Work for the Galaxy Team Survey Corps progressed greatly overtime for those living in Hisui for now. The Pokémon Perfuma, Tsubaki and Hayase started with had soon evolved into Dartrix, Quilava and Dewott respectively. However, things were different today.
"I was thoroughly impressed with your work in the Obsidian Fieldlands." Cyllene said. "Which is why I will be rewarding you…"
"Yes!" Perfuma said.
"...with another assignment." Cyllene said.
"Oh." Perfuma said.
"Now then…recently, a warden from the Diamond Clan, Arezu, came by here earlier today. Apparently there's been issues with one of the Lords who watch over the Crimson Mirelands." Cyllene said.
"Wait…are you saying…" Tsubaki asked.
"Starting right now, you all have permission to do field work in the Crimson Mirelands as well as figuring out the issue with the lord." Cyllene said.
"So we got access to a new area? Great!" Scorpia said.
They soon arrived in the Mirelands as they saw a vast swamplands before them.
"This is not that great." Scorpia said.
"Huh…looks like this is the area that eventually becomes the Pastoria Great Marsh." Ayase said.
"I can totally see that. There's still quite a bit of diverse wildlife here." Tsubaki said.
"Uh…what is that?" Rutega asked as they saw some sort of dome appearing in an area of the swamplands.
"I don't know. But… I'm sensing quite a lot of energy from it." Tsubaki said.
"It's probably some kind of space-time distortion. Likely from the rift or us being here." Gus said.
"Hmm…just curious…but do you think Pokémon from different times could appear there?" Ayase asked.
"Definitely." Gus said. "Blending space and time, without a doubt, Pokémon not native to this time could appear there."
"Though, I would imagine that they are very powerful. It's probably best we take caution when taking a gamble on these." Tsubaki said.
"Right…we can focus on these once we get a bit more experience." Hayase said. "Right now…we need to focus on the task at hand. We're supposed to meet with the lord warden Calaba in the Solaceon Ruins."
They looked around before seeing a large stone structure in the cliffs. They began to approach it with caution. Inside of these ruins was an elderly woman with a Bibarel by her side as she looked at some broken writing.
"Excuse me." Hope said.
"You must be the ones who quelled Kleavor. I am Calaba of the Pearl Clan. So you are the ones who fell from the sky." she said.
"Erm… Yes, that's right." Tsubaki said.
"Hmm…what you did is hardly anything different from bullying a Pokémon into submission. I will not accept help from the likes of you or the Diamond Clan." she said. "I have important things to do and would not like to be distracted any further." she said as she stared at the broken writing.
"Hmm…." Perfuma said, looking at the broken wall. "I wonder. If we could recover the fragment of the wall tablet that was stolen, maybe we could gain her favor?" she said to the others quietly.
"Could work." Hope said.
"I think I saw smoke nearby. From a campfire more than likely. Perhaps someone saw what occurred." Hayase said.
"No better way to find out than to ask." Siege stated.
They left the ruins as they headed into a side of forest where they saw the remains of a campfire.
"This wood…it was burned recently." Hayase said.
"Now who might you be? Not normal travelers, we assume." a voice asked.
Turning around, the group saw three women looking down at them.
"Who the heck are you three supposed to be?" Cricket asked.
"Hmm. I bring good fortune to my sisters and ill luck to anyone who cross our paths. I'm the eldest sister, and I'll be your unlucky Charm." the middle one said.
"Thought you spotted a four leaf clover? Well, I'll soon have you seeing double!" the one on the left said. "I'm the middle sister, and I'm one Clover you can't pick!"
"Heads, I win. And tails, you lose. You all have no chance in this game of fortunes. I'm the youngest, Coin, but I am definitely not your good luck piece." the one on the right said.
"We're the infamous bandit trio, the Miss Fortune Sisters! Your luck just ran out!" all three said as they posed.
"Bandits? There are people like that roaming around here?" Tsubaki asked.
"Seems criminals will always appear no matter the era." Hayase said.
"I'll handle these fools. But I'll just hurt them a little. Come, Toxicroak!" Coin said as she sent out Toxicroak.
"A Toxicroak…let me handle this! Let's go, Gothorita!" Ayase said sending out Gothorita. "Attack with Psybeam!" she called out as Gothorita took out Toxicroak with one Psybeam.
"Ugh… I'm not fond of the outcome, but this beats plowing fields for that pathetic Galaxy Team." Coin said. "They still continue to spoil things for us even after I left. Take the blasted fragment and go!" she said, tossing it at them.
"We thought it was some sort of treasure since it had writing on it, but it turned out to be useless! All that effort for nothing!" Clover said.
"Hmm…" Charm said. "Time for us to flee. Seems our pursuer is approaching. Until next we meet." she said as the three vanished in a cloud of smoke.
"Huh…wonder what that was all about." Moth said.
The ground soon shook as they saw something jump down from the cliffs above. A large allosaurus as it roared.
"What the heck?!" Scorpia said.
"A dinosaur…in a world of Pokémon?!" Ayase said.
"Damn it…they got away again." it said.
"Wait, did it just talk?" Tsubaki asked.
It sniffed the ground for a moment. "I see…so they're heading to the east. Then that's where I'll go." it growled before it ran off after the scent.
"Well, that just happened." Tsubaki said.
"A giant allosaurus…yeah…that had to be him." Hope said.
"But still… What was it about those three that got him chasing after them?" Tsubaki asked.
"Cause he's trying to bring them in." a voice said as Granite approached. "Well…seems you guys finally met with X Drake."
"X Drake? Isn't he an infamous pirate?" Ayase asked.
"Yep. But here, he's a member of the Security Corps of the Galaxy Expedition Team." Granite said. "Those bandits tend to cause trouble. While they aren't much of a big threat, Drake took it upon himself to chase them down and bring them to justice."
"Huh. That's admirable." Rutega mused.
"By the way…gotta ask…who's your little friend?" Granite asked.
"Little friend?" Scorpia asked as they turned and saw a small creature shaped like an A.
"...Isn't that an Unown?" Siege asked.
"Yeah…must have followed us out of the ruins." Ayase said.
"Well, I guess we could call him our little friend but we didn't even know he was there." Rutega said.
"Hmm…well…" Ayase said as she tossed a ball at it and captured it. "We were told to catch all Pokémon. This is just another one for the Pokédex."
They returned to the ruins with the fragment.
"You…you got this back from the bandits? I see…you all are that eager to calm Ursaluna aren't you?" Calaba said.
"Yes. We want to assist the Noble Pokémon in any way we can if they're being affected." Perfuma said.
"I see. I'll admit I didn't expect anyone else to care for his condition." Calaba said as the wall fragment was returned to her. She placed it back on the wall itself, completing the tablet. A sentence was spelled out in Unknown letters. "All lives touch other lives to create something anew and alive. That is what it says. I believe it refers to when people help one another."
"Quite a powerful message." Hayase said.
"Very well…I shall take you to Ursaluna." Calaba said.
She lead them far out into the mirelands where they saw a man with some Swinub as they watched a large bear creature.
"Oh…you're here again?" Calaba asked.
"Of course…watching Ursaluna is always something interesting. What a nose." he said.
"You know this guy?" Scorpia asked Calaba.
"You could say that. This man calls himself Keith. Like you, he also fell from the sky." Calaba said.
"Why is he so interested in Ursaluna?" Perfuma asked.
"Cause its nose…could be used to dig up all sorts of hot springs…increasing my already vast fortune." Keith said.
"I've heard of you. You're the Hot Springs Magnate!" Lizardess said. "You own locations in a number of worlds and universes."
"That's right. I made my fortune digging…well…I also had these guys." Keith said looking to the Swinub next to him.
"Swinub? Oh wait, don't they have some of the best noses around?" Scorpia asked.
"Yeah…but turns out this Ursaluna thing has a way better nose. It can smell anything." Keith said.
"Yeah…it does look tough." Hope said seeing the big bulky bear. "So…is it…"
"Yeah…it's an evolution of a Pokémon called Ursaring." Keith said.
"Really? I didn't even know Ursaring had another evolution stage beyond itself." Hope said.
"You also probably didn't know that Kleavor, the noble you quelled, is a branch evolution of Scyther either." Keith said.
"Honestly, we didn't." Ayase said.
"Though…while Ursaluna looked irate…it doesn't seem to be in as much of a frenzy as Kleavor was." Gus said.
"Now…you all are permitted to battle Ursaluna but I will not allow you to capture him." Calaba said.
"We understand." Tsubaki said.
"Here's something to keep in mind. Ursaluna is a Ground and Normal Type. So best to use Grass and Water." Keith said.
"I hope you don't mind sitting this one out, Tsubaki." Ayase said.
"Not at all. Go for it!" Tsubaki said.
"Let's begin. Come, Dewott!" Hayase said.
"You got this, Dartrix!" Perfuma said, sending it out.
Ursaluna roared as it prepared to fight.
"Okay, Dartrix! Use Razor Leaf!" Perfuma said as Dartrix nailed Ursaluna with a new grass move.
"Dewott, strike with Water Pulse." Hayase said as Dewott attacked with a strong Water Pulse.
Ursaluna roared as it buckled down.
"Hmm…" Ayase said. "Stop!" she said as they stopped fighting as she approached Ursaluna. "Oh…that's the problem. He's agitated cause he's been poisoned." she said. "I can handle this. Cure Poison." she said, ridding Ursaluna of its poison.
Ursaluna was soon recovered as it got back on its feet. It looked at the group with kind eyes before handing over the Earth Plate to them.
"Thanks, big guy." Keith said. "Though…he wasn't really frenzied."
"Yeah…so…why did this Arezu woman not tell Calaba that Ursaluna was just poisoned?" Hayase pondered.
"Whatever the reason is…Ursaluna is better now. Until we see her again…we just continue on with our job…and gather more Pokémon and understand them." Hope said.
"Yeah…" Tsubaki said. "Ayase…those White Mage skills have improved."
"Thanks. I practiced them by studying medical books and RPGs involving jobs like curists or white mages." Ayase said. "All for my dream…of becoming a doctor."
"Yeah…dreams." Tsubaki said as she looked down. "My dream…what would that be like?" she pondered.
