Chapter 1: Order 66

A woman in a black robe is seen crawling through the air ducks of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. The woman came into focus and it was none other than Barris Offee. It had taken her a couple of minutes to get her bearings and kept an eye out for security that had crossed below her. She followed the air docks in the direction that lead to her quarters.

Once over the grate that led to her quarters, she pulled the grate open and heard the sounds of blaster fire and lightsabers. Peaking down in the directions of the blaster fire she saw three Jedi's facing down some 501st clones. What was so important that these Jedi were protecting from the clones?

So many questions were going through her mind, as explosion could be heard in the distance. Barris was surprised by the event transpiring in front of her eyes. Months earlier, she had a premonition while mediating about her Master being killed and Ahsoka was dead. Had the reign of the Jedi come to an end?

She jumped down the grate and startled the Jedi who were deflecting the blaster fire. The one in the middle one looked at her and said, "Save the child."

Just as he turned to speak to Barris, he was shot and fell to the ground. A couple minutes later the rest that were protecting the child fell and died in front of her eyes. On the ground, standing behind the Jedi was none other than Grogu. He was the same species as master Yoda and she could tell that the child was scared of the clones coming towards him.

Grogu flinched every time the blasters were coming his way. There were three other younglings with Grogu and were huddled together. They were scared of the blaster fire and clones coming towards them. Why had the clones turn again the Jedi after everything they've been through during the Clone Wars?

Barris could see the odds were against them, but knew these were just innocent kids and needed her help. She grabbed her lightsaber hilt and ignited her saber and stood in a Soresu position. Moving the white looking saber, she blocked the blaster fire that was coming towards her. Using her force pull, she pulled one of the clones towards and pierced the armor killing the clones.

The blaster fire was deflected back towards killing those it hit. But the more clones she killed, the more appeared around the corner and were coming towards her. How was she going to get out alive and let alone save the younglings.

A young female youngling who was holding a doll started to cry and grabbed Barris by the leg. She felt the girls small hands wrap around her left leg. She said, "Stay behind me and when I tell you to run you run with the others and don't look back."

Suddenly the ceiling began to shatter in front of her eyes and collapse on top of the clones standing in front of them. She closed her lightsaber and turned towards the younglings. She was impressed by their abilities and noticed that Grogu had collapse and was fast asleep. She kneeled down and picked up the young child and placed him in her hand arm and headed towards a staircase and together they made their way down to the lower levels.

A blue lightsaber and a hooded looking Jedi stood between them and the exit out of the temple. He had Sith colored eyes and looked scary to the younglings. The younglings recognized the voice of Anakin Skywalker and the one with the doll looked at Barris and said, "He's the one who killed those younglings and we were lucky enough to have survived the slaughter."

"I always knew your anger would get the best of you Anakin." Barris replied angrily.

She stared at Anakin and ignited her lightsaber hilt pointing it at him with her left hand. Anakin saw the surviving younglings with Barris and said, "Give me that child in your arms or die like these younglings will."

"I'll never give you this child, he is coming with me. You want him come and get him." Barris yelled.

Anakin looked at her and said, "I've grown more powerful than last we met Barris."

"You're powers may have doubled since last we met. But don't be disappointed when I put you in your place." Barris replied.

Anakin hadn't expected her to resist him and thought it would be easy, but he could feel her force power and was surprised how much it double while she was in prison. He looked at her and could feel her power. He then said, "I never expected you to have this much power since last I saw you."

"You mean when I was sent to prison." Barris replied.

Anakin said, "Instead of us fighting. Why not join my new empire and together we can kill the emperor."

"Join you, as what?" Barris asked with a confused look to her.

Anakin looked back at her and said, "Leave the Jedi order and become my first Inquisitor."

"I'm happy with where I am in my life and I'm no Jedi." Barris replied.

Anakin upset turned to order his clones to leave them and let him deal with Barris and the younglings. He looked at them and said, "Then die as the person you are."

"Why are you doing this?" Barris asked.

Anakin started pacing the floor then turned to look at her and said, "I saw through their lies and made my choice."

"From where I stand, you saw what he wanted you to see and hear. You believed in his words because he was your friend. You were tricked and I can't believe you'd be this naïve to fall for what he did and not see what's right in front you." Barris replied, as she could feel the conflict within him.

Anakin heard her words and the anger within him began to swell with him. Fueling his power to bring peace to the galaxy and save the one he loves. He looked back at her and said, "I need him to help save the woman I love."

"Padme is the woman you love isn't she?" Barris asked.

Anakin surprised that she knew about Padme and said, "I'm impressed you were able to figure out who I was talking about, but I can't allow you to live with the knowledge."

He began rushing towards her with his blue lightsaber still in his hand. His anger had taken over and without thinking about the situation. This wasn't the first time he acted without thinking and I doubt it was going to be his last. He had had his orders and needed to capture the child at any cost even if it meant killing them all.

Barris watched as Anakin began rushing towards her. She needed to get everyone to safety and knew this wasn't the time to battle Anakin with younglings around her. There sabers met and clashed together, while the younglings took a step back. Grogu was still in her right arm causing her to compensate his attacks.

Clones were running towards where she was battling Anakin and knew they'd target the younglings and her. She wasn't going to allow Anakin and this Sidious get there hand on the child. She decided to use the force and lifted Anakin in the air.

Anakin levitated in the air and was tossed towards some clones that had entered the Temple and were about to kill the younglings. She jumped and cut the clones without breaking a sweat. More guards were on the way as Anakin was slowing recovering from being force pulled towards the clones that had entered the room from a doorway adjacent from where Barris and the younglings stood.

Barris looked up at the ceiling and using her force pull caused it to fall on top of Anakin. It gave them the time to escape the temple and head outside only to watch some clones mass around them.
