Raven was in an uncharacteristically good mood. She was even humming to herself as she waited for the elevator to take her to the kitchen/family room. As walked towards her destination, she noticed that the tower was very quiet and felt somewhat calm. That meant that it was just the perfect time for tea. When she entered the kitchen, she spotted the rest of her teammates going about their hobbies peacefully enough. They simply turned towards her before returning to whatever it was they were doing.

Robin was trying to teach Starfire chess and failing miserably. Beast Boy and Cyborg were playing video games, in a reasonable manner even. They had matured enough that they no longer felt the need to blast their eardrums with the obnoxious noise turned to 100. As she reached out for her chamomile tea, she felt that the day was turning out to be very idyllic, too idyllic.

Will she stared at the boiling kettle, she could feel in the background very strange occurrences. She no longer heard the muted noise of the television. Starfire and Robin had also stopped their small talk and were simply staring at each other. Something was very wrong. Just as the cry of the kettle sounded out, she went about making her tea as normally as possible. However, when she looked like she was about to grab her cup to go sit down, she instantly tried to phase through the floor but failed. They had set up defenses against her!

She rushed to the door, as she knew the emergency code to forcefully open it. What stood between her and her escape route felt like the longest 20 ft. of her life. As she tried to input the code to the door, Starfire and Cyborg lasered the edges until they were slightly melted. Before she could gather her magic tendrils to try and pry the door open, Robin reached out to stop. She was trapped.

"You can't do this to me! It isn't right."

As the four other members of the team she thought of as family surrounded her, she felt helpless. She knew that if she had any hope of escaping what was to come, she needed to aim for the weakest link. She would attack Beast Boy first, as he was currently covered in bandages and had a cast on his arm. He wouldn't stand a chance against her, then she would-

"(sigh) Raven, you know that we don't like this any more than you do but it needs to happen."

"Yes, friend Raven. Things cannot go on as they are!"

"Rae, you're like a baby sister to me, you know that. So it pains me to say that. . . this is an intervention."

—-

The Teen Titans were sitting in the family room, as the four of them faced their local empath. They had called an intervention because she had been acting very strange for a while now and she had not come to them for help or advice. They knew that Raven never liked disclosing personal information or asking for help but they also knew that letting her go on by herself could endanger the entire city. So, despite not liking anymore than she did, they were forced to make Raven have an intervention. The first one in line was Cyborg.

"Rae, I know that we cannot possibly understand many of the problems you go through because of your powers but you have to know that we love you and that we're here to help you. You just have to let us in." - Cy

"Uuuuhhhh, make it stop." -Rae

"Look, you can either listen to Cyborg 'til the end, or we can just go straight to Starfire." - Rob

The young alien princess could be seen teary eyed as she held onto stacks upon stacks of papers filled with Tamaranean poetry about friendship. Admitting defeat, she continued to listen.

"Raven, if you want we can get straight to the point." - Rob

"Please, anything to make this end quicker." - Rae

"Fine, just remember you asked for this." - Cy

"Raven, the main concern that we have is that in the last few months, you have become far more proficient with your powers and have become increasingly aggressive. We need to know if the powers or aggression are coming from . . . an external source." - Rob

"Oh, come on. I have not been that. ." - Rae

"Exhibits A through F." - Cy

Then Cyborg brought up six different recordings of Raven's fights in the last couple of months. She was overly violent towards the villains that she didn't like, like constantly slamming Control Freak against a wall. She was also seen being almost bored fighting the more mundane villains, like the Hive, and looking very uninterested. It was obvious that her main goal was not to capture them in a professional manner.

"Ok, say I have to control my temper a little more. I can just try to meditate a little is not so bad to force an intervention, is it?" - Rae

"Oh no, those were just examples of your power increasing. These are examples of you being overly aggressive. Exhibits G through Z." - Rob

20 different videos began to play at the same time, and each of them showcased exactly what they were talking about. There were two things that every one of the videos had in common, they included Raven and Beast Boy, and they showed Raven attacking Beast Boy for even the slightest of transgressions.

In one video, Beast Boy burped at the dinner table and she slapped the back of his head. In the next one, he forgot to buy milk that wasn't almond or soy milk, which had Raven throw him out a window. In the one after that one, similar patterns could be spotted. Chewing with his mouth open, not showering enough, being somewhat rude, playing stunk-ball, saying particularly bad jokes, and many other things would cause Raven to go after the green changeling. In the last video, Beast Boy could be seen being covered with bandages and trying to slowly sneak into the family room in the middle of the night. He turned on the television to watch a dumb comedy and was trying his hardest not to laugh. After only chuckling once, he panicked and looked around for danger. Seeing he was still in the clear he chuckled a few more times before a particularly good punchline got to him and made him laugh a little louder. This immediately caused a disembodied hand to appear above him, smacking him.

Raven finally turned to the green elephant in the room. She knew that she had been unfair to Beast Boy and that he was being very forgiving. He had been the only one to not say a thing throughout the whole intervention. He was just looking at her angrily as he tapped his foot. She knew she was the reason he was covered in bandages.

"So what do you have to say about that?" - Rob

"I'm sorry, Gar?"

She knew she was being unfair yet again. She only ever used his nickname when she really messed up and had really messed up. She even gave him a small pout. Beast Boy, for his part, put a hand on his chin to think about. About a second later, he happily smiled at her and took off all his bandages.

"Don't worry about it Rae. It's all trees under the bridge, hahaha." -BB

"That's not the right. . .(sigh) whatever. My main concern wasn't whether or not Beast Boy would forgive you, he always does, my main concern was why you were acting in this way to begin with. Now, I really don't want to have to do this, but am I going to have to order you to tell us?" - Rob

"No, that's okay. You guys were right to worry because something is happening but since I didn't know how serious it would be yet, I didn't want you guys to panic." - Rae

"Does it have to do with Trigon? Is he coming back?" - Rob

"Yes and no. It does have to do with Trigon but it in the sense that it is caused by his absence. You guys have to know that the whole situation with prophecies is a pretty much done deal to demons. They are not easy things to break so when most demons found out that Trigon had claimed Earth through one, they gave up trying to take it over. Now that it has failed and Trigon won't be recovering for the next few centuries, a power struggle within the demonic realms is starting." - Rae

"Wait, are you serious? Isn't that sort of a very big deal? Why didn't you tell us about it earlier? What does that have to do with you acting so weird." - Cy

"So here is the part that has to do with me. With Trigon's influence gone from within me, my body is free to receive power from the more traditional sources that demons have available to them. Things like worshiping a demon can strengthen them, which is why they all try to start cults and stuff." - Rae

"There are people out there who worship you?" - Rob

"You're telling me that there is a cult of Raven out there? Can you really blame them, though? Hahah- ouch." - BB

Raven hit Beast Boy for making light of the situation while everyone else tried to figure out how to deal with it. They knew that Raven's unique physiology presented her with special problems but they hadn't known the extent it reached. They would have to consult other magical experts on it.

"So I know it sounds extreme but worship can amount to just really liking someone from afar. Even small amounts of energy from a few thousand people can make an obvious difference within a person like me, who had never had to deal with it before. That's why I am being extra aggressive, because I just have so much extra energy flowing through me that I don't really know how to handle." - Rae

"I see. Well, I also want to hear more about the other demonic forces that we might face from now on. I hadn't picked up anything recently so I wasn't even aware that it might be a problem." - Rob

"That's because it might not be a problem for a while. The heavy hitters may take a few decades to decide if the Earth is worth the trouble of allocating resources so at most, we would be dealing with the demonic equivalents of pickpockets and muggers. It would be nothing close to the threat presented by Trigon. We'll be seeing more ghosts, werewolves, and vampires, though." - Rae

"What! Ghosts are real?!" - BB

"Beast Boy, you've been to the plane of Perdition in Hell, of course ghosts are real."- Rae

"Oh, yeah. Ok, but werewolves are -" - BB

"You can turn into every animal in the world! Why would you be worried about werewolves?" - Rae

"Rae, you're not getting the point! These guys are the ones we make scary movies and stories about. You can't tell me that they don't freak you out just a little bit." - BB

As they continued to argue, Robin couldn't help but feel that he was missing something important. It seemed like Raven had explained herself well enough. She had covered nearly everything they were worried about but he wasn't so easily distracted by the talk of ghouls and goblins. He, however, continued to watch silently as Beast Boy tried to retell his best ghost stories to scare Raven, to little effect. The most he could do was make Starfire slowly squeeze Cyborg to death in terror.

Hooded figures gathered in the woods in the middle of Jump city park. It was in the very early hours of the morning, sometime even before dawn. Over a dozen silhouettes carried offerings before a black, feathery idol that depicted a beautiful fallen angel. The biggest of the hooded figures stood ahead of the crowd but before it could speak, helicopter lights blinded them. They tried to make a break for it but they were quickly surrounded and apprehended.

"You guys are bunch Nazis, man!"

"We will not be silenced!"

The JCPD was taking in the last of Raven's fan club that refused to stop meeting despite repeated warnings. Most of the depictions of Raven had been taken down and her every tv appearance censored or canceled. Most people were curious as to why they were doing such a thing, but still cooperated. Only her most fervent fans refused to give up on celebrating their favorite heroine.

"Beast Boy, you traitor! You got us good man. I thought you were a true believer of the 'Thighdeology'!"- CF

"Control Freak, man, we asked you guys to stop for a couple of months! You just had to wait a little before it was ok again." - BB

"I don't feel like this was ever okay. Is that me with angel wings?" - Rae

"Yeah, we hired a guy that lives near the beach. He is a great, freelancing sculptor. He does amazing work. He took 3 months working on that piece alone." - BB

"Ok, I am equal parts creeped out and flattered." - Rae

"Oh cmon, you can't tell me that the fallen angel motif doesn't fit you to a 't'." - BB

"What's the 'Thighdeology' that he was talking about earlier about anyways?" - Rae

"Well, that's ah. . . nothing at all. Hahaha, don't worry about it, Rae." - BB

Before she could press her green teammate for more answers, their fearless leader approached them with a concerned face. It looked like he was done talking to the police captain.

"Hey, guys, I have some bad news. I need the two of you to go down to the station to check something out." - Rob

"Is it actually important or do I have to deal with more rabid fans?" - Rae

"No, it is actually important. It is just that it is also a bit sensitive. The cops had to be called because a little girl, a probable telepath or psychokinetic, was causing trouble. They don't really know how to deal with it so I am sending you both. You guys specialize in treating children and I or Cyborg might come off as too intimidating." - Rob

The two Titans received further instructions from the boy wonder and flew off in the direction of the station. They were in the central park so they didn't have to fly very far. When they landed, Raven tried to enter the building along with all the cops that were getting ready for the morning shift but stopped when she noticed that Beast Boy wasn't following her. He was just standing there, staring at the police station's entrance.

"Are you coming or what? Did you forget something?" - Rae

"Does the building look a little different to you?" - BB

Even though Raven was looking at him like he was crazy, he knew something was wrong. He could feel it. Beast Boy, for reasons he could not explain, was afraid of going into the building. His senses were telling him that it was a trap of some sort.

"Beast Boy, this isn't time for one of your dumb pranks. We have to go and talk to the kid before they hurt themselves. I don't sense anything out of the ordinary so if you think something is wrong, you're gonna have to be a little more specific." - Rae

"Right, sorry Rae. I think I just told one too many ghost stories yesterday. I might have just spooked myself." - BB

He didn't want to look like a scaredy cat in front of Raven, especially since they were walking into a police station of all places. They were surrounded by backup. It was a terrible place for an ambush. Yet, as they continued to walk inside, he felt that the lights on the ceiling weren't shining as bright as they should be. He felt like the whole place was covered in a thin, black film. He decided that he wouldn't leave Raven's side for anything, for her own protection, of course.

"Finally, thank God for you Titans. I don't know how we would deal with new beta-humans if you guys weren't around to cover for us. This one is extra troublesome." - Detective

"Detective, I assume you're talking about the new esper that you're detaining. Can you tell us anything about them?" - Rae

"She is very young, only 8. We don't know why but she went ballistic and destroyed much of her own room. It's why we were called. She doesn't seem to respond to anyone's voice, not even her parents. She is also extremely violent, which made it difficult to restrain her without hurting her. We are at our wit's end here." - Detective

"Maybe her mind is being overloaded by her new powers. It is not a strange thing to happen for new telepaths to lose control when surrounded by too many thoughts and emotions." - Rae

As the two continued to talk about the new case, Beast Boy kept becoming more and more nervous. He didn't understand why. Every hallway seemed to go on forever and every lamp casted a shadow that seemed to try to claw its way towards them. He could feel his heart beating faster and faster, becoming nearly deafening in his ears. It wasn't until they reached the final hallway that Beast Boy felt like they couldn't take a single step forward.

"Rave, we have to stop right now." - BB

The sudden interruption caught the detective by surprise but not Raven. She had been feeling his anxiety and fear growing ever since they entered the police station. She didn't know why Beast Boy was scared but she did know that the fear he was experiencing was real. She hadn't noticed anything wrong or even slightly strange since they entered but she knew better than to brush off his instincts. She gestured towards the detective to leave them alone and he simply shrugged while he walked away. Whatever could scare a Titan was way above his pay grade.

"Beast Boy, calm down. You have to tell me what you're experiencing. Why do we have to stop?" - Rae

"I don't know Rae. I just know that this place isn't right. I can't tell you why or how but I feel like if we go down this hallway, we ain't coming back out. It's like every animal in me is telling me to turn tail and run." - BB

"Hmm. Maybe the little girl is pushing her own feelings into you subconsciously. She is probably feeling frightened and alone as well. She might not only be a powerful telekinetic but a telepath as well." - Rae

"No, Raven, this is different. I have lived with psychics for most of my life. First with Mento and then with you. I know when someone is digging around in my head but this is different. I just. . . . Could we call back, just in case? Pretty please?" - BB

"(sigh) If you're that serious, would you feel better if I held your hand?" - Rae

After going completely red and hesitating for a second, Beast Boy sheepishly held out his hand so that Raven could take it. Since Beast Boy had been that sincere with his fear, it had put some doubt in her. She had been using her powers the entire time to sense the little girl. As far as she could tell, she just appeared to be a scared little girl. Yet, just in case, Raven secretly prepared several spells to shield them from the worst possible outcome. She had also decided that she wouldn't let her guard down until they were back at the tower. If it turned out to be nothing, she was never going to let him live this down.

With trembling hands, Beast Boy watched Raven slowly open the door to the room where the girl was being detained. He was ready to run for the hills until he saw the crying face of the scared child. She was handcuffed to the table and looked terrified at their approach. His superhero switch flipped and he rushed forward to protect her from whatever it was setting off his alarms.

"Hi there! Are you okay? Can you tell us your name? My name is Beast Boy. We are superheroes. Have you heard of us?" - BB

"(sniff) yeah. I. . . I've seen you on tv and stuff." - girl

"That's good! Listen, we are here to help so you don't have to worry anymore. You don't have to be scared." - BB

Raven was watching them interact. Before she had even closed the door, Beast Boy had hurried to the girl's side. She could see that even though Beast Boy's fear had not waned at all, he refused to make the little girl worry. He never stopped smiling. What she found strange, however, was that the girl's feelings weren't wavering at all. There had been no shock or surprise at seeing them. She had remained the same frightened and anxious person in her mind's eye since they entered the building. Children were bundles of emotion that changed moods by the second. That's right, children were.

Without a second thought, Raven launched Beast Boy out of the room through the open door. Using the spells she had prepared beforehand, she bound the little girl in white light. Hellish growls and screams could be heard coming from her mouth but no one watching could have reconciled the sight. After a few tense moments, the little girl stopped and was immediately put to sleep. Beast Boy was confused beyond belief.

"Raven, what the hell was that about!?" - BB

"That little girl was being possessed by a minor demon. This whole thing was a trap. Look at the walls of this place." - Rae

Beast Boy entered the detainment room once again and saw that there were glyphs written on the walls, ceiling, and floor. He knew that they hadn't been there the first time. The cops that had hurried to help after hearing the fighting were also completely confused.

"Your instincts were telling you about the danger we were walking into. That paint you see? That's blood from a sacrifice. This looks like a very desperate and expensive attempt at taking us down. We almost fell for it too. The girl should be fine now but we may need to look into her parents. They might be cultists." - Rae

"Raven, I have to tell you this with all the seriousness I can muster. I am so not cool with this." - BB
