"So how was it?" Lucas asked after they kissed. Elizabeth thought for a moment.
"It was like kissing my brother. I didn't feel anything."
"Really?" Lucas said astounded
Elizabeth felt something on her tongue and picked it out.
"Gross, your beard hair got stuck on my tongue"
Elizabeth started to cough. "I think it got in my throat"
"So when are we going out again?" Lucas asked.
Elizabeth made a gross face. "I'll call you"
Elizabeth made her way back to the jail. Nathan was inside nursing a drink.
Elizabeth came in the jail.
"Lucas is a bad kisser"
Nathan sat in silence.
Elizabeth sat down at the desk.
"Look, I know I sounded like a crazy person when I said I saw Jack in you. Maybe I need to be on medication or therapy but I want to give us a try. I know I've been horrible to you. Like the time I yelled at you in the street at Bill's parade instead of talking to you in private like a normal person. Or the time we played the hand holding game and I said Lucas. Even though the game was to find who you belong with by touching their hands. Or that time I cancelled our family date because I saw Helen Bouchard and disappointed Allie. And I know I'm using this "grief" theory to justify my behavior because when I came here 8 years ago, none of the widows act in their grief like I did. But I think we could be good together"
Nathan stood up and hugged Elizabeth.
"Let's get you to the sanitarium first and then we'll see from there. There are two men outside with a straight jacket to put you in." Nathan whispered. T
Elizabeth sighed "that's all I ever wanted."
