Int. Doctors Office - Morning
it is November, the day is finally here, Zach gets the casts off
he is waiting with his dad
Doctor:
Zachary Rosemann?
Matt:
That's us, let's go
Zach and Matt get up and walk with the doctor
Doctor:
How long has it been since the incident?
Zach:
about 5 months now
Doctor:
That's good, we're going to take a couple x-rays and determine whether it's time to take the cast and brace off
Cut To:
Int. Schoolyard
Jacob, Ryan, Aaron and Olivia are sitting together
Jacob:
Where's Zach?
Olivia:
he's getting his casts off today
Ryan:
That's great
Jacob:
He's lucky to have you
Olivia:
Why do you say that?
Jacob:
Well, throughout the years I've known him, he's never really had a girlfriend, and when you two started dating, he's a completely different person in a good way
Olivia:
Aw, that's so sweet
The bell rings and they go to class
Cut To:
int. Doctor's office
Zach and Matt are waiting for the x-ray results, Zach is texting Olivia
Zach:
I gotta start thinking about what to get her for Christmas
Matt:
Well, what does she like?
Zach:
She likes a lot of things, if i narrow it down enough, I'll know just what to get her
The doctor knocks on the door and walks in
Doctor:
Hello, Zachary
Zach:
Hello
Doctor:
so here we have an x-ray of your leg after the incident
shows the bone out of place
Doctor:
and here's the x-ray now
Bone is straightened
Doctor:
Now with your arm, it's a bit different
Zach:
Just how different?
Doctor:
Well, here's after the incident
Shows arm bone cracked
Doctor:
And here's now
Show bone straightened but still chipped
Zach:
Does that mean i still have to wear the cast?
Doctor:
Thankfully, no, we'll take that off today, the chipped part is nothing to worry about
Zach:
Well, I'm ready, Doc
Cut to:
Int. Lunch Room - Afternoon
Jacob, Ryan, and Aaron are all sitting with Olivia
Jacob:
Any update on Zach?
Olivia:
He said that he's still waiting for the doctor to come in
A girl walks up and sits next to Jacob, they kiss, leaving the other 3 confused
Ryan:
Uh, who's this?
Jacob:
Oh, i forgot to tell you guys, this is Abby, she was at Zach's party last month and we kinda started dating, Abby, this is Ryan, Aaron and Olivia
Abby:
Nice to meet you guys finally, Jacob talks about you guys all the time
Olivia:
Really now?
Jacob:
I was trying to decide on a good time to do this and i thought it would be now
They all talk and the bell rings after a while
Cut to:
Zach, Matt, and the Doctor are sitting at a table, the doctor pulls out scissors
Int. Doctor's Office - Afternoon
Doctor:
Alright Zachary, just lay your arm flat on the table and I'll start cutting the cast
Zach puts his arm on the table and he begins cutting the cast, it's a quick process and he breaks the cast open and Zach pulls his arm out
Zach:
Wow, my arm looks smaller than I remember
Doctor:
That's normal, it'll take a few days for it to recover all your muscle mass, take off the leg brace please
Zach takes off the leg brace and puts it on the table, the doctor walks over and starts to cut the cast off enough for Zach to slide his leg out
Doctor (Cont'd):
And we're done, just wash both with a wet rag and you'll be good to go home
Cut To:
Ext. Doctor's office - Afternoon
Matt helps Zach walk outside and gives him the crutch
Zach:
i still got to have the crutch?
Matt:
The doctor said just until you regain your muscle mass and balance
Zach goes into Matt's car, and they drive off
Int. Matt's Car
Zach sits there, staring out the window and looks at his dad
Matt:
Did you decide on what your gonna get Olivia yet?
Zach:
I have an idea
Matt:
That's good
Cut To:
It's been a couple hours, Zach is laying in his bed, talking to Olivia
Int. Zach's Room - Night
Zach:
so they said that it will take a couple days for all the muscle mass to come back into my arm and leg and then I'll be good to go
Olivia (v.o):
That's great news
Zach:
Yeah, are you and your dad still coming over for Thanksgiving next week?
Olivia:
I talked to him about it earlier, he said that sounds like a good time
Zach:
so what did I miss at school?
Olivia:
well, Jacob has a girlfriend now
Zach:
Really?
Olivia:
Yeah, she just came out of nowhere and they started kissing
Zach:
That sounds a lot like us
Olivia laughs
Olivia:
It does
Zach laughs
Zach:
I'll see you tomorrow, ok?
Olivia:
Alright, love you
Zach:
Love you too
They hang up, Zach sets his phone down and Matt walks in
Zach:
Hey dad
Matt:
Hey, I'm hitting the hay, alright
Zach:
I was doing the exact same thing
Matt:
alright, goodnight
Mat closes his door and Zach rolls over to go to sleep
