Chapter 6:

(Felix POV)

- 7 months later -

The last 7 months have been my own personal hell. Hernando would only be seen with Pepa during town events and every other date they had would be canceled for one reason or another. Pepa didn't even seem to notice but, everyone else did. I wanted to tell her what I thought about him, what I really thought about him, but I had never seen her so happy. She was more in control than ever with the weather and I hated that it was because of him. It was clear skies and rainbows almost everyday. I was so happy that she was in control and I was so happy that she was happy I just hated that he was the one making er so happy.

I was going into town after having worked, covering 3 additional areas for people that couldn't come in today. I was covered in dirt from head to toe and just wanted to go home and go to sleep. The problem was that I promised everyone that I would meet them in town for a festival that was going on tonight. I trudged my way home and cleaned myself up and came back into town. I saw Augustin along the sides quiet as his brothers were dancing with other people in town. I looked to see what was going on and caught a glimpse of Pepa dancing with Hernando, "Want to go to the refreshment table?" I asked. He nodded his head, "Yeah."

We went over to the table and poured ourselves glasses of water, but I kept glancing back over at Pepa, "You know Hernando is not that great." I nodded my head, "Yeah, he is a real tool." I sighed as I ran my hand through my hair, "Look, I know that you have to be here because of your family and I know that Julieta has to be here to heal everyone and that Pepa is on a date with Hernando and that Bruno would be here but he is trying to avoid the mobs of people that are mad at him, but I think I might make a few rounds and then just go home. It has been a long day." Augustin gave me a sad smile, "You know if I could I would be out of here too." I laughed, "Well if you would move in with me..." He nodded his head, "I know, maybe one day but you know I can't right now. Even if I wanted to, I'm not 18, my family could just bring me back." I smirked, "The perks of being completely unattached." "Felix?" He started but I laughed, "You know I'm kidding. I'll see you around." "See you Felix," he waved.

(Pepa POV)

The last 7 months have been so great. I was so excited tonight I was going to the festival with Hernando. He was meeting me at the festival. In the last few months we had gone to every town festival together, which happened quite often in Encanto, and everyone in town seemed to like the match. A Santiago and a Madrigal, it just made sense to them. Plus Hernando was very handsome. He had to cancel a few times when we were supposed to spend time together but whenever we were at a festival he never left my side.

I went down to the festival and saw that Julieta had stationed herself at her booth in town. I also saw Augustin constantly stealing glances at Julieta and I smiled to myself. I then saw that Felix had made his way into town. I was going to go over to him but Hernando pulled me in closer, "Pepa is anything wrong?" I shook my head, "No I was just going to say hi to..." I went to point toward Felix and Augustin but they were gone. I smiled back at Hernando, "Never mind they left. I'll say hi later." He nodded his head, "I hope that you won't be gone too long when you do." I blushed as I looked down. Hernando sure knew how to make me blush.

The music changed and we made our way to the side to get something to eat and drink. "So Hernando where do you work in town?" I asked sweetly. He looked over at me before back down at his food, "My family owns a few fields out there so we oversee everything figure out what to plant when and all of that." I smiled, "That's interesting would I see you out there. I'm out there all the time to fix the weather to what needs to be done..." We heard noise coming from the dance floor and we went over to see what was going on.

I smiled as I saw Felix was pulling different people from around the circle to join him and dance. It was usually the people who didn't dance at these festivals and they looked so happy to be included. Each time he pulled a different girl in he pulled a guy to dance with the girl he was dancing with before. Soon the entire circle was filled with people who were dancing, laughing and clapping as Felix was in the center of it all with a little girl from town who was standing on his feet to follow along. I started clapping as well when Hernando turned to me and whispered, "Did you feel that chill?" I quickly tried to think of thoughts that made things warmer but not to quickly if I did it would make it rain. Still it looked like a lot of fun.

(Felix POV)

I was working my way around the festival and saw all the different couples dancing coming in and out of the floor. That was when I noticed Sarah Dominguez sitting along the sideline, "Sarah, what is going on?" She sighed, "I hate town functions like this." I tried to think of the last time I saw Sarah on the dance floor and I knew what that was about. I then looked around and saw that there were a few other girls sitting there as well with that same look on their face. I had an idea but it was going to take all my willpower to keep it going. I looked around the festival before I looked my gaze on the guys who were sitting on the opposite side of the dance floor.

I took a breath this was going to take everything I had left. I looked over at Sarah and held out my hand, "Would you like to dance Sarah?" Her eyes widened as she smiled taking my hand. I waited until pretty much everyone left the floor before I brought Sarah out front and center. We began dancing around for a few seconds as the girls who were on the sidelines came to see what was going on and the guys did as well. I span Sarah towards the side and grabbed a Louis's hand bringing him out to dance with her. I made my way back over to the girls and continued with this pattern until almost everyone was partnered up.

I smiled at my handy work when I felt a tug on my shirt. I looked down and saw a little girl from town named Marie, "Can I dance too?" I nodded my head and brought her out to the center of the dance floor with me. She looked up at me, "I don't know the steps." I smiled down at her and lifted her up onto my feet, "Just follow my lead." She nodded her head and had a big smile on her face as I led her around on the dance floor. As the song came to an end I walked Marie back to her Mama and watched as many of the couples I had paired up continued to dance together. "You might be Encanto's newest matchmaker," Julieta said. I laughed, "Please everyone in town knew about these matchings I just brought them together. Odds are that only one of them dance together at the next town function." She shrugged, "Maybe. Doesn't mean you didn't make all of their nights." I smirked, "Well then my work here is done. I was going to call it early. I worked a long shift today." She nodded her head, "Did you see Pepa yet?"

I bit my bottom lip, "See yes, talk to no." "Felix," she started but I shook my head, "Look all of you are my best friends but Hernando and I just don't get along and I am not going to put anyone in that awkward position." She sighed nodding her head, "Fine, but you took the day off next month, right?" I sighed nodding my head, "I can't believe you all convinced me to do this." She laughed, "Serves you right for not telling us when your birthday was for years." I shook my head, "See you in town Julieta tell Augustin I said by, ok?" She nodded her head, "Of course and here." She handed me an arepa, "I'm not hurt." She shrugged, "Tell that to the tension in your left shoulder and your slightly off-balanced step." I looked at her, "That is scary. I don't remember that being part of your gift." She smirked, "It's not, it just comes with the territory." I took a bite of the arepa and rolled my shoulder back slightly more comfortable, "Thank you." She nodded her head.

(Pepa POV)

I went to find Felix as he went off the dance floor, with Hernando closely behind me. I found Julieta, "Hey do you know where Felix is, I haven't talked to him all night." She let out a breath, "He just left. Apparently he worked really long hours today." "Oh," I said not sure why it bothered me so much that he left without talking to me. I mean I knew that he was my best friend and everything I guess I just wanted to spend some time with him, "Pepa let's go back on the dance floor." Hernando said guiding me away I nodded my head, "See you at home Julieta." She nodded her head and I went back out onto the dance floor with Hernando.

I went home as the festival came to an end and I smiled to myself. I had a really nice time. It was great to spend time with Hernando.I went up to my room and fell back into my bed letting out a long breath. I kept everything in control all day long and now that it was nighttime I could relax and settle into bed. No one really cared about the weather at this point because they were all already home. I hoped Felix got home alright. I shook it off and went to sleep.
