Authors Notes: This deals specifically with the lore of the show (English Dub because that's all I had access to at the time) and not the games. So yes, it's hispanic Meta Knight. I tried to stay in as character as I could, and reading the story in the characters voices could improve the read for you. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own or claim to own anything related to Kirby, I only wrote the story.

Chapter 1

It was a warm day in Dreamland. There was a slight breeze and the sunlight stretched over the meadows and trees. The people down in the Cappy Town were enjoying the day. Little did they know that up in his castle, King Dedede was plotting.

He was on the balcony watching Kirby through a pair of binoculars with Escargoon standing beside him.

"I think he relies on pure, dumb luck! Look at him!" Dedede exclaimed as he watched Kirby chasing butterflies in a meadow. "That kid's got nothing in his head!"

"That's something you two have in common." Escargoon commented without thinking. He felt Dedede's silhouette looming over him and tried to backpedal frantically, "I didn't mean it, sire! I was only joking!"

The snail's pleas didn't save him from a hefty whack on the head from the king's hammer. King Dedede was in a particularly bad mood today as Kirby and his friends had thwarted his latest scheme of destroying Whispy Woods, and now his car needed repairs after it had crashed into a tree.

"It's just not fair! How come Kirby gets to hog all the good luck!" Dedede complained, looking through his binoculars again. Tiff and Tuff were calling to Kirby and Kirby bounced over to them cheerfully. He put down the binoculars and walked back inside the castle, saying, "You know what time it is, Escargoon?"

"But you just had lunch an hour ago, sire!" Escargoon replied.

"That's not what I meant, you numbskull!" King Dedede gave the snail a whack on the head. "I think it's about time for a new monster!"

They headed for the throne room to make a call.

"It's such a nice day out today!" Tiff exclaimed. She was holding a basket and looking up at the sky. The skies were clear and the air was warm. Kirby was running ahead excitedly and then doubling back, making happy "Poyu Poyu" sounds while he chased after the butterflies.

"Kirby sure likes those bugs!" Tuff replied, watching his pink friend jump up to try and catch a butterfly.

Tiff giggled, but called out, "Come on, Kirby! We're here to look for berries for Kawasaki, remember?"

Kirby went back to the group and they approached the edge of the woods looking for berry bushes.

"I remember seeing some bushes around here somewhere when we lost the soccer ball the other day!" Tuff says. "The ball went this way after I kicked it, so they're around here somewhere!"

"Very helpful." Tiff replied sarcastically, crossing her arms. "Find anything Kirby?"

Kirby was wandering from bush to bush, looking for the berries.

"We'd better find those berries before he does, or there won't be any left for Kawaskaki!" Tuff exclaimed.

"Very funny." Tiff rolled her eyes. "Oh, hey! Over there!"

They ran over to a bush with bright red berries hanging from the branches and started picking.

—-

"I don't get it! Where is that monster?" King Dedede exclaimed angrily. He was holding a bag of ice to a bump on his head as he used his binoculars to watch Kirby and his friends picking berries in the woods. "I saw how fast it was! It should be there by now!"

"Maybe it's gone rogue." Escargoon suggested.

"That scammer! All I wanted was a monster to get rid of Kirby, and he sends me one that destroys my castle and then runs away!" The king complained, looking behind him at the huge holes in the walls of his castle.

"Don't worry, sire. I'm sure the monster will get there soon." Escargoon replied, patting the king on the back.

—-

Meanwhile, deeper in the woods, a dark silhouette moves quickly through the trees. It finds an open clearing and drops a single, large, tear-shaped object into the ground and buries it in the dirt. The silhouette patted the ground and then slipped back into the forest.

—-

"Okay, the basket is full!" Tiff announced, holding up the basket.

"Yeah, but Kirby sure isn't!" Tuff replied, pointing to Kirby, who had red juice stains around his mouth and was sucking berries off one of the bushes.

"Come on, Kirby, it's time to go." Tiff called to him.

Kirby finished eating all the berries on the bush and looked up. He started bouncing towards them cheerfully.

"Kirby! Look out!" Tiff screamed suddenly.

Kirby made a confused "Puyo?" And turned around just in time for a ball of lightning to hit his face. He shouted as he flew backwards and bounced off the ground a few times before he came to a stop just outside the woods.

"Kirby!" Tiff yelled as she and Tuff ran to the edge of the forest to see if he was okay. They saw a monster emerge from the woods.

The monster was large and sleek, with sparking purple fur and a long, thin snout with whiskers that sparked when it growled. It slunk out of the forest and towards Kirby. It whipped its thin, bony tail around and launched another ball of electricity at Kirby.

Kirby got up and ran out of the way of the attack.

"Run, Kirby, run!" Tiff shouted as the monster lunged and gave chase to Kirby, using its tail to launch a brigade of lightning attacks at him while Kirby did his best to dodge them.

"Kirby! Suck 'em up!" Tuff yelled.

Kirby turned around, but he did it too soon and got smacked in the face by another blast that sent him flying back. The monster howled and its body vibrated with electricity.

"Kirby, get up!" Tuff shouted.

Kirby rolled to his feet slowly and the monster sped around him in circles, launching repeated attacks inward at him so fast that Kirby didn't have a chance to run away or suck up any of the attacks. He shouted as he was struck with repeated electricity blasts that exploded on impact.

Suddenly, the monster howled and stopped circling Kirby, and Tiff and Tuff spotted Meta knight as he landed a small bit away from the monster. He seemed to appear out of nowhere just like he normally did.

Kirby got to his feet again and shook off the shock.

"Kirby, incoming!" Meta Knight yelled.

Kirby saw the incoming blast and He swallowed it and transformed into Spark Kirby. Crown sparking, he dodged the monster's next attacks while Tiff and Tuff cheered him on.

"Yeaaah! Go Kirby!" Tuff cheered as he watched the fight.

"I wonder what kind of monster that is." Tiff said.

"I believe it is called Electrind." Meta Knight's voice said. Tiff turned around to see he'd moved to join her and Tuff to watch the fight unfold.

"Electrind?" Tiff repeated. Meta Knight nodded.

"Yes, an electric monster known for its speed and explosive quick attacks." The knight explained, looking on at the battle.

Kirby was countering Electrind's blasts by using his own attacks to blow them up before they could reach him while darting around the field shouting, "Huyo!"

The monster roared and its mouth started glowing blue as it rapidly fired attacks from its tail.

"Kirby! Aim for its mouth!" Tiff instructed.

Kirby charged toward the monster, weaving past its attacks and then he launched a volley of lightning into Electrind's mouth.

The monster didn't have time to react before it exploded into lightning and disappeared.

"Yeah! Way to go, Kirby!" Tuff cheered.

Tuff and Tiff ran down to meet Kirby, and Meta Knight disappeared.

"Great work, Kirby!" Tiff said.

"Puya!" Kirby replied cheerfully.

"Now, come on, let's get these berries back to Kawasaki. Maybe he'll make us a pie!"

"Payu Payu!" Kirby agreed enthusiastically, and they started on their way back to Cappy. Town.

—-

"What! That scammer sold me another dud monster!" King Dedede exclaimed, enraged. Throwing the binoculars at Escargoon and stormed back into the castle.

"Owww..!" Escargoon groaned, barely managing to catch the binoculars before they flew off the balcony after hitting him in the head. He turned and quickly followed the king, shouting, "Your majesty! Where are you going?!"

"I'm going to give that sleazy salesman a piece of my mind!" The king proclaimed, marching right down to the throne room and getting out the screen.

"Back so soon, Triple D? Are you enjoying your new monster?" The salesperson asked as his image flickered onto the screen.

"That monster you sent me was a dud! All it did was destroy my castle and run away! It didn't even beat Kirby!" Dedede accused. "I wanna a refund!"

"I'm terribly sorry to hear that, King Dedede." The salesman replied. "How about this then; as an apology, we'll send you a whole new monster for no charge at all!"

"Hmmm." King Dedede rubbed his chin. "As long as it's not like this last monster! Alright let's see what you've got."

"You'll have to be patient, King Dedede. I'll need a little bit of time to arrange everything." The salesman replied.

"What! You mean I have to wait for it?" Dedede yelled.

"Sire, a freebie is still free." Escargoon whispered into the king's ear.

"Fine, but you'd better hurry it up!" Dedede huffed.

"Thank you, your majesty. I'll let you know as soon as it's ready." The screen flickered off and retracted back into the wall as King Dedede sat down on his throne with a huff.

"He'd better not take too long!" Dedede mumbled.

"I know something that will cheer you up, Sire." Escargoon said, "It's dinner time."

"Dinner? Why didn't you say so?" The king leapt to his feet and made a dash for the dinner table, with Escargoon following behind him.
