Int. Zachary's House - Night
the camera pans up and reveals Zachary Rosemann, on his computer finishing up an essay about his summer, he struggles to find a way to end it off, trying to answer the big question, How was your summer?
to be truthful, Zach really didn't do much other than hang out with his friends
He contemplates on just turning it in the way it is but he wants full credit
he glances at the time, it says 5:00am along with a date: 8/20/19.
Zach:
Time to go
The camera zooms out as Zachary gets out of bed and the title card fades in.
Scream: Welcome to Okeechobee High
Smash to:
Ext. School Parking lot - Morning
it's a cold day, Zach gets off the bus and walks up to Jacob.
Jacob:
What's up man
Zach:
What's up
They do a little handshake before Ryan Phillips walks up to them
Ryan:
Long time no see guys
Zach:
no kidding
Jacob:
it's weird how we're officially freshmen, seems like yesterday we just started middle school
Ryan:
aw shit
Zach:

Ryan points over to another bus and here comes Brad, stepping off the bus wearing sunglasses, a leather jacket and ripped pants
Zach:
i thought he failed last year
Jacob:
knowing him, he made his parents bribe the school
Ryan:
I don't doubt it
Brad walks past the trio, heading straight towards the cafeteria
Zach:
we should probably head to class
they split off, Zach heads to the other side of the school, where he sees a line of people by the door
Int. School C-Wing - Same
he walks up to the head of the line and sees Olivia Moore
Zach:
any idea where the teacher is?
Olivia:
My guess is either stuck in traffic or he just doesn't want to be here
Zach laughs, and so does Olivia
Zach:
I'm Zachary
Zach extends his hand
Olivia:
I'm Olivia
She shakes his hand, but not long enough for it to become awkward
Olivia:
so, what grade are you in?
Zach:
I'm a freshman
Olivia:
A freshman? Taking an AP class? how does that work?
Zach:
Well, when you have an higher IQ than the average person, people take you for granted
Olivia is stunned
Zach (Cont'd):
and i wanted to challenge myself
Olivia:
that's great
they both laugh, seemed to be hitting it off well
Cut to:
Int. School A-Wing - Day
Jacob, already in his classroom waiting for the teacher to give instructions, when a new kid walks in
Teacher:
Everyone I want you to Meet Aaron, it's his first day and he needs somebody to show him around the school, are there any volunteers?
no one raises their hand, which leads to the teacher calling on somebody
Teacher:
ok, you in the red, come up here
He points to Jacob, and he reluctantly gets up and goes to the front of the class
Teacher(to Jacob):
What's your name?
Jacob:
Jacob
Teacher:
well, jacob can you take Aaron around the school and give him a little tour when class is over?
Jacob:
Sure
Teacher:
Excellent, you can go back to your seat
Jacob goes back to his seat
Cut to:
Ext. School Cafeteria - Afternoon
Zach and Ryan are in line waiting for food, along with Jacob and Aaron
Zach:
So, i met someone
Ryan:
Really? Who?
Zach:
her name is Olivia, we met during first hour
Ryan:
That's great
Behind them, Brad is seen cutting through the line and goes right in front of Zach and Ryan
Zach:
Hey, we were here before you man
Brad:
well now you can be here after me
Ryan:
just let it go
Zach:
No, listen Brad just because you--
Brad turns around and gets in Zach's face, which clearly intimidates him
Brad:
Listen, you better be real smart with the words that come out your mouth next
Ryan:
or what?
Brad:
So what is it gonna be hotshot?
Zach is clearly terrified of Brad, he doesn't say a word
Brad:
Yeah, that's what i thought, stay out of my way and I'll gladly stay out of yours
Brad walks off, Lunch in hand, which relieves Zach
Ryan:
you alright?
Zach:
Yeah, I'm fine
they grab their lunches and go, the camera pans up towards the sun which turns into a moon
Cut to:
Int. Zach's House - Night
the camera zooms out and shows the moon from a window, it turns and sees Zach on his bed looking at the ceiling and talking on the phone
Zach:
where were you at lunch today?
Jacob( on phone):
sorry, i had to show the new kid around the school
Zach:
New kid? who is it?
Jacob:
his name is Aaron, he just moved from kansas
Zach:
that's great
Jacob:
look, i gotta go
Zach:
yeah same
Jacob:
bye
Jaocb hangs up, leaving Zach with his thoughts, he gets up and walks towards his desk and opens his computer and opens up a message from Olivia saying "heyyy" and he laughs
he types a message while the camera pans to Olivia, texting back and as the camera zooms out it is revealed that BRAD is sitting on the couch next to her
NEXT TIME ON OKEECHOBEE HIGH:
- Zach sneaks out
- Jacob talks to Brad which doesn't end well
- Olivia and Zach arrange a Study date
- New kid joins the friend group
