Over the Bordurian border, Reese and her men were in a C-130J Super Hercules when they all finished preparing their weapons and ammunition for the HALO jump, which meant they were going in Borduria as part of a clandestine rescue operation. This meant they would have to remain discreet, therefore, Reese and her men had added a silencer to their M27 rifle while taking additional MP5SD6 submachine guns for the rescue operation. The US Marines were indeed trained for such stealthy operations.
Suddenly, the loadmaster yelled them, "Down the ramp! Red light is on!"
Reese and her men then put their oxygen mask on before adjusting their wrist-mounted altimeter for the jump. They all had a parachute pack on their back to take part in the jump opening their rescue operation, since they mustn't be detected by the Bordurian anti-aircraft radar and the incoming soldiers. Reese and her men knew the Bordurian soldiers were led by ruthless Colonel Sponsz and were wearing Russian Army camouflage uniforms, since they had it explained at the briefing.
Meanwhile, Tintin and his group were keeping to search for the border while still being chased by Sponsz and his troops. But the Bordurians found nothing, since Tintin and his group were hiding into trees. From his perch, Captain Haddock could see the Bordurians were wearing Russian Army uniforms in addition to wearing Chinese body armor. Tintin and Nestor also saw the Sponsz's troops were carrying AK-74M, AK-12, AK-15 and AKM rifles fitted with several accessories, including optics, foregrips and modified stocks. The Bordurians also had MP443 Grach pistols in their holster. Sponsz himself had an AKS-74U rifle and a Beretta pistol in a holster.
The ruthless Bordurian colonel and his men kept combing the surroundings for Tintin, Haddock, Snowy, the Thompson twins and Nestor. Sponsz indeed wanted revenge against them after what they did to him in San Theodoros, before they exiled him to Borduria a few years before. So Sponsz, having a huge amount of personal ego, wanted them dead more than ever before.
A few hours later
After some hours, Tintin and his group went down their perch and kept walking towards the border, where they knew they would be safe. Not knowing some high-ranking US Military officials had sent a clandestine rescue party to search for them. As the group stopped behind some rocks, they saw a patrol of Bordurian soldiers, who didn't know Tintin and his friends would be rescued. Indeed, one of the Bordurian soldiers, ranking sergeant, was quickly shot dead. Before the other Bordurian soldiers could raise their AK rifles, they were also shot dead.
The shooters then approached Tintin & co's hiding place, revealing themselves to be Reese and her men. The US Marines had their suppressed M27s shouldered as Tintin and his group surrendered not to be shot at. The Marine squad leader then took pictures of the group printed on poker cards to recognize them. And indeed, she did recognize them as her men were scanning the mountains for any threat.
"Good. We got them. Now let's trek across the border." the female US Marine announced.
"Got it, Sergeant Grady." her right-hand man replied.
Tintin and Haddock, recognizing the surname Grady, lowered their arms and took the dead Bordurians' weapons. Even if they didn't want those Bordurian soldiers to be killed, they had to evade them or risk being caught. They indeed knew those soldiers would have delivered them straight into Sponsz's arms for torture or worse. With that in mind, the group and their rescuers began to trek. Reese then heard Sponsz's voice through the dead Bordurian sergeant's radio before grabbing the device and throwing it against a rock, breaking the radio. The group then began their harduous trek across the mountains, knowing Sponsz and his troops would be going after them.
