A few seconds. That's all that's needed to crash everything in someone's mind, send their mind running or their heart dying. It takes just a few seconds to change ones entire life, and Tobey wished so badly to repeat the few seconds he experienced just an hour earlier in the parking lot. Tobey let out a laugh into his pillow, pushing his head into it, hoping the soft feathers inside would suffocate him. A bloody parking lot, who would have guessed?
...
wait...
guessed what?
Tobey furrowed his brows as his whole body stopped...odd
Whats his mind thinking?
whys he acting like some silly school boy?
-"I do think that is very sweet and considerate of you Tobey" -
...
no
-"I am very proud of you for coming as far as you have Tobey..I really am" -
no way
Tobey hit his pillow hard, "no no no don't do this!" he growled, pushing more into the pillow. "get out of my head Botsford i need to think" he pleeded to some nonexistent force.
Word Woman.
he. loved. Word Woman
he did
he loved Word Woman still
...right?
Ever since hes gone good, she hasnt spoken to him, barely acknowledged his presence which pained him..but her beautiful voice, and her eyes. they looked at him now, kinder then they had before as a villian that bothered her every week..if he just tried a little more..his goddess might take note of him soon right? Becky on the other hand always played this little fluster game with him, if they werent giving qips to one another or aruging it was subtle teasing to get a rise out of each other...there was the occasional heart to heart too. Something he never had with anyone else, even Omar and Tobey was like an inch away from calling him his brother.
No. The conversations were different with Becky...they usually Ment something... But...
what was the something?
"-Don't think too much on that Tobey, it's a special reward for today cus you acted pretty heroic today," she ruffled his new fluffy hair "acted like such a white knight"-
Tobey groaned rubbing his head, whincing a little as he grazed a fresh bruise on his forehead and touching the top of his head where he felt her kiss him so gently..what did her lips feel li- STOP.
She said not to overthink it. so dont. She probably just did it to get a reaction from him...ugh. Forget it! Tobey leveraged himself, hit his pillow with his hand and layed his head down to rest. Frowning as he reluctantly closed his eyes and pulled his blanket over his shoulders. Might aswell try and get sleep..Reality isn't as nice as youd think though. Thinking of Becky, and then immediately of word woman, his mind played tug of war for a moment as he dozed into darkness, unaware of the soft smile that pulled the corners of his tired mouth..
.
.
.
"h...help...heelp..."
"help"
"I was so..the rubble, the dust, i..."
"TJ!"
"YOUR ONLY SUPPOSE TO GO AFTER THE BAD GUYS WORD GIRL!"
"TJ!" "TJ OH MY GOODNESS!"
"MOM!"
.
.
.
Tobey sat up from his bed with a jolt, holding his forehead as he grabbed his pillow and frustratingly used it to hit his feet before tossing them and himself out of his bed. His hand wondering the nighstand before putting his glasses on his face and winced. Grabbing his side Tobey leaned on his dresser a bit to take a breather. He forgot about the punch..by the feel of it Becky probably already left a bruise on him and she did it not even a few hours ago...he scoffed. "why do i get the feeling i was let off easy?" he mumbled to himself and tenderly rubbed his side before making his way to his desk..a little light work before bed never hurt...besides. Tobey dreaded the mornings. He needed his escape...
That damn day..
That horrible day..
Holding his head Tobey almost whinced at remembering it so clearly, down to the throbbing feeling of his fingers being cut by the rough concrete that he pulled from TJ and his tounge being coated by dust as he talked to the younger boy to assure his safety..that image of TJ laying down under the last bit of stone haunted his mind. Word girls face of disgust haunted his mind. The kindness TJ, Becky, the whole Botsford family showed him even after all he's done.
It all haunted him..
looking over his desk, bare of projects. All either taken by his father or stored at the Barrage, Tobey realized he was a bit lacking in inventions for the night..except for one...maybe it's time for a test drive. See what needs tuning.
None the wiser across the city, across the forest rather. Word Woman groaned as she typed away at a massive computer console that was at the upper levels of her super secret base, Bob had refused her access to the lab until recently, so now was this was her best time. Beside her, jittery and finally alert in his cage, the bar still bent around him, Dr. Two Brains struggled and strained against uncomfortable metal to get lose but no luck. "let me ooooooout, Word girl. let Me OUT" Dr Two brains hissed, "if you do maybe i can double think turning the closest building in to Blue cheese?" he said sweetly..."LET ME OUT"
Dr. Two Brains has been like this for hours already..soon after Tobey was picked up by his mother, Becky 'went to bed' and has been here ever since. For the passed 4 hoirs, she has been listening to Two Brains nonstop back and forth flipped switch voice scream to be let out. It was jarring each time she heard him open his mouth, one moment hes asking sweetly, the next, hes slamming against the bars of his cage like a rabid animal while hurling orders. Dr. Two brains reeled in his cage and began to bang his shoulders on the bars with bite marks all along the beam. Two brains tried to chew his way out already, but the metal bars were from a special lexiconian alloy Bob had on the cargo of the ship, it was so durible that even Word Woman had trouble bending it unless she used heat from a torch or two she would borrow from Tobey without his knowing. And still yet.. "LETMEOUTLETMEOUTLETMEOUT-" he chanted. The rapid aggressive banging and chanting continued in the background as Word Woman made her wait around him slowly, small vial in hand of dna she picked off while Two Brains was still out cold, placing it next to a seperate vial containing scrapped off slime grey goo that coated the small outer rat brain. Gently, Word Woman carried the two vials into a tray and a pushed a yellow button, turning to the giant screen above as it began to load and rubbed her eyes.
"how long have you been at this?" a voice above asked, Word Woman shrugged "doesnt matter, i still want to run more tests"
"ooooh goodie tests! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR TREAT ME WITH MORE RESPECT THEN SOME EXPERIMENT" dr two brains yelled.
"...how far have you gotten?"
Word Woman frowned
"...got it"
"ugh- the results aren't making sence, each and every time, something is off" Word woman said and pulled up atleast 7 files of her taking samples from Dr. Two brain. She hated each one. They all showed different levels of grey matter, of different species. human and rat to be specific. Each sample had different results for hemolysis aswell, at times high, others low, less often it was in the middle, all lining up one to one with the grey matter and dna results of human and rat. Each hour that passed Word Woman collected a new sample, and in Each hour the sample grew 0.01% higher levels of hemolysis, a sample specific to rats dna. Word Woman narrowed her eyes a bit at her screen.
ping
Word Woman looked up, pulling the results of the latest sample. higher hemolysis yet again. right after a low result. what on earth is going on...hang on.
Word Woman quickly began to type in her computer. pulling up results and images of Professor Steven Boxleitner, some with family, some co workers, cheery and smiling. Steven was almost always the brightest smile in the picture, eventually she came around to the last image. A Fair City Article
'Internationally acclaimed scientis moves to fair city: his plans for the future'
Word Woman trailed her eyes to read and found herself speaking a quote out loud. "'As a child. I admired people like Queen Riptide, Mile Man, even old school heroes like Titan, even though he never got praised, he was a driving force in the world of science, even small children could become geniuses with his starter labs. Such as myself.. It is their selflessness and desire to just do the right thing that led me here to fair city. I wish to help the people in this town the way old school heroes use to for my hometown when i was a child. I want the people to never be restless at night, I want them to be free to walk in the streets at night, i want to be a man that can help this city'..." Word Woman clentched her jaw and tighten her grip on the end of her table as she kept reading
"'Professor Steven Boxleitner, with several phds has proposed various ways of bio enhancing the average human to be great super humans. Though this project is only in its baby stages. Boxleitner wishes to start with a unique red substance he discovered in the lake of Fair City, a new component which he has dubbed Boxlec...aswell as rats'...Boxlec..." Word Woman muttered, typing in her computer but stopping short, she looked over at the ranting and raving, mostly about cheese, doctor. He almost scared Word Womans skin off with his twisted smile staring right at her before she turned around, wide eyed, and grinning his rotten teeth he chuckled, sitting and leaving against the bars Two brains shook his head
"your never going to find it Wordy birdy," he chuckled "its so hard to find you may aswell be looking for cheese in the ocean.." His smile twisted into a snarl "Give Up" he banged against the bars again.
Word Woman said nothing. Just. Nothing. She stared at him a moment as he kept banging for his release and sadly turned around back to her computer. Searching up results for Boxlec, there was only a single image and that was of a young Boxleitner holding a red stone sparkling stone, almost like a ruby but it appeared more metalic, almost anyway. The way Steven held it seemed like it was a fragile thing...if she could find some. maybe that could help Steven? Assured now, Word woman let out a breath she wasnt aware she was holding and turned to Two Brains cage, flitching when he tried to reach through the bars to grab her, Word woman hesitantly pressed the top of his cage and had a pod arrive and swirl around the cage "hey whats that do?" Two brains asked innocently, getting his awnser right away when the pod expanded around him. Word Woman only heared muffled screaming from inside the pod as it was sent out like it had arrived and went for the suspension chamber again.
Word Woman groaned and rubbed her eyes again, she glanced beside her to the computer to see the ti- 4am? already? Word Woman cursed under her breath, she can't go to the lake now, it's too dark and she may spend too long there. Won't be long before mom is up. Better get home. Word Woman turned everything off and locked down the Professor yet again, he was frozen in place mid yell. She was zooming through the sky, not allowing her lack of sleep to get to her just yet as she neared her house- bzz bzzz..bzz bzzz..bzzbzzz
"a text? at this hour?...who the heck is awake this hour?" Word Woman asked out loud, reaching for her pocket
"pot calling the kettle black much?"
"zip it.." she groaned and looked at her phone..thankful she can preview messages before opening them because the first thing that greeted her was a picture Tobey sent of his desk, all messy and disorganized as usual with a magnifying glass over a circuit board and beside that what seemed like a mountain f notes and old thumbed through notebooks that went passed the area the camera caught. The top of Tobeys head peeked sheepishly from the corner of the image, exhausted and sleepy. The new hair he obtained literally just hours ago looked like he was already making it a tangled mess of knotts from the bed head. Becky gave a scoff, this dork is absolutely going to mess up his hair again.
bzz bzzzz
new text popped up and pushed the preview of Tobeys last image out of view
"I might have forgotten to sleep again"
'might?' Word Woman frowned and rolled her eyes, "seriousl- this is why i cant leave you alone for too long Tobey" she groaned, tossing her head back and rubbing her face, she could already feel a migraine coming. bzz bzzz
"what now?" She asked, glancing at the messages she froze
"it may be late now but I will attempt to sleep..hopefully this new project earns me another reward if it works as i intend it"
...did he really make that mess for a reward? She only did that for a special occasion. Becky stared at the text for a moment, Tobey is always pulling all-nighters. Sometimes he spends full 3 days no sleep, but why did this one catch her off guard?
was it cus he wanted another kiss?
Or..did he simply want praise?
Was it something else?
what kind of reward is he talking about?
Confusing question after confusing question popped in her head, till she felt a rooftop tile texture below. Word Woman shook her head and looked down, she had subconsciously floated to ground level staring at the text. How long has she been staring at it? She glanced to the time on her phone...crap. Becky almost blew a hole in the poor random families rooftop she landed on with her take off, zipping across the sky and almost barreling into her bedroom from the open window, not only startling bob but sending him spinning in his moneky hammock from the rushing burst of wind that came when Becky zoomed in, quickly putting her hand on her chest and changing into her Pjs, which was basically her morning work out clothes comprised of comftorble jeans a tank and large hoodie, nothing really over the top as usual for Becky Botsford but she wore it incase she was too late to fake sleep, she could have at least fake coming from or going on a morning jog. As she closed the window, Becky practically WWE style dove into her bed, her sheet also in the air as Bob was still spinning and landing perfectly between the comforter sheet and the mattress. "sorry bob!" she yelled at a hushed volume and pretended go be as stiff as a board for the next few hours, her eyes drifting to sleep, the heavy feeling of slumber wash over Becky and she nodded asleep. But that didnt last, wasnt until atleast a few short hours later did she wake up to a buzz under her cheek where her phone rested.
Becky let out a pitiful groan as she felt the phone buzz, she wanted to throw it as she pulled off the lock screen but decided against it when she saw several texts from unknown numbers.
"sup Beck. Its Jackie, dont be mad but we kinda hacked your number off the customer data base ;p by we i mean me buuuuut anyway, some of the barrage is going to hit the town in a few, wanna come?"
Becky at that moment just stared blankly at her phone. wondering if she should be upset from her number being taken or being woken up just as she felt the bliss of sleep. The heroine sighed and layed her phone down flat, not planning to reply and give in to her selfish desire to sleep.
Llllp...
Ellllllppp...!
HEEEEEELLLP!
Becky jolted up with a gasp, practically falling out of her bed, but catching herself just before she hit the ground and floated above the wooden floor, letting a sigh of relief escape her lips a bit too soon, when she heard it again. "HEEEEEELLLP!". Becky pushed herself off from the floor and didnt even give herself the dignity of yelling her catchphrase as she touched her chest for her costume immediatly after taking off out the window.
Downtown, surrounding various stores were slender, deep red tinted black metalic and shiny humanoid forms, looking much like a chikd had played with playdough to make an army of men that seemed to duplicate when you hit them. How is that known? Because Jacki found that out the hard way as she wailed around her skateboard like it was a weapon. A few she hit just popped like bubbles and didnt get up again but handful of others she would take a swing at would fall to the floor in chunks that rose up with a electric stream like noise as they gained form.
"What the hell are these things?" Jacki growled, hitting another one, "Jacki on your left!" Omar's voice yelled from ahead of her in a different brawl of his own as he punched and muscled his way with the metaloid fiends, Jacki looked left and then down to see Angel being dragged away by his ankles as he clawed the floor to get away from the blobs that towered over the boy, he looked up at Jacki, jaw clenched as he reached forward
"Help!"
Jacki felt a cold metal hand touch her arm, looking to see she let herself get distracted and was grabbed, she let go of her board, allowing it to fall into her other hand waiting underneath, swinging her whole body around and bashed the figure upside the head. Popping it like a bubble and then started to feverishly swing her board at the metal figures that were ontop of a shivering Angel.
"GET AWAY FROM MY FRIEND!" The skater girl roared and went ballistic as she swung and swung, the one that held Angel by his legs got popped and the boy scrambled towards Jacki the moment he felt free, shaking as he hid behind her, grabbing the folding chair he was using to defend himself from the floor
"you ok?" Jacki asked, to which Angel could only stiffly nod. Angel whimpered as another tried to reach for him but he smacked it away, in turn calling Jackis attention back to the fray aswell, she raised her skateboard above her head and swung down, panting as another metal man burst she turned and pushed Angel forward "c'mon get to Omar!" She ordered. Leading tge way Jacki smacked more and more metal men, in turn making more of them as she blazed a path with Angel towards Omar who was holding a squirming metal man in a headlock and using him to beat other metal men down.
"what the heck is going on?!" Omar asked, grunting as he lifted tge wailing metal man up, tossed him in the air and stepped back so he would fall to the concreat floor of the street with a pop, "These things are everywhere!"
"they don't stop either"
"what do they want?"
"No fucking clue but move!" Jacki yelled as she drove the butt end of her board into the head of a metal man "but these things better fuck off soon. I still need to ask Riley out for a movie"
Angel's jaw dropped as he looked at her "your STILL trying to date them? Seriously!?" Angel asked looking almost more irritated in then scared now "You broke up a year ago!"
"So? I want them back!"
Angel groaned and found new strength in him to hit a metal man approaching him square in the jaw "Jacki they kept cheating!-"
"CAN WE DISCUSS THIS LATER PLEASE?!" Omar asked as he grabbed two metal men by the head and bashed them into each other
"NO!"
"NO!" both the soft voiced Angel and loud crude voice of Jacki yelled in unison.
The three totally unaware of the massively approaching hoard of more Metal men approaching slowly, as above them giggling in an amused joy was a woman repeatedly pressing her nose and summoning more and more metal men that automatically began to jump from the building and flood the streets with their kin, the familiar green light of hers was quickly followed up by a flash of red as if she was a Christmas card and summoned more metal men. "OOO i am just love, adore, treasure this new toy!" she squealed gleefully, patting the brand new shiny black box with red lining that rested on her chest above the copy machine on her chest. "so simple, easy, effortless! ooh ho ho ho! So, easy!" elated that her new contraption was even better then her last, Lady Redundant Woman rubbed her hands happily and ran a hand through her frizzy blonde hair, now boasting a double white streak that ran through all the way to her Ponytail, her purple outfit now having slowly morphed to a black outfit with purple accents but the newest addition of the shiny black box inplace of her ink cartridge made all pull together with her white gloves and boots that had a cyan magenta and yellow accents. Looking like a walking paper jam the villianness smirked as she watched her copies wreck general havoc amoung the population and distracting everyone and terrorfying them as a seperate casually walked off with arm fulls of money and jewlery. from stores, she frowned a bit looking over the street and seeing the barrage was holding their own pretty well, some random teens and their boss were getting rid of her new babies left and right to keep the store front safe.
"no, nuh uh, no, even happening, occcuring! ugh I can't let these brats stand in the way when I'm finally so close to that vacation I've been wanting!" Lady Redundant Woman glared and lifted her finger to her nose "let's try this setting" she closed her eyes and held her finger to her nose for atleast 3 minutes, the green light around her glowed and was held back, then shifted to red as right behind her a larger blob expanded behind her. Lady Redundant Woman looked behind her and almost squeeled, looking like a little kid who just unwrapped her biggest present at the party. The form was not black red like the others but instead a solid shiny red, with a single yellow ball in the middle acting as it's eye as it formed. it gave a very eery electronic groan as it slowly looked to its mother for orders
"my sweet, my sugar, my baby! Get those brats out of the way!" The villianess ordered, pointing Barrage as they still fought unaware she had her eyes locked on them. The hulking beast gave another electrical cry and slowly stomped to the edge of the building, ans hopped off, crushing some of its brothers on impact and sending a rattling shook wave off around the street, the crimson blob slowly rose to a full height of 18 feet, standing over the popped bodies of the other metal men as it sluggishly began to form its legs and head. Lady Redundant woman smiled happily and about to turn and order more metal men to rob businesses when she felt a strong bust of wind knock her straight off her feet, "woah!" she gasped, her metal men were firmly planted on the ground but they seem to rush to catch her before she fell and beeped angry electric current sounds and pointed up, "wha-...oh of course" Lady Redundant woman deadpanned looking up, seeing the familiar crimson and gold uniform of the cities protector, striking an incoming pose as she glared daggers at the older woman, then crossed her arms.
"Lady Redundant woman, I thought you quite the villain gig" Word Woman tilted her head in confusion, "i mean its been awhile"
Lady Redundant woman sighed and got off her shiny minions and stood dusting herself off "i took a break, a snooze, a relaxing time off, ugh why i let that annoying babbling man drag me into a relationship that long ill never know" Word Womans eyes went wide "aw wait does that mean-" "yes yhea uh huh, took a break from being a villain to get into the swing of a relationship.." she mumbled the last bit looking down with a mixed expression of hurt and expected anger "didn't work out"
Word Woman honestly felt pretty bad with how pained the older woman expression was- until a Small boom from the bank caught her attention back to the city in need of saving and glared at her "sorry but mind if we talk relationships After the fight?"
"after i win? succeed? triu-" mid way in her sentence Word Woman rolled her eyes and grabbed a metalman, and tossed it at her. "Bwah!" Lady Redundant woman yelled, the metal man knocking her down and going to goop, then splitting in two and rising back up as two separate metal men, they looked down at their creator and seem to panic and pick her up.
Word woman's eyes went wide "what the heck are these things?" she asked and seemed to back away a bit, the clones she fought Never split into like this before...come to think of it she's never seen these copies before. Lady Redundant Woman smiled and patted dust off her again "like them?" she chuckled "ah a lovely man, male, human plucked me from my despair the other day and offered me a new toy to test run, my babies are much hardier this time around Word Girl! destroy them the first time and they split into two new ones! You do the copying For Me" she laughed
Word woman groaned, "its word Woman!" she yelled and dove down, going to town on the metal men and punching the day lights out of them. Lady Redundant Woman gave a sad heartfelt look "aww but you'll always be that sunny little pain in the butt 10 year old to us villians"
"same goes for most of the audience actually"
the narrator piped in, and Lady Redundant nodded her head and froze as she saw Word Woman growl in annoyance and take out more of the roof top metal men, finishing them off and zooming to city hall. Lady Redundant Woman squinting her eyes to see where she went. ...she got her awnser a moment later as she saw Word Woman drag the large American flag that was hung infrony of the courthouse behind her and scooping up all the metal men in the streets, pulling them in like she was scooping up water and making them drop the money they had stolen.
"...damn shit fuck" Lady Redundant Woman said as she ran for the fire escape.
Word Woman frowned and narrowed her eyes as she moved and zoomed and angled herself in specific ways so she wouldn't Scoop up any metal men holding people or Scoop up the average citizen, once the flag was will up to the brim she hoisted herself and the bag upwards as the metal men inside squirmed. She flew up up up up...Then tied the bag quickly in the air before she took it by the knott and flung it to the forest, following after it. The red white and blue flag hit the forest floor with a shattering BWOOOOOM. sending dust and tree bark flyin, the bag slowly began to sink at the bottom and stopped squirming at the bottom, the top still moved up until Word Woman Blasted down fist after fist after fix and grounded the bag down to nothing. Word Woman stood on the cloth panting from exhaustion then looked at a small bump still moving before stomping it put and hearing a faint electric cry.
"there!" Word Woman began to fly up "now to get the re-"
"OMAR!"
"HELP!"
"RUN YOU GUYS!"
Becky felt her heart sink. Did she just hear the Barrage!?
BOOM
Word Woman sent a sonic boom off behind her as she raced off back to the city. Jacki texted they would be out. Where?! She shook her head, checking her phone would take too long she better hurry. Tensing her shoulders and gritting her teeth she flew over the city, looking it over frantically
"GO GO GO GET IN!"
Omar.
Boom
Again she sent a shocking sonic boom off behind her and tore towards Omar's voice and gasped as the site of a large, heavy set weight lifter level crimson Metal Man stood infront of the Barrage, crushing other metal men as it let out an electrical cry and lifted its beefy hand to swing at the building.
"NO!"
She wasn't gonna make it..
zzzzzzzzzzrooomp
Word Woman froze as she saw the hulking figure cry in pain and get knocked on its side by a bright blue light from the other side. It turned and roared at whatever it was that shot at him briefly when the light stopped but then cried again as Word Woman heard
vvvrom vvvrom vvvrom
it sounded like a higher pitch of the blast from earlier but more rapid fire blaster style, and she 3 saw clean holes punch through the beast smoking. The beast roared out electrical pain again. Word Woman found enough time to reach the monster and punch it on the back of its head. Pushing and knocking it forward but it didn't dissappear just yet. She landed on the asphalt floor of the street with a heavy thud, digging her knee into the concreat and pulling chunks up with her she slowed and grounded herself on the ground glaring at the monster
"You take forever" an electrical voice chuckled behind her. Word Woman froze and looked behind her, the deep voice had originated from a shiny pearly armored figure, only slightly tinted blue but that could have been more from the big blue T that rested on his whole torso and the blue visor, grey wires rested between the arms and legs and head from the torso but all the same. The figure with a blaster for its left hand was steadily aiming the weapon from behind her. The figure gave a nod to point at the monster.
"Hey hey hey eyes on the massive prize please!" The silver man begged. Word Woman turned her attention back around just as the crimson metal man got to its feet, around it more normal metal men appeared chattering annoyingly at her and the stranger.
They all in unison let out a horrible electrical howl
"we are not done yet"
Word Woman nodded in agreement but kept giving the silver man sidr glances, "you take out the little guys i got the big guy!" she ordered, kneeling down and then launching at the massive Crimson Metal man that was inches away from the Barrage and sent him flying backwards. Behind her Word Woman could hear the repeated blast from the silver strangers hand and splatters as the metal men he shot split into, inbetween that was the sounds of them popping and not reforming. The Barrage crew safely inside, they began to block up the door while the customers that were still inside hiding slowly made their way to the window and peeked out to see what was going on, phones suddenly at the ready at tge sight of blue light streaming from the silver stranger.
Word Woman on the otherside of the street was punching bashing, going all out on the large mech, only to stop once she noticed the missing chunks from her punches were slowly reforming while the burning holes made by the stranger left smoking marks. Gritting her teeth Word Woman grabbed the mech by its wrist and threw it over her shoulder into the air, going after it as it launched into the air. slowly after losing its velocity the mech began to fall again, turning to face the ground the mech was then impacted on the stomache by Word woman who kept pushing the metal work into the air, the robot hissed and beeped in dismay and lashed out at Word Woman at its stomache. She whinced and braced the punches to her sides and her arms, thankful none reached her head. Th hits barely did anything but doesnt mean they hurt any lless, bearing with it for a little longer, until eventually she could hardly feel air in her lungs from the height, Word Woman punched aside the next incoming hits ans flew around to the back of the machine, her lungs burning and straining as she pushed down towards the earth, they werent high enough to reach space, but damn were they high enough that at the speed and strength she pushed down on the crimson hulking robot turned bright orange from the heat of re entering, making the robot beep and wail electricity from being slowly melted alibe. Careful to guide it towards the ocean Word Woman brace herself for the impact of the wwaterthat came seconds after. She kept pushing down and gripped her hands under the water to yank up the machine, but felt it turn into something a kin to wet paper in her grip, opening her eyes to tge stinging salt of the water. Word Woman could see the Machine wailed more but the light in its singular eye faded away as the metal seem to dissolve into a red liquid around her- AH.
Word Woman grabbed her hands under water and quickly began to swim up. The red liquid Burns! It felt like it on her eyes atleast. Coming up gasping for air, Word Woman flew over the water and shook her self, panting and rubbing her wrist into her eyes. They really hurt. It felt like if she got one of Tobey's torches and pointed it directly into her eyes..
She gritted her teeth.
Theres no time, ignore it.
Word Woman yelled at herself as she blinked the burning away and made for tge barrage once more, only slowing down to gather up more metal men on the streets before arriving to the street she last saw the silver man. Seeing the gleam of his armor and the light from his beams as he took out the last of the metal men in his view Word Woman glared him down
"Catch!" she yelled, then tossed the enemies at the stranger. He was slow to react, looking like he was going to run at first instinct from seeing all the bodies thrown at him but his feet were firmly planted to the ground, grunting as he aimed his arm and charged up a moment before firing a longer stream of his blue beam into the metal men. The few that were missed and landed on the ground were short work for Word Woman as she curb stomped them while making her way towards the silver man.
The silver blue stranger panted and held the elbow to his arm firmly as he lowered it slowly, looking around for more metal men but seeing none. He did however seem to back away as he saw Word Woman approach, slightly hovering above the ground, looking ready to beat him to the ground aswell. Word Woman glared down, all the robot attacks lately, and suddenly a robot man swoops in for a perfectly timed save?
Oh yhea
great chances of that not being related at all. She landed her feet just an inch away from him and grabbed the silver man by the gap in the collar of his armor, then pulled him close to stare into the blue visor that only showed shadows of eyes within but mostly reflected her own tired expression back at her.
"Who Are You?"
WOOOOOOOOOOO CHAPTER 11 GUYS LETS GOOOOOO
ah man this is fun to type XD gotta say i do kinda hate spelling Lady Redundant Womans whole ass name. but i gotta. stay tune for text week and the next chapter for the next fun time!
