Chapter 3:

The next morning Dean rolled over and came face to face with Kenzi; he grinned to himself as he pulled her right up against him prompting Kenzi to almost literally purr in contentment. She opened her eyes and gazed into his dark brown orbs; they were usually cold and full of fury but this morning they shone nothing but pure unadulterated love. He asked in a soft voice, "Did I win?"

She laughed as she said, "Babe you totally drank him under the table."

Dean chuckled as he pulled her tighter against him and said, "Baby I really could use your help huntin' this shapeshifter."

Kenzi was about to tell him she was no good at hunting until she realized he meant help with research and more importantly keep him from rushing headlong after it when they discovered where it was. She held him close as she said, "I'll keep you from doing anything too stupid or dangerous."

Then she said in a light voice, "I'll also do the research since you think your laptop is just for porn."

He objected. "I do plenty of research on my laptop it's not just for porn."

She laughed as he pulled her on top of him and began kissing her. soon the kisses turned into passionate live making.

Bo walked downstairs and heard the sounds from Kenzi's room and was very happy for her best friend/sister. She remembered that when she first met the brash and often mercurial acerbic hunter, she hadn't really liked him very much but after the way he and his father Bobby had assisted her in the battle with the Garuda she trusted them both implicitly and thought of them as family. She grinned to herself as she heard them both finish. A few minutes later while she was making breakfast a half-naked Dean joined her in the kitchen and poured a cup of coffee as he drawled, "Mornin' Bo."

She said the same to him as her eyes scanned heavily muscled/scarred upper body and knew exactly why Tamsin had it bad for him; from his 8-pack abs and well-defined pecks to his very broad shoulders and heavily muscled arms. He brushed his shaggy dark brown hair out of his eyes as he quipped, "You're droolin' sweetheart."

Bo punched him in the arm and said, "I was not."

Kenzi said lightly as she joined them, "You so were Bobelicious. Keep your magical ve jay jay away from my guy."

Bo was about to say something when Dr. Lauren Lewis walked in. She glared coldly at Dean as she said in a cold brittle voice, "I wasn't aware you had company. I'll come back."

And with that she left. Dean drained his coffee cup and ran after Lauren. He caught up with her just as she reached her car. He laid a hand on her shoulder and said in a soft gentle voice, "Doc; I'm so sorry for what-"

She shrugged his hand off her shoulder as she whirled around and laid into him, "You're sorry, you're sorry you killed my girlfriend of five years; just ran in in and put two bullets in her chest and you have the gall to stand there and tell me that you are sorry."

And with that she slapped him across the face and upon receiving no reaction slapped him several more times before dissolving in great wracking sobs. He wrapped her small frame in his powerful arms and holding her to his chest and let her vent her sadness, anger and grief. After several minutes she stepped out of his embrace and said, "I'm sorry for blaming you all this time; you were only protecting all of us from the Garuda.

Dean said as he wiped her tears away, "All I was trying to do was protect y'all. I really liked Nadia and it killed me to have to kill her."

Lauren thanked him as they returned to the Clubhouse.

Bobby was drinking a beer when Dean, Kenzi, Bo and Lauren entered the Dal. He raised his beer in their direction as Dean asked, "Has Hale sent those files over?"

Bobby was about to answer when a mousy looking blonde with glasses rushed and asked, "Uh which one of you is Dean Campbell?"

Dean got her attention and she hurried over to him and set the files beside him as she exclaimed in a voice full of awe and adoration, "Wow Dean Cambell you are so cute and heroic. Sure, you kill Fae but you only kill Dark Fae and other supernatural creatures that harm humans. I've heard you were cute but up close you are totally hot... I mean you're all muscley and manly looking. Do you have a girlfriend and if not do you want one because I 'm totally available and would love to be with you in any way you wanted."

Dean cast amused eyes at Kenzi; who while thought it was kind of cute felt that she needed to assert her claim and show that Dean was indeed taken. She walked over and wrapped her arm possessively around Dean's waist as she said in catty tone, "He's got a woman so you can go now buh-by."

The mousy blonde quickly made her meek apology and scurried off. Once she was gone Bo teased, "Dang put the claws away Kenz."

Kenzi defended herself as she pressed herself against Dean's side, "I had to claim my territorty."

Dean wrapped his arm around and squeezed as he asked, "So I belong to you now huh."

Kenzi looked up into his eyes as she replied, "Yup."

He chuckled as he drawled, "Well I guess the boss has spoken."

She said, "Damn right."

They all chuckled. Trick especially was happy to see that they hadn't let the Kitsune episode affect their relationship. He said as he got coffee and breakfast for them, "Let's see what we can learn about this shapeshifter."

They had been at it for well over three hours and Both Bobby and Trick could see that Dean and Bo were incredibly bored. They both chuckled as Bobby rumbled, "Both o y'all quit fidegitin' fore I shoot y'all."

Dean said as he grabbed his jacket, "Come on Bo let's get outta here an let these geeks do their research."

Trick looked up and said, "Yes maybe you could go talk to some of the vicrims."

Bo said, "Yea; I like that idea.

Dean spoke up, "Me too."

And with they walked outside hopped in Dean's car and sped away.
