-Teaser-
Arkantos stood in front of the crumbling two hundred foot tall statue of Poseidon, it's stone body quickly fell apart in chunks that thudded to the ground with loud booming crashes.
"NO!" Gargarensis screamed out in fear seeing his final weapon being obliterated by Arkantos the demigod's spear.
Falling from the destroyed hand of the massive statue was the golden trident of Poseidon. It fell from it's perch in the right hand of the statue and skewered the body of Gargarensis, his stomach and his chest were pierced by the spear. However, Gargarensis was granted a resilient body by the titan Kronos, so he did not die instantly. Instead, he pretended to be dead, trying to fool the demigod.
Arkantos, ever cautious, walked over to his spear that had fallen to the ground. He picked it up, walking over to the cyclops and raised it high. The lightning blessed by Zeus flowed through him and the spear empowering him far beyond any mortal in history.
GONG
The loud reverberating sound like a struck gong broke out from the ground below Arkantos and a wide black portal of energy sucked him in, leaving nothing but black smoke upon where he once stood. The massive two hundred and fifty foot trident was coated in a black energy and was pulled out of the giant cyclops and tossed miles away by the power of Kronos who was beginning to escape from Tartarus.
Spit out into a dark cavern, Arkantos rolled with the momentum and slowed his entry into the cavern, eventually rolling to a stop, the spear of Zeus firmly in his right hand. It seemed that he had fully absorbed the blessing of Zeus, fully becoming a demigod. Lightning crackled in an aura around his body, lighting up the local vicinity with a flickering bluish white light.
"Where in the name of Zeus am I?" Arkantos asked aloud, looking around himself. The walls weren't specifically poorly cut, and it didn't look or feel like the underworld. However, he was certain that whatever sorcery sent him here was clearly the doing of Kronos.
"I must find my way out of here and return to Atlantis. First, I have to get out of these caves" He said as he gathered his thoughts. Then, a group of voices sounded next to him on his right.
"Arkantos!" One man called to the demigod. "Where is this?", "Where are we?" The others asked, looking around at the cavern they resided in at the moment. They were all armed with spears, blue and gold armor and hoplons with the symbol of Atlantis, the trident.
"Hoplites! Our next goal is to make our way out of these caves. Follow me if you want to make it out" Arkantos commanded, and the men immediately fell into formation behind him. All six formed rows of two and followed the Admiral and Demigod.
Arkantos picked the upward route and they made their way through hallways for half an hour before coming to a stairway carved into the wall.
Arkantos was the first to climb it, holding his spear in a tight grip, making sure he was ready for any form of trap or ambush. When they made their way up the stairs, they were greeted by another series of hallways. This time they were attacked by various small green creatures armed with crude and useless weapons.
The hoplites, who were all heavy infantry easily took care of the feeble attackers who burst into black and purple smoke, leaving behind only small purple stones that were of no interest to Arkantos and his men.
Eventually hearing voices ahead, Arkantos signaled to his soldiers to stop, raising his hand up signaling them to halt. Sure enough, walking through a nearby hall were a group of young men and women all armed with shabby bronze weapons, and poorly made armor. They looked unfit to be in a battle and undisciplined. They did not walk in file, nor did they seem very aware of their situation, only noticing Arkantos and his men mere meters away.
Granted, the light was poor and Arkantos had suppressed his aura of lightning, still, this was a place where a poorly trained group could meet their end.
"Greetings" Arkantos greeted the party, who consisted of two light skinned men looking to be in their late teens, maybe early twenties, three young women in their mid teens to mid twenties. All of them were either melee fighters with swords and axes, but one of the girls held a crossbow with a bolt rack placed in the knock.
Seeing the pristine soldiers and commanding presence of Arkantos, the weaker party greeted them respectfully.
The man in the front greeted them back. He had short red hair and thin eyes. His group was nothing to write home about but he and his partners were fairly well fed and not emaciated meaning that a village or city was nearby.
"Greetings. We'll get out of your way. I wouldn't want to stop you from making your way up to the exit" The man said looking back down the hallway from where they came and moving to the side while signaling to the group to get out of the way of the Atlantean forces.
Arkantos frowned then spoke.
"My men and I are weary from all the fighting we have had today, perhaps you can lead us back to the exit to ensure our safety. We will be sure to pay you back for your generosity" Arkantos offered. Seeing the high grade armor and weapons the soldiers and Arkantos wore, the adventurers assumed they were from a prosperous Familia and accepted the offer.
The group discussed it for a moment before coming to a conclusion.
"Very well, we accept. I'm Erik, and these are the Skadi Familia members I work with. Let's go. No need to keep waiting" Erik said and fell in the side of the Atlantean formation, bringing the soldiers to the surface in less than an hour.
At the surface, The two groups departed but not before Arkantos gave Erik his name and told him to look for him in the one of the higher end inns if he needed him.
And such, the adventure of Arkantos and his followers began in Orario.
