To: President Seraphina Picquery of the Magical Congress of the United States of America

President Picquery,

I am writing this letter to formally request that the wizarding academy named Hale Ho'okalakupua 'O Pu'u Moaulanui be recognised and listed as part of the Magical Congress of the United States of America in lieu of Hawai'i officially becoming a Territory. The academy sits undetected on Kaho'olawe and is now home to roughly five hundred students from Hawai'i, Samoa, Fiji and Tonga as we are the only wizarding academy in the Pacific. The school was founded by my grandparents Pahili and Ke'ala Ahuna. I am the third Headmistress, having succeeded both my grandfather and father before me.

My grandfather was a student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry prior to becoming a resident of Hawai'i in the late 1700s, having originally come here aboard the H.M.S. Resolution captained by James Cook of the British Royal Navy and has instituted a similar cirriculum to our British equivalent. He has also included two new magical arts into our syllabus that involve the ocean and volcanic studies.

I was informed of your Magical Congress by one of my professors that was originally a student of Ilvermorny and now teaches at our school and it is my intention to place my school under the guidance and laws of the Congress. I sincerely hope that you will consider our petition and accept us as an official part of your jurisdiction. I hope all is well and will await your answer.

Mahalo a nui,

'Akea Ahuna

Headmistress of Hale Ho'okalakupua 'O Pu'u Moaulanui

To: 'Akea Ahuna, Headmistress of Hawaii's Wizarding School

From: President Seraphina Picquery, Magical Congress of the United States of America

Dear Headmistress Ahuna,

I must say that this is the very first time that the M.A.C.U.S.A. has been made aware of a wizarding school existing in Hawaii and are rather shocked that it seems to be the case. We also must say that your ability to keep this school a secret from even our knowing about it is rather commendable! That said, by unanimous vote of the Magical Congress of the United States of America, we accept your petition and welcome you as part of our Congress effective immediately. A delegate will be dispatched to your school in a month's time to finalize the details and we shall move forward from there. Thank you!

Signed,

President Seraphina Picquery

To: Staff and Students of Hale Ho'okalakupua 'O Pu'u Moaulanui

From: Alarin Ka'liati, Headmaster

As we approach the commencement ceremony of our school's graduating class of 2021, I would like to take a moment to reflect on our history. Since our original school was built in the summer of 1805, I am proud to say that we went from being but a handful of students being taught by my great-great grandparents Pahili and Ke'ala to having an outgoing class that rivals that of majority of the wizarding academies that exist around the world. Our dedication and perseverance has earned us a place as official members of the M.A.C.U.S.A. and recognition by the International Confederation of Wizards.

I would also like to congratulate our upcoming graduating class and sincerely hope that you all enjoy a bright and prosperous future. Do keep in mind that we are always looking to hire staff, so if you'd like to remain with Hale Ho'okalakupua 'O Pu'u Moaulanui as a member of our faculty, do not hesitate to speak with me on the matter! I look forward to speaking with you.

Signed,

Alarin Ka'liati

Headmaster
