jack paused for a moment, sniffling as his eyes watered.

"All I wanna do

Is come runnin' home to you

Come runnin' home to you

And all my life I promise to

Keep runnin' home to you

Keep runnin' home…

Home to you."

At this point, both Jack and Katherine were gazing at each other, tears of love for each other and disbelief at the passed time rushing down their faces.

"Can't say how the days will unfold

Can't change what the future may hold

But I want you in it

Every hour

Every minute."

Jack strummed a final chord to end the song, then whispered, "Happy Valentine's Day, Ace."

She swiped at her leaky eyes, then breathed, "Happy Valentine's Day, baby." Katherine giggled. "Now, move that guitar so I can be closer to you!"

Jack smiled, carefully setting the instrument aside.

Katherine lunged into his arms, wrapping her own around his neck. "I love you."

"I loves you too."

"To the moon and back?"

"To the moon and back and then some more."

Katherine pecked his lips. "And I you, sweetheart."

Jack smoothed her waterfall of curls beneath his hand. "Kath, I's just wantcha to know that ev'ry single lyric I sang is true of me, and hows I feels 'bout you."

"I know." she cleared a runaway curl from his eye.

"I's got the best date planned for tonight," Jack gushed happily.

"I can't wait." Katherine slowly rested her head on his shoulder. "Jackie?"

"Yes?"

"Today is our twentieth Valentine's Day together."

"Wow," Jack breathed. "It is, isn't it?"

"Can you sing that song on our fiftieth Valentine's Day?"

"For you, Kath," Jack whispered, "I'd sing it ev'ry Valentine's Day."

"Have I ever told you that you're my angel?" Katherine asked, now stroking Jack's back beneath her palms.

"Maybe." Jack giggled.

"Without you, Jack, I wouldn't be here today."

He let that sink in for a long second, then responded by saying, "And without you, I wouldn't be here today. Thank you, Katherine."

"Of course, my baby. And thank you, Jack."

"I wants to run home to you for the rest of my life, Ace."

"Me, too."
