"What is Eric doing here?" Sookie screeches, interrupting my thoughts. Well clearing this will not start out well. I stand to my full height. Eric does to beside me holding Deme in his arms. I can tell Eric is getting ready to protect both Deme and I, from any harm.

"Sookie!" Adele scolds her. "Who is this?"

"This is Eric, Adele" I tell her "My soul mate." I say proudly. I puff out my chest a bit.

"You finally found your soul mate?" Adele says standing up.

"I did" I tell her. She comes over and gives me a big hug. She always makes sure she's only touching fabric. I haven't gotten the chance to tell Eric about my power yet.

"Welcome to the family, Eric" Adele tells him.

"Thank you, Mrs. Stackhouse." He tells her.

"Please call me Adele." She tells him.

"Gran!" Sookie scolds "Why are you allowing this monster into the house?"

"Sookie, this is Charlotte's soul mate." Adele tells her.

"No, he is manipulating her. Or she is manipulating him." Sookie says. Bill is just sitting quietly at the table. He seems to be just watching what is going on. I bet he doesn't want to say anything because clearly Eric is his superior.

"I would never hurt my soul mate." Eric defends himself.

"I have been waiting for Eric my whole life why can't you be happy for me?" I ask Sookie.

"Your lying. You don't have a soul mate mark. You never have." Sookie says

"Sookie!" Adele yells at her. "How could you say that about her? She would never lie about something like that. I changed her diapers I would know that Eric was on her hip. It's been there since she was born." Adele explains to her.

"I don't know what you did to turn my gran against me but get the fuck out." Sookie says "Eric I rescind your invitation."

Eric goes flying out the door. "Sookie!" Gran yells again "Eric, you can come in." She invites. "This is my house. If you can't follow my rules you can leave." She tells Sookie.

"Fine I will stay with Bill" Sookie says grabbing Bills hand and storms out the door.

"What was that all about?" Eric asks

"Sookie has never liked me, even when we were kids." I tell him. "I also have something to tell you." We both take a seat at the table. Adele sits with us and holds my glove covered hand to show me support.

"What is it?" Eric asks concerned.

"I have a power like Sookie. I can see your past and the path you are on for your future, if I touch you." I tell him looking down at the table. He takes my other glove covered hand. He holds it tight.

"I will care about you no matter what. But what about sex?" He asks.

"With that I think I am no longer needed here" Adele says standing up and leaving the kitchen. I think she is heading to her room. Deme is just lying on the floor next to us.

"Can you see animals futures?" He ask

"I can see it with dogs only, so far." I tell him. "As for sex I have never had it."

"Really?" He looks shocked "You're a virgin?"

"I am, I never tried with my power." I tell him "I do know if I have seen your past then I don't see it again, so it might be the same for your future. If I am touching you regularly then your future probably won't change that much to the point where I will always see it. I have never tried it though."

"Alright maybe we should try it." He says putting his hand on the table face up.

"I have never tried on a vampire. I have a lot of past to see," I tell him.

"What is it like?" He asks

"It's like watching something on fast forward. It is very quick. When I was younger, I had trouble keeping up with all the video flashed in front of my face. It was all a blur. But as time went on, I was able to figure it out. I was able to realize that the less I panic the easier it is to just stop and watch. I may not completely enjoy my power, but I also don't have the double-edged sword that most powered people get." I explain to him

"Double-edged sword?"

"Yes, the sword of not liking your power, but not being able to live without it. with these gloves I have learned to live my life without my power. Sookie has trouble when her power doesn't work. She tends to resent those who she can't read." I tell him

"She can't read you?" Eric asks. He seems to be asking a lot of questions. I think that is a good thing. Hopefully it will help him accept or at the vert least get used to it being around.

"No, Sookie has never been able to read my thought." I tell him "It's probably a good thing. Especially when I am reading someone. I can find out a lot of secrets that she won't. I also don't get headaches from all the information crammed into my brain in a hurry. She wouldn't be, so she would always get headaches."

"You get headaches?"

"Sometimes, not so much anymore. More so when I was younger."

"What would cause one now?"

"Probably if I were to read you. All those lifetimes all in the past and then all those lifetimes in the future. If you have a long future ahead on you. It might take me a few days for the headache to go away. But like I said I haven't tried to read a vampire."

"Alright, I am 1000 years old. With that knowledge would you like to read me still and test out your theories?" Eric asks

"I would love to, but I would need a few days to relax." I tell him.

"Well since it is a few hours from daytime I imagine you will sleep all day. I will come back in the night and look after Adele, Demetrius and you." Eric suggests

"Sounds good." I tell him as I take off the glove on my left hand and reach out to his. My hand touches his skin to skin.
