Episode 2: The Masquerade Ball
In a Junkyard not far away from the nearest town, Denki Kaminari is seen using his quirk to charge an old car battery, this was his quirk training, there was only 3 weeks left till the entrance exam starts and he needed to be at his A game.
He was currently wearing a white shirt with black shorts and black shoes as well as his
lack and yellow, fingerless wrist glovesHe stops using his electricity as he didn't want to fry his brain, which was a problem for his quirk, if he went over the limit of his electricity, he ends up frying his own brain and making himself a bumbling idiot for a while.
"Phew! Man that's gotta be charged now, better test it" Denki said as he picked up the car battery and attached it to a car that wasn't badly damaged, if anything it could pass for a working car if its paint wasn't rusted and the lack of a door.
He placed the battery into the hood of the car and attached the cables, he then quickly went to the drivers seat of the car and pulled out the keys for the car, he managed to get the keys from the old owner of the broken vehicle, he put the keys into the slot, "Now, the moment of truth" Denki said as he turns the key, he then heard the roar of the engine of the car, he smiled in victory.
"Yes! It worked!" he said as he turned the engine off and got out of the car.
"Here I thought my training wouldn't pay off, it's a good thing this car was still intact, otherwise I wouldn't have anything to use for my training" Denki said to himself as he went to a sofa he cleaned up and sat down before pulling out one of his haos Bakugan from his bag.
"Midoriya is lucky, his bakugan can talk yet you can't" Denki said as he tapped the bakugan with his finger, "Can I just get a little peep? Please?" he asked, but nothing, not a single word.
Suddenly a strong wind blows into the junkyard and Denki feels a strong presence nearby, "What's...going on?" he asked as he stood up from his couch and looked around, he turned around to see a newcomer in the junkyard.
"Where did you come from...?" he asked as he noticed his attire. He wears a purple and blue visor mask made out of either plastic or glass (it seems to function like a Bakupod). He also wears a white cape-like coat. It is buttoned by straps on its chest however towards the waist it is unbuttoned. At the waist if you look carefully you can see part of a blue shirt and two cross something that seem to go together. Underneath the jacket, there is what appears to be armor on his upper chest. The belt has a circular belt buckle. He had blonde hair that is styled upwards. He was also wearing boots with small heels at the bottom. These boots have straps and buckles on them as well.
"A Battle Brawler..." he noticed him hold up a Bakugan Card, and he knew what this meant. But he wanted to make sure he wasn't mistaken. "Are you challenging me to a battle? Because if you are, you're gonna have a hard time with me, I'm pretty tough when it comes to this game" Denki said as he pulled out a Bakugan card from his bag and readied his bakugan "Didn't catch your name buddy."
"I never said it... call me Masquerade." the brawler introduced himself.
Both Denki and Masquerade flipped their Bakugan Cards as they began to glow, opening a Pocket Dimension Battlefield. Later during their battle, Denki screamed as a Darkus Bakugan, with a skull looking face attacked him and his bakugan. And just like that... the battle was over.
Meanwhile at Dagobah Beach, Izuku is seen training once more and he is almost finished with cleaning the beach, however there was still some amount of large trash there so he had to move it or lose it, he was wearing his teal green tracksuit as he trained, nearby was All Might in his muscle form while in a large trench coat, who was watching Izuku train, however he wasn't just watching Izuku, but talking to his bakugan.
"So you think Young Midoriya's new Bakugan may be the one you've been looking for?" he asked.
"Indeed, I see potential in this dragonoid, not only that, but I sense much positive energy from him, ever since he appeared, more bakugan with negative energy have appeared as of late, less and less positive energy is spread around the battles now" All Mights bakugan explained, to which the Number 1. Hero thought about it and stared out at Izuku who had managed to move more trash to the large pile they made.
All Might then looked over to where Izuku had put his bag on a towel Izuku brought and saw Izuku had put the dragonoid next to the bag.
With Drago, he was watching Izuku train and was impressed with the humans progress, "I must admit, this human is determined, whatever he is training for must be very important for him to go this far, I can sense much positive determination from him, hmm" he said to himself, not knowing All Might heard this as well.
All Might had sat down near the towel and looked to Drago, "He's training to be my successor you know young bakugan" he said, to which Drago took notice, but decided to be silent.
"You don't have to talk to me if you don't want to, but I can see that you have trust issues against Young Midoriya, I understand since you're new to Earth" All Might said, Drago was impressed with this human, he knew Drago hadn't been here for long.
"But I can assure you, Young Midoriya is trustworthy, there aren't many who know my secrets, Izuku being one who knows, and he hasn't even said a peep of my secrets at all to anyone, not only that, but he is determined to become a hero, even if he is quirkless" All Might said, Drago was interested and confused, quirkless? What did that mean? Determined to become a hero?
"I'll say this young bakugan, you can trust Young Midoriya, he is a very caring boy and would do anything to help anyone, even if it would be something crazy" All Might said as he remembered what Izuku did when his friend Bakugo was captured by the slime villain, he ran in while every other pro hero just stood on the side lines, not even there bakugan could get into the action without risk of being blown away by explosions.
"...I'll consider your words human" Drago finally spoke, but was still wary. Suddenly All Mights Bakugan jumped out from hiding and landed next to Drago.
"You should young Dragonoid, Young Midoriya is quite the determined boy, he could be a great benefit to you" said the Bakugan, Drago was surprised that this bakugan was with this human, but did not speak out on it and thought more about All Mights words.
'Perhaps I can trust these two humans, but I must find a way back to Vestroia, somehow I must learn a way to move freely in this realm, but I have to hurry. Because Vestroia is in danger, Naga is behind its destruction and I must stop him. But first... I must find him.' Drago thought to himself as he focused on moving, however it proved to be very difficult in his new form.
All Mights Bakugan saw Drago struggling to move and decided to help him, "If you're trying to move in your ball form, I suggest relaxing your body and try to move as if you're in your real form, it's what helped me when I came to earth" he said.
Drago thought about his advice and decided to try it, he relaxed his muscles and tried to move as if he was still in his real form, then suddenly he opened up, he felt less restricted and more free in this form.
"Wow, it worked!" he said in astonishment, surprised he can move more freely now.
As Drago tried walking a little in his form, Izuku came running over to All Might.
"I finished my training today, All Might" Izuku said as his mentor looked at the greenettes' progress and smiled as he stood up.
"Excellent work Young Midoriya, your training has done wonders for you and your body" All Might said, to which Izuku smiled, hearing his Idol say that was the best feeling in the world, then Izuku saw Drago was open on the towel.
"Hey Drago, looks like you finally opened up" Izuku said as he picked up the dragonoid who was startled by being picked up.
"Woah, hey hey!" Drago said as he struggled a bit before Izuku placed him on his hand.
"I still can't believe it, my theory was right about Bakugan being alive and real creatures" Izuku said, to which this interested Drago somewhat.
"Do...most humans think we are not alive?" he asked.
"Well, most humans see Bakugan as...toys and game pieces" Izuku said nervously, thinking he was going to offend Drago, to which he did.
"Bakugan are not playthings for you humans! We are living creatures!" Drago yelled out, which scared Izuku a bit.
"Good luck telling that to the government" Izuku turned to where the voice came from and saw All Mights Bakugan, who was sitting on All Mights shoulder, Izuku's jaw dropped as he pointed at the bakugan.
"A-A-All Might...y-you, you h-h-have a...A-" before Izuku could speak, All Might interrupted with a hearty laugh.
"Sorry Young Midoriya, guess I should introduce you to my partner!" All Might said as he held out his massive hand as his bakugan landed onto it, "Young Midoriya, Young Drago, meet my partner, Pyrus Unitian!" he said to which Unitian let out a laugh similar to All Might.
"Fear not Humans and Bakugan alike! Because I AM HERE!" Unitarian yelled out, to which he and All Might share a laugh.
"Pyrus Unitian? I have never heard of that name before" Drago said as he tried to remember any bakugan with that name.
"That's because I kept myself a secret in Vestroia, Dragonoid" Unitian said.
"Say, since you finished your training for today early, how about we have a quick bakugan battle, Young Midoriya?" All Might asked, to which Izuku froze up.
"Y-you….want...t-t-to battle…..me?!" Izuku said in a scared tone, he knew All Might wasn't even ranked in the game, there was no need, he would've obviously been the best next to Shun.
"Of course Young Midoriya, besides, Unitian would love to see how your Drago battles" All Might said as he pulls out a bakugan card, "Well? Come on, we don't have all day".
Izuku quickly shook his head as he pulled out a bakugan card, he was extremely nervous about this.
"BAKUGAN...FIELD OPEN" They both yelled as they flipped their cards and they glowed, both red in color, they then entered the Pocket Dimension.
"GATE CARD SET!" they both yell as they throw their gate cards onto the field.
"Time to show you my brawling skills Young Midoriya! BAKUGAN BRAWL!" All Might yelled as he threw a bakugan onto a card.
"Pyrus Siege Stand!" suddenly appearing on the field was a Bakugan that looked like a knight from medieval times.
Present Mic: Wow, take a look at this fella, its Siege, Attribute: Pyrus, It is a knight in shining armor. His silk cape is used both for flying and protection. He is equipped with a lance with different blade tips depending on its attribute.
Since it was a Pyrus Siege, its blade tip was a sword as it aimed it towards Izuku.
"W-woah!" Izuku was nervous, his idol was his opponent after all, he was scared that All Mights Bakugan might as well be overpowered, Izuku checked his bakupod and sighed in relief at Sieges power level.
"Pyrus Siege enters battle at 310 G's, no other data available"
"Alright, its at 310, that's not bad, but still, it could mean trouble, I should play this safe" Izuku said as he readied a bakugan before throwing it into battle, "Bakugan Brawl!" his bakugan landed onto the same card as Siege as it opened to show Saurus, "Bakugan Stand!" Saurus then appeared on the field.
"Pyrus Saurus enters battle at 290 G's" Izuku's Bakupod said as All Might observed the battle.
"Interesting tactic Yong Midoriya, but let's see how well you take this!" All Might said as he pulled out an ability card, "Ability Activate! Fire Sword!".
The sword on Siege's lance then got covered in flames as it prepared to strike Saurus.
"Siege power level increase to 410 G's"
"Sorry, I'm not losing this battle All Might!" Izuku said as he quickly brought out an ability card, "Ability Activate! Saurus Glow!" he throws the card as it gets absorbed into Saurus, it roars as its power increases.
"Saurus Power level increase to 340 G's"
"Seems like you need work on your brawling Young Midoriya!" All Might taunted.
"I'm not done yet! Gate Card open! Energy Merge!" Izuku yelled, which surprised All Might.
"Siege power level decrease to 310 G's, Saurus power level increase to 440 G's"
Saurus quickly dodged Siege who trabbed to tab it with its lance, Saurus then performed an uppercut on Siege, defeating it as it was turned back into a ball and landed next to All Might.
'Impressive, Young Midoriya knew his ability card wouldn't give him enough power and energy merge on its own would've only given Saurus 390, a whole 50 G's behind Siege, so he combined the 2 cards to gain victory, I was right to choose you as my successor Young Midoriya" All Might thought to himself as he saw Izuku catch Saurus who returned to him.
"I'm impressed Human, you were quick to help your bakugan win even when it had the lower power level" Drago said as he floated next to Izuku.
"Well, I knew Saurus wasn't strong enough for Siege, so I planned for the energy merge card with saurus glow, allowing 150 G's to be the end result" Izuku explained, Drago was certainly impressed with the green haired boy's plan.
"I like you style Young Midoriya, but Don't think its over now! I still have 2 more Bakugan! So lets make it interesting! All Might called out.
"Right!" Izuku replied as he prepared for the next move.
All Might threw down another Gate Card right next to his own before pulling out his next bakugan.
"BAKUGAN BRAWL!" All Might yelled as he threw his bakugan onto the field and onto his own card, "Bakugan Stand!" the bakugan opened up and appeared on the field.
Present Mic: Robotallion, Attribute: Pyrus, this bakugan has metal shielding, claws and blades in its body. It is capable of slicing cleanly through any substance. It serves and protects its allies in battle.
"Robotalion enters battle at 320 G's" Izuku's bakupod announced.
"Ok, I can't go for the Saurus trick again, he'll be expecting that, so I need to throw off his focus" Izuku said before looking to Drago, "Drago, I know you probably don't trust me, since we haven't even known each other for long, but do you think you can help me in this battle?" he asked the bakugan.
Drago wasn't expecting that, he was either expecting to be just watching the battle or be thrown in without consent, but for Izuku to ask him permission to help him in a battle, Drago started to see what All Might meant about him being a caring boy.
"...Very well Human, I will help you," Drago said as Izuku smiled, "Thanks, by the way, it's Izuku" Izuku said.
"So, what's the plan?" Drago asked him, to which Izuk started to tell the bakugan his plan.
Meanwhile on All Might's end of the field, he watched with interest, "What are you planning, Young Midoriya?" he said to himself.
Unitian looked at the human and bakugan with interest, "Hmm, I sense that those two are formulating a plan" he said which caught All Might's attention.
"Got any idea what that plan could be, old friend?" he asked his bakugan.
"No clue, but whatever it is, it's gotta be interesting if Young Drago is putting his trust in Izuku" he said when they see Izuku preparing to throw a Bakugan.
"Bakugan Brawl!" Izuku said as he threw his Bakugan onto the same card as Robotallion, "Mantris Stand" suddenly a Pyrus Mantris appears on the card as the giant bug and Robotallion face off.
"Pyrus Mantris power level at 280 G's" Izuku's Bakupod announced.
"Seems like you put yourself between a rock and a hard place Young Midoriya, for you have stepped into my trap!" All Might announced as he made his move, "Gate Card Open! Quicksand Freeze!" The card glowed into a grey battlefield, suddenly Mantris' feet sunk into the card, preventing it's escape.
"Lets see you find a way out of that Young Midoriya!" All Might boasted.
"I wont need to All Might, Because my plan is only half complete" Izuku said, making All Might stop boasting and have a look of confusion, "Gate card set!" Izuku said as he threw down a gate card next to the card Mantris and Robotallion are on "Bakugan Brawl!" Izuku said as he threw in another Bakugan, Drago, onto his card.
"Drago Stand!" Suddenly, where Drago landed, a giant tower of flames rose up, slowly emerging from the tower of flames was Drago, flying in the battlefield, letting out a roar with his wings spread open.
"Ah, when he releases me I can move freely in this world" Drago said to himself as he felt his real form again.
Present Mic: Woah-ho-ho, get a load of this big guy, say hello to Drago, short for Dragonoid! Attribute: Pyrus! With wicked clawed hands and feet and a super-sharp horn, a Dragonoid is a Bakugan to be reckoned with. Don't even bother to try hiding from this creature. A Dragonoid is an expert at seek-and-destroy combat. Highly intelligent, Dragonoids may not be the most agile Bakugan, but they make up for it with their powerful attacks.
"Incredible, so this is what Drago looks like in the flesh, I must say, you look very powerful Young Drago!" All Might said as he looked at his own Bakupod to see the power levels.
"Pyrus Dragonoid enters battle at 340 G's"
"Impressive Young Drago, your power level is incredible, not many bakugan can start out with such power" All Might complimented.
"That's not all, All Might!" Izuku said as he pulled out an ability card, "Ability activate! Marionette!" Suddenly Mantris' eyes flashed before it then released some sort of energy strings from its scythe like arms that wrapped around Robotallion, "Now, send him to Drago, Mantris!" Izuku commanded as Mantris went with the order and sent Robotallion to Drago's card.
'So, that was your plan Young Midoriya, Mantris was the distraction while Drago is the main opponent' All Might thought as he prepared an ability card.
As Robotallion landed on the new card, Drago prepared to attack, "Your my opponent now Robotallion!" he roared out.
"Sorry Young Drago, but I'm not going to lose for a second time in a row!" All Might said as he activated his ability, "Ability card activate! Robotallion enforcement!" Suddenly Robotallions body glowed in red energy with flames surrounding him.
"Robotallion Power level increase to 420 G's"
Izuku however smirked, "Ready Drago?" he asked his new bakugan partner.
"Ready!" Drago answered back, All Might was curious now, what did Izuku plan?
"Ability card activate! Fire Tornado!" Drago was then covered in a fire tornado, Drago then charged at Robotallion.
"Robotallion power decrease to 320 G's, Dragonoid power increase to 440 G's"
Drago then collided with Robotallion, defeating it as Robotallion turned back to ball form and landed next to All Might.
Drago then returned back to Izuku in ball form as Izuku caught him.
"Thanks Drago, you were awesome," Izuku said.
"I should be thanking you Izuku, your plan worked perfectly," Drago said.
"Well, I'm sure you would've done something yourself if I didn't think of something" Izuku said, Drago saw him as a pure hearted person, it was like he didn't have a single evil bone in his body.
"Nonsense Izuku, the plan was perfect and it worked" Drago said as Izuku smiled at his partners words, "Thanks Drago" Izuku said.
All Might saw the two talk and knew they would be great partners, "So Young Midoriya, looks like you really want to face Unitian, so don't say you had no warning, because I want to face all of your bakugan!" All Might said as Izuku got worried, Unitian must have been very powerful if he needed to have all of his bakugan battle.
"Alright, let's do this'' Izuku said as he threw down another gate card, "Gate card set" then he threw in Saurus, "Bakugan Brawl!" Saurus then landed onto his card, "Saurus Stand!" Saurus then rose up onto the card.
"Now Young Midoriya, say hello to my partner" All Might said as he then threw in Unitian onto the card Mantris was still trapped on, "Pyrus Unitian Stand!".
Suddenly a large tornado appeared, its colours were of all the colors of the attributes as they formed into an orb in the air, bursting out of the orb was a knight looking bakugan, however it looked very different from other knight types like Siege.
Its helmet was shaped like a dragon's head with horns on it, dragon claws on its gauntlets and boots, the shoulder pads were shaped like dragon heads with large horns pointing outwards, on its chest plate was a design of a dragon's face with a blue diamond placed right on the middle.
Izuku and Drago could look into this bakugans eyes and see a very powerful bakugan in front of them
Present Mic: WOAH-HO-HO! Now here is a Bakugan you don't wanna mess with, this is Unitian! Attribute: Pyrus, this Bakugan has been considered the power type bakugan with an unspeakable power, Unitian is All Mights Bakugan Partner, and it certainly shows!
Izuku checked his Bakupod and was beyond shocked, terrified even.
"Pyrus Unitian Enters battle at 850 G's"
"H-holy crap...its p-power level is off the charts" Izuku said as he shook, he saw no chance at winning now, Siege and Robotallion were the warm up, Unitian is Bakugan god himself.
"Such power, I can sense it even from here" Drago said as he too was terrified at Unitians power.
"Hahaha! My partner warned you Young Midoriya!" Unitian said as his booming voice shook the battle field.
Izuku didn't know what to do, no matter what, even with Drago, he didn't see any chance at winning this battle, Drago saw this and was worried, the greenette was looking like he was going to have a panic attack.
"Izuku? IZUKU!" Drago said, snapping Izuku out of his scared thoughts, "I know Unitians power is great, but we must think of a plan" Drago said.
"Y-yeah...your right" Izuku said as he tried thinking of one, before suddenly getting an idea, 'That's it! It's risky, but if I use Mantris' Marionette ability again and drag Unitian to the triple battle gate card Saurus is on, then I could have Drago and Saurus Double team up, then with giving both of them a power boost, I might have a chance' Izuku had a determined look as he pulled out the ability card, 'But first, I need to stun him' Izuku thought, "Ability card activate! Slice Cutter!" Mantris' arms glowed as it then proceed to slice Unitian.
"Unitian power decrease to 800 G's"
Unitan staggered as Izuku pulled out another ability card, "Ability Activate! Marionette!" Mantris then did the same thing he did with Robotallion and grabbed Unitian and sent the Draconic Knight Bakugan onto Saurus card.
"Ah, I see your mind has thought of another plan Young Midoriya, please, show me your idea and how it works" Unitian said as he waited for Izuku's next move.
Izuku smirked, "Gate Card open! Triple battle!" The card glowed as a mystical wall of energy appeared between Saurus and Unitian, Izuku then looked to Drago, "Ready for another battle, Drago?" he asked.
"I'm ready!" Drago said as he closed up and Izuku grabbed him.
"Bakugan Brawl!" he threw Drago onto the same card as Saurus, "Drago Stand!".
Drago then appeared on the card and looked towards Unitian across the battlefield as the wall disappeared.
"You're a very powerful Bakugan Unitian, I have never seen such power before, how did you obtain it?" he asked the draconic knight bakugan.
"I would love to tell you Drago I really would, but first, I must see how much power you have before I can say anything" Unitian said
"But before that" All Might said as he pulled out an ability card, "Lets deal with your little trickster Young Midoriya!" All Might said as he threw the ability card as it was absorbed into Unitia, "Ability Activate!"
"Ventus Air Bullet!" Unitian announced as suddenly, his armor changed from the colours of Pyrus, to Ventus, green instead of red, he then looked towards Mantris as he aimed a punch at the trapped Bakugan.
"Have a taste of my power! VENTUS STRIKE!" Suddenly, Unitian let out a punch in the air, then a large power burst of wind with ventus energy was launched at Mantris, defeating it as it turned back into a ball and landed next to Izuku.
Izuku was surprised, it didn't raise the power of Unitian, but it completely defeated Mantris and when Unitian said Ventus Strike, it sounded a lot like when All Might announced his smash moves.
"Izuku!" Izuku looked to where Drago had called him, "Don't cease up now, we got this!" Drago said, Izuku nodded at this as he pulled out the ability cards he needed.
"Ability activate! Saurus Glow and Boosted Dragon!" he yelled as Saurus' and Drago's power increased.
"Saurus power increase to 390 G's, Drago power increase to 440 G's, combined power levels at 830 G's" Izuku's bakupod said as he saw he might have a chance at winning.
"Get him guys!" Izuku yelled as Saurus proceeded to charge at Unitian while Drago shot a fireball from his mouth and at the Draconic Knight.
"All Might?" Unitarian said before All Might pulled out another ability card.
"Ability activate!" All Might said before Unitian crossed his arms in an X position.
"Subterra Stone Barricade!" Unitians armor changed again, this time to Subterra as it became brown, then suddenly a large wall made of stone rose from the ground and blocked Saurus' charge and Drago's attack.
"Unitian power increase by 150 G's, current power level at 950 G's"
"Oh man" Izuku said as he got worried again.
Unitian smirked under his helmet as the wall disappeared back into the ground, he looked to his opponents, "My power isn't something to take lightly" he then winds up both of his arms as they get covered in orange energy, he aims both fists at Saurus, "Now, SUBTERRA STRIKE!" he unleashes both punches at Saurus, which they suddenly are covered in stone as they make contact, sending Saurus flying out of the field and turning back into a ball as it rolled next to Izuku.
Izuku was worried, he was now down to Drago, his power level sitting at 440, while Unitian was close to nearly 1,000.
"Sorry Young Midoriya, but it's over" All Might said as he brought out another ability card.
Drago could see Izuku was struggling and had ran out of ideas and he understood why, Unitian was the most powerful bakugan the Dragonoid has ever seen, trying to defeat him was pointless, but he wasn't going to give up easily, he trusts Izuku and his plans had worked so far, now its time for Drago to help Izuku win this battle.
"Ability activate! Dark Lunar Blade!" All Might yelled as Unitians armor turned to purple and indigo.
Unitian then formed darkus energy into his hands before they formed into a sword with shining energy as the blade.
"Sorry Drago, but this battle is finished!" Unitian then unleashed a powerful slash of his sword at Drago.
"Its not over yet!" Izuku and Drago said in unison as Izuku pulled out his last resort, another Boosted Dragon card.
But before Izuku could even use the card, the blade slashed at Drago, but it didn't do anything, suddenly Drago roared as his entire body glowed red in power, his body looked like it was on fire, Izuku looked to his bakupod and was shocked.
"Drago power level increasing"
"Drago's power is rising!" Izuku said.
"ULTIMATE BOOST!" Drago yelled as suddenly, Izuku's ability card shattered, the entire field was surrounded by energy and fire.
Unitian stared at Drago as the Dragonoids power kept rising, "Well well, would you look at that" Unitian said as he smiled, his armor returning to its normal colors, "You certainly are the right one after all" he said.
The entire battle field glowed white before it vanished.
Back on Dagobah beach, Izuku and All Might looked around, noticing they were back on the beach and the field was gone.
"W...what happened?" Izuku questioned.
"I...don't know young Midoriya" All Might said before noticing Unitian and Drago were in ball form and on the sand, Izuku also noticed this and rushed to them.
"Drago!" Izuku yelled as he picked them up and ran back to All Might, giving All Might Unitian.
"Drago, are you ok buddy?" Izuku asked, after a few seconds, Drago opened up with a groan.
"Ugh...that was intense," Drago said.
Unitian opened up as he groaned also, "Yeah...I have never felt such power before" he said before turning to Drago, "But...now I see I was right" Izuku and Drago stared at the bakugan with confusion.
"What do you mean?" Drago asked.
"Drago, Izuku...let me tell you the origin of my powers" Unitian said as Izuku and Drago paid full attention.
Unitian began as he thought back on how he got his power, showing a flashback
"Before Bakugan made contact with earth, I was but a simple knight bakugan, like a Siege, but I was different, I had more curiosity around me, so, without thinking, I had somehow found my way outside the Pyrus space of Vestroia"
The flashback showed Unitian without his draconic armor, he looked like a siege, only he had a smaller helmet compared to siege and had no lance, he also lacked armor that covered his entire body, only his torso and legs, he is seen floating outside of the Pyrus space before he saw something on a rocky platform.
"What I found was simply amazing but concerning, a old dragonoid bakugan, it had colours of all the attributes, but I also noticed...it was dying"
The dragonoid has multi colored wings, showing colours of all the attributes, its hide was red, brown and orange, while its underbelly had pink, white and blue colours, its head showed patterns coloured in every attribute, but on its chest was a symbol the past Unitian couldn't recognize, it was a golden circle with an ancient looking symbol, it resembled a gear or wheel with six holes around it.
The past Unitian saw a massive stab wound that punctured its back and through its chest and gashes on the side.
"The Dragonoid saw me and told me it needed a successor, another dragonoid to make sure the power it held would never fade away, but since it couldn't go on much further...I had to be the successor to hold the power"
Past Unitian stared at the dragonoid in shock at its words before the dragonoid suddenly unleashed a beam of multiple colors into Unitians chest from its mouth, the golden symbol on its chest losing the golden colour, the dragonoid then fell down, life now completely gone from its body.
Past Unitian looked on before suddenly letting out a roar similar to a dragonoid as he went under a transformation.
"After the power was passed onto me...I evolved, so the power could mix into my DNA"
Past Untian admired his new body, looking like the present Unitian, before he saw the lifeless Dragonoid body and decided to do the honorable thing and bury it, not wanting the body of this bakugan to be left to rot.
"Then I went into hiding, to keep this power safe, then came the event where Bakugan, traveled to earth"
The flashback then shows Past Unitian carefully maneuvering outside the Attribute spaces before suddenly a portal appears, sucking many Bakugan, including himself into it.
Past Unitian then appears in ball form, in a field of grass before a shadow overcasts him, revealing to be All Might in his hero outfit.
"Then I met All Might, and since then, we became partners" Unitian finished his story.
"But I don't understand" Drago said as Izuku put him on his shoulder, "I never heard of such a power from Dragonoids, why wasn't I told this?" he asked
"Because Drago, this power is something that was meant to be kept secret and passed on from Dragonoid to Dragonoid, me and that Dragonoid unfortunately broke that tradition and no other dragonoid has heard of that power...until now" Unitian said as he faced Drago.
"Drago, as I have been the successor for this power in the past, you will now become my successor, and make this power yours" Unitian said, to which surprised both Drago and Izuku.
"Y-you want Drago to have you amazing power?!" Izuku asked.
"But why?" Drago asked.
Unitian looked downcasted as he replied, "I'll be honest with you, this power wasn't meant for a Bakugan like me, so as I use it...it is slowly destroying me" Unitian said to which Izuku and Drago were shocked at this news.
Izuku saw that Unitian and All Might were very alike, they both shared a power that was very important, one had led to All Might pushing himself on hero work, the other one was destroying Unitian.
"The power was meant for Dragonoids, and Dragonoids alone, no other bakugan should hold the power" Unitian said, "I was always meant to be just a temporary holder till the right one appears".
Drago thought about this and it made sense, Bakugan were meant to hold individual powers and abilities, one cannot hold a power so different from their own biology.
"I ask you Drago...will you accept this power as the rightful owner and use it for the right reasons" Unitian asked Drago, both All Might and Izuku waited anxiously for an answer.
"...Yes" Drago answered, "I will accept this power, not just for you to live Unitian or that I'm its rightful owner, but I will use it to save other Bakugan, as well as help Izuku reach his dream on being a hero" Izuku was shocked at this, Drago was going to help Izuku become a great hero.
Izuku let out tears of joy at hearing this as he looked to Drago, "Thank you Drago…" Izuku said as he let the tears fall, Drago nodded at Izuku.
"Now Drago, before I give it to you, you shall train with Izuku in future battles, I believe you will encounter great battles ahead of you, you also might have to be careful with that Ultimate Boost move Drago, it seems very tiring, so watch out for that" Unitian said.
"I will, Unitian," Drago said, to which he and Izuku looked at each other, ready for whatever was ahead of them.
Meanwhile, Bakugo was walking back from his personal training grounds, he finished another day of training and was feeling very confident in himself, 'Heh! Wouldn't be surprised that I'll be the one to come out first as a hero in U.A, I bet I'll be the most powerful one in class, no way any losers like Deku will be allowed in, they only accept the best of the best, nobody else-' suddenly, Bakugou felt a strong wind blow past him, he didn't know why, but he felt like he was being watched.
"The hell?" he asked before hearing something behind him and noticed something atop of the nearby metal fences, it was Masquerade, he was standing on the fence with perfect balance, Bakugo raised an eyebrow in confusion at the masked person, "Who the hell are you?" he asked, Masquerade smirked as he jumped off the fence and in front of Bakugo.
Masquerade pulled out his bakugan card and looked at Bakugo, "My name is Masquerade, I heard alot about you Katsuki Bakugo" he said, Bakugo smirked evilly as he saw the card, he pulled out his own card and pulled out 3 pyrus bakugan from his bag.
"Really now, so you must know that I'm one of the best brawlers there is, because nobody has won a battle against me!" Bakugo said, Masquerade just smirks at this.
"Well then, prepare to face reality Bakugo" Masquerade said before they flipped the cards, opening the field.
Time froze around them as birds froze mid flight and cars froze on the road, however just as time froze, it started back up once more.
Bakugo is now seen with a stunned and shocked expression, he looks roughed up as well, like he had just been in a fight himself, he soon falls to his knees and looks to Masquerade, who just smirks in victory.
"What...what did you do?" Bakugo asked the masked player, Masquerade does nothing but smirk as he turns away and walks away.
Bakugo just looks at the ground before scowling and with more anger than he has ever felt before, he punches the ground in pure aggression, leaving small cracks in it as he thought on what happened, Masquerades 1 bakugan took out his entire team, and they were gone...gone through a strange portal.
Later on at Izuku's apartment, it was dark out as Izuku was talking with Drago in his bedroom.
When Drago saw his room, he was very surprised at how much All Might stuff was in the room.
"You seem to idolize All Might very much Izuku" Drago said as he sat at Izuku's desk.
Izuku laughed nervously, "w-well yeah, he is the number 1 hero after all, who wouldn't seem him as the best?" he said.
Drago then turned to Izuku, "By the way there's something that's bothering me" he said.
"What is it?" Izuku asked.
"Back at the beach, All Might said you were quirkless, what does that mean?" he asked, Izuku cringed at this before realising something.
"That's right, you don't know about humans and quirks" Izuku said as he then began to explain about quirks.
"You see, 80% of the human population on earth developed abilities known as quirks, they allow people to have super powers, they can do anything, from fly, to have super strength, shapeshifting and more, however that leaves 20% of the population to be quirkless, people with no powers whatsoever" Izuku explained.
"So, you are a part of that 20%" Drago said, which Izuku nodded sadly.
"Yeah, those without quirks are usually treated as freaks, people who aren't normal, I was part of that, many people in my school would bully me for not having powers, including Kacchan" Izuku said.
"Kacchan?" Drago asked.
"He's my childhood friend, we've been friends since kindergarten, we did everything together, that was, until he developed his quirk, he could make explosions from his nitroglycerin like sweat he excretes from his hands and body" Izuku said as he explained more about his life on being bullied and how he encountered All Might and then trained to be All Mights successor.
Drago listened on but there was one thing he didn't like in this, it was this Kacchan, he bullied Izuku for most of his life just because he had no powers, it was horrible, he didn't understand why Izuku would admire someone who bullied him on a daily basis.
"Then things changed when the Bakugan appeared" Izuku said which caught Drago's attention.
"When they appeared, I became more confident, they helped me be more confident in myself, I could battle anyone, even without a quirk, me, Kacchan and our friends became strong brawlers in Bakugan" Drago was impressed and surprised, Bakugan helped Izuku be more confident in himself.
"So Bakugan helped your life get better?" he asked.
"Yeah, they helped me alot, and with them a part of our society now in hero work, news has spread that bakugan will be involved in U.A, the most successful hero school ever" Izuku said before he realised, "Speaking of which, I should check in on my friends, they are taking the test for U.A as well" Izuku said as he logged onto his computer, the video chats starting up.
"Hey guys, how's it going-" before Izuku could continue, suddenly only Bakugo appeared, filling his entire screen with Bakugos angry face which had a bandage over his head.
"IT'S ABOUT TIME YOU DAMN NERD!" Bakugo yelled as Izuku freaked out and fell backwards out of his chair.
"W-what's wrong Kacchan?! Why are you so angry?!" Izuku asked, wondering why Bakugo was angrier than usual.
"YOU BETTER REALISE IT WAS YOUR FAULT I LOST A BAKUGAN BATTLE TODAY!" Bakugo yelled.
"Wait what? What are you talking about Kacchan?" Izuku asked, Bakugo never lost a Bakugan battle before, it was unheard of.
"This creep called Masquerade came along and destroyed me and my Bakugan!" Bakugo said as the screen changed back to the normal multi video screen.
"He did the same with me, totally clobbered me" Denki said as he looked sad.
"From my research, he's been winning battles all over the world" Yayorozou said, which got Izuku curious and upset. Two of his friends were attacked and beaten by this new brawler, Bakugo looked worse for wear, maybe Masquerade did more than battle Bakugan.
"Not to mention every chat room I checked is filled with kids talking about Masquerade" Alice said with a worried tone.
"So, what's his deal?" Izuku asked.
Mina was next to talk, "He's won every single battle he's been in and kids everywhere are losing their bakugan like crazy!".
"Woah, like 'everywhere' everywhere?!" Uraraka said as she was shocked at this news.
"Yeah, he's scary strong" Mina answered.
"Denki, Kacchan, did he get your bakugan?" he asked, Bakugo looked ticked off and didn't talk, which meant he did lose his Bakugan.
"Uh huh...my super cool Terrorclaw is gone for good," Denki said as he looked saddened on remembering what happened.
"We gotta do something Midori!" Mina said, clearly wanting something done about the masked brawler.
Izuku thought about this, he could hear Bakugo ranting on how there definitely was something to be done while Uraraka and Yayorozou tried to calm him down, Izuku then put on a determined face as he knew what to do.
"Don't worry guys! you can count on me." Izuku said which got everyone's attention, "If he comes anywhere near me looking for a battle, I'll win everyone's Bakugan back. Including your Terrorclaw Denki, and your partners too Kacchan." he said as everyone was surprised by what he said. "That masked morons going down!"
Denki could only smile at his friend's bravery. "Awesome...thanks Izuku," he said.
"Oh Midori, I wish I could just hug you!" said Mina.
"Me too..." Alice agreed.
"He messed with my friends, so either he faces me in battle or he hides in the shadows like the creep he is!" his friends heard him and could feel his determination from where they were.
"You should take caution Izuku, Masquerade is quite strong" Yayorozou said
"Yeah, do you know what he's ranked at?" asked Uraraka.
Izuku didn't realise, he was ready to face someone he didn't even know what ranking they were.
"Uh..well…" Izuku said nervously.
"The latest update on the web puts him bang on at Number 01!" said Yayorozou, only to get a shocked expression from Izuku.
"Yoooouuuu have got to be kidding!" said Izuku, filled with shock and surprise. Izuku couldn't believe it, Masquerade being Number 01? That was just plain crazy.
"That's impossible... the best Bakugan Battle Brawler should be Shun..." he said knowing it was true.
"Something is weird here... I have got to fix it." he shut his eyes and held his head in the air. "No matter the danger, no matter the risk, no matter the enemy, I will march into battle with my head held high, and return victorious! This is my quest to follow that-" before he could finish his speech...
"Um, Izuku...?" Alice interrupted him...
"Huh? Whats up?" he asked her
"One question... how are you going to challenge Masquerade if you don't even know where he is?" she asked him only to catch him off guard. Bakugo leaned closer to his screen with a smirk.
"Didn't think that one through, did you?" he asked him with a smug grin. Izuku was about to answer, but he couldn't think of anything at all.
"Right... Yeah well, that is a good question..." he said but shook his head, "Still, that doesn't mean I won't battle him, I'll get him to come out of hiding one way or another" Izuku said with determination.
Twenty minutes rolled by, and Izuku finally figured out a way to contact Masquerade. If he made a recorded message on his computer, and sent it to him, he'll be able to battle him. But it turns out... getting the right message was a lot harder than he thought. "Hey Masquerade, Izuku here! How's about a little battle?" he said but realized that was terrible. "Aw man that won't work..."
"Maybe if I talked more like Kacchan..." said Izuku as he looked back to the camera. "How about this...? Hey Masquerade! I'm sick and tired of you bullying brawlers, so you're going down! That is if you're man enough to challenge me! Well are you?!" he asked as he got closer to the camera. "Are you going to keep hiding behind that little mask of yours like the total poser you really are?! Your Bakugan are mine, you understand me?!" he said as he pulled away from the camera. "The names Izuku, and I'm challenging you to a battle! I'm the new number one in town!" he boasted unaware Drago was watching.
"Izuku I doubt sounding like your aggressive friend makes you that threatening..." he said, not feeling that threatened at Izuku's 'threat'.
"Well what else am I to do Drago? Masquerade is ranked number 1 and he took down my friends and took their bakugan, I can't just sit by and watch what happens." he explained to him.
"I understand Izuku, but don't let anger blind you" Drago said as he saw Izuku very concerned about this Masquerade, "You care a lot about your friends don't you?" Drago said.
"Yeah, more than anything, I met them when Bakugan first appeared, I don't want anything bad to happen to them, so seeing them upset about this, I have to take action" Izuku said.
Drago stared for a moment before speaking, "I understand, but remember, Bakugan isn't just a game anymore, we are living creatures" Drago reminded Izuku.
Izuku nodded at this, "Yeah I know, I can't think of any bakugan as game pieces, besides, I never thought of them as that for a long time, even when we first got them" Izuku said before he looked to Drago, "So Drago, are you feeling excited about obtaining that power Unitian has?" he asked.
"To be honest it does sound incredible, I just hope I can handle it" Drago said as he did imagine himself with that power ever since Unitian said he would be the successor for it.
At a hidden lair, Masquerade was sitting at his computer, and he found a message from Izuku Midoriya. He played the message to see what it is.
"Hey Masquerade I know you're out there. So if you're listening, what do you say you show yourself and we have a battle? Winner takes all, and the loser walks away with nothing." Izuku declared, this definitely caught Masquerade's attention. "But I warn ya I'm good, my Dragonoid and me are gonna blow your doors off. Nobody bullies the brawlers and gets away with it! So here's the deal pal. Tomorrow in the afternoon, underneath the railroad bridge at Pondale Avenue, that's where it's going down. And you better show up you freak, do I make myself clear Masquerade?" Izuku asked as Masquerade only smirked at the video.
It was the next day, Izuku was quickly running down the road trying to get to the Railroad Bridge. "Come on, come on! Sorry, excuse me!" he ran past a few people trying to reach his destination. "Move it! Heads up, coming through!" he said as he ran past a few people. 'This is gonna be tough, but I feel so pumped up, Masquerade is gonna regret beating me friends.' he thought to himself as he quickly made his way to the Railroad Bridge.
When he arrived at his location, Izuku looked around for Masquerade. "So, is he here? He better show up..." he said as he walked in, but he soon saw someone. "Huh? You're here...?" he asked curiously to who it is... then out of nowhere...
"We've been waiting for ya." said Akira as he came through the doorway. Shuji turned to face him.
"Its too bad your buddy Masquerade didn't show up." said Shuji with a grin. Izuku freaked out and fell to the floor.
"Oh come on not again! I don't have time for you! We don't have to do this Shuji, can you please leave...?" he tried to ask them as nicely as he possibly could.
"You owe me, I demand a rematch. So pull out your cards, and lets get this battle underway punk." Shuji said as he pulled out his card. "Ready or not...?"
Izuku only gave him a deadpanned look, knowing history is gonna repeat itself. "Give me a break...this is a complete waste of our time. Well... might as well get this over with." he said as he pulled out his card. "You want a piece of me?! Well come and get it!"
"Yeah, okay!" said Shuji.
"BAKUGAN... FIELD OPEN!" said both brawlers as they entered the Battlefield. "It's on!" they yelled out.
Drago sat on Izuku's shoulder and proceeded to watch the battles until it was his turn to battle.
Two battles were won by Izuku, Shuji's Ventus Robotallion and Gargonoid were both defeated as Serpanoid was on Izuku's card, it had just defeated Gargonoid.
"I can't believe you beat my Robotallion and Gargonoid!" he said as he began to fume.
"Hate to break it to you Shuji, but beating you isn't rocket science." he said as a smirk formed over his face, "So, are you ready to lose again?".
Shuji only got more angry at what he said. "We'll just see about that, BRING IT!" yelled as he grabbed his next Bakugan.
Izuku turned to Drago, "Hey Drago, got any ideas in mind?" he asked his partner.
"Yes, there is something I want to try, I sense his Bakugan has negative energy inside them, before we finish this battle, I want to try and reason with them, if it doesn't work, we will defeat them" Drago said as Izuku nodded.
"Right, any precautions you want just in case?" Izuku asked.
"Perhaps, use a Fire Wall, it will trap them in with me so they don't have any escape" Drago said.
"Alright, you ready Drago?" he asked as he pulled out the fire wall card.
"I'm ready Izuku" Drago said as he curled up and Izuku grabbed him.
"Okay Drago, let's finish this. Bakugan Brawl!" he yelled out as he threw Drago onto the battlefield. "Bakugan Stand!" Drago opened up as flames circled around him. Izuku watched in awe as a pillar of flames rose from the Battlefield, and from the heart of the flames. Drago emerged from the fires he came out of, roaring out as he surprised Shuji.
"A... A Dragonoid...?" he asked in disbelief.
Izuku held up an Ability Card. "Here it comes Drago, Ability Card Activate!" he yelled out as he tossed the card. It burst into flames forming a Fire Wall around Drago. Drago folded his wings and descended to the ground.
Shuji formed a sly grin on his face, thinking he had this battle in the bag.
"This is the opening I've been waiting for. Bakugan Brawl!" he yelled out as he threw out his next Bakugan, which was a Ventus Falconeer. "Bakugan Stand!" Falconeer landed on the Gate Card and reverted to his true form.
"Falconeer Power Level 320 G's" said Izuku's Bakupod. Izuku looked at Serpenoids power level seeing it was higher than Falconeers.
"His power level is lower than Serpenoids, but I know Shuji has something else in mind if he waited for Drago to appear." he said confidently.
"Hey, I might be low on power, but your Dragonoid is useless against my Falconeers Wind Attribute!" he said as he pulled out two ability cards. "And just to be safe, I'm gonna amp it up a notch! Ability Activate! Jump Over! And Correlation between Ventus and Pyrus!" he yelled out as a tornado swirled around Falconeer.
Izuku watched with shock as Falconeer made it over Drago's Fire Wall, "He jumped over the Fire Wall?" asked Izuku with a surprised expression.
"Be careful Drago!" yelled Izuku as Drago and Falconeer began to fight each other.
"The only way to fight Fire, is to use a little Wind. You thought your Dragonoid had a lot more power than my Falconeer? Wrong! Fire is trumped by Wind!" Shuji explained with a smug grin on his face.
"Falconeer Power Level Increase to 400 G's. Drago power level remains at 340 G's" said the Bakupod.
"Not good, Drago what do we do?!" asked Izuku as he started to panic. Drago roared out as Falconeer swooped down and tackled Drago.
"Faloneer! Our fight isn't with each other!" said Drago as he struggled with Falconeer.
"I fight using my instincts Dragonoid!" said Falconeer as he went to strike him. Drago snarled at him and dodged his attack and threw him off. He growled fiercely at Falconeer as he stood ready.
"Come to your senses! It is Negative Energy that drives you!" he said to him, but his words fell on def ears. Falconeer screeched and bite down on Drago's neck causing him to writhe in pain.
"Drago!" Izuku yelled out to him worriedly, Drago knew there was no chance of reasoning with Falconeer. So he had to do something about it.
"You leave me no choice!" said Drago as he roared out causing the Fire Wall to close in on both him and Falconeer. The Fire Wall forced Falconeer back into Ball Form, as he landed next to Shuji.
"The Fire Wall's smothered to the wind." said Izuku as the flames around Drago went down, Drago looked to Shuji with an intense glare. He then reverted back to Ball Form as the Pocket Dimension Battlefield disappeared returning them to the real world. Izuku smirked at Shuji. "You lose..."
"WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THIS TO ME?!" Shuji asked as he whined, even Akira knew for a fact he lost.
"Aw man, look what happened to ya. Didn't I tell ya, but no~! Mr. Big Shot wouldn't listen! And now look what happened to ya!" said Akira only to get a scowl from his older brother.
"Can it Akira! I'm going home to mommy!" he ran off crying.
"Hey!" he yelled but turned to Izuku. "Catch you guys later slick!" he ran off to follow him.
"Why can't Shuji just accept the defeat? At this point I feel like he's a glutton for punishment" said Izuku as he watched them leave.
"Hey Drago, way to pull off the win. To be honest, I was getting a little nervous back there." Izuku said to him, "I appreciate your concern Izuku, but you don't have to worry. I'm perfectly alright." said Drago with a soft tone to reassure the greenette.
"Well, I guess we just have to wait here until Masquerade shows up-" before he could finish his sentence, he sensed something from the dark hallway. He looked to it, hearing footsteps as he started to feel really tense.
"I'm looking for Izuku Midoriya..." said a voice that came out of the hall. Izuku looked at the hall as a figure walked out of it.
"That you Masquerade...?" he asked hoping it was him. And from the darkness of the hall, Masquerade had arrived.
"So, you decided to show up and I decide to put a face to the name. Well Masquerade... I hear you've been stealing my buddies Bakugan. How come?!" he asked Masquerade with anger in his voice. But instead of answering Izuku, Masquerade instantly pulled out his Field Card. Izuku knew by the smug grin on his face, he was serious. "We put a lot into organizing this game... and there's no way I'm gonna let you, or anyone mess it up. It stops here Masquerade!" said Izuku with a determined look.
Masquerade smirked as he held his card. "It's time to battle Izuku... ready...?" asked Masquerade. Izuku was starting to get the feeling that this battle might be different from before.
"FIELD OPEN!" Izuku and Masquerade yelled out as they entered the Pocket Dimension Battlefield. Dan and Masquerade prepared themselves for battle. "Gate Card set!" they yelled as they threw out their gate cards. letting them grow onto the battlefield.
"Okay, remember to concentrate. Don't let your anger get the best of you." Izuku said, reminding himself of what Drago advised him.
Masquerade then pulled out a card Izuku never saw before. It had the skull of a dragon on the front of it.
Masquerade held it out and dropped it onto the battlefield. "Your move..." as the card landed on the Battlefield, it disappeared sending a strange wave of energy. Izuku could almost feel the energy as he felt a chill from his spine
"I got a bad feeling, especially from that card he just dropped...it felt wrong...evil even" Izuku said to himself, not knowing Drago definitely felt the energy.
"That energy that came from the card, it was negative energy from the Silent core...but how…" Drago wondered. Izuku noticed Drago was concerned with the card Masquerade threw down, it made Izuku more concerned.
'Whatever he threw down has Drago spooked... I have to be careful, I'll use my Serpenoid card with higher G's.' Izuku thought to himself. He reached and pulled out his Serpenoid and threw it out. "Come on Serpenoid do some damage! Bakugan Stand!" Serpenoid landed on the card and transformed into its true form. It looked to Masquerade and hissed at him.
Masquerade slowly rose his hand into the air with his shooter around his wrist. "Bakugan Brawl!" he yelled out as he shot his Bakugan to the same card Serpenoid was on. It opened up revealing a skeletal looking Bakugan, it then transformed into its true form. Its name was... "Reaper stand!" yelled Masquerade as Darkus Reaper revealed himself. Reaper's form resembles a humanoid skeleton having deadly wings for agility in battle, and sharp, devil-like horns on its head.
Present Mic: Check out this spooky dude, its Reaper, Attribute: Darkus, just like the Grim Reaper of lore, Reaper carries a sharp, curved scythe that he uses to cut his opponents down to size. Reaper is fueled by rage, and his attacks are especially ferocious and cruel. You'll recognize Reaper by the horns on his head and skeletal wings on his back.
"Reaper power level 370 G's, Serpenoid power level 320 G's." said Izuku's Bakupod.
Izuku was determined to defeat him. "Gate Card Open now!" he called out as his Gate Card glowed boosting up Serpenoids power level.
"Serpenoid power level increase to 620 G's." said Izuku's Bakupod.
"Alright Masquerade, time to put up or shut up! Let's see you trump that bad boy!" said Izuku as he provoked Masquerade and Reaper. Big mistake though...
"Ability Card Activate... Dimension 4..." said Masquerade as his card glowed. The flames around Serpenoid were put out instantly. Izuku shielded himself from the flames feeling surprised.
"What was that?!" asked Izuku with shock.
"Just one of my many pets, it's an ability card called Dimension 4." Masquerade explained to her as Izuku looked at his Bakupod.
"Serpenoid power level dropped to 320 G's." said Izuku's Bakupod. Dan and the Mane Six panicked as Reaper leaped into the air and charged at Serpenoid.
"Serpenoid!" cried out Izuku as Reaper swung his scythe at him, striking him down. Then out of nowhere, a portal opened in the middle of the battle. And Serpenoid was sent into another dimension. Izuku was scared out of his mind as he heard the painful screams Serpenoid made. "Oh no... he took my beast right out of the battle." said Izuku as Reaper reverted to ball form and returned to Masquerade.
"What incredible power..." said Drago, but seeing that portal was very concerning, it felt so evil.
Izuku shook his head to concentrate, he needed to win this battle, "Bakugan Brawl!" yelled Izuku as he threw out Saurus. "Bakugan Stand!" he said as Saurus turned into his true form. Saurus growled at Masquerade as he prepared for battle.
"Bakugan Brawl!" he shot out Reaper to battle again. "Bakugan Stand!" he said as Reaper emerged through the dark void.
"Ability Activate! Saurus Glow!" yelled Izuku as he tossed the Ability Card boosting Saurus' power level. "You beat my Gate Card, but you won't be able to override the power of my ability card." said Izuku, feeling confident, but Masquerade let out a sly grin.
"Double Dimension... Activate!" he unleashed a new Ability Card to lower Saurus' power level. This shocked Izuku.
"Oh no, he shut down the power of my Ability Card!" said Izuku as Reaper went in for another kill. He struck Saurus down with his Scythe sending him through the same portal he sent Serpenoid through. "No! Saurus!" Izuku watched as Saurus disappeared through the dark portal.
"No, no no no! I want my Bakugan back!" yelled Izuku at Masquerade.
"Sorry, but no can do... once the Doom Card is played, the Battle is over." said Masquerade as he grinned at them.
"The Doom Card?" asked Izuku curiously but at the same time afraid.
"Yes Izuku, the Doom Card. Once you throw it down, it overpowers all cards. Sending the defeated Bakugan into another dimension for eternity." Masquerade explained to him, Izuku couldn't believe it.
"You're kidding!"
"The Doom Dimension...!" said Drago as he figured it out immediately.
"He's right Izuku... a Bakugan can never return from the Doom Dimension." he explained to them as his rage began to build. "There we meet our eternal demise... nothing is feared more."
"Now I know how you're stealing everyones Bakugan! But the question is... why are you wrecking our game Masquerade?!" Izuku asked him, filled with anger. But he soon heard Masquerade chuckling.
"Izuku, Izuku, Izuku... who ever said that this was just a game? Every single battle is real." said Masquerade with an ice cold tone. It frightened Izuku to his core, he unknowingly just sent his Bakugan, living, breathing creatures to a dimension that had no way out. Izuku then saw Drago glowing.
"Drago?" he watched as Drago growled angrily at Masquerade, but knew what to do. "Gate Card set!" he threw out his Gate Card and grabbed Drago. "Come on Drago, this is our one shot at it!" he yelled as he threw out Drago. At the same time Masquerade threw out Reaper, and both Bakugan collided with each other as they both reverted to their true forms.
Drago roared at Reaper in anger, and charged at him about to bite down on him. But Reaper blocked it with his scythe. "Why are you doing this?! Do you realize what's happened in Vestroia?!" Drago asked Reaper filled with rage.
"That does not concern me!" said Reaper as he released Drago's jaws from his scythe. He went to strike him down, but Drago managed to dodge it.
"Of course it does!" Drago exclaimed as he went to scratch Reaper with the talons on his feet, but Reaper blocked his attacks.
"I am a soldier! And in this dimension, I am free to team up with a human!" said Reaper as he swung his scythe at Drago. "Then I can inherit infinite power!"
"You fool!" yelled Drago as he swung his tail at him, but Reaper leaped over it with the help of his demonic wings.
"I've had enough of you! It's time to send you to the Doom Dimension, Dragonoid!" yelled Reaper as he leaped into the air. Izuku and Drago panicked for what was about to happen.
"Drago look out!" yelled Izuku as Reaper went in for the kill.
"Have a pleasant journey!" said Reaper as he struck Drago, resulting in something he did not expect. Drago's entire body suddenly began to glow as he started to growl at him. Masquerade saw it surprised, sensing Drago's power.
"What...?"
'Its happening again, just like with Unitian' Izuku thought before he then activated the gate card they were on, "Drago! Gate Card open! Activate Firestorm!" yelled Izuku as Drago's power shot up. "We're down to our last card... this is it..." he was about to activate it, but Drago roared out as his power surrounded him in a red aura. "What's wrong...?"
"ULTIMATE BOOST!" yelled Drago as he unleashed all his power upon Reaper. The entire battlefield began to overload, Izuku's ability card shattered once more like before. Reaper was defeated, and in a blinding flash of light. The entire battlefield disappeared, and they returned to the Railroad Bridge.
"Drago? Drago where are you?!" Izuku said as he looked for him and soon found him on the ground. He picked him up and cleaned the dirt off him. "Drago..."
"I spared him for you..." said Masquerade as Izuku looked at him.
"Why...?" he asked him curiously.
"You realize I could have captured your Bakugan... but I decided against it. It's been a slice, Izuku, later..." he said as he was about to walk away.
"Wait! I can beat you! I know I can!" said Izuku, feeling determined to defeat him, he needed to beat Masquerade for what he did to his friends-.
"Bakugan is not a mere game kiddo... There are other dimensions and powers involved. It's a battle that can lead to the destruction of the entire world." said Masquerade
"For real...?" asked Izuku.
"And the only way to stop it... is for you to defeat me." he turned to them with a smug grin.
"This is crazy..." said Izuku, still feeling shocked by what he said, Masquerade chuckled and walked away into the darkened hallway. He soon pulled out Reaper.
"So human, that was a Dragonoid. I wonder if he fought at full power...?" Reaper wondered
"No clue... and unfortunately he didn't possess what I'm searching for. But I will remember young Izuku Midoriya and his Bakugan Drago." said Masquerade with an ice cold tone.
Meanwhile with Izuku, he was still on his knees after facing a draw, but that wasn't his focus, what he was thinking on was he just sent innocent bakugan to a literal hell, he looked terrified, Drago uncurled fro his ball form and saw Izuku's expression.
"Izuku, are you alright?" he asked.
"...Drago...what have I done…" Izuku said as tears fell from his eyes, "I just sent those Bakugan to a place they didn't deserve...how could I be so careless" Izuku was upset, before suddenly scowling and looked angry, "Masquerade...he did the same thing with Denki and Kacchan'' he soon punched the ground in anger. Drago was surprised by his action. "I will beat you Masquerade...!" he said as he grit his teeth.
At nightfall, Izuku had returned home to tell everyone what happened. they couldn't believe what they were hearing. "You're kidding... he took two of your Bakugan, but spared Drago?" Uraraka asked in disbelief. Izuku nodded at her knowing it was hard for her to believe.
"He was heartless, he sent two innocent bakugan, living creatures to a literal hell" he said, still feeling pain in his heart. Uraraka felt it just by looking at him.
"So... are you going to be alright...?" Alice asked, feeling concerned. Izuku didn't want his friends to worry about him, but he didn't feel like putting on a cheerful face after what happened.
"I'll be ok, just need to calm down and think stuff over is all" said Izuku before he realized something.
"Hey, where's Kacchan?" he asked, noticing his childhood friend wasn't online.
"Bakugo hasn't been online ever since he came to tell you about Masquerade" Denki said, that news had worried Izuku, Bakugo never lost at anything, so this was something new for the explosive teen, maybe he needed time to think about it
Meanwhile at Bakugo's house, he was staring at his computer screen, it was a recording of the latest Bakugan battle, Izuku vs Masquerade.
"Game set, Draw" the computer said as Bakugo just stared at the screen.
'Deku's fight with that masked moron was a draw? Does that mean Drago is that strong? Or was I just weak? No! I'm not weak! I'm the fucking best!' Bakugo thought to himself before he shut off his computer and went to his bed.
'What I need is a talking bakugan, a bakugan that's so strong, so god damn cool and powerful, that nobody will ever beat me again!' he thought before he went to sleep, not noticing a red glowing orb outside his house, just resting by his window.
Izuku: Coming up next time on Bakugan Hero Brawlers, me and Drago continue our training for the powers we'll be gifted, while that happens, Kacchan has been suspiciously quiet, next thing I know, my friends start finding their own partner Bakugan, man things may be changing for the better, hey who's that? A follower of Masquerade? I can't let more Bakugan be sent to the Doom Dimension, lets do this Drago! BAKUGAN BRAWL!
(Hope you like this chapter guys, also I've been thinking, should I add Leonidas and Vladitor from the Bakugan Video game? If I do, Leonidas will NOT got to any of Class 1-A, they'll go to a different character, Vladitor will still be paired up with Marduk.
So should I add them or not? Tell me now so things can go easy, also please don't suggest future Bakugan to any characters, like I said before, I'm playing this through the right timeline, Bakugan from each season remains in that specific season)
