On a beach just outside of a small settlement, there lied four figures in the sand.

"Ugh… My head…" Tsubaki groaned. "What is this place? Where are we?"

"A beach…I think." Perfuma said.

"Hm?" Tsubaki asked. "Aren't you… Perfuma? You're on the Hope Squad."

"I'm here too." Scorpia said. "Though…who is that?"

"This land…is a mystery to…" a swordsman spoke before noticing the three. "(Women?! The devilish of creatures. Just be calm.)"

"Hey…you okay?" Tsubaki asked.

"Fear…fear not. I am a swordsman…willing to protect you." he said, shaking a bit.

"Uh, are you okay there? You look like you've seen a ghost or something." Perfuma said.

"No ghosts…I simply do not…encounter women that often." he said, shaking a bit. "My grandfather warned me that women can be dangerous creatures as did my mother and grandmother before her."

"Don't worry, were not dangerous. We can be your friends." Pefuma said. "My name is Princess Perfuma of Plumeria, and this is my friend Scorpia."

"I'm Tsubaki...and you are?" Tsubaki said.

"H-Hayase. Hayase Kajiya." he said before something caught his eye. He saw three pokemon. A Rowlet, A Cyndaquil and an Oshawott. "The creatures! The ones who lured us here!"

"You're right! That Rowlet looks like the same one I chased through Flower Town." Perfuma said.

"And that Cyndaquil was the same one that I saw in Shinjuku." Tsubaki said.

"And that otter…I chased it after my fight against those people. We must…" Hayase said before something landed in the land behind them, scaring off the three Pokémon.

"What?" they heard as they saw Rutega rising from the sand.

"Owwwwwww….." Rutega groaned as she held her head. "Not… the best of landings…" she groaned as she looked around. "...Where am I?"

"That's a question we'd all liked answered." Scorpia said. "But first of all, who are you?"

"...You do- Ah, yeah haven't met any of you four… *ahem* My name's Rutega. It's a pleasure to meet you all." Rutega said, putting on her best of manners.

"She is definitely some kind of demon." Hayase thought aloud.

"DEMON!? Oy veeey… Another person I have to explain this to. Okay, I'm not a Demon. I am a Saiyan. There's a large difference." Rutega said, clearly not the first time dealing with the whole Saiyan/Demon mixup.

"Oh! We know some Saiyans!" Perfuma said. "In fact, we're friends with at least three of them. Goku, Vegeta and Gohan are their names."

"Know all three of those guys! Always got close to Goku, Vegeta I'm on par with, and Gohan…. Well I wiped the floor with him." Rutega admitted.

"Hmm…either way…your landing scared off the fiends who dragged us here with their plates and tricks. We need to go after them." Hayase said.

"Fiends!? Well leave it to me and my partners Zana and Zamo-" Rutega was about to say.

"Wait!" a voice called out as a man in white approached. "Sorry…but…those three Pokémon…they're…actually under my care."

"Oh, they're yours?" Perfuma asked. "Those clothes… are you a Professor?"

"Well…yes. I'm Professor Laventon of the Galaxy Expedition Team. The Survey Corps Pokémon Professor. I was sitting nearby when all five of you fell from the sky." he said.

"That explains my rough landing…" Rutega groaned. "Sorry we scared off your Pokémon. If you want, we can go gather them back for you."

"Yes…also…could you catch them for me? See…I haven't put them in their balls yet." Laventon said, presenting some wooden looking Pokéballs. "And I don't have much of a throwing arm since Pokeballs are a relatively new invention."

"Hmm… I think we can help with that." Tsubaki said as she took the Pokéballs, passing two to Perfuma and Hayase.

"I shall go and catch Rowlet." Perfuma said heading over to where it was waddling about. "Just throw the ball like Alice did in Galar…." she told herself before throwing her Pokeball at the Owl pokemon. It bonked on its head before encapsulating it, vibrating before a miniature firework went off from the top. "Caught it!"

"Nice job! I'll help round the other two up to make it easier on you guys." Rutega offered, digging into her berry stash and beginning to chuck some berries to draw them back.

"Hmm… Now where could that Cynadquil be…?" Tsubaki asked as she saw it by a rock formation. "There we go." she said as she threw a Pokéball at it. However Cyndaquil broke out as it went over to the berries.

"Unfortunately they're not a guaranteed success. Don't be afraid. Try again." Laventon said handing her another Pokéball.

"Okay." Tsubaki said as she saw the Cyndaquil eating the berries that Rutega planted. "Okay… This time, I've got it." she said as she tossed the ball again. This time it let out a spark out the top.

"Good work, Tsubaki!" Perfuma acknowledged. "Alright Hayase, that leaves you with catching Oshawott."

"I will handle it." Hayase said, tossing the ball as he captured Oshawott.

"Incredible. You all…you aren't afraid of Pokémon, are you?" Laventon asked.

"Nope. Pokémon are like cute friendly creatures to us." Rutega said with a smile.

"Plus, this may be hard to believe, but… Some of us are used to being around them." Tsubaki said.

"I see…like the people of Alola who live in harmony with Pokémon. You see, those three were imported from various regions and they came bolting towards Prelude Beach as if they knew you all would fall there." Laventon said.

"Say, where exactly did we fall out of?" Scorpia asked.

"The Space Time Rift. That large formation over that mountain." Laventon said pointing right at it.

"...Whoa. Call me blind, I didn't even see that." Rutega said as she saw the rift.

"You are but a number of strangers that have appeared here in the Hisui region." Laventon said.

"A number? There are others that fell through here too?" Tsubaki asked. "(Maybe one of them could be Ayase. I haven't heard from her since a few days before I got here.)"

"Hmm…it seems as though fate brought you all here for a reason. You see, I want to compile a first ever record of this region's Pokémon." Laventon said.

"A Pokédex?" Perfuma asked.

"Yes! That's an excellent name for it! A proper Pokédex for cataloging all of the Pokémon found in Hisui." Laventon said.

"Well, consider us your proper helpers! We'll help you fill a proper Pokédex for the region!" Rutega said without a second thought, beaming proudly.

"Not just yet. I'll need to bring you to the Galaxy Team headquarters to bring this up with my superior. It's not far. Just right inside Jubilife Village." Laventon said.

"Completing the first ever Pokédex in history…. It sounds fun! I'll gladly come with you." Perfuma said.

"I'll come with you too, Perfuma. What else can we do in a place like this, right?" Scorpia asked.

"They act as if we have any other option." Hayase said. "If this path returns us to where we come from…then we have no choice but to pursue."

"Hey, I don't know about you guys, but I'm absolutely excited for this!" Rutega smiled. "I'm coming with you!"

The six of them soon entered the village as they took the chance to look around before coming to a large brick building.

"This is the Galaxy Team base. It is here that we have, from many different regions, come to settle and understand the land that is Hisui." Laventon explained.

"Everywhere we go, all the villagers are staring at us." Perfuma said.

"Can you blame them? We're outsiders." Tsubaki whispered.

"They don't seem to be looking at me." Hayase said.

"(Have you seen how you dress?!)" the girls thought to themselves.

"You five can go near the canteen. I'll be right back." Laventon said as he ran on inside.

"Hmm…so you five…strangers in the village?" asked an elderly man as he looked them over. "You must be hungry." he said before serving them. "Potato mochi…served hot."

"Th-thank you so much for offering." Tsubaki said.

"Don't mind Beni. He's a pretty good cook." a figure said as they saw a strong looking man approach. "Let me guess…you all fell from the sky after finding a plate right?"

"Y-yes. That's right." Tsubaki said.

"That's what I thought. Same thing happened to me. Name's Granite. I'm a miner who makes his fortune digging up treasure from the underground." he said.

"Oh, it's nice to meet you. My name's Perfuma. This is Scorpia, Tsubaki, Hayase and Rutega." Perfuma introduced. "Surprised you're here."

"Yeah…got cornered by the Security Corps and brought here. I'm currently working for a corps looking into the minerals of this land." Granite said. "Actually, there's one other guy who got cornered and is working here but he's handling other business today."

"Aw…well that's a shame." Scorpia said.

"If you guys are gonna join the expedition, then I'm sure you all will cross paths sooner or later." Granite said.

"Thanks for the reassurance." Rutega said with a smile.

"Are there any other people here in the village who have shared the same results as us?" Perfuma asked.

"As far as I know, it's just us and the other guy I mentioned. Haven't seen anyone else yet." Granite said.

"I'm sure they're fine." Tsubaki said. "If they ended up transported here like us, I'm sure they would have Pokémon with them too."

"True. In fact, I use Pokémon myself." Granite said, tossing out two Pokéballs as from them came a Cranidos and a Shieldon.

"Oooh! You use both of the Sinnoh Fossil Pokémon!" Perfuma awed.

"Cool! I would use my Pokémon but… not exactly sure how the locals would react to two Legendaries walking around…" Rutega admitted.

"Probably even worse than the constant mention itself." Tsubaki said.

"Oh…you really shouldn't throw that word around too much." Granite said to Perfuma.

"What word? Pokémon?" Perfuma asked.

"Not that one. The S one." Granite said.

"Ah, right. Got it. It's kind of a sacred term around here, isn't it?" Tsubaki asked.

"There are two clans here: the Diamond Clan and the Pearl Clan. All who worship their god, almighty Sinnoh." Granite said. "However, one believes it governs time while the other believes it governs space."

"Hmm… Yeah, I can see how much of a taboo that would be." Tsubaki said. "And if the other Plate Holders ended up being among them, we might encounter them on a few occasions."

"So no S word around them, okay Perfuma?" Scorpia asked.

"I understand. Still, I hope we can come to rely on you going forward, Granite." Perfuma said.

"Think nothing of it. We're all in this situation together." Granite said.

"Speaking of… I should probably quickly grab a Pokémon of my own shouldn't I? To replace my… well… you guys know." Rutega asked.

"Yeah… You probably should." Tsubaki said.

"If you're joining the Survey Corps…you'll be having plenty of time for that." Granite said.

"Okay, big sigh of relief…" Rutega sighed in relief. "Kind of eases things."

"So these are the newcomers?" a voice asked as they saw a serious and emotionless looking woman standing before them.

"Ah…nice to see ya." Granite said. "This is Cyllene. She's the one who leads the Survey Corps. And if you join, she'd be your superior."

"Oh, I see. It's a pleasure." Perfuma said. "If you would have the five of us, we'd really love to join the Survey Corps."

"Yeah! We were told we could join by Professor Laventon." Rutega said.

"Hmm…you'll be given a test." Cyllene said. "Tomorrow, you will catch three Pokemon for me. If you succeed, you will be welcomed into our ranks."

"Yes, ma'am." Tsubaki said. "Don't squander this, guys. If we mess up, it's the end of the road."

"Nah, we won't mess this up." Rutega said. "I know we'll all do good!"

"Guess our adventure in Hisui begins tomorrow." Scorpia said.

"Just keep this in mind…Pokemon…are terrifying creatures." Granite said.
