As days turned into weeks Sakura grew distant to those around her, her relationship with Kakashi became public and the reaction from villagers and shinobi alike were somber, she faced no judgement and no punishment. They felt broken for her, a small funeral was held, and Sakura could barely crawl out of bed to attend. Ino and Sai practically had to drag her out while Ino bathed her, brushed her hair and helped her get dressed. It was like that day in the forest all over again, Sakura felt like that little girl who had to lean on everyone for support.

Several shinobi got up on the podium to say a few words, some made jokes to lighten the mood but many cried. Naruto had gotten up there and had talked about growing up he only had Iruka-Sensei by his side, he didn't have many friends, it wasn't until after he joined Team 7 did friends follow and he create the bonds he has now. "Kakashi was like a father to me, he helped me hone my abilities alone with Pervy-Sage and he helped keep me on solid ground when I needed it" Naruto wanted himself to cry the way others were, but he was Hokage now and his village was only as strong as he was. "Kakashi taught me real life values about friendship and even when Sasuke left the village and I wanted to just give up, Kakashi reminded me how important it was to be there for your friends." Naruto wasn't good at telling jokes, so he just laughed about how often Kakashi was late, and he was surprised Kakashi wasn't late to his own funeral. Naruto finished talking after ending his speech with a lighter note.

When it was Sakura's turn though she didn't want to say anything, she just wanted to crawl back into bed and stay there for the rest of eternity… or at least until the sick fates gave Kakashi back to her. Sakura slowly walked up sighing, biting her lips a habit she recently picked up. Looking up from the papers she held with her notes on them, looking at everyone's faces her stomach dropped. All eyes were on here, except for the one pair that weren't. What she would give to see the coal-colored eyes she had fallen deeply in love with. "Kashi-er Kakashi was my teacher from my genin days, and he taught me a lot, he taught me that uh, that those who break rules are scum but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum. Those are words that have been engraved into my brain since the day on the training grounds… the day I officially became a genin…" Sakura took a deep breath, her hands were cold from the crisp air and her lungs burned with each intake of air she took "I fell in love with a man who should've never been within my grasp, he was Kashi to me and he….he showed me that I wasn't annoying and that I did deserve to be loved" Sakura couldn't stop the warm tears that flowed down her face and onto the wooden podium. "This is fucked up" Sakura couldn't manage to get another word out as she fell to the ground slamming onto her knees into the snow as she cried, trying to rub her tears from her eyes but more and more just flowed. It wasn't until Ino pulled her up and away from everyone could Sakura even begin to calm down, barely being able to catch her breath. Taking a deep breath Sakura buried her face into her hands. She sat like that for hours while people passed her, many friends tried sitting with her only to just leave themselves. She was tired of just everything, that was when Sakura decided she would no longer be tired, and that everything would be okay again. Standing up Sakura started walking, she walked past many places where her and Kakashi had secret dates. A garden where he gave her a cosmos flower he had clipped, the training grounds where they had picnics, they even had a date at Ichiraku.

It cuts deep through our ground and makes us forget all common sense

A heavy snow fall befell Konoha as Sakura made her way around town just taking in all the memories she had, even ones as team 7 where they had to keep rescuing a cat that kept running away from his owner, where Naruto would cry about simple missions when all he wanted was bigger and better missions. These were memories that Sakura cherished. A small smile found itself upon Sakura's lips as she made her way through the edge of the village and through the forest clearing where the lake was. Climbing up the mountain side Sakura didn't have second thoughts about what she was doing, and she was more than ready to see the man she loved again.

Cause you are the piece of me, I wish I didn't need

Sakura stood staring down at the lake below her, the ice had just begun to freeze the top layer. Taking a breath Sakura's voice cracked "Because you are the piece of me, I wish I didn't need. Our love… was my remedy" taking a step forward Sakura closed her eyes as she fell, it felt like she was a bird taking flight for the very first time, it was a rather peaceful feeling.
