Chapter 2: The Escape

Cera Junda made her way into the Jedi temple and was looking for Trilla Suduri. It had been her hope that Trilla had made the jump and was still alive. They had returned from a mission in the outer rim and were over the planet Coruscant when Order 66 was initiated. To prevent the clones from changing course, they took over the Venator Class Star Destroyer and destroyed the console.

Their clones, however, attacked them and forced them to fight their way on board. Once the ship made its way into the atmosphere, it was time to head for the airlock. Upon reaching the air lock, clones surrounded them, making them jump for their lives.

In Trilla Suduri's case, she was a tall woman with sleek black hair and blue-green eyes. Compassionate, kind, and protective, she cared for those who were under her care. Using her lightsaber, she had blocked the blaster fire that was coming their way. While her Master tried to open the air lock door by hot wiring into the display. She jumped in front of the shot, causing it to strike her below in the abdomen, causing her to languish in pain.

Afterward, Cera Junda pushed the remaining clones away from where they were and shut the door behind them, forcing them to use blow torches to try and enter the room. Cere Junda was able to see the buildings over Coruscant after entering a lower orbit, and as she glanced at Trilla, who was holding her wound in her hands, she made the decision to jump into the building below. Upon jumping, Cere and Trilla landed on adjacent buildings.

Trilla, who was on the roof of a building near the Temple, attempted to stand up, only to be overcome by pain coming from her abdomen, as the blood began to drip onto the ground. As a consequence of blood loss, she collapsed to the ground and became unconscious.

Her master had always praised her for being brilliant and extremely intelligent, complimenting her for anticipating others' behavior during a fight. She realized how bad her injury was and pondered how she was going to close it. Eventually she devised a plan.

After pulling her lightsaber out of her belt, she ignited it and placed it on the wound. As her voice carried through the air, Trilla screamed loudly. Her lightsaber fell from her hand to land on the ground.

Blaster fire could be heard emanating from the Jedi Temple. Trilla slowly pulled herself to her feet and rested her back against the wall of the building. Looking around, she tried to find something to keep the wound from becoming infected. There was nothing she could find on the roof. Turning the knob on the door leading inside the building, she discovered it was locked. She remembered to pick up her lightsaber hilt from the ground and place it on her belt.

She rammed the door with her body and shoulders. She manages to break the door open with her brute strength and descend the stairs to the first floor. Trilla noticed a door to someone's apartment was open after ascending to the first floor of the building. There was something odd about the open door to the apartment and the residents' speedy departure. The walls and door appeared to have been scorched by blaster fire and lightsabers.

When she walked around the apartment, she looked around in confusion as she searched for something to cover the wound. As she wrapped a clean towel around the wound, she heard blaster fire again, so she decided to run outside and follow it.

Standing outside the Jedi temple, one could see a cloud of smoke rising from the temple. While gazing at the Jedi temple, she wondered whether anyone had survived the attack by the clones. With the smoke thickening around the temple, the damage was clearly visible even to the naked eye. After struggling for breath, Trilla halted to take a breather, but she remained out of the clones' sight.

Considering her options, she chose where to enter the temple. Trilla chose to rush the stairway and cut her way into the temple from the left side of the main entrance.

As Trilla gazed at the temple, she noticed the steep stairs that led inside, which seemed to stretch on forever. On either side of the staircase stood two clones from the 501st as guards. Any Jedi they encountered was to be killed, and anyone wishing to know about the Jedi was to be ejected.

Trilla was rushing up the stairs when one of the guards yelled, "A Jedi!"

"I'll get her." The clone trooper suggested, as he aimed his blaster rifle at Trilla.

Her cloak fell to the ground when she sprinted up the stairs, letting her cloak fall off her body Trilla's emotions and thoughts were of her friends dying at the hands of the clones. The guard was forced thrown down the stairs with ease after she forced pushed him. As he was getting ready to fire, he pointed his DC-15A Blaster Rifle at her.

Using the force, Trilla was able to pull her lightsaber hilt to her left arm, allowing her to slice down the other clone on the right side effortlessly. Clone trooper's head went tumbling down the stairs as his body collapsed.

The sounds of lightsaber and blaster fire emanating from within the Jedi temple deterred her from entering the temple through the main entrance. After closing the lightsaber, she placed it on her belt. Trilla walked behind her and went to the area where she planned to cut a hole deep enough for her to fit in it.

At the location, she ignited the green blade of her lightsaber and cut through the wall of the Jedi temple and made a hole large enough for her to squeeze through. By cutting through the wall, she thought the sounds of her saber would attract the clones' attention. Since they were focused on the Jedi in the temple, none of the clones heard the sounds of the saber.

She kept her head down as she made her way up the stairs. After a few minutes, she arrived at a circular room that overlooked ships flying in the distance. The bodies of the younglings were scattered all over the floor.

Besides the dead younglings, there were lightsaber hilts on the ground.

Walking over to one of the younglings who had passed away, she bent down to close its eyes. As tears rolled down her cheeks, her heavy heart was overtaken by raw emotion.

Wiping her cheeks with her hands, she wiped away the tears.. Some of these younglings died when they were struck by a lightsaber, but who would intentionally kill these young Jedi without remorse?

Despite knowing the temple wasn't safe, she wanted to bury the younglings and give them a proper burial. It was Trilla's hope that there were other survivors out there. The chill reverberated throughout her body, making her feel uncomfortable.

Who or what was causing the cold vibe?

Could she be feeling the person who had just killed the younglings?

Suddenly, she heard the sound of a roof collapsing behind her. She rushed to the doorway and took one last look at the dead younglings before sprinting toward the collapse. Walking down the hallway of the temple, she came across the debris. The gaping hole in the ceiling caught Trilla's attention and she turned to head back the way she came.

But not before spotting a symbol of Barris Offee spray painted on the Jedi temple. Having retraced her steps, she headed back to the stairs that led to the main floor of the temple. All along the circular area were stairways, and beneath these stairways were rooms. From behind the railing, she glanced over and saw clone troopers swarming everywhere. Every Jedi that stood in their way was slaughtered.

The bodies of the dead Jedi lay scattered across the stairs and ground floor. By keeping a low profile, she was able to descend the stairs. She felt that her only chance of survival was to take refuge in the room below the nearby stairway. The door closed just in time, as Anakin and some clones had entered the main room and blocked the stairway out of the temple.

As she leaned against the door, she could hear the familiar voices of Barris Offee and Anakin Skywalker deep in conversation. Their conversation sounded tense and serious, and she found it strange that a Jedi master would betray the values of the Jedi. The sound of something crashing was heard coming through the wall a moment later.

As Trilla was preparing to leave, she heard the sounds of two DC-15A Blaster Rifles being pointed directly at her head. Turning slowly, she used her force pull ability to throw one clone against the door and grab the other in a swift motion. The other clone was killed instantly by Trilla when she broke his neck. After her force pulling ability threw the clone, the door broke off its hinges and knocked it out. With her green lightsaber, Trilla stabbed the clone in the back.

Leaving the room, she ran to the rubble of the collapse and looked behind her to see Barris Offee and some younglings running up the staircase and making their way outside. The sounds of moving rubble became audible suddenly.

To ensure their safety, Trilla had to act quickly and warn Barris that Anakin was lifting the rubble off his body. Barris and the remaining Younglings would be his first targets.
