Donna and Harvey had finished decorating their whole new apartment in Seattle, kitchen, living room, the couple's room , the visit room, even the bathrooms but left one room empty. They had no idea what to do with it. Harvey already had thoughts about but he kept to himself, he was afraid to put it out loud and share with Donna. They were married for almost a year and their lives were nice and quiet. Donna and Harvey used to go to work together and back together as well, on weekends they love travel or spend days doing absolutely nothing except a lot of sex in bed "It's my favorite "not to do nothing" thing", Harvey used make fun about it everytime making Donna laugh and roll her eyes.
It was saturday, after their hot morning sex, Donna got up naked from bed and walked few steps to her dresser, took the birth control pills with a sip of water, Harvey follow her with his eyes, admiring her curves, her but, her thighs, her boobs and stuck his eyes in her belly having some thoughts.
"What?" Donna asked when she noticed he was looking at her.
"Nothing, just admiring my wife", he lied and smirked then opened his arms for her to lay down again with him.
"Donna…" Harvey called her.
"Hum", she turned her neck to look into his eyes.
"I love you" he said that was not what he wanted to say, it was the truth but not the only words he wanted to say.
"Harvey, I love you too, you know that, right?" Donna asked and he confirmed by shaking his head, "I know you are thinking something…..but I don't know why you are so afraid to say it" she said, she knows Harvey.
"I'm not afraid…." Harvey said they got interrupted by Specter's phone. Louis sent a video of Lucy trying to walk and calling for Harvey.
Lucy is an almost year old toddler and she is Harvey and Donna' goddaughter, her second name is Reginalda, a little homage Louis made to Harvey making him soft. Harvey repeated the video a couple times, smiling every time he heard "Dada" from Lucy. Donna was looking at him, paying attention to his eyes shining seeing the kid.
"Look, Donna….she is calling me Dada" Harvey said showing the video to Donna.
"She is adorable! I cannot believe she is almost one year old" Donna said, pouting.
"I know right!" Harvey said without taking his eyes from the baby. "I miss her, you know"
"I know that" Paulsen knew, Harvey was in love with Lucy since she was born and before they moved to Seattle he used to be with her all the time. "I'll take a shower!"
"Ok…I'll call Louis to see Lucy" Specter said, calling to Louis. Litt picked up soon, "Show my baby on the phone" Harvey asked Louis.
"Our baby, OUR!" Litt corrected him laughing, Harvey rolled over his eyes.
While Harvey talked to Lucy, Donna was in her closet picking up her dress, she was watching Specter with his goddaughter and wondering how her husband would be If they have a baby, she was imagining scenarios and unconscious she smiled, then shakes her head to avoid these never talked about to have kids so she imagined that Harvey didn't want to, even, deep inside, she wants.
After Louis hang up the phone, Harvey got up and went to the empty room, staring the place, imagining a baby room, theirs baby. Recently, he was having the necessity to have a kid, his own kid, a kid with the woman of his life, "Now seems right….I'm where I supposed to be….we both are" he smiled reminding this conversation with Donna when they were still dating.
"What are you doing here? Donna asked, approaching him.
"Thinking" Harvey answered.
"About what? Can you tell me?" She insisted on putting her head on his shoulder.
"Thinking of us" Specter smiled at her, "Let's go brunch?"
"Let 's go!" Paulsen confirmed.
Donna and Harvey got brunch then went to the mall to shop for new clothes for them, some dresses for Donna and some suits for Harvey. They were leaving the mall when passed by near a baby store, both of them looked at the stuff then looked to themselves.
"Lucy would be so cute wearing one of these" Harvey said, Donna shaking her head affirmatively keeping to herself the thought "Our baby too".
It was almost night when they got back home, Donna was making some pasta for dinner while Harvey was on the sofa admiring her. He was encouraging himself to finally say to her what he was thinking earlier, encouraging himself to make the decision which probably would affect their lives. Harvey Specter wants to be a father.
After dinner, they were on bed cuddling and watching Survivor. Harvey took a deep breath.
"What?" Donna asked when he exhaled.
"I wanna say something…." He turned himself to Donna' side looking at her hazel eyes.
"I'm listening!" Paulsen said smiling.
"Donna….I never ever thought of myself as a husband….and now I am….and I am a happy husband because you are my wife, because you are the right woman to me, always was…." Harvey started, his thumb caressed Donna's face gently making her smiles. "And…I am complete with you, we have everything, but…"
"But?" Donna was curious, her heart was beating so fast and so loud, she couldn't think.
"But…..I think we deserve more….our relationship deserves to grow….we as well…as a family!" Harvey's eyes were shining at this point.
"So…you are saying….that we should have a baby? Our own baby?" Paulsen was trying not to reveal any emotion because If Harvey was not saying this she didn't want to show disappointment at all. She wants a baby with Harvey but she completely understands If he doesn't want to, and for her to be with Harvey, married with him is beyond her dream. She definitely won't mess up this.
"Yes! I'm saying this. I wanna be a father, Donna….Do you want to be a mother of my child?" Harvey finally asked her, he was trying not to shake. Donna gave him a big smile and said:
"Of course Harvey! I wanna be the mother of your child!" She hugged him, giving him a lot of soft kisses.
"Thank God…..I was afraid to say it out loud….I mean….it will change everything…."
"Harvey….as you said….everything is changed, everything has already changed! And this change will make us happier…!" Donna interrupted him.
"So…it's really happening? We'll have a baby?" Harvey needed a confirmation.
"Yes, Harvey!" Paulsen answered.
"Let's start practice, then!" Specter said getting over Donna who smiled at him caressing her hand in his face looking at the future father of her baby.
