Chapter III
"Megumi Kurenai"
That lesson was boring and Misa had even deprived herself of two hours of sleep to attend that stupid law lesson.
So probably she would have had terrible dark circles under her eyes and during the next photo shoot the manager would have scolded her.
She put her glasses on her nose again and licked her sugary lips, thinking that the professor was not bad at all.
Actually, she had gotten up so early that morning, not to see that middle-aged teacher, but only because she knew that it was the same course followed by L and Light.
And to her enormous surprise when she entered that stupid classroom she had already found the two seated one next to the other, one (Light) looking at the other with evident resentment, while the other (L) looking at him with those deep and impassive eyes.
It would have been impossible to distract them from their absolut concentration, it was clear that they were fighting each other mentally and nothing and nobody could be able to disturb them. Nonetheless when the teacher asked them both something, they answered held without hesitation, this was too much to handle for Misa, she almost hated them for their bright brain.
She needed a breath of air and immediately!
Rather no ... she had to do something better, something that only she could do, only her: the future most famous actress in Hollywood!
She smiled to herself and put the strawberry cocoa butter back on her lips.
Rem knew that she acted like that when she was about to do something dangerous.
«Misa what are you going to do?» the shinigami asked worriedly.
«Nothing Rem.» answered the model taking a last look in the mirror.
«Just a little faint to get the attention of the university's top law students ...»
Rem sighed in exasperation.
«Still with this story of drawing their attention, Misa?»
«If not, why did I wake up so early, huh Rem? To make my face even worse, the same one that has to face the Japanese stars next week?!»
«I should have known...» Rem replied, giving up any attempt to persuade her to do nothing.
Misa smiled before getting up, putting all her weight on the desk, her face totally white and tears in her eyes.
«P..rof..fessor Kaz..uma?» the whole class turned to her, who stood trembling on the school desk.
«Yes, Miss Kurenai?» the iteacher asked impassively.
«Could I go out for a moment please?» answered the model, touching her white forehead with one hand.
«Not feeling well?» asked the teacher now seriously worried about the pale complexion of the actress, in this way she had managed to get the attention of the two little geniuses.
«Yes ... yes ... yes ... I just ...» and she collapsed on the floor, the technique of forced apnea had worked once again, but at that moment she was not in her usual audition for a movie, that occasion was something far more important than a movie.
The whole class stirred and Light was the first to get up.
«Oh how cute, he cares to play his nice guy part very well.» Rem thought, rolling her eyes.
L remained impassive and began to nibble his thumb without turning a hair.
«Someone help her!» the teacher screamed in panic.
«Don't worry, I'll take her to the infirmary!» Light answered immediately as if wanted that sort of excuse for a little escape.
«Thanks Mr. Yagami, are you sure you can do it alone? Mr. Ryuga, you could accompany him. »
L looked at him slightly confused, surely surprised that he had asked him for help too.
Light seemed to stiffen slightly, it seemed that he was intended for the constant presence of the detective.
«I can do it alone, Miss Kurenai doesn't seem heavy.»
Light murmured showing a smile, he could actually lift her without any difficulty.
«I agree Mr. Kazuma, I think Yagami kun will be more than enough.» L declared returning to suck the cap of the pen, he had already seen enough from the the young role-model student's reaction.
"Okay ..." answered the teacher. "Then Mr. Yagami, go ahead."
Light approached Misa and, totally unaware of Rem's suspicious gaze, picked her up and then went to the infirmary.
When Misa opened her eyes she saw two faces above her and a blinding light.
'So Miss Kurenai? How does she feel?" asked the nurse.
«W..well ..» she answered a little confused, then she remembered everything and smiled happily.
«Well! Yagami kun were you the one who took me to the infirmary? "
Light nodded his head, surprised by the enthusiasm of that female .
«I'm glad you recovered so quickly, anyway I offer to accompany you to the canteen, it's time for lunch ..."
Misa made one of her bright smiles.
«Thank you very much Yagami kun, what can I do to repay myself?" Light smiled.
«Call me Light, however, to repay you, you could have lunch with me."
He declared with one of his smiles so beautiful that they did not seem fake, as they actually were.
Misa saw Rem behind him make one of the usual grimaces that she reserved only for Kira.
«Oh but Light kun would be great." Misa replied, clasping her hands, she knew perfectly well that Kira's invitation was only to avoid another interrogation of her L during lunchtime.
«Are you sure you can do it?" he asked feignedly worried as he held out his hand to bring her down.
«Of course!" she replied, looking for her glasses to put them back on.
«Ah are you looking for these?" Light asked, handing her the glasses "what a pity you are so pretty without ... you have fantastic eyes."
Misa blushed despite knowing that he was just trying to charm her, but after all her eyes were really beautifull, even Kira could have thought so.
Arriving at the canteen she saw L go away from their sight, Misa looked sideways at Light and managed to notice his satisfied smile before it could disappear under the usual nice guy mask.
It was easier than expected if someone knows his true identity as Kira.
«Then? Why you've chosen this university? " the boy asked making her a sit.
«I've always dreamed of coming to to-oh since I was a kid, although I'm not very smart." the model answered twisting a lock that escaped from her ponytail.
«Why do you say that? After all, you're here, aren't you? You must be clever if you took the entrance exam…»
«Day and night of study to pass, I will have to work hard.» Misa answered pretending embarrassment.
«I'm sure you can do it!» the student answered touching her hand, Misa looked at him in amazement and he smiled at her.
«Do you want to go out sometime? I was wondering if you'd like to come to my house this evening…» Misa was even more surprised and almost jumped from her chair, had Kira just invited her to his house?
«Sorry?» she asked disoriented, he laughed.
«You are not forced to accept it, that is, I was wondering if you wanted to study a bit together, I could also help you with the homework.»
He replied showing off his usual bright smile.
«Misa not listening to him, it's just a tactic to appear as the usual normal popular boy who goes out with the prettiest girl in school.»
Rem whispered in her ear.
«Surely his room will be full of police cameras, which is why he is inviting you, so he will be able to kill while it seems that he is only doing his homework with a girl and no one will suspect him ...»
«All right!» answered Misa in a high-pitched voice «It will be perfect!»
She continued referring more to Rem than to Light.
«Perfect.» the latter answered in his persuasive voice, «I'll wait for you then.»
Ended up searching in his pockets looking for a pen, then he wrote his home address and handed it to her. Misa took it and put it back in her bag trying not to let her happiness shine through.
«Shall we go get some food?" he asked, holding out his arm.
«All right.» Misa smiled at him, leaning against him to get up, categorically ignoring Rem's killer gaze and L's inquiring gaze (everything was going just as planned).
Author magic world:
Here we are with the third chapter! Misa has done one of her crazy plans, let's say that unlike the two genious boys, she follows more the instinct xD
She has been invited to Light's house already!
And of course she can't wait to go there ...
How will things go?
Should she listen to Rem or trust her instincts?
