Chapter 2 – A new Beginning

The Olympic council watched in shock as their twice savior was banished. Most couldn't believe it. Poseidon sat on his throne sobbing after what had come to his son. Hestia stepped off her throne to tend with the hearth. Hope in Olympus was gone. "How could Percy do this?" This question resinated with most of the council. Athena looked over the orange, ever changing flames of the hearth. She replayed the scene in her head.

"Rape, Rape" the words pierced though her cold and calculating mind. Someone was in trouble. As suddenly as the words appeared to her, Athena flashed to the source. Materializing into Annabeth's bedroom. She froze in confusion at the scene in front of her. Annabeth lay on the ground with Percy with in the door way. She studied her daughter's boyfriend. His face was blank, emotionless. The wisdom goddess looked into his eyes. A lone tear fell from his sea green eyes, a prisoner escaping. A flash of emotion surpassed his emotional mask. It was fast but slow enough for Athena to recognize, heart break. "Oh thank gods you're here," Annabeth jumped onto her mother. "He tried to rape me," Annabeth exclaimed pointing towards Percy. Athena, wide eyed, stared at Percy awaiting a response. "It's true," Those words forever changed the demigod's life.

The Pit

Percy fell into the pit, still bound by his chains. He knew the dangers and misfortune the pit brought to anyone who was unlucky enough to fall in. He continued to fall, reaching terminal velocity.

He was surrounded by darkness. Black ink like paste covered the walls of the pit, giving off a smell of tar and smoke. Slowly pressure built around him. A force pressing down on every bone on his body. Masses of trucks piled on top of the broken hero. Percy was not surprised by the force, but expected it. He had experienced it before, when he was fighting Gaia or Kronos. This was evil, in it's purest form. Tartarus was the home of all evil. The home of every monster, Titan and creatures even the gods don't know about. Percy was about to find himself in the middle of it.

After a while Percy noticed his sweat clump it's self onto his arms. The temperature was increasing and it was going up fast. Soon the tunnel to the pit become lighter. He was getting closer. Closer to the evils. Closer to the lava and heat. Closer to the environment of demise that even scared the gods. But most of all he was closer to a new life.

In the tunnel Percy had time. Time to think over his decisions, over her decision. His heart has been broken, scattered to pieces. When Annabeth cheated on him his whole life had stopped. It became worse with the added knowledge of her accusing him of rape. He wanted to leave her but his fatal flaw stopped him. No matter how hard he tried he could abandon her. He was too loyal. He wanted change, wanted a new life. Percy decided to go along with the rape changes. He knew the gods wouldn't kill him, not after what he had done for them. Pain still held his heart hostage.

The image of Tartarus started to appear below him. The image grew closer and closer until the once hero of Olympus enter the primordial's domain. The hero fall to the ground with a sharp pain.

Poisonous red gas polluted the rocky landscape. Clouds could be seen forming with in the sky. A fog so huge you would doubt a cave ceiling awaited beyond. Beneath, life awaited. The creatures found here were not happy, charming nor nice. But horrible and darkened. The landscape shared similar qualities. Sharp rock made from black glossy material grew from the hard, dry ground. Many plants had developed within the environment. Grass and trees stained with purple populated the region. The trees were contoured in multiple ways, each one being different from the rest. This was one of the many different landscapes the pit offered.

Amongst the different contours of the ground lay a body. The man's head rest against the cracks in the ground. Next to the man lay a leg, his leg. It was disconnected from his body. His left arm and lung shared the same attribute. Percy Jackson was dead.
