We both head to the bar. Eric and I sit down I put Draco in my lap so he doesn't distract Eric.
"I admire you, Bill. It takes a real vampire to admit that he cannot protect his human." Eric mocks.
"And it takes a true monster to not care about anyone or anything other than himself." Bill comes back with.
"Get a new insult, Bill" I say
"I care about others," Eric says.
"You care about Godric. You have no obligations to Dallas or Texas. This is personal for you. Why?" Bill asks. Now he gets to the information he really wants.
"I hope you'll enjoy your blood substitute, which is costing me $45." Eric says avoiding the question. He won't ever tell Bill that Godric is his maker. That is just too risky right now.
"I have no intention of drinking it, I just wanted you to pay for it." Bill says smirking.
"That's childish. Pass it here Draco can drink it." I say.
"You're so mature" Eric says to Bill then turns to me. "I will not have my son drinking that garbage." He is such a drama king. I know Draco will have no issues drinking it.
"Answer the question." Bill demands. "Why this allegiance to Godric?"
"He's beloved by his subjects." Eric says.
"Only kings and queens have subjects, Eric, not sheriff's" Bill points out.
"Godric could have been king of Texas had he wanted. He could have been king of any vampire territory anywhere. He is twice as old as I am and very powerful. There are none above him in the new world." Eric says.
"Well, if he's so powerful, how could they abduct him?" Bill asks sceptically.
"Now, that is what worries me. If one such as he can be taken by humans, then none of us are safe." Eric says looking at Draco and I worried. I know he is worried about all our safety including Godric's.
"What can I give you to release Sookie from her agreement?" Bill asks.
"Nothing, Sookie made this agreement not you Bill. You need to know your place." I tell him getting fed up with his behaviour. He is acting more childish then Draco. I am tempted to put him in a time out.
"As my wife says nothing, since you like humans so much, I think you would want to protect them. The vampires here, they're like cowboys if they don't get Godric back, you'll want justice. They'll start attacking people." Eric explains.
"Open aggression against humans? That's insane." Bill says. Not that he wasn't doing that about a century ago.
"Well, it's Texas." Eric says.
Eric takes us to our room so we can sleep for the day. I feel like I have been awake for way too long. I'm not used to having to be awake all day and all night. So, we put Draco down to play with some of his toys beside the bed. Eric pulls me on to his chest then puts on Murdoch Mysteries knowing it's my favourite show. I watch it till I fall asleep knowing that Eric will get up to look after Draco when he needs it.
The next night we wake up and head to Godric's nest with Bill and Sookie. I could have gone without the car ride with them, but that isn't my choice.
"You should have told me Eric hired a fucking human. Isabel" Stan yells. I am holding Draco. I am so glad he has headphones on and is playing his games on the tablet. I do not want him paying attention to this.
"Now, wait just a minute." Sookie says, getting involved in something she probably should stay out of. It seems like a theme for her.
"Respect her." Bill demands.
"Thank you." Sookie says.
"I couldn't tell you, Stan. You've been off on your own for days." Isabel explains.
"Are you certain Godric was abducted by the Followship of the Sun?" Eric asks.
"Yes," Stan says
"No," Isabel says at the same time.
"They're the only ones with the organization and the manpower." Stan explains his reasoning.
"But they're amateurs. It doesn't make nay sense. This is Godric we are talking about, 2,000 years old." Isabel explains her reasoning.
I personally think Godric offered himself to the Followship of the Sun with his depression I think he was not thinking clearly and hoping to end it all. I think he was hoping this would help them see he is not evil. I really do hope that is not the case, but I really think it is.
"Old doesn't make you smart." Stan says.
"Besides, there's no proof." Isabel states.
"If they've got him, I'll hear it. That's my job." Sookie advertises her power again.
"There's no reason to wait. We need to take there fanatics down. Full-out attack. Exterminate them like the vermin they are and leave no trace." Stan says ignoring Sookie.
"Hum. Vampire-hating church annihilated. Wonder who did it? Fucking brilliant." Isabel says losing her temper.
"I doubt the King of Texas would approve the destruction of our international political agenda." Bill states politically. Who knew he could actually be political? Maybe there is hope after all.
"Fuck that." Stan says, "The great revelation is the biggest mistake we ever made."
"Don't use Godric to make your own power play, Stan." I say.
"You're completely incompetent!" Eric yells losing his temper. He turns to me. "What's happened to Godric is that he surrounds himself with clowns." He tells me.
"We invited you as a courtesy. This is not your territory. You have no voice here." Isabel says to Eric.
"Yeah, sheriff. Why don't you run on back to Louisiana. We don't need you or your puppets." Stan says.
"Oh, I'm not going anywhere." Eric says.
"And I'm nobody's puppet." Sookie butts in.
"No one asked you Sookie." I hiss at her tired of her crap.
"What we need is a plan." Bill says trying to defuse the situation.
"I have a plan." Stan says.
"That's not a plan." Isabel says.
"I actually think that is a plot to a movie." I tell her.
"It's not a movie, it's a war." Stan says trying to argue with me. Eric puts his head in my hair.
"Idiots." He says into my hair. Clearly very frustrated.
"We take them all out at once. Pre-emptive strike." Stan offers.
"Of course, so the federal government can bomb us back to the Middle Ages." Isabel says.
"Things were better then." Stan says.
"You weren't alive then, Stan." I say.
"Then go to Romania and live in a cave, you ranchero poser." Isabel says. Oh, we are now name calling. I can feel Eric start to shake. He walks over to a vase and throws it breaking it. They all go quiet, and Draco starts crying. Eric domes over and takes him rocking him back and forth. Still very upset.
"Godric has protected you, made you rich, and you stand here spitting and scratching like infants." He tells them.
"Don't any of you care that there's a traitor in your midst?" I ask suddenly remembering Sookie's attack at the airport.
"No," Stan says.
"Impossible." Isabel says in disbelief.
"Someone tried to kidnap me from the airport." Sookie inputs. Like they will care that she was kidnapped. I was more talking about the breech of information. That is a big deal.
"You were the only one's who knew she was coming." Bill states.
"Explain." Eric says to Stan and Isabel.
"Unless it was you." Isabel and Stan say at the same time.
"Look, if y'all argue any more, I'll either fall asleep or start screaming, so this is what we're gonna do, I will infiltrate the Fellowship of the Sun." Sookie says.
"Absolutely not." Bill states. Just when I thought there was hope for you Bill. You go and dash it.
"Let her speak." Eric says wanting to hear her plan.
"Since Bill glamoured the kidnapper, no one knows who I am. I'll pretend to join the church and check out their thoughts." Sookie keeps going.
"No. during the day, none of us can help you." Bill says.
"Nova can come with me. Really Bill, it's simple." Sookie says.
"Waste of time when we could drink them all. I want no part of this." Stan leaves the room. Probably a good thing he does.
"No, Nova will not be going." Eric says.
"You are willing to put my human at risk but not your own." Bill says.
"You seem to forget my so-called human is not only my wife, but not a human at all. She is a witch. They will kill her the moment they find out what she is." He says agitated. Draco has finally calm down but is getting fidgety sensing his fathers' agitation.
"There is no easier way to find out if they're involved." Isabel says.
"I will be fine, Eric. I know how to hide what I am."
"If it leads us to Godric, we'll do it. the decision is made." Eric says clearly not happy about the outcome, but still wanting to find Godric.
"A few words." Bill says to Eric. Eric takes my hand and leads me to the corner with Bill and him. just as we head over I hear Isabel ask Sookie how her human-vampire relationship is going. "You knew it would come to think. She was just clawed and poisoned by a creature we don't know, and we can't find, and now, in Dallas, you're playing with her life."
"It's no game to me. My wife's life is on the line as well. Her life is more at risk the Sookie's." Eric says.
"All this for a colleague? For the Sheriff of Area Nine? Why?" Bill asks.
Eric gets lost in thought then whispers out. "Godric is my maker."
Bill looks shocked and walks away speechless. He goes back to Sookie.
"Are you okay my love?" I ask him.
"I could be so much better knowing you were going to be safe all day." Eric says. "Why would you be okay with this? We have a son to think about."
"Because I know you will come save me no matter what. You will protect me just like you always have. You have protected me since our vows, and you will continue to do so till the day you meet true death." I tell him.
"But what about our son, Draco?" He asks.
"What about him?" I ask in return.
"What if you don't come back? What if they kill you?"
"Then you will raise Draco with Godric. You and he will raise Draco into an amazing vampire who is fair and just. Draco will grow up knowing that his mom did die to protect his family. She died for the one thing we try to teach him everyday. We try to tell him how important family is. Now he will get to see it. he will get to see me go and fight for grandpa." I tell him passionately.
I know if I die Godric will feel guilty. I do hope he will stay alive for me to raise Draco, knowing that is what I want. Only time shall tell.
"Alright, I guess I am okay with that." Eric says giving in knowing there is no use in us fighting.
We head back to the hotel. Isabel offers to look after Draco for the night. I know Eric wants some time alone with me, so I take her up on the offer. I know she will take good care of him. She told me once that she had always wanted kids. I did tell her to adopt a supernatural child. There are so many without parents who would love a home. I have brought this up with Eric. He said we could talk about it later down the road when we are empty nesters.
We get back to the hotel and Eric drags me right to the bed removing my clothes just as fast and sliding himself I me. I moan and he sighs. I know he needed this. He makes love to me. We both cum together and he holds me till I fall asleep.
